<itunes:summary>The Cowboys take a hit on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles in an attempt to rest their starters and injured players for their big game against the Giants this coming week. Their defense was able to hold the Eagles at 20 points, but they still gave up too many big plays to the Eagles. Not too much to say about the game since they pulled their best after the Giants game went final. They figured it more useful to take a loss rather than hurt their chances against the Giants.
Injury report from Valley Ranch! Tony Romo was in practice today and looked pretty good, but he was just throwing light passes, not straining it too much from what the media, who was let in late, could tell. The defense is a little bit banged up, but the offense should all be in attendance against the Giants.
Playoff Scenarios are in and there is only one! Win or go home. No ifs, ands, or buts. They have no choice but to take a W over the Giants or they saw goodbye until next season.
Both the Giants and the Cowboys are 8-7 and the NFC East is up for grabs. All hands on deck for the Cowboys, they need to get their ducks in a row and start their best and brightest– after all, this is the game that counts. The winner of the game will most likely play the Lions, but the Falcons are still a possibility, but unlikely.

<itunes:summary>The Cowboys shake off their previous loss to the Giants and roll the Tampa Bay Buccs. Romo lead a 1st half charge that gave them a 28-0 lead. He threw for 3 and ran in one to put the pressure on the Giants. After that, they rested their starters and switched on cruise control to finish off 31-15. The Giants weren’t so lucky and fell to the Redskins 23-10.
Update from Valley Ranch! The Running Back Blues continue as Felix Jones missed practice all week, but will hopefully be active this weekend against the Philly Eagles. WR Kevin Ogletree, or is it Ovaltine, has been in and out of practice, but still insists he’ll be playing in this weeks matchup.
The guys discuss playoff scenarios between the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, and Jets. If the Giants win, the DAL – PHI outcome is irrelevant, but if the Jets win, the Cowboys will need to kick some east-coast booty!
All the guys want for Christmas (besides the 2012 Cowboys cheerleader calendar) is for Dallas to smash Philly. People seem to have jumped back on the Phillidelphia “Dream Team” Eagles bandwagon from their previous back to back wins in the NFC East. If the Cowboys can win, they have a chance at the division title.
In holiday spirit, Cowboys DB Frank Walker sends out a little greeting to the Cowboys staff from the Janitors to Jerry Jones with a simple message– On a Budget, Merry Christmas ($1 was enclosed). Merry Christmas everyone!!

<itunes:summary>The guys slap their palms to their faces and look back at this Sunday’s game against the Giants. It’s the second week in a row that rookie kicker Dan Bailey has been iced (once by the Cowboys coach) which caused his FG attempt to be blocked late in the game. They managed to score 34 points, but lost the the Giants who made an epic recovery and ended up clinching the win by 3 points at 37. The guys don’t blame Bailey. If the offense had scored so much, it’s on the defense to, well, DEFEND those points! If they didn’t let the Giants roll them into a FG position, they wouldn’t have to offer their kicker as a whole offensive. Rob Ryan needs to stop thinking about a HC position and start figuring out how he is going to manage his defense for the time being.
The injury update from Valley Ranch comes in and it’s not pretty! RB DeMarco Murray has suffered from a fractured ankle and unfortunately is out for the rest of the season. Saftey Barry Church lands on the IR as well with a shoulder injury. In lieu of these injuries, the Cowboys have signed Sammy Morris and give him another chance after his run with the Patriots last year. QB Jon Kitna is thinking about retirement after a tough back injury puts him on the IR list as well. Kicker David Buehler has hip surgery so the Cowboys will need to rely on the rook, Dan Bailey. Finally, Phil Costa hasn’t and won’t be in practice until he passes a series of concussion tests after finding himself on the bench early during Sunday’s game.
Finally, the guys look ahead to Saturday night as the Cowboys face off against the Tampa Bay Buccs. It should be an easy W for the boys in blue, but if we’ve learned anything this year from other teams, its do not underestimate anyone! A few teams have fallen victim to its temptation where the heavily favored team looses to the underdog that was taken lightly- think SF @ ARI, DAL @ ARI, and BAL @ SEA, just to name a couple. This is the game for Rob Ryan to prove his worth as the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys. When you score 34 points, you should WIN the game!

