Alongside the news comes ‘Regret (You Make Me)’, a slow-burning anthem that steadily builds into soaring vocals, restless percussion and an impassioned delivery. Speaking about the single he shares “‘Regret (You Make Me)’ speaks to standing for something in the past that you don’t connect with anymore and feeling like you’ve wasted time by doing so, whether it’s a friendship, or a deeply-held belief. It deals with the conflict of no longer feeling that faith, as you question both the time you’ve wasted versus what you could now have if you’d only gone further in your commitment.” Take a listen below.

Let It Set Us Alight tracklist
Ode To A God
Out Of Time
I Want To Feel It In My Heart
Regret (You Make Me)
If It Means It’s Grief
Hold On, Give In
More Than One
Lost In The Fire
Come To Me
Lord Run Away, I’m Coming
Let It
Live Dates
Thurs 27th August – The Windmill, London

i: https://www.instagram.com/henry.coke

Jamie T - 3310 + new album 'Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)'

Jamie T has this week announced the release of his forthcoming sixth album Ghosts (100 Days of Morning), out October 9th via Polydor Records. Reflecting on an incredible run, selling out some of Australia’s most iconic venues, including their first-ever headline performances at the Sydney Opera House and Anita's Theatre last week, the band return with their first new music in four years. Marking the start of a soulful and ambitious new era, the track wastes no time in coming to life through skittering percussion, soaring vocals and sweeping string sections. Speaking about the single, the band explain: "It's not really about anything in particular, other than the endless loop of birth, growth, death and rebirth which encases all matter and energy or whatever." Take a listen below.

i: https://www.instagram.com/gangofyouths

Why Horses? - Yr Big Day

Following an exceptional performance at last year's Swn Festival, I've been following Cardiff's Why Horses? intently, eagerly awaiting new music. And today it arrives, as the band announce their signing to Brace Yourself Records. Coinciding with the news, the recently expanded five-piece have unveiled their first single for the label, ‘Yr Big Day’, finding them in fine form as experimental folk guitar patterns intertwine with their signature delivery to maximum effect. Sharing more details, singer Gabriel Austin Lester explains, “My mom always told me that you could pretty much do whatever you wanted on your birthday. After a fight with my family last year on my 21st birthday, I started to question what I should actually be doing. The song is a reminder of what a birthday should be about: a celebration of your life and how amazing it is that you’re still alive. When I thought about my life I thought about times I’ve been reminded I’m alive, that’s where in the song ‘her laugh, her smile, your father’s eyes’ comes from, it’s listing a few memories of honest sentimentality.” Take a listen below with the Grant Lester directed clip.

Live Dates
Aug 17th | Brecon Beacons, UK - Green Man Festival (Settlement)
Oct 03rd | Vienna, AT - Waves Festival
Oct 21st | Manchester, UK - Rat and Pigeon
Oct 22nd | Bristol, UK - The Croft
Oct 23rd | Cardiff, UK - Clwb Ifor Bach
Oct 24th | Brighton, UK - Mutations Festival
Oct 27th | London, UK - Blue Basement
Oct 28th | Paris, FR - They’re Gonna Be Big Festival
i: https://www.instagram.com/whyhorses_

The Family Battenberg - Bed Bug

Cardiff's finest The Family Battenberg have revealed details of their highly anticipated forthcoming debut album Super Deluxe, due for release on 20th November via Stolen Body Records. Heading up the news is the band's ferocious new single Bed Bug, accompanied by a video featuring Getdown Services Ben Sadler in an Oscar nomination worthy performance. Speaking more about the track, the band say: “A lot of our songs sound like they’re about shagging, but aren’t, except this one sort of is. Bed Bug is about mites. How would a bed bug feel about getting obsessed with the person in the bed? We wrote it in a tent backstage at a festival in Orléans that we’d turned up three hours too early too because none of us speak French, demo’ing it there and then with no amps, and Billy hitting a guitar case for percussion. Even then we knew we wanted it to sound big. We’d spent nine months of 2025 not coming up with any new songs we were happy with, but this one thankfully broke our streak, and came to define the outlook of the new record”. Take a listen/watch below.

