Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has etched his name into the record books after becoming the fastest bowler in T20 cricket history to claim 350 wickets.

The landmark achievement came during a Vitality Blast fixture against Leicestershire, where the experienced right-arm pacer delivered another impressive performance and finished with four wickets.

With the latest scalps, Hasan reached 350 T20 wickets in only 243 matches, setting a new world record in the format. The previous record belonged to Afghanistan star Rashid Khan, who had completed 350 wickets in 251 matches.

The achievement is another major milestone in Hasan’s career, highlighting his consistency and effectiveness across domestic leagues and franchise tournaments around the world. Known for his ability to strike with the new ball and deliver breakthroughs in the middle overs, Hasan has remained a key performer in T20 cricket for several years.

The 31-year-old first gained international prominence during Pakistan’s triumphant ICC Champions Trophy campaign in 2017, where he finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker and played a crucial role in helping Pakistan lift the title.

Since then, Hasan has represented Pakistan across formats while also building an impressive record in T20 competitions in different countries. His ability to generate movement, bowl variations and perform under pressure has made him one of Pakistan’s most successful white-ball bowlers of the modern era.

Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has reportedly been left out of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Test plans as part of a major restructuring of the national red-ball setup.

According to reports, the PCB has invited 49 players to a training camp in Lahore, with 22 players selected for the red-ball camp and 27 players placed in the white-ball group. Shaheen’s name is reportedly absent from the Test camp squad, signaling what could be a significant shift in Pakistan’s long-term red-ball strategy.

While the left-arm pacer has not been included in the Test group, he remains part of the white-ball setup and is expected to join the ODI and T20 camp. Reports indicate that the white-ball camp will begin on June 15, while preparations for Pakistan’s upcoming West Indies tour are expected to start shortly afterward.

The reported move comes despite Shaheen being one of Pakistan’s most successful fast bowlers in recent years. The 26-year-old made his Test debut against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi in December 2017 and has claimed 126 wickets in 34 Test matches.

His most recent Test appearance came against Bangladesh in Mirpur in May 2026. During that match, Shaheen returned figures of 3/113 in the first innings and 2/54 in the second innings, but Pakistan suffered a 104-run defeat. He was subsequently left out of the second Test in Sylhet.

Reports suggest selectors and team management have raised concerns over a decline in his bowling pace during the Bangladesh series. Shaheen, who has regularly bowled above 140 km/h during his career, was reportedly unable to generate his usual speed consistently during the tour.

Another factor believed to have influenced the decision is his limited involvement in domestic first-class cricket. According to reports, PCB officials feel a lack of regular red-ball cricket may have affected his effectiveness and rhythm in the longer format.

Despite the reported exclusion from Test plans, Shaheen remains a central figure in Pakistan’s white-ball setup and continues to lead the national ODI side. His future in Test cricket, however, now appears uncertain following the latest developments.

Neither the PCB nor Shaheen Afridi has officially commented on the reports so far.

England secured a dominant 115-run victory over New Zealand in the first Test at Lord’s on Sunday, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Chasing a target of 254, New Zealand struggled against England’s pace attack and were dismissed for just 138 before lunch on the fourth day. Fast bowler Gus Atkinson starred with figures of 5-30, registering his fourth five-wicket haul in an innings in just three Tests at the historic venue.

Ollie Robinson on…

– Winning POTM
– That incredible first over
– England's seam bowling attack
– Working under Brendon McCullum

And so much more!
— England Cricket (@englandcricket) June 7, 2026

The victory came in the 150th Test match played at Lord’s, the most Test matches hosted by any cricket ground in the world. It also marked a strong start for England following their difficult Ashes campaign in Australia, which ended with a 4-1 series defeat in January.

Bowlers dominated throughout the match as overcast conditions and a pitch offering uneven bounce created challenging batting conditions for both teams.

New Zealand’s first innings lasted only 113 runs, with Ollie Robinson making an impressive return to England’s Test side after more than two years away. The seamer produced career-best Test figures of 5-39, while Josh Tongue supported him with three wickets.

