There are actually two ways to generate backlinks from tumblr. I have discussed about both of them here. These backlinks may not generate you good traffic directly. Re-blogging and liking other posts :

Before following this method you need to do some changes with regard to your settings. This is the most important step in that and if you fail to do that you will not generate backlinks to your blog. Below I have shown you on what you need to change in your settings and how to do it.

1. Login to your Tumblr account.

2. Navigate to the Blog Settings page.

3. There you can find a checkbox saying "Use Custom Domain Name". Check that box and below would appear a text in which you need to add the domain of your blog.

4. Now scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the save button.

Now that you have made all changes to your settings page and now the next thing that you need to do is to generate back links to your site. This can be done either by liking other tumblr site's posts or by re-blogging them. I would recommend you to like other posts as it can be done in one click whereas re-blogging them requires two clicks and it would consume some time.

The next thing is to find good PR blogs. This can be done with the help of a plugin called as SEO quake which can be added to Chrome, Firefox, Opera and also Safari. You can download for the respective browsers from the following links.

And so now lets get started in the process of finding good PR blogs. To do so follow the steps below :

1. Navigate your browser to Google.

2. In the search box type in the following

3. You will get the results. Just wait for a moment and now the plugin which you installed would show its magic. It would show the PR of the resulting links along with other details.

4. Click on the blog which has a high PR. It would redirect you to that respective blog. Click on any of the post there. As you are logged in to tumblr it would show you a few buttons at the top right of the blog. There you can find a heart symbol. Click on that. It would turn red indicating that you have liked that particular post you are on.

5. Wait for a few seconds and reload the page a couple of times. Now scroll down to the end of the post. You can see some like your-username liked this where your-username would be replaced with your username. And when you click on your username it would take it to your blog.

And Hurray ! you have generated a good quality backlink from a good PR blog. Using this method could rapidly increase your traffic even in days. Use this method to generate atleast 10 backlinks per day.

The Other Method :

This method would generate direct backlink from Tumblr. This is just like posting a small snippet of your post to your tumblr blog. This would generate you baclink from Tumblr which is a PR 8 website !

You MUST use different tumblr accounts to follow both the methods mentioned above. As in the first method you just change the setting which says use a custom domain but you are not changing anything with regard to your name servers.

There is an easy way to follow this method. There are lots of websites round the web which would post about your latest article to your Facebook page, Twitter etc. One of the website is dlvr.it. This site also has an option to add this post to your tumblr blog.

This would help you in easily add about it to your Tumblr blog just like you do it to your Facebook page and to your Twitter.

Dropbox is one of the leading cloud providers over the web. Well lots and lots of people use dropbox nowadays and they sync their files through their mobiles, computers, tablets etc. But however when you upload a file to dropbox it provides you a very long URL for you to access the file. Why dont you use your own domain with dropbox ? And this would greatly simplify the URL of your files in Dropbox. So lets get started and see on how to do it.

Getting started :

The thing that you are gonna need for this tutorial is a web host. There are lots and lots of free web hosts that are available round the web and you can choose one among them.

Setting Up Your Host :

As I mentioned earlier there are lots of free web hosting providers who are available round the web and in this tutorial I would be using a hosting service named as Koolserve. Create an account there and proceed to the following steps.

1. Login to the cPanel of your account whose details would be given in the email which you got on confirmation.

2. Find the panel which says Domains and in that select Subdomains.

3. Enter any name in the field provided. I would recommend you to add the name as dropbox. And click on create. Make sure that the next field says public_html/THE-NAME-YOU-PROVIDED.

4. Now come back to your cPanel and enter into the File Manager.

5. Navigate to public_html/THE_NAME_YOU_PROVIDED.

6. Come Back to the cPanel and again enter the File manager. But this time make sure that you check the box which says Show Hidden Files.

7. Enter into the folder with the name of your sub domain and there you can find a file called as .htaccess. Right click the file and click edit file. Enter the following lines of codes in it. Dont forget to replace DROPBOX_ID with your Dropbox ID.

Replace http://dl.dropbox.com/u/49153242 with example.123.com so that it becomes example.123.com/new/readme.html.

1. Go To pages and click on edit in the about page.

2. Go To HTML mode and add the following code replacing YOUR GOOGLE PLUS URL with the URL of your Google Plus account.

3. Click on edit profile.

4. Switch to the About tab.

5. Scroll down to find the Contributor To section. And add a link to your blog in that. And then click on Done Editing to save your profile.