Super Deluxe by The Family Battenberg - Due 20th November via Stolen Body Records

Full Tracklisting:
Cattle Driver
Fuzzy Features
Bed Bug
Feed Yer (Nganga)
Silver Doggy
Hold Me Like A Woman
Brand New Boy
I Wanna Be Your Bitch
Leatherguy
Me and My Mother
The Family Battenberg are: Eliot Jones - guitar/vocals, Ethan Duck - guitar/vocals, Billy Stillman - Drums, Jessica Pritchard-Simmons - Bass.

i: https://www.instagram.com/thefamilybattenberg

Cyn Cwsg - Mobius

Cardiff via North Wales bilingual outfit Cyn Cwsg return this week with their buzzy new single Mobius. Making its debut with Huw Stephens on BBC 6 Music, the track pairs Jimmy Bradbury’s commanding lead vocal with the signature harmonies of Aoife Anson O’Connell, unfolding through crisp, skittering percussion and fuzz-laden
guitars. Speaking about the single, Westside Cowboy shared: "This is
our strut song, over 2 minutes in length but just under 3. A song for
perhaps a younger self? For that moment of waiting and isolation in the
hopes of a return. Or it could just be a song about a weird guitar. Who
knows!" Take a listen for yourselves below.

LIVE DATES
06.08 - Haldern Pop, Haldern, Germany
08.08 - Winterthurer, Winterthurer, Switzerland
09.08 - Weinturm Open Air. Offering more details about the single the band share, “This one felt like we wandered back into Dom's garage, where the band started. It's got one foot in glam and the other in grunge. Those two worlds’ probably shouldn't get along, which is maybe why they did. Fuelled by fuzz-drenched guitars and effortless slacker melodies, the track serves up another irresistible glimpse of what’s still to come. Speaking about the single, Asher White shares, “A tongue-in-cheek speculative fantasy of fame and fortune wherein I admit to feeling a little uncertain about the ‘Point’ of developing a pop music enterprise; whether it reflects or belies a true love of the Scene and the Community; what the threshold of public perception is and how it may only be masturbatory ego meglomania. Like if you’re pulling up the DIY show and leaving before it’s over, for example. ‘I used to watch you shave…’ is about how I once communed with myself while shaving as a meditative workshop in gender dysphoria and vulnerability but as of last year I now only do it in the shower, blindly, where I don’t have to see myself. Musically I was thinking: ‘I would like to be in Alvvays.’” Take a listen below.

<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; Leading with a pulsing synth beat and driving vocals, the track offers a compelling glimpse into what’s to come. “‘One song away from crying’ is about the precipice of a night out where you know you need to leave and have to make a decision. It’s a deeper decision because it’s less about the night itself but more about a reflection of a deeper internal conflict with your self value that you haven’t looked at yet”, Rachel shares. Take a listen below.

<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" Taken from the band's second album Cancel Me (I’m Tired), due October 2nd, the track leads with hyperbolic synths and pulsating electronics as its 90's rave sound takes hold. It is about “two fucking insane people who argue constantly and they are world-enders every time” says frontman Joe Love. At its core, it explores the feeling of being confused by the culture around you, and the isolation that often comes with that confusion." Take a listen below.

Live Dates
24th Jul - Sheffield, UK - Tramlines Festival
25th Jul - Abingdon, UK - Truck Festival
31st Jul - Derbyshire Dales, UK - Y Not Festival
8th Aug - Newquay, UK - Boardmasters Festival
14th Aug - Gothenburg, SE - Way Out West Festival
21st Aug - Saint Pölten, AT - Frequency Festival
23rd Aug - Istanbul, TR - Babylon Soundgarden Festival
27th Aug - Oost-Vlieland, NL - Into The Great Wide Open Festival
29th Aug - Reading, UK - Reading Festival
18th Sep – Chicago, US – Riot Fest

i: https://www.instagram.com/radiofreealiceband/

Blair Davie - You Must Be A Miracle

Scottish singer-songwriter Blair Davie has returned this week with their brilliant new single You Must Be A Miracle. Taken from the forthcoming EP You Like Ugly, Don’t You Babe, out 9th September via Giant Music, Davie pairs towering pop sensibilities with soaring vocal prowess as we get another blistering taste of what's to come. Speaking on the track, Blair Davie says “I thought I had finished the writing of the EP and then realised that I was missing one important song: the one that says thank you to the person that saved my life. I believe we all have someone out there; a friend, family, your partner: who can see you at your lowest and still love you. This song is dedicated to them.” Take a listen below.

Live Dates
26 July - Suffolk, UK @ Latitude Festival
29 July - Glasgow, UK @ Kelvingrove Bandstand (support to Mika)
11 Aug - Landshut, DE @ Summerstage im Messepark Landshut
12 Aug - Zwickau, DE @ Freilichtbühne Zwickau
14 Aug - Halle (Saale), DE @ Open Air Bühne auf der Peißnitzinsel
15 Aug - Wolfsburg, DE @ Autostadt Sommerfestival
16 Aug - Lingen, DE @ Emsland Arena
18 Aug - Stuttgart, DE @ Freilichtbühne, Killesberg Open Air
19 Aug - Bonn, DE @ Kunst! their long-awaited debut album 'Baby You’re A Winner', ahead of its release
on August 21st release via Brace Yourself Records. Twisted and brooding, the track's switching tempos and meandering textures serve up another exciting taste of what's to come. “Writing ‘Blue Oblivion’ was a pivotal moment for us as a band,” they explain, “as it made us realise that we didn’t have to write music within any boundaries. It opened up the way we would go on to write the rest of the album, encapsulating feelings of love and loss with a balance of light and dark.” Take a listen below.