England had earlier been bowled out for 140 in their first innings despite a fighting 56 from Harry Brook. New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson led the visitors’ attack with excellent figures of 5-62.

After gaining a first-innings lead, England strengthened their position in the second innings. Debutant Emilio Gay impressed with a composed 57, helping the hosts reach 226 and set New Zealand a challenging target. Nathan Smith was the standout bowler for the visitors, taking 6-70.

However, New Zealand never threatened the target in the fourth innings as Atkinson ripped through the batting order to seal a comprehensive win for the home side.

Brief Scores:

England 1st Innings: 140 all out (Harry Brook 56; Kyle Jamieson 5-62, Nathan Smith 3-38)

New Zealand 1st Innings: 113 all out (Ollie Robinson 5-39, Josh Tongue 3-40)

England 2nd Innings: 226 all out (Emilio Gay 57; Nathan Smith 6-70)

New Zealand 2nd Innings: 138 all out (Gus Atkinson 5-30)

Result: England won by 115 runs

Series: England lead the three-match series 1-0

The second Test of the series will also be played in London, with action moving to The Oval on June 17 as England look to extend their advantage and New Zealand aim to level the contest.

Captains of the teams competing in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup came together in London on Sunday for the tournament’s official trophy photo shoot ahead of the highly anticipated event, which begins on June 12.

The ceremony was held at Waterloo Bridge and featured the captains of all participating nations alongside the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup trophy. ICC Chairman Jay Shah and ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta attended the launch event as special guests and joined the players during the official proceedings.

One of the moments that attracted significant attention was the interaction between Pakistan captain Fatima Sana and ICC Chairman Jay Shah. During the event, both Jay Shah and Sanjog Gupta greeted the Pakistan skipper and exchanged handshakes with her.

Gupta was also seen standing beside Fatima Sana during the official group photograph, a moment that quickly gained traction across social media platforms.

Many users described the exchange as a symbolic “Pakistan-India handshake,” highlighting the sporting rivalry and historic cricketing relationship between the two neighboring countries.

As part of the event, all team captains arrived together on a single bus before participating in promotional activities, media engagements and the official trophy photo session.

The captains expressed confidence in their respective teams and said they were looking forward to the challenges of the tournament. They also interacted with supporters, signed autographs and spent time with fans who gathered in large numbers to witness the launch ceremony.

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will get underway on June 12, bringing together the leading women’s cricket teams from around the world in a bid to win the sport’s most prestigious global title. With preparations complete and excitement building, the tournament is set to showcase some of the best talent in women’s international cricket.

Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has officially become the youngest cricket chief in the country’s history after being elected president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday.

Tamim’s appointment comes just weeks after he was named interim president of the board, a role he assumed following major changes in Bangladesh cricket administration. The 37-year-old, who retired from international cricket in 2023, has repeatedly stressed the need to rebuild the image of Bangladesh cricket on the global stage.

Cricket in Bangladesh has faced significant challenges in recent years, particularly after the political upheaval that followed the 2024 uprising, which led to the removal of long-time ruler Sheikh Hasina. Following elections earlier this year, the new government dissolved the previous BCB over allegations of “gross irregularities” and installed an interim board headed by Tamim.

The former opener strengthened his position on Sunday by winning the board election in convincing fashion. Tamim received 73 votes from 75 councillors and finished ahead of a field of 16 candidates competing for 12 director positions.

During the board’s first meeting after the election, Fahim Sinha was elected vice-president after receiving 66 votes.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, Tamim acknowledged the challenges ahead and called for collective efforts to improve the sport’s standing.

“We all have to keep one thing in mind, which is that the reputation damage that Bangladesh cricket has suffered worldwide, I alone cannot fix this.”

“I will need everyone’s support here,” he added.

