I'm worried for Spider-Man

I've been a fan of Spider-Man for almost 16 years now, and I'm proud to admit that this we-slinging wildcard is one of, if not my MOST favorite superhero ever. From the comics (which I'm only now getting to reading), to the movies, to the cartoons, and even the games, I doubt my love for Spider-Man will run out anytime soon. ...That said...

With the modern state of Spider-Man comics, I don't feel hopeful for Spider-Man's future, due to the storylines that came one after another. It started with One More Day, which reset Peter's life to bring him back to his lowest point, making him more "relatable". And since then, it's been ery hit-or-miss, until Zeb Wells' run for TASM vol. 6, where everything rapidly started going downhill.

I'm not hating on Zeb Wells, nor am I trying to defend him, but maybe he shoulda taken a second to think that maybe writing an entire Spider-Man volume isn't his forte. The real problem here is Marvel, who want to keep Spider-Man young & miserable so that he can be more "relatable". And the cover you see now of The Amazing Spidr-Man #1000 is basically Spider-Man saying "Why am I keeping my hopes up?", even though he doesn't say it, you can tell from this one cover that he's just fed up with everything.

Hopefully someday, Marvel decides to write a story that gives Peter a break for once. Maybe the anti-thesis to One More Day, maybe a whole universe reset, maybe a story where Spider-Man beats up Mephisto to make him reset the timeline, idk. But please, Marvel, give us SOMETHING that isn't just Spidey being miserable. Misery DOESN'T have to equal sales or relatability, y'know.

Kayla leaves her ‘house’ more confused than ever. Someone else was in her home as if her own family was never there.

“But they were there before weren’t they?” she asks herself.

She doesn’t get far with her wondering as someone calls her out by her military rank. “Lieutenant Ballentine!”

Turning around Kayla sees military troops behind her. The soldier in charge says she’s Absent WithOut Leave and she’s ordered to return to base.

Kayla responds with “Give General Shepherd my regrets, and tell him I’m not ready to come in at this time.” The soldiers escalate the situation by calling in the Max 3 armored war squad.

“I’m afraid we must insist lieutenant.” the lead officer said. Kayla remains undeterred.

“I said I wasn’t ready to come in.” Kayla said as she changes into her superhero costume. When the change ends she says “I meant it.”

Additional note: As you can see I had to use À Kling AI image for Kayla in her superhero costume. Chat GPT is being uncooperative right now with Kayla in her Starblast suit citing similarity to third party content. It cites this as an overcompensation of triggers on its part and I’m to try again later. How much later I have no idea.

Regardless I will look to do Starblast 4-but it may take some time. Especially as half of it would be her in superhero combat with the Max 3. ChatGPT seems squeamish about combat only taking things to a certain point.

So I may have to look at KlingAI for the fight, and Runway once credits replenish for the fight. I also need to choreograph the fight to see what I can do, and what I can’t. Tedious task.

But I will be working on Starblast 4. Just need to see what I can make work, and what I can’t.

I guess even with AI the human component will always need to be in the room.

Somewhere, in an alternate universe, where the world's of wrestling and superhero's and villains have combined, the life of one Matt Evergreen is quite different. Born and raised in Champion City, he had been born with an incredible power, However, as a vigilante, it was hard to feel like he was making a real difference. After all, how can one man change the world? He can't.....

....at least, not alone. But, when he received a certain letter, it became clear he was being invited to something so much bigger than himself. He was now a member of the "Clocktower Vigil"! And not just that, but he now had an official codename. "The Emerald Warrior"

Power: Energy Constructs
He has the ability to create construct copies of parts of his body made out of energy, usually using his hands or legs. These copies can be controlled by him, although he can only manifest 2 or 3 at a time. This gives him the ability to quite literally "throw" a punch, or catch people falling though the air from far away. The constructs are not invincible, and can be destroyed by enough force that would destroy wood. He is always training, aiming to be able to create more and stronger constructs.

Thanks to @Color-of-Midnight for letting Matt into their superhero wrestling universe, and coming up with this incredible design for him. Love the exposed shoulders, and the big gauntlets for his fists. And who knows, maybe we'll see him alongside Midnight Mask someday?