<itunes:summary>Yes it was a horrible 19-17 overtime loss in the desert to the seemingly beatable Arizona Cardinals, but everyone is focusing on the wrong thing. Most want to talk about the timeout Jason Garrett called, in effect “icing his own kicker,” but those people are missing the real issue. Garrett’s failure, after the big completion to Dez Bryant at the Cardinals 31-yard line, in calling one of his two remaining time-outs with 25 seconds left on the clock is what cost the team the game. The Cowboys are not ready to make a deep playoff run because Garrett is coaching scared and Tony Romo is playing scared. Both seem so afraid of making a mistake on offense that they have stopped being aggressive enough on offense.
The news from Valley Ranch is largely positive. Miles Austin was back at practice today as was FB Tony Fiammetta. However the team is now without DeMarcus Ware and Laurent Robinson. Both appear to be okay and simply nursing minor injuries which should have them available this weekend.
The guys look ahead at the critical Week 14 matchup on Sunday Night Football: NY Giants at Dallas Cowboys! A huge game with plenty of playoff implications. The guys see this game going differently with Jeff being pessimistic about the outcome and Steven still believing. About the only thing worse than the Cowboys playing scared is Giants safety Antrel Rolle running his mouth and saying his team is going to the playoffs. “You ask will we make the playoffs? Without a doubt,” Rolle told WFAN-FM on Tuesday. “Without a doubt. We will be in that postseason.” Same guy who guaranteed the same thing last season. Let’s hope the outcome is the same — failure!</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>A Win is a win is a win, and with that, the guys look back at the 20-19 Thanksgiving victory over those pesky Dolphins. The Cowboys got the win at the wire and pulled it out on a last second kick by Dan Bailey. Steven was so nervous that he did not watch the final kick. He feels it better to have the skills guys punch it into the end-zone rather than leave fate on the end of a kicker’s foot. Bailey has now made 26 straight FGs, but that final kick might have earned Steven’s respect. The Big D secondary is still struggling, but what is missed is that Mike Jenkins did not play and this is a different team without him. The Dolphins took advantage of Orlando Scandrick, Alan Ball, and Frank Walker
The news from Valley Ranch is mixed as Miles Austin is still not practicing, but the team has not ruled him out for Sunday’s game. Jeff wants Miles to take his time and be strong for the playoffs. The team has had to part ways with Akwasi Owusu-Ansah to make room for FB Shaun Chapas. Chapas is coming in to play FB due to Tony Fiammetta’s undisclosed illness. Mike Jenkins is back at practice and he should be ready to play this weekend. WR Dez Bryant has been handling most of the punts during practice today with Owusu-Ansah now gone.
The guys peak ahead to the Week 13 matchup at Arizona. First things first, it looks like QB Kevin Kolb will start for the Cardinals this week. The Cowboys need to put teams like this away and not let them hang around. Go on and ride RB DeMarco Murray – Murray has shown he IS an every down back give him the ball 25-30 times. Cowboys have done a good job of cutting down on turnovers, now they need to focus on the penalties</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The guys take a look at the overtime victory over the Redskins 27-24. Steven says that with the Cowboys and Redskins rivalry being so heated, a win on the road is a good thing. Those games will always be tight. Jeff inadvertently compares Redskins WR Jabar Gaffney to Jar Jar Binks as the guys discuss Gaffney’s gaff on Twitter when he encouraged a Cowboys fan to kill himself.
During an injury report from Valley Ranch the guys share that four players were not at the final walk through practice available to the media on Wednesday. They included Miles Austin, Tony Fiammetta, Mike Jenkins and Gerald Sensabaugh. Steven says the offense showed it can still score and play without Austin and Fiametta, but the defense has struggled a bit lately and it hurts not to have Jenkins & Sensabaugh on the field
A look ahead at the Thanksgiving Game versus the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are riding a three game winning streak and here comes QB Matt Moore along with 11 other players or coaches that have played or coached in Dallas at one points in their careers. The Cowboys have to be careful that they do not looked passed this game and take care of Miami.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Cowboys are busily strutting around and showing all who will take notice just how good they can be. After a through 44-7 beat down of the Buffalo Bills in Week 10, the Boys are again feeling good about themselves. This was just the kind of win that could kick-start the Cowboys push to the playoffs. DeMarco Murray once again showcased his remarkable rookie-of-the-year skills while the much traveled, Laurent Robinson might just be the 3rd wide-out needed.