Bangladesh cricket has been under international scrutiny in recent months. Under the previous administration, Bangladesh refused to participate in this year’s T20 World Cup in India, citing security concerns following fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman’s release by IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. The International Cricket Council subsequently rejected Bangladesh’s request to relocate its matches to Sri Lanka and removed the team from the tournament.

Tamim enters the role as one of the most accomplished cricketers in Bangladesh’s history. During a 15-year international career, he scored more than 15,000 runs across formats and remains the only Bangladeshi player to score centuries in Tests, One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals.

England suffered a remarkable batting collapse on the second day of the first Test against New Zealand at Lord’s, losing four wickets for just one run and allowing the visitors back into the contest after appearing to take control of the match.

The hosts were comfortably placed at 126-2 in their second innings before New Zealand’s bowlers triggered a stunning collapse that reduced England to 127-6. By tea, England had recovered slightly to reach 166-6, holding a lead of 193 runs on a pitch that continued to offer plenty of assistance to the bowlers.

Jamie Smith provided much-needed resistance with an unbeaten 31, while New Zealand seamer Nathan Smith led the fightback with impressive figures of 3-49.

England resumed their innings positively after building on a first-innings lead. Emilio Gay, making his Test debut, produced a composed innings and reached his maiden Test fifty from 84 balls, striking seven boundaries.

The left-hander had earlier benefited from New Zealand’s failure to review an lbw appeal when he was on 24. Television replays later showed he would have been out had the visitors challenged the decision.

Gay continued to make the most of his reprieve before eventually falling for 57, caught behind off Nathan Smith with England on 126-3.

That dismissal sparked a dramatic collapse. Harry Brook, who had scored a half-century in the first innings, was trapped lbw by Will O’Rourke without scoring. Joe Root followed soon after for eight, also dismissed leg-before by Nathan Smith.

England captain Ben Stokes then fell for a duck when Nathan Smith produced a superb delivery that angled into the left-hander before clipping the top of off stump.

Earlier in the day, England’s bowlers wrapped up New Zealand’s first innings for just 113 after the visitors resumed overnight on 61-6.

Ollie Robinson starred on his return to the Test side, claiming his fourth five-wicket haul in Test cricket. Playing his first Test match in more than two years, the Sussex fast bowler finished with outstanding figures of 5-39 from 10.1 overs.

Robinson had already put England in command on the opening day with a devastating spell that included a triple-wicket maiden and figures of 4-10 in six overs as New Zealand collapsed late on Thursday.

He completed his five-wicket haul on Friday by bowling Matt Henry for a duck, leaving New Zealand trailing England’s first-innings total of 140 by 27 runs.

New Zealand’s innings lasted fewer than 30 overs, with all-rounder Glenn Phillips unable to provide significant resistance. Phillips, unbeaten on 31 overnight, added only three more runs before Josh Tongue knocked over his off stump.

Tongue finished with figures of 3-40, while Kyle Jamieson, who had taken five wickets in England’s first innings, top-scored for New Zealand with an unbeaten 38.

Former Australia fast bowler Shaun Tait has resigned from his role as Bangladesh’s fast bowling coach with immediate effect, ending a 12-month stint with the national team.

Tait confirmed on Thursday that he had decided to step away from the position to spend more time with his young family after working with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) over the past year.

“My 12 months with the BCB and the Bangladesh national team was fulfilling,” Tait told ESPNcricinfo. “I want to thank the BCB. I really enjoyed working with the players. I have a great relationship with the fast bowling group. They were good to work with and I created some really good relationships in Bangladesh, around the cricketing community in general.”

The former speedster added that he does not view his departure as the end of his association with cricket in Bangladesh.

“I don’t think that’ll be the closed door on my time in the country. There’s obviously BPL and what not. You never know what the future holds. But for the time being, my young family need a bit more of my time. So, the full-time role of year-round red and white-ball cricket, my 12 months was enough and it’s time to just step back and give my family a little bit more time.”

Tait joined Bangladesh in May last year after being appointed fast bowling coach until November 2027, succeeding former New Zealand all-rounder Andre Adams.