Alongside the news of ‘Blue Oblivion’ comes word of a tour of UK record stores in support of the album. Feeling like everything was aligned for you, then dealing with keeping that initial connection as alight as possible through the ups and downs of a relationship. ‘Streetlights’ feels special… it’s a much more hopeful take on this topic than we’ve written before.”

On the EP, he adds: “‘On The Island We Call Home’ feels like our most polished piece of work yet. While still completely self produced, we’ve refined what we learnt from ‘We All Feel The Same’ into a much heavier hitting project that was curated to translate on the live stage. We dive deeper than we have before on this EP, and it’s only the start of our next chapter. The themes we explore are more mature and we approach them with a better sense of what’s going on around us. You can hear a bit more angst and anger in this new set of songs.”

Take a listen below. The accompanying music video, directed by Maisy Banks, continues the expressive thematics from Fletchr Fletchr’s previous release ‘Fucking With My Head’.
<iframe allow="accelerometer; Pondering vulnerability and seeking self-assurance, the track questions the feelings of not fully belonging in the world as Alex Moore's empowered vocals light up a backdrop of melodic guitar notes and dazzling instrumentation. “‘Vice Versa’ was written from a feeling of not fully belonging in the world we’ve built around ourselves,” explains Moore. “It came from that experience of having everything you need to survive, yet still feeling hungry for meaning, connection, and peace. The song sits between connection and alienation, between needing people deeply and fearing what we carry inside ourselves. Writing it with Ian down in Brighton pushed me into a much more vulnerable place creatively, and what started as a songwriting session very quickly became more like a therapy session. We spoke a lot about identity, dependence, fear and navigating life, and it ended up being probably the most open, honest and raw writing experience I’ve had in my career so far.” Take a listen below with the James Slater directed video.

Live Dates
Fri 17 Jul 2026 - London, Alexandra Palace Park*
Sat 18 – Sun 19 Jul 2026 – Nottingham, Splendour
Thu Jul 30 – Sun 2 Aug 2026 – Kendal, Kendal Calling
Thu 27 – Sat 30 Aug – Leeds, Leeds Festival
Fri 6 Nov - Leeds, First Direct Arena**
Sat 7 Nov – Cardiff, Utilita Arena**
Fri 13 Nov – Liverpool, M&S Bank Arena**
Sat 14 Nov – London, Alexandra Palace**
Fri 20 Nov – Glasgow, OVO Hydro**
Sat 21 Nov – Birmingham, Utilita Arena**

*with Richard Ashcroft
**with Courteeners

i: https://www.instagram.com/thelathums

GWEN - Achub Yr Iaith

Credit: Aled Llewelyn

After a decade performing in Adwaith, Gwenllian Anthony returns as GWEN, sharing her debut solo single Achub Yr Iaith. Translated as Saving the Language, the track's darkened pop tones and pulsating beat mark a bold new chapter for the well-adorned artist. As Gwenllian explains, “‘Achub Yr Iaith’ came from years of hearing people reduce Adwaith’s success to everything except our hard work. There were even conspiracy theories that we were being funded by the Welsh government to spread the language, as if that explained our achievements. It completely disregarded the years we spent writing, touring, and pushing ourselves creatively, reducing our success to the idea that we’d been handed it simply because we sang in Welsh. This song is about reclaiming that narrative. It’s a reminder that talent, determination, and belief will always matter more than the assumptions others make about you.” Take a listen below with the official video directed by Louis O’Hara and Gwenllian herself.

Catch GWEN perform her debut solo show at this year's Green Man festival, Sunday August 23rd on the Walled Garden Stage.

i: https://www.instagram.com/gwenmusic.gwenmusic

Henry Coke - I Want To Feel It In My Heart

South London musician and producer Henry Coke has today revealed his endearing new single I Want To Feel It In My Heart. Born into a lineage of vicars and church leaders, Henry drifted from the constraints of the church to wrestle with faith and God out in the open, finding reflections of his songs in the works of Sufjan Stevens, Bob Dylan, Young Fathers and Low. Here, we get a powerful glimpse of his capabilities as rousing percussion and soaring vocals drive the track toward its towering climax. Of the single Henry shares: “I Want To Feel It In My Heart' is the envy of the feeling of faith, the desperation to feel free in its grace and simplicity. What is living worth if you don’t have a reason? It’s a call to be shown something in a void of silence. People seem to find peace in the silence, and it’s the longing to also feel that way, instead of feeling fearful of it.” Take a listen below.