Inexplicably to Steven, DeMarcus Ware has been fined $15,000 for roughing the passer in Sunday’s win. The hit did not seem to be all that violent of a hit. Steven’s not even sure he hit the helmet. Jeff asks those who dole out the fines to remember that the game is not played at super slow-mo.
The Injury Update from Valley Ranch brings good news. RB Felix Jones is back at practice and looks to play in the game, though not as a starter. Jeff defends the decision to take Murray over Jones as the starting tail-back. WR Miles Austin still sits out with his hamstring injury. LB Sean (thumper) Lee will continue to play with a cast on his hand.
Looking ahead to the Washington Redskins at 3-6 has the guys terribly optimistic. Sure the Redskins would love to play spoiler for Cowboys playoff run, and their defense held the Cowboys without a TD last time they played. This is a retooled team with more weapons from last time and the guys see a big win in the immediate future.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The guys take a hard look back at the 23-13 win over the Seahawks last Sunday. While DeMarco Murray continues showing he indeed has mass skills, rushing for 139 yards, the Cowboys started slow, going in tied 6-6 at the half. Though all wins are good wins, the team’s inability to convert red-zone opportunities into touch-downs is concerning. The Cowboys are just under 40% in Red Zone chances. The league average is 60%. This must improve.
Cowboys injury updates coming from Valley Ranch have Sean Lee returning to practice the past two days with his entire left wrist and hand covered by a hard wrapped cast. He is scheduled to play on Sunday with THE CLUB. Felix Jones was not at practice again today and is most likely out for Sunday. Miles Austin remains out with a hamstring injury aggravated during the win over the Seahawks. And finally, the team has placed K David Buehler on the IR.
With eyes to the future, the guys look ahead to this weekend’s meeting with the Buffalo Bills. Those Bills are coming in at 5-3 after a devastating 27-11 loss to the Jets last week. Steven feels confident that if the Cowboys can slow Fred Jackson and apply pressure to Ryan Fitzpatrick they should will be fine and win by more than a touchdown. Offensively the Cowboys are the only ones stopping themselves. Eliminate turn-overs and it will be victory time. No Miles Austin means Laurent Robinson will get the start opposite Dez Bryant and will be asked to step up again. Jeff has the Cowboys by seven.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Steven and Jeff are back to help guide the Cowboys back to a winning record. The guys look back to just prior to their trip to London, a span that saw the Cowboys go 1-2 by losing a close game in New England, then beating up the then winless Rams, only to then getting beaten up by the Eagles.
A quick look back at that 34-7 loss against the Eagles and the guys talk about Rob Ryan’s defense inability to stop the Eagles on third downs, the loss of Sean Lee with a dislocated wrist and the offense only being on the field for 18 minutes. NOT GOOD. Jeff asks Ryan to stop apologizing and getting the defense better prepared.
In a player move, the Cowboys released RB Tashard Choice who was picked up by the Redskins off of waivers. Jeff thinks the Redskins might use Choice in their next game against the Cowboys.
Finally the guys agree to leave the first 7 weeks behind and get ready for a soft five week stretch as here come the Seahawks. Steven says there will be no playoffs talk until the Cowboys go 5-0 over the next five weeks, which is what they will have to do if they intend to make the playoffs. With home games against Seattle, Buffalo and Miami then road games at Washington and Arizona, there is no reason why the Cowboys cannot be 8-4 heading into their Week 14 matchup against the Giants.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Happy birthday to Cowbys owner Jerry Jones! Cowboys come back from their bye week and are facing a huge GPS game. Steven and Jeff take a look at the Cowboys coming back healthy after their bye. Steven thinks the Cowboys need a reset and get ready for the final 12 games of the season.
