Leeds six-piece Adult DVD have returned this week with news of their highly anticipated debut self-titled album, due out September 25th on Fat Possum Records. Coinciding with the announcement, the band have unveiled their vibrant new single, Cowboy on Aisle Three - a track that perfectly encapsulates their delightfully off-kilter sound through kaleidoscopic synths and infectious hooks. Speaking on the new single, the band's frontman Harry Hanson says - “I came up with the idea when I was in Lidl. Merseyside outfit Keyside recently returned with their gleaming new effort Cocodamol. Taken from the band's self-titled debut album, due out 7th August 2026, the track captures the highs and lows of modern romance, wrapping its heartfelt lyricism in a rich blend of melodic guitars and swoon-worthy vocals. “Cocodamol” explores loose love in party culture,” reveals Parker. “Friends-with-benefits, emotional placeholders, intimacy without permanence. Two Door Cinema Club announce first UK & Ireland arena headline tour in seven years

Following a recent string of summer shows announced by the band, Northern Irish indie rock favourites Two Door Cinema Club today unveiled their plans to return to the UK and Ireland for their first headline tour in seven years. Celebrating 15 years of their iconic debut album Tourist History, the tour will see them take in 5 cities across the country joined by The Royston Club for the Ireland dates in Dublin and Belfast, while Circa Waves and Arkayla will appear in Glasgow, Manchester and London. Speaking on the tour, the band said: "It's been over seven years since we've done a UK and Ireland tour. Each and every one of these cities holds a special place in our hearts, we've played almost every venue there is to play in each of them, now it's time for the big ones. We can't wait." With Canons Marsh bathed in fading sunlight, Bristol Sounds once again transformed the harbourside Amphitheatre into the beating heart of the city. After six nights of standout performances, there could hardly have been a more fitting act to close than Royel Otis, as the annual summer series wrapped up another stellar year.

Four years could feel like a lifetime for a band on the rise, and a great deal has changed since I last saw the Australian duo tucked away on the line-up at Cardiff's Sŵn Festival back in 2022.

With just a handful of EPs to their name at the time, they've since released two critically acclaimed albums, toured globally, sold out shows, and packed out festival tents as they've grown into one of indie's most compelling live acts. Something that was clear to see as the crowd packed in whilst the band dispensed with any sense of ceremony before they got straight to business.

Opener i hate this tune was quick to set the pace as it crashed into Adored, before Heading for the Door and who’s your boyfriend followed in quick succession, setting the tone for a set that rarely paused for breath.

Songs flowed seamlessly into one another, each transition more effortless than the last as the band maintained a relentless pace throughout. It gave the set a thrilling sense of momentum as they rode a wave of indie-pop euphoria that refused to let up.

Newer material from hickey slotted comfortably alongside older favourites, underlining just how confidently the band had expanded their catalogue. Car shimmered with effortless charm, while Kool Aid had the entire amphitheatre swaying before erupting into one of the loudest singalongs of the night.

Elsewhere, Foam and Come On Home highlighted the duo’s knack for pairing hazy indie-pop textures with undeniable hooks, their laid-back delivery belying just how tightly constructed the songs were.

Thankfully, the weather had cooled slightly following the previous week’s heatwave, but there was still a warm, scintillating atmosphere in the air as their sun-drenched, jangle-heavy sound lit up the shimmering industrial backdrop and concrete skyline.

As polished as the set was, the evening’s most memorable moments came from spontaneity. During Linger, Royel Otis invited a fan named Abby onto the stage to share vocals, turning their now-beloved cover of The Cranberries into an unforgettable highlight. Elsewhere, an impromptu on-stage proposal unfolded, prompting a heartfelt response from the band, who dedicated Sofa King to the newly engaged couple. An extra layer of significance to an already fan favourite moment.

With the words “This is a song we didn’t write” flashed onscreen, one of the night’s many playful quips (alongside “Show us your croooked teeth”), their cover of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder on the Dancefloor once again proved irresistible, transforming the disco classic into their own.

"This is our last song Bristol", Otis announced ahead of say something. But fans weren't easily fooled. Returning for a two-track encore, the band rewarded the audience’s energy with the soaring Sweet Hallelujah before closing on fan favourite Oysters in My Pocket - a track that had clearly grown alongside them.

“I Wanna Dance with You”? Royel Otis need not have asked earlier in the set; the crowd’s reaction had already shown they had them firmly in the palm of their hand. A masterclass in high-energy, tightly constructed set-listing, and a reminder of just how far they'd come. The question now: where next for a band already commanding stages of this size with such ease?