During his tenure, Bangladesh’s pace attack made significant progress and emerged as a major strength of the national side. One of the standout achievements under Tait’s guidance was Bangladesh’s historic 2-0 Test series victory over Pakistan.

In a recent interview, Tait had expressed confidence in Bangladesh’s pace bowlers, stating that it was time for the team to embrace fast bowling as one of its key strengths.

The 42-year-old has extensive coaching experience, having previously worked with Pakistan and Afghanistan, while also serving with Chittagong Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

According to reports, the BCB is considering former Bangladesh fast bowler Talha Jubair as a temporary replacement for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia. Bangladesh will host Australia in a three-match ODI series beginning on June 9 in Dhaka.

Tait’s departure comes just days before the series, leaving Bangladesh searching for a new pace bowling coach as they prepare for a busy international schedule.

Pakistan secured a four-wicket victory over Australia in the third and final One-Day International at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday, sealing the three-match series 2-1 and registering a third consecutive bilateral ODI series triumph over the six-time world champions.

The hosts produced a disciplined all-round performance, led by captain Shaheen Shah Afridi with the ball and Babar Azam and Shadab Khan with the bat, to chase down a target of 158 in 41.5 overs.

After winning the toss, Australia captain Josh Inglis opted to bat first, but Pakistan struck immediately when Shaheen removed opener Matthew Short for a duck with the second ball of the innings.

Australia attempted to recover through Marnus Labuschagne and Inglis, who added 46 runs for the second wicket before Labuschagne was run out for 19 following a direct hit from Arafat Minhas. Inglis then shared a 52-run stand with Alex Carey, who scored 19 before Haris Rauf broke the partnership.

The turning point came in the 27th over when Shaheen dismissed both Inglis and Cameron Green in quick succession. Inglis top-scored for Australia with 65 off 71 balls, hitting eight fours and a six.

Pakistan’s bowlers maintained the pressure as Abrar Ahmed removed Matt Renshaw and Cooper Connolly, while Shadab Khan accounted for Oliver Peake and Adam Zampa. Nathan Ellis was run out off the final ball of the innings as Australia were bowled out for 157 in 42 overs.

Shaheen finished with outstanding figures of 3-30 in eight overs, while Abrar Ahmed returned 2-19 and Shadab Khan claimed 2-28. Haris Rauf picked up one wicket.

Pakistan’s chase got off to a shaky start when Sahibzada Farhan was bowled by Ellis for six in the third over. Maaz Sadaqat then counterattacked with a brisk 27 from 26 deliveries, striking five boundaries before falling leg-before-wicket to Matthew Short.

Babar Azam anchored the innings with a patient 40 off 84 balls, including three fours. The former captain added useful partnerships with Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Salman Ali Agha and Arafat Minhas to keep Pakistan on track despite the difficult batting conditions.

However, Pakistan found themselves in trouble at 112-6 after Babar was dismissed by Matthew Kuhnemann and Arafat Minhas departed shortly afterwards.

With the match finely balanced, Shadab Khan and Abdul Samad combined for an unbeaten 49-run seventh-wicket partnership to guide Pakistan home. Shadab remained unbeaten on 29 from 42 balls, while Abdul Samad contributed an unbeaten 18 from 30 deliveries.

For Australia, Matthew Kuhnemann was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-38 from his 10 overs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was named Player of the Match for his match-winning spell, while Arafat Minhas earned the Player of the Series award.

Series Results:

• 1st ODI – Pakistan won by five wickets at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
• 2nd ODI – Australia won by 41 runs at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
• 3rd ODI – Pakistan won by four wickets at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore

Scores in Brief:

Australia 157 all out in 42 overs (Josh Inglis 65, Marnus Labuschagne 19, Alex Carey 19; Shaheen Shah Afridi 3-30, Abrar Ahmed 2-19, Shadab Khan 2-28)

Pakistan 161-6 in 41.5 overs (Babar Azam 40, Shadab Khan 29 not out, Maaz Sadaqat 27, Abdul Samad 18 not out, Salman Ali Agha 15; Matthew Kuhnemann 3-38)

Pakistan won by four wickets and claimed the series 2-1.