Jeff sees how the Cowboys could easily be 4-0 or 0-4 and he trys to pump up the team, specifically Tony Romo by saying 10 wins could win the division. As the trade deadline approaches, the guys look to see if the Cowboys could make any moves. Gil Brandt has a Godfather like suggestion that Steven dislikes immediately.
Finally the guys look ahead to the New England Patriots game and Jeff shows alot of fear because the Patriots have 30 straight wins at home and have scored 30 or more points of 13 consecutive regular games. Of course, Steven reminds Jeff that the last time the Patriots didn’t score 30 or more was when Rob Ryan was the Defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns. Now Ryan is with the Cowboys and Jeff literally expects him to throw a kitchen sink at Tom Brady. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory seemed to be the mantra for Week 4, as the Cowboys lost 34-30 to the now 4-0 Detroit Lions. The guys break down the loss and look at what went wrong. Jeff gets a little emotional calling out head coach, Jason Garret for horrible play calling in the second half. Historic defeats tend to leave historic hard feelings.
Steven, on the other hand, is quick to come to the defense of Tony Romo and goes so far as to insist that he would take Romo ANY DAY over any QB in the NFL (with 3 exceptions). For everyone saying it is time to change QBs, especially Deion Sanders, Steven wants to know whom you would rather have throwing the rock. Aside from Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and a healthy Peyton Manning, Steven likes Tony. He points to Romo’s numbers and notes that they are up there with the best. People tend to forget that although Romo is in his 9th season in the league, this is early in his 5th season as a starter.
New Harris Poll rankings are out and they deliver the same old results. America’s Team still wears a Star and plays in the Cathedral in Arlington. Yes, the Dallas Cowboys remain atop the Harris Poll as the most popular football team in America. Jeff thinks it is time for a change and Steven… well you know what he thinks.
The guys talk about how the Cowboys can get healthy during their Week 5 Bye Week. Jeff asks if the Cowboys need the bye more than the Ravens, Browns, Dolphins, Rams or Redskins. Steven reminds us that Bill Parcells would say you are what your record says you are and right now the Cowboys sit at 2-2 and with some focus and a top 10 offense and top 10 defense, the Cowboys can still win the division and get to the playoffs.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Steven and Jeff fondly remember the woopin the Cowboys placed on the Redskins on Monday Night Football. Dan Bailey went 6-6 giving the Cowboys an 18-16 victory and he won special teams player of the week honors.
Steven asks the Cowboys to win by a big margin, as they play another close game making it nine straight games, an NFL record and three more than any team in history, that the Cowboys have been involved in a contest decided by three points or less.
Redskins Brian Orakpo is not impressed with Romo’s tough guy impersonation as he tells ESPN that the media “they blown it way out of proportion. I mean, they tried to make it seem like the guy was hospitalized the night before the game, just so we could build it up if they was to win the game.” The guys tell Orakpo what they think of those comments.
In a franchise first, linebacker Sean Lee was awarded NFC Defensive Player of the Month as the guys say that Lee has been all over the field leading the team with with 36 tackles, 2 interceptions, two fumbles recovered, three pass deflections and 1 tackle for loss.
Finally, the guys look ahead to mighty the Mighty Detroit Lions. Steven says they have to neutralize Calvin Johnson and not allow Best to catch passes out of the backfield as he feels that the Cowboys have had problems covering the screen pass. Jeff says the Cowboys needed to continue to feed Felix Jones the ball and pound Detroit with the running game.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Steven and Jeff describe the scene from the press box at the Stick as Tony Romo came back into the game after suffering a broken rib and punctured lung to lead the Cowboys on their comeback win against the 49ers.
The win however did come at a price, as the guys go over the long list of injuries the Cowboys sustained causing WR Miles Austin to be out a few weeks. Some good news on the injury front, CB Terrance Newman is back on the practice field and looks ready to play this weekend, so the Cowboys released CB Bryan McCann and recalled WR Laurent Robinson.
