Affiliate throughout: There are some beauty products that you buy, try once and think they're nice… and then there are those products that somehow end up permanently living in your handbag, on your bedside table and next to your laptop.

For me, Aroma-Zone lip oils are very much the latter.

I’ve been using these recently and, honestly, I’m a little bit obsessed. I love a glossy lip, but I don’t want something sticky, heavy or that makes my lips feel drier the second it wears off. I also love anything that gives me that 'your lips but better look' without requiring an actual makeup look.

So when I discovered the Aroma-Zone lip oils, I was intrigued. They’re affordable, they’re skincare-meets-makeup, and they give that gorgeous glossy, juicy lip effect that I’m constantly looking for.

I’ve been putting them through their paces for a while now, so today I’m answering all of the questions you might have about Aroma-Zone lip oils what they are, whether they actually hydrate your lips, whether they plump, what they look like, how long they last, which one I prefer and, most importantly, how much they cost.

Who is Aroma-Zone?

If you haven’t come across Aroma-Zone before, let me introduce you.

Aroma-Zone is a French beauty and wellness brand which began as a family project in 1999, originally sharing information about essential oils before moving into selling essential oils and, eventually, natural beauty, skincare, haircare and DIY cosmetics. The brand is particularly known for its focus on natural-origin ingredients, accessible pricing and a huge range of products.

One of the things I find really interesting about Aroma-Zone is that affordability is actually part of the brand philosophy. Aroma-Zone says it keeps prices down by sourcing directly from producers, limiting intermediaries and concentrating its formulas on the ingredients that matter rather than spending huge amounts on traditional marketing.

And that brings me neatly to the lip oils…

What are Aroma-Zone lip oils?

Aroma-Zone currently has a Transparent Icy Effect Lip Oil as well as a Tinted Lip Oil range.

They’re essentially a hybrid between lip care and makeup. You get the glossy, reflective finish you’d expect from a lip gloss, but they’re designed to do more than simply make your lips shiny.

The formulas are designed to hydrate and nourish the lips while also giving them a fuller-looking, smoother appearance. The transparent version contains hyaluronic acid, camellia oil and pomegranate extract, while the tinted formula contains hyaluronic acid, pomegranate-derived actives, vanilla oil macerate, castor oil and bisabolol.

And I think this is exactly why I like them.

They don’t feel like I’ve just put a layer of sticky gloss over my lips. They feel much more like a little treatment that happens to make your lips look incredibly glossy.

Are Aroma-Zone lip oils actually good?

Yes. This is the question I wanted to answer most.

I’ve tried a lot of lip products and I’m quite fussy about the texture. I don’t want something so thick that my hair sticks to my lips every time there’s a slight breeze, but I also don’t want something so lightweight that it disappears five minutes after applying it.

The Aroma-Zone lip oils get that balance really nicely.

They give me that beautiful wet-look, juicy lip without feeling unpleasantly sticky. My lips look smoother and more hydrated and, particularly with the tinted versions, I get a really pretty wash of colour too.

For me, they’re the kind of product I can apply without even thinking about it.

No mirror required. Swipe it on and go.

Do Aroma-Zone lip oils moisturise your lips?

Yes, and this is one of the reasons I think they’re so good.

The formulas contain ingredients specifically chosen for hydration and nourishment. The lip oils use hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the lips, while oils and botanical ingredients help nourish and soften them. Aroma-Zone says the transparent formula can keep lips hydrated for up to eight hours.

Personally, I really notice the difference in how my lips feel when I use a lip oil regularly rather than simply reaching for a traditional gloss.

They feel soft and comfortable rather than coated.

And for me, that’s a huge tick.

Do Aroma-Zone lip oils make your lips look bigger?

This is where it gets interesting.

The Aroma-Zone lip oils are designed to give a plumping or volumising effect, but obviously we’re talking about a cosmetic effect rather than anything remotely comparable to lip filler.

The transparent Icy Effect Lip Oil uses a pomegranate-derived active alongside menthol crystals, which gives that immediate cooling sensation and a fuller-looking effect. Aroma-Zone states that the formula delivers +22% lip volume without injections.

The tinted lip oils go further, with Aroma-Zone stating +40% immediate lip volume without injections based on its testing.

What I personally love is that I don’t feel like I’m walking around with enormous cartoon lips. It’s much more subtle than that.

It’s more of a smooth, juicy, fuller-looking lip.

Exactly what I want.

Do Aroma-Zone lip oils sting?

The Transparent Icy Effect Lip Oil has menthol crystals, so you get a noticeable cooling sensation when you apply it. Aroma-Zone specifically describes this cooling effect as enhancing the sensation of fuller, plumper lips.

If you’re someone who absolutely hates any sensation from a plumping lip product, this is worth knowing before you buy it.

I actually quite like that fresh, cooling feeling.

It makes it feel like something is happening, rather than just being another shiny lip product.

Are Aroma-Zone lip oils sticky?

This was one of my biggest questions before I tried them.

No, not in the horrible traditional lip-gloss way.

The finish is glossy and shiny, but the formula is designed to avoid a greasy or sticky feel. Aroma-Zone describes the finish as a mirror-like shine without a sticky or greasy sensation.

For me, this is a really important distinction.

I want glossy lips.

I do not want my hair permanently attached to my mouth.

The Aroma-Zone lip oils give me the shine without that horrible tackiness.

Do Aroma-Zone lip oils have colour?

Some do and some don’t.

The Transparent Icy Effect Lip Oil is essentially clear, with a fresh, pearlescent finish.

The Tinted Lip Oils give you a subtle veil of colour rather than an opaque lipstick effect. They currently come in shades including Pomegranate Red and Passion Orange, with the colour coming from plant-based pigments.