Now that you have shown your Authorship Markup. To confirm it follow the below steps :

Fire up your browser and navigate to this link.
In the text box provided enter any link to your post and click on preview
Below you can see the preview of how it appears in search results.
And below that you can see the status of your Google Authorship Verification.
If it doesn't show any error then you are all done.
It would show your picture by the side of the preview.

For many days I too have been searching a solution for this problem. And finally I found the solution. Its just a chrome extension that enables you to work offline in gmail. Even this extension has been created by Google officially. They have even announced it on the Gmail blog. So here is how you access gmail offline.

Thing you will need :

1. Chrome Browser

2. Internet connection to install the app.

3.Gmail account to access.

So lets see on how to add this extension and set it up for working in offline mode..

1. Open up your browse (Chrome or chromium)

2. Navigate to this page.

3. Click on the add to chrome button there so that it starts to download and completes installation of the extension in your browser.

4. After it has installed a new tab will open up and you will see the Offline Google Mail there below the apps tab.

5. Click on that and now you will be taken to a page where you are gonna set it up.

6. You will be shown the following page.

7. Click on the allow offline mail option and then the continue. If this page dint appear then you might probably have to login to your google account and then continue to this step.

8. And yes now you are in your inbox. Disconnect your internet connection and try it out.

How to install android on your PC.

Android is one of the most poular mobile OS found in the market. iOS is a huge competition for android. But however android is free of cost. That single feature would easily defeat iOS. Most of the people in India dont have an android mobile and they are just waiting to see the appearance of android including me. Even I am a crazy fan of android and I too love to see the appearance of it. A few days back I got a tutorial on how to install android on a pc. I thought that it wouldn't work. But to my surprise I successfully installed android and it now dual boots along with ubuntu on my system. Now I am here to share about the topic. Now lets get started.

Things You Will Need :

Android x-86 (Download link below)
A PC
A pendrive or any other memory devices
Unet Bootin (Download link below)

Now lets start to install it.

1. Download a copy of Android x-86 from the official android website. You can download it from here.

2. Download the latest release. (the size would be upto 50 - 60 MB)

3. Now you have to download Unet Bootin. Download Link

4. Open Unet Bootin and you will see the following screen. Change the Disk Image to ISO and browse for the ISO file that you have downloaded from android official website. Change the Type to USB drive and change the drive letter to your USB drive's letter.

5. Click on the OK button. The process will take a few seconds or minutes depending on the speed of your computer.

6. Now reboot your system and enter your BIOS. Change the Boot Priority so that USB drive comes first followed by hard drive or CD drive depending on your wish.

7. Now reboot your system. Your system will boot from your USB drive and the following screen will be in front of you.

8. Now click on the Run Android without installation if you wanna run it without installing on your hard disk. If you wanna install it, click on the fourth option and continue the installation process. Its similar like that of normal operating systems.

If you are running from the live CD then you must see the following screen. (Android Desktop)

Now you are looking at your android desktop. Note that android might not that much efficient on some PC's. You can also use the android maket.

Hey there guys. Gmail is one of the best email services available there. And Firefox is one of the best browser standing next to IE. You might have seen people sending emails along with signatures which are very attractive and that they can be created only with HTML. So why dont you create your own HTML signature with your own HTML knowledge. I just love to send emails with HTML signatures since they are really really attractive. So now lets see on how to create it.

Things you will need :

1. Gmail account.

2. Firefox browser

3. Firefox addons (Links given below)

4. HTML knowledge. (If you are gonna use the second addon you dont need that too.)

So now lets get started :

1. Open up your firefox browser.

2. Now install this addon.

3. Open up your Gmail account.

4. And click on the compose mail option.

5. Now in here you will see two icons to the top of the "To" field.

6. Click on the Add a new signature icon which is one the left most.

7. A new text field will appear below the To field where you have to enter your HTML code and you have to click on the save button.

5. A new window will open up saying Wise Stamp Preferences.

6. This is where you have to edit your signature.

7.Complete editing your signature.

8. And click on the "Ok" button.

How to create a facebook application for your Blog.