India have suffered a major setback ahead of their ODI series against Afghanistan, with star batter Virat Kohli ruled out after sustaining a hamstring injury.

A BCCI source confirmed to PTI that the former India captain will miss the three-match series, which begins on June 13 in Dharamsala. The remaining matches are scheduled to be played in Lucknow on June 17 and Chennai on June 20.

Kohli’s absence comes at a time when he has been enjoying a rich run of form. The 37-year-old was one of the standout performers in the IPL 2026 season, playing a crucial role in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s successful title-winning campaign.

The veteran batter scored 675 runs during the tournament, including one century and five half-centuries, helping RCB secure back-to-back IPL titles. He also played an important role in the final against Gujarat Titans, finishing the chase and underlining his importance to the side.

Known for his fitness and consistency, Kohli has remained one of the leading batters in world cricket despite being in the later stages of his career. His injury will force India to rethink their batting plans for the Afghanistan series.

India are also awaiting clarity on the fitness of captain Rohit Sharma, who is recovering from a hamstring injury suffered during the IPL. His participation in the series remains uncertain and will depend on medical clearance.

The absence of both senior stars has once again sparked discussion about India’s long-term ODI plans as the team prepares for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup in South Africa. Kohli and Rohit have not featured regularly in Test cricket recently, leading to increased attention on their workload management and future roles in international cricket.

New Zealand seized complete control of the opening day of the first Test against England at Lord’s after a devastating bowling performance reduced the hosts to 118-8 before bad light forced an early tea on Thursday.

Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson produced an outstanding spell of pace bowling, claiming 4-50 in 11.1 overs as England’s batting lineup struggled in challenging conditions. The visitors capitalised on a lively surface after captain Tom Latham won the toss and chose to bowl first in the opening match of the three-Test series.

England’s only meaningful resistance came from Harry Brook, who battled his way to 56 runs. However, the right-hander survived two dropped catches during his innings as New Zealand otherwise delivered a sharp and disciplined display in the field.

The home side suffered an early setback when debutant Emilio Gay, selected in place of the dropped Zak Crawley, was dismissed for eight. Gay began his Test career positively by striking his first ball for four but edged Jamieson to Daryl Mitchell in the slips with England on 16.

Rain interrupted play and brought an early lunch, with England reaching 24-1 from 10 overs. The collapse gathered pace once play resumed.

Nathan Smith trapped opener Ben Duckett lbw for 19 before Jacob Bethell suffered the same fate against Will O’Rourke. England quickly slipped to 33-3 as New Zealand’s seamers exploited the conditions expertly.

O’Rourke then removed former captain Joe Root for just one run, forcing an edge behind the wicket. Wicketkeeper Jamie Smith also managed only one before Jamieson delivered a sharp ball that cut back and crashed into his off stump.

Brook attempted to counterattack after receiving an early reprieve when Devon Conway dropped a chance at backward point. The England batter responded with a series of attractive boundaries and briefly steadied the innings alongside captain Ben Stokes, who was playing on his 35th birthday.

The partnership was short-lived. Stokes struck Jamieson for a boundary but soon edged the same bowler to Kane Williamson at second slip. Williamson completed a superb one-handed diving catch to send the England captain back for 12, leaving the hosts reeling at 94-6.

Brook continued to fight and reached his half-century from just 64 deliveries, hitting nine fours. He was handed another lifeline on 45 when Rachin Ravindra dropped a straightforward chance at deep midwicket.

The missed opportunity proved costly as Brook pushed on to fifty, but Jamieson eventually ended his resistance. After dismissing Gus Atkinson lbw for four, the New Zealand paceman saw Brook hole out to long leg shortly after reaching his half-century.