Following on from last month's single Baby You’re A Winner, Bristol’s Grandmas House have today shared the latest single from their long-awaited debut album, of the same name, ahead of its release on August 21st release via Brace Yourself Records. Here, ‘The Table’ sees the band charge ahead with gritty vocals and waves of swirling guitars as increasingly commanding vocal harmonies take the lead. Speaking about the single, the band share: “‘The Table’ is the first song we wrote for the album. It was written in part about a relationship that is falling apart and in part about our experiences as women in the music industry. We’ve been playing it live for a while now but it’s one that’s evolved and changed quite a bit over time. Following the announcement last month of their forthcoming third studio album, “You’re Gonna Need A Little Music”, set to be released 17th July via Island Records, Yard Act have today shared their brilliant new single New Beginnings. A fitting statement of intent, the track ushers in the band’s next chapter with powerful guitar work and choruses designed to stick. Ahead of the weekend, Phoebe Green returned with her scintillating new single, There’s Always Someone Kicking The Seat - taken from the new album PREMATURE NOSTALGIA, released 2nd October via The Green Dream Machine / Absolute. Opening with spoken-word observations, the track gradually gives way to its shimmering synth-pop textures and swirling electronics before a wave of emotion washes over. Speaking on the new single release, Phoebe shared: "We wanted this song to feel extremely visceral, as though the listener is experiencing the story firsthand; it was written in a similar way to ‘Reinvent’ lyrically where I just wanted to get an experience off my chest and melodically nothing fit, so I ended up just talking. It’s maybe my only proper break-up song, and Lucy really beautifully encapsulated the chaotic emotional journey sonically. Following their recent singles Nosedive and Goddamn, Lizard Man!, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have shared the latest teaser from their upcoming debut LP in the form of Get Up and Dance. Lifted from Cannonball, due out August 7th via Fiction Records, the song sees Emmie-Mae Avery take the lead on vocals, gradually unfolding from delicate guitar strums into soaring string arrangements. Explaining the track's theme in more detail Emmie-Mae shares: "In my mind it's set in a club, where you spot someone who’s been trying their luck with different people all night and decide to turn the game back on them. Following recent singles “Didn’t I” and “Catch You”, Dutch-Surinamese singer- songwriter néomí returns with details of her forthcoming EP ‘Crunchy, Sad and Strangely Happy’, arriving September 18th via Nettwerk. The news comes accompanied by her latest single Close, a track that depicts the addictive nature of unhealhty love. “Close is a song that is actually very much about an unhealthy form of love,” néomí explains. “The push and pull relationship where you don’t want to be together but also don’t want to let go. It is about desperately holding on, going back and forth with each other’s emotions. Think about avoidant/anxious attachment styles, bound to be together. Love can feel like a drug when it is felt like that, as if you can’t live without each other so that’s the reason why you have to stay close. “I’d advise you to let go instead of holding on but, love is a powerful thing, and the heart wants what it wants I suppose… luckily we have songwriting to cope with that haha. Blossoms announce new album 'Songs From The Wedding Cake' + UK Arena Tour

Following the release of April's single Joke About Divorce, and this week's latest offering, Meet Me In Love, Blossoms have excitedly announced the details of their forthcoming sixth studio album, Songs From The Wedding Cake. Deriving its name from 'The Wedding Cake', the nickname for Stockport’s Town Hall where band member Tom Ogden got married, the LP was recorded to tape at Tilehouse Studios and produced by Shawn Lee, set to be released 2nd October 2026, and is available to pre-order now. You can take a listen to their latest single below along with a teaser video for the band's upcoming Arena tour dates where they'll be joined by The Royston Club. Speaking about the latest single, Tom says: ‘“Meet Me In Love” was written on a songwriting trip to the Lake District with Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire. As often happens, it was the last day and we’d pretty much accepted that there probably weren’t any more songs left to write. We started messing around with a simple two chord disco groove and, within a couple of hours, the whole thing seemed to fall into place. It’s one of those songs that felt exciting from the moment it arrived. I remember driving home from the Lakes listening to the demo on repeat for most of the journey. We later finished the recording with Shawn Lee at Tilehouse Studios, tracking live to tape, but a lot of what made us fall in love with the song in the first place came from that original demo, so plenty of those parts survived onto the final record.’

Blackburn-born artist Charlotte OC has returned this week with her shimmering new single Start of Summer. Written amid a period of transition and grief, the track sees its emotional weight swell through expansive pop production and a commanding vocal delivery. "This song is about the ever-present longing I have for my father," Charlotte explains. "He absolutely loved being in the sun and being as tanned as humanly possible. Whenever I picture him, he's in the garden, covered in factor 15, with a glass of whiskey by his feet and a border collie by his side. I wanted the song to carry a sense of optimism, because that's how he always was when summer was around the corner, knowing that tan would soon be his again.