And how about creating a facebook app. Yes guys. You might have seen and you might have used many many apps as a facebook user. Creating a facebook app is really easy and that you should have some basic knowledge on web designing languages. And if you have a good knowledge you can easily create really great apps. If your becomes famous then facebook might pick you up for an internship. But lets not go that complex. Now we will be creating an app that will let users to see your blogs feed and they will also be able to subscribe to it. So lets get started :

2. Go to my3gb.com and create an account.
3. Go to your control panel and from there to your file manager.
4. Click on create a new directory and name it. (i have named as Cyber Freaks)
5. Rename your HTML document as index.html and upload the file into that directory.
6. Now open that file from my3gb.
7. Your file will be redirected to an URL as follows :

http://example.my3gb.com/Your%20Directory/index.html

Replace Example with your domain that you got while registering with my3gb and replace "Your" with the first name of your directory and "Directory" with the second name of your directory. If your directory does not have any second name then remove "%20Directory".

Do all modifications and note down that URL.

12. Now come back to facebook.

13. Click on the "On Facebook" link on the left sidebar.

14. In the page you will be asked to add some details. Enter the details as follows.

Canvas Page : Your own preference

Canvas URL : The URL of your hosted HTML file that you got in step 3.6. (Dont forget to add trailing slashes)

Secure Canvas URL : The URL of your hosted HTML file that you got in step 3.6. (with https:// instead of http://. If this does not work then leave that area blank)

Tab URL : The URL of your hosted HTML file.

And now save the changes. And thats it your app is ready now. Now lets add it to your facebook fan page.

Google Music - Get Invites and join...

Google has now started another new service called as Google music. Google music is a really easy way to manage music online. There is no such place online to manage music. But again just like Google plus it is still in its development stage and so it is not possible for all google users to join music. And it is available only in USA. But no worries. I will help you to use google music in any country using VPN. And so lets get started in using it.

Getting an invite :

1. I currently have only one invite. The one who asks for the invite first in the comments would get it.

And others dont worry. You can also get invites directly from google. And for that you have to visit Google music's official site. When you visit the site from countries outside US you will be shown a apology message like the following.

And if you wanna visit this site from countries outside US then you have to use VPN services. Most of the VPN services charge you a cost. But here is a trick to get free VPN account from VPNOD. But this is a beta account and VPNOD will soon ban this trick. So hurry up. Here are the steps to get VPN account.

1. Login to your Gmail or Ymail or any other mailing service that you use.

2. Compose a mail.

3. Fill this address in the "To" field : promotion@vpod.com

4. Fill this in the subject field : vpnod

5. Now send the email without any content.

Soon you will receive a mail with the details of your VPN account

In the destination field type : VPNOD

9. Now they will ask for your username and password. Enter the username and password that you got in the mail from VPNOD.

10. And now that it will show a message saying connecting and finally it will be connected.

Users who already have an invite

1. Open up the mail with the invitation.

2. Click on the Get Started button there and now you are in.

Users who dont have an invite

1. Open up your browser and navigate to Google music.

2. Click on the Learn more button there.

3. In the top right of the following page you can see and "Request An Invitation" link. Click on that.

4. Now Login to your google account.

5. And in the following page you can request for an invite by click on the Request and Invite button.

It may take a while to get an invite. So be patient and get your invite. After you have got your invite you can login to your account.

IMPORTANT : DONT FORGET TO CONNECT YOUR VPN EVERY TIME TO USE YOUR GOOGLE MUSIC ACCOUNT.

Facebook is the best place for promoting any product. It may be a blog or a product or anything else. Almost all the enter pruners who are in facebook have their own page using which they can promote their product. And do you have a website and wanna promote it on facebook ? Here is a great way to add new tabs to your facebook page and it is powered by google ! And this is a large tutorial and just see below to get started.

1. Lets assume that you have a facebook account and a google account.

2. Login to your facebook account and search for developers in the search box in the header.

3. Click on the first result in the search or you can alternatively go to this URL. And you will be redirected to a page where you can create new apps.

4. Click on the create new app button in the top right of the page.

5. Enter the name of the tab that you wanna create in your facebook fan page and accept to the terms and click on the continue button. Enter the captcha and continue.

6. In the description field write the description of your tab. Upload an icon (the best one to choose is your blog's favicon.) And leave the other fields to defaults and click on the save changes button.

Now Open a new tab and navigate to google sites.