Live dates
Tues 11th August - The George Tavern, London

i: https://www.instagram.com/henry.coke

jo from school - Weight

Credit: Rosa Levenson

Following on from last month's single Julia Roberts, jo from school returns today with the tender offering, Weight, ahead of her forthcoming debut EP, Grace, Flair & Distance, which will be released on the 7th August via Chess Club Records. Acting as an introspective moment of reflection, the track’s softly plucked guitar melodies and calming vocals reveal another layer of the artist’s dynamic talent. Speaking about ‘Weight’, Jo explains: “This one was unique in that it was hard to keep writing, but [my producer] Rich knew it could be something. We understood that there was a fine line between supporting the songwriting and emphasising the parts that needed a push, and overdressing the song to a point where the rawness is covered up and lost. It was the first time he ‘pushed’ for me to continue with an idea - I’m very grateful he did. has today shared the LP's first single, Goodbye to All That. Inspired by her favorite Joan Didion essay by the same name, Williamson reveals, “Didion’s essay is about leaving New York after eight years and how ‘it’s distinctly possible to stay too long at the fair.’ In my eighth year of living in LA, I felt it was time to leave. I wrote this song as my farewell to LA, but songs are powerful in sneaky ways, and the song itself changed my mind. I realised I wasn't finished with life in LA” Take a listen below.

'A Mile South of Heaven' Tracklist
1. Speaking about the track the band share, "We've spent a long time writing about the negative aspects of pack mentality - tribalism, division. This song is the converse. ‘Stray Dogs’ is about finding your people. The image that stayed with us was of our road family, when there are thirty of us gathered in some far-flung part of the world. Or the moment the doors open and thousands of people come streaming into a festival or one of our shows, becoming one. It's about belonging and shared momentum. I guess the community we have built for the last decade. Once the idea of ‘Stray Dogs’ was fully formed, it made sense to base the rest of the album around it." Take a listen/watch below.

<iframe allow="accelerometer; Having built a formidable reputation through their electrifying live shows, the band effortlessly capture that same energy in the studio, delivering twanging melodies, infectious hooks, and a wealth of irresistible guitar riffs. Little Grandad’s vocalist and guitarist Harry Lower shares the following: “I’d been listening to lots of old French music like Edith Piaf and had become really into trying to write traditional songs. As I started to write the song it became clear it was going to sound nothing like that. Babe, We’ve Run Out Of Time is the band’s 1940s-inspired indie-rock song.” Take a listen below.

Little Grandad Live:
8th July – George Tavern, London SOLD OUT
9th July – Shacklewell Arms, London SOLD OUT
10th July – The Windmill, London SOLD OUT
11th July – Papilon, Southampton (So Young Magazine All-Dayer)
24th July – Deer Shed Festival, Thirsk
25th July – Latitude Festival, Southwold
26th July – Midi Festival, Hyères
31st July – All Together Now Festival, Waterford
2nd August – Wilderness Festival, Oxfordshire
8th August – Absolutely Free Festival @ C-Mine, Genk
21st August – Green Man Festival, Brecon Beacons
28th August – Into The Great Wide Open, Vlieland
29th August – Victorious Festival, Portsmouth
30th August – Tileyard North, Wakefield (w/ The Vaccines)
1st September – The Croft, Bristol SOLD OUT*Headline Show*
2nd September – Bodega Social Club, Nottingham *Headline Show*
4th September – Brighton Psych Fest, Brighton
5th September – Moseley Folk Festival, Birmingham
6th September – End of the Road Festival, Dorset
9th September – Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh *Headline Show*
10th September – McChuills, Glasgow *Headline Show*
12th September – Xerox, Newcastle *Headline Show*
13th September – Oporto, Leeds SOLD OUT *Headline Show*
15th September – Deaf Institute, Manchester *Headline Show*
16th September – Scala, London *NEW DATE*
18th September – Reeperbahn Festival, Hamburg
26th September – Float Along Festival @ Sidney and Matilda, Sheffield
15th October – Swn Festival @ Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff
17th October – Neighbourhood Festival @ Pink Room (YES), Manchester
24th October - Mutations Festival @ Dust, Brighton
5th November – Pitchfork Paris @ Supersonic Records, Paris
i: https://www.instagram.com/littlegrandad_