Finally, the guys take a look at the Week 3 Home Opener the Cowboys have against the hated Washington Redskins. Dallas gets to play at home for the first time in 5 weeks and Steven says they need to find their running game to get the offense balanced out.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Steven and Jeff take a look back at the heartbreaking 27-24 loss to the New York Jets. Steven says the Cowboys looked great for 54 minutes, but the game goes for 60 minutes and the final six minutes were painful to watch. Steven doesn’t understand why everyone blames Romo, and Jeff feels it was the coaching staff’s fault for leaving an extremely banged up and ineffective Dez Bryant on the field.
In injury news, it appears that Terrance Newman will be missing a second straight game since he is not 100%, the Cowboys do not want to hurry him back on the field. Dez Bryant is still not practicing today, but Owner and GM Jerry Jones says Bryant will play this weekend.
Finally, the guys take a look ahead to Week 2 as the Cowboys travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. Steven says the Cowboys will find out plenty about their secondary, young offensive line and Jeff feels the running game needs to get moving.
Both guys feel the Cowboys should take care of the 49ers but they need to jump out to an early lead to get the fickle California crowd out of it early. Plus Steven says the Cowboys need to eliminate turnovers and eliminate Special Teams mistakes to ensure victory.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The much dreaded injury bug continues to be a big source of frustration in Big D. Cowboys received a scare yesterday when rookie Tyron Smith and CB Mike Jenkins suffered hyperextended knees but fortunately both were back out at practice today. While not sure if they are going to play this weekend, the guys hope is that the fact that they are back out on the field, is reason to remain optimistic.
Speaking of injuries, as an insurance policy for Miles Austin‘s complete recovery from hamstring injury, the team went out and grabbed the recently well traveled Free-agent WR Laurent Robinson. While Cowboys still list Kevin Ogletree as their 3rd wide receiver everyone familiar with this team knows that everyone on this squad can catch the rock!
Finally, the guys look ahead to what is certain to be an emotion packed opening night in New Jersey. Couldn’t get a more challenging draw than to play the New York vs the Jets while the country remembers the 10th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks just across the Hudson River. Jeff thinks this will favor the Jets while Steven thinks the burden is too much for a slow starting team like the J E T S, Jets, Jets, Jets.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The guys feel that ESPN Dallas is trying to become like Dallas the TV series as former Dallas Morning News beat writer, now at ESPN Dallas, Jean-Jacques Taylor writes that the Cowboys are in rebuilding mode. Why? Because the Cowboys cut C Andre Gurode. Whatever Taylor!
They switch focus to the preseason week 3 23-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The guys believe that both teams played well and Jeff even tips his cap to Vikings QB Donovan McNabb. Steven feels that if the Cowboys can play that well while missing their top 2 cornerbacks and top wide receiver, Miles Austin, they will be fine come September 11th.
Finally the guys throw their hat into the mix for the Cowboys kicking competition. The Cowboys just added Dave Rayner from Detroit Lions and he joins incumbent David Buehler, Shayne Graham and undrafted rookies, Dan Bailey and Kai Forbath.</itunes:summary>

Orlando Scandrick signs a 5 year extension with the team giving him $10 million guaranteed. Steven and Jeff talk about how Felix Jones is having a great camp and looks ready carry the load rushing for 56 yards on 7 carries including a 22 yard run against the Chargers. They also discuss the Cowboys new additions to the Ring of Honor, Drew Pearson, Charles Haley and Larry Allen.
Finally, the Cowboys head to Minnesota and get to go against McNabb, again! The guys hope the Cowboys will find out about their young offensive line and show is going to grab that third WR spot, Kevin Olgetree, rookie Dwayne Harris or will Jerry Jones be forced to go out and bring in a veteran WR.</itunes:summary>

Bad news as the injury bug strikes CB Terrance Newman again. Newman tweets that he will most likely be out until Week 1 vs the Jets and with Mike Jenkins also dinged up, Orlando Scandrick will be asked to step in and perform at corner.
Plus, the Cowboys get some safety help by bringing in Abram Elam on a one year contract.</itunes:summary>