1. Login with your google account.

2. If you are using sites for the first time click on the Create site button in the following page.

3. In the resulting page you will be asked to enter all your details like entering a name for your site and the url and other details.

4. Expand the choose theme area and select the blank template.

5. Enter the captcha and click on the create a new site button.

6. Now you will be taken to the page where you can edit your website and do such other things.

7. In the top right you will see more actions click on that and enter the manage site option.

8. Now in the left sidebar click on general settings.

9. Now in the page de-select the show site name in the top of the pages option. We do this because you dont want the name of this site on your facebook page right. And click the save button.

10. Now click the site layout in the left sidebar and click on change site layout. Change the width to 500 px (because the width of facebook pages are only withing 550 px) and disable header and sidebar. Click Ok and save the changes.

11. Now below you will see something named as customize system footer links. A new popup will open and enable all the options in it. Click ok and save the changes.

12. Now that you have completed editing your settings and so click on the Return to site link in the left side bar.

13. You will be taken to the page that you got at the first after choosing the name and theme of your site.

14. In the top right you will see a button to create a page for your site. Click on that.

15. Enter a name of your page. In this example let it be Contact Us.

16. Let the other options to the default and click on create page button.

17. Add the content that you want to appear on the facebook tab and save the page.

18. Now again click on More Options > Page Settings and disable all the four check boxes there.

19. After saving the changes copy the URL of the page to clipboard.

Back To Facebook.

1. You must have opened google sites in a separate tab leaving facebook aside. Now again go back to the tab where you have opened developers in facebook.

2. Click on the "On facebook" link in the left side bar.

3. Now there in the page you will find the following settings to be edited.

Canvas Page : Any unique link to this app.

Canvas URL : The URL that you copied from Google sites (Note : Remove https and replace it with http)

Secure Canvas URL : The URL that you copied from Google sites (Note: Dont remove https)

Tab URL : The same as Canvas URL

Secure Tab URL : The same as Secure Canvas URL.

Dont forget to add trailing slashes to all the fields except for the canvas page field.

4. After editing the above options your page should look something like the below :

5. Now save it.

Implementing In Your Page.

1. In the same page in the left sidebar you will find a link called as "View app profile page". Click on that.

2. Now again in the page in the bottom of the left sidebar you will find a link named as "Add to my page" Click on that.

3. Now you will find a list of pages that you admin. Click on the page where you want it to appear. And thats it. You are done.

How to add google plus banners to your profile.

Google plus is now becoming a very great social network and it already has started to dominate the social network giant facebook. It is still in its development stage but even in this stage there are many new features that beats facebook. This tip you can apply to both facebook and google plus. First of all you might want to know what do i meanby a banner. A banner is a group photos that together display a meaningful picture. When someone visits your profile in facebook or G+ he will find a group of five photos in the top. If will just show his latest five pics. But why not make it as a meaningful picture. See the picture below to get a clear view about banners.

1. Create your own desired picture using photoshop or any image editing software.

2. Now fire up your browser and navigate to this page.

3. There in the top you will see a link to upload a photo.

4. Upload your photo.

5. You will be asked to crop your photo so that that part will appear on your G+ or facebook profile.

6. After you have uploaded the images click on the render button at the bottom left of the image.

7. Now you will get the preview of 5 images. Right click and save each and every image.

How to add threaded comments in Blogspot blogs.

Blogspot is really a good blogging platform and many people are using it. There are a few advantages in it. One of those disadvantages is that there is no threaded comments or in other words there is no reply option for comments. In wordpress by default almos every theme has this option. So what about blogspot. Yes you can add it, as usual by adding and editing the template. Well this is really easy if you follow the steps carefully.

1. Login to your blogspot account.

2. Navigate to Design > Edit HTMl and click the "Expand Widget Templates" box.

3. Now in the codes find the following one :

4. Paste the following codes diretly below the code that you found in step 3.

5. You have to replace YOUR BLOG ID with your own blog's ID to show the reply option in your blog.

6. If you dont know where you can find your blog's ID then enter into your blog and go to any page. (Ex : Posting, Design, Stats etc.)

7. Now there in the URL you will find your blog's ID right after "blogID="

8. Now that you have found your blog's ID and so replace it with YOUR BLOG ID in the code in step 4.

And now thats it save your template and your are done. You would get a good looking reply option like the one in the following image :

The advantages of using these codes are as follows.