And I LOVE this kind of colour for everyday.

Which Aroma-Zone lip oil is best?

This is completely personal, but I think it depends on what you want from your lip oil.

If you want clear, ultra-glossy lips with a cooling and plumping effect, I’d go for the Transparent Icy Effect Lip Oil.

If you want something that gives you a hint of colour as well as shine and lip care, I’d go for one of the Tinted Lip Oils.

For everyday, I’m particularly drawn to the tinted version because it gives me that effortless your lips but better effect.

Equally, I can absolutely see myself keeping the transparent one in my handbag for those days when I just want that glassy, juicy lip.

Can you wear Aroma-Zone lip oil on its own?

Absolutely.

This is actually one of my favourite ways to wear it.

I don’t always want to put together a full makeup look. Sometimes I’ll have a little concealer, mascara, brows and a bit of bronzer and then just swipe on my Aroma-Zone lip oil. It's super versatile.

It instantly makes everything look more polished.

You can also layer a tinted lip oil over lip liner or lipstick if you want more definition and colour.

Can you wear Aroma-Zone lip oil over lipstick?

Yes, and I think this is where lip oils are brilliant.

Apply your lipstick or lip liner first and then add a little lip oil over the top.

It gives a more dimensional, glossy finish and makes a matte or satin lipstick look much more fresh.

I tend to concentrate it towards the centre of my lips for that slightly fuller-looking effect.

How often can you apply Aroma-Zone lip oil?

As often as you like.

Aroma-Zone recommends applying the lip oil to the lips and reapplying whenever needed.

For me, this is very much one of those products that gets used throughout the day.

I’ll put it on in the morning, reapply after eating, add another layer before going out and inevitably put it on again simply because I like how it looks.

Are Aroma-Zone lip oils vegan?

Yes.

The current Aroma-Zone lip oils are described as vegan, and the tinted lip oil is also certified Cosmos Organic. Aroma-Zone states that its tinted lip oil is 100% natural-origin and uses plant-based colourants.

The transparent lip oil is also listed by Aroma-Zone as 100% natural-origin and vegan.

Are Aroma-Zone lip oils natural?

This is another big selling point for me.

The Transparent Icy Effect Lip Oil is listed as 100% natural origin, while the Tinted Lip Oil is also described as having a 100% natural-origin formula.

Aroma-Zone's wider philosophy is very much centred around natural-origin formulas and active ingredients, with its own formulation and R&D teams working on its products.

Are Aroma-Zone lip oils suitable for dry lips?

I would say they’re particularly lovely if your lips are feeling dry or lacking that soft, smooth look.

They’re not simply giving you a layer of shine; the formulas are designed around hydration and nourishment too.

The combination of hyaluronic acid and plant oils is what makes these feel more like a lip treatment with makeup benefits to me.

That said, if your lips are extremely cracked or damaged, I’d still reach for a dedicated intensive lip balm or treatment first.

How long do Aroma-Zone lip oils last?

This is probably the one area where I wouldn’t expect a lip oil to behave like a long-wear lipstick.

It’s a glossy treatment product, so eating, drinking and generally living your life will obviously reduce the shine.

But that doesn’t bother me, I simply reapply a touch up.

I’d rather reapply something that feels lovely and nourishing than have a product sitting on my lips for ten hours that feels dry and uncomfortable.

And because the Aroma-Zone lip oils are so easy to throw in my handbag, reapplication is absolutely not an issue.

How much are Aroma-Zone lip oils?

Now THIS is where I think Aroma-Zone gets really exciting.

At the time of writing, the Aroma-Zone Transparent Icy Effect Lip Oil is £5 for 4ml, and the Tinted Lip Oils are also £5 for 4ml.

£5.

Honestly, I think that is brilliant.

Especially when you consider that you’re getting a product that combines the look of a gloss with skincare-style ingredients and a plumping effect.

Aroma-Zone is known for keeping its prices accessible, and the company explains that its direct sourcing model and reduced reliance on intermediaries are part of how it can offer products at lower prices.

So if you’re someone who loves trying new beauty products but doesn't want to spend £25, £30 or more on every lip product that catches your eye, these are a really easy one to try.

Do check the current price before buying though, as beauty prices and promotions can change.

Are Aroma-Zone lip oils worth it?

For me, 100% yes.

I think the reason I’ve become so obsessed with them is that they tick so many boxes at once.

They’re glossy.

They’re comfortable.

They make my lips look smoother and fuller.

They give me that juicy, hydrated look.

The tinted versions add a really pretty wash of colour.

They’re easy to wear.

And they’re £5.

What’s not to love?

I also really like the fact that Aroma-Zone has managed to make something that feels like a little luxury beauty treat without attaching a luxury price tag to it.

My final thoughts on Aroma-Zone lip oils

I think I’ve found one of my new handbag beauty essentials.

I’m always looking for those little products that make me feel instantly more put together without actually requiring any effort, and Aroma-Zone lip oils have become exactly that for me. They’re the sort of thing I can swipe on with absolutely no mirror, no lip brush and no faffing around and immediately get that gorgeous glossy, healthy-looking lip.

If you love lip oils, glossy lips, natural beauty, affordable beauty products or that effortless my lips but better makeup look, I genuinely think Aroma-Zone lip oils are worth trying.

And at just £5, I don’t think you need much convincing.

I’ve been reaching for mine constantly and I can already tell that these are going to be one of those beauty discoveries I keep repurchasing. Aroma-Zone lip oils are proof that you really don’t have to spend a fortune to get gorgeous, glossy, nourished-looking lips, and honestly, I’m very happy I discovered them.