When your users click on the reply to a comment link a new window will be opened where they can comment.
When they comment they will mention the user whom they are replying to.
The users have an option to be notified by follow up comments via email.

How to add floating share buttons in blogspot.

Blogger is really a good platform to blog and so many many famous bloggers are using blogspot as their blogging platform. When compared to wordpress blogger has less number of plugins. And also there is no option for installing plugins in blogspot. So each and every thing we do is add or edit the template using HTML and CSS. Adding share buttons are really easy in wordpress, they can be added by just adding the plugin Digg Digg which helps them to add share buttons under the posts or above the posts or even as floating. Adding share buttons in blogspot is not that much easy. We have to add codes to the template. It is easy for the users to add it. But its difficult for us developers to create it and this floating share buttons took me upto 1 hour to create it. I have created it for my own use but one of my friend Arun Sathiya (CEO @ webbuzz) asked me for the codes and so I decided to share it with you guys. So lets see on how to add it.

1. Login to your blogger account.

2. Navigate to Design > Page elements and a HTML / Java Script. Add the following codes to it.

1. In some of your templates the share buttons may appear to the right most to in the center of the post. You can bring it to the correct position by changing the value of margin-left in line 3. The more you increase the value the more the share buttons will go to the left.

2. You can add more share buttons add the following code snippet

Google plus is now becoming more popular day by day. But its new so not many widgets are available on google plus. Recently plusdev's have released Google plus widget for wordpress blogs. But what about blogspot blogs. Yes there is another service named as widget-plus that enables you to add a Google plus widget to your blogspot blog. Google plus widget is a widget that shows your profile picture and asks the users to add you to their circles. It acts similar to that of facebook's profile widget but it has an extra option of adding you to their circle. But this is not the official approach but the appearance looks great. So lets get started and see how to add it to your blogspot blog.

1. Lets assume that you have a google plus account.

2. Login to your google plus account and navigate to your profile.

3. There in your profiles URL you can find your profile's number that is displayed after the "plus.google.com/"

4. Note down that number and now fire up your browser to this page.

5. In that page click on the Get Widget button.

6. Now at the bottom of the same page you will see a settings box where you have to enter your Google ID which you got from step 3.

7. You can even include your feed and this is great in appearance when compared to the way that I mentioned in my previous post and even that was a long process.

8. Customize the widget to your needs and click the Get code button that appears in the place of Get Widget button that I mentioned in step 5.

9. Now you will get the code and a live preview of your settings. Copy this code.

10. Login to your blogger account. Navigate to Design > Page elements and add a HTML / Java Script element and add the codes that you got in step 9 and save it.

How to add your Google plus feed to your blog.

Google plus is now becoming more more popular and so many many new tricks are invading google plus and here is a new trick on google plus which may help bloggers. Most of you by this time must be in google plus. If you dont have one then feel free to ask an invite in the comments or contact me personally. Lets assume that you have a google plus account and you would like to add your google plus feeds to your blog (just like the twitter feed widget). Here is a way to do it. There is no official plugin for this widget but lets do this by doing some tweaks. Lets get started.

1. Login to your plus account.And navigate to your profile where you can find your # number. You can find your # number from your profile URL.

2. Now navigate to the following URL :

http://plusfeed.appspot.com/YOUR PROFILE # NUMNBER HERE

Paste it in your browser's address bar and dont forget to replace "YOUR PROFILE # NUMNBER HERE" with your own profile number that you got from step 1.

3. You will now see a page that shows some XML codes. Note down this URL and this is your feed's URL.

4. Now go to feedburner and enter the URL in the text box given there and click on the next button.

5. Now you will see a page where you can select a URL and a name for your feed enter your desired name and a URL that you feel as comfortable and click the next button.

6. And click the next button in the following pages too.

7. Now you will be shown a page where you will be asked to add your feed to blogger.Ignore that page and navigate to Publish tab on the top.

8. Click Buzz Boost in the left sidebar. Enter your needs and click on the activate button.

9. After you have activated it you will get an HTML code which you can add it to your blog to see your Google plus feed on your blog.

This feed will have a simple appearance. You can make some tweaks using CSS and add it to your site so that it suits to your site. But if your templates background is white then the default one will suit you.
