On the other hand, if you’re looking for something really special, you should check out the 2027 Nissan Z line. It comes in three different trims, each one a dramatic improvement over last year’s. After paying close attention to comments and suggestions from Z owners, Nissan incorporated a number of upgrades in their 2027 line.

2027 Nissan Z Sport

The 2027 base model, the Z Sport, exhibits several standard features that drivers are sure to enjoy.

• While the drivetrain is the same as last year, with its very capable 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6, the driving experience of the Z Sport has changed quite a bit
• Like last year, you have an option of either the 9-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. The manual comes with an EXEDY® clutch and carbon-fiber driveshaft, while the automatic has paddle shifters.

• Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control
• Manually adjusted cloth seats, 4-spoke leather steering wheel, and manual handbrake

As an added option, you can select the Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic scheme, which includes the Super Black 2-tone roof.

You’ll undoubtedly notice the enhanced bisected grille, presenting a more tapered profile, the modified rear panel, and the “Z” badge that has replaced the Nissan logo on the hood. Another feature – less obvious to the casual observer – is the re-engineered fuel tank, with special baffles to avoid fuel starvation during high-speed cornering.

The Z Sport fuel mileage is estimated to be 19 mpg city / 28 mpg highway / 22 mpg combined with the automatic transmission and 18 mpg city / 24 mpg highway / 20 mpg combined with the manual.

While the 2027 MSRP hasn’t yet been announced for the Z line, it’s expected to be much the same as last year, starting at about $45,000.

2027 Nissan Z Performance

The Z Performance is the mid-level trim of the 2027 Z line. It is outfitted with features that make it both a more exciting driving experience and a technology-packed drive. Its standard features include:

• The same 400hp/350 lb-ft Twin-Turbo V6 engine as the Z Sport
• Limited-slip differential (LSD), SynchroRev Match on the manual model and larger diameter monotube shock absorbers to deliver a smoother ride

The Z Performance shares the same manual or automatic transmission options as the Z Sport, as well as the Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic paint scheme with the Super Black two-tone roof.

The Z Performance also offers the same gas mileage for both transmission options as the Z Sport. MSRP still hasn’t been announced.

2027 Nissan Z NISMO

The Z NISMO is the top of the Z line, and is a significantly sportier drive than the other trims. While it also sports a 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6 engine, it has been upgraded with NISMO tuning to provide 420hp and 384 lb.ft. of torque.

• It also offers either the 9-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission with an upgraded heavy-duty clutch, as well as a carbon-fiber composite driveshaft and a short-shift stroke.
• A V-bar underbody brace enhances the suspension with high-rigidity chassis bracing, and the wider front/rear track widths and stiffer spring rates, coupled with the lower-friction steering rack, give the NISMO a distinctive feel in the corners.
• Heavy-duty 15-inch front brakes, with high-performance 2-piece rotors, copied from the Nissan GT-R, knocked another 19 lbs off the frontend weight.
• Wider lightweight 19-inch RAYS®, exclusive to the NISMO, house sticky Dunlop® SP Sport MAXX GT600 tires.
• The leather and Alcantara Recaro® sport bucket seats, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with a red center stripe, and unique red graphics on the digital gauge cluster give the interior a flashy, but comfortable, feel, while a cooled magnetic wireless charger provides added convenience.

Once you’ve given the Z NISMO a test drive, you’ll understand how Nissan has outdone itself in providing a track-worthy driving experience.

The 2027 NISMO’s estimated mileage with the automatic transmission is 17 mpg city / 24 mpg highway / 19 mpg combined – no EPA estimate is yet available for the 6-speed manual version. But several reviewers have estimated it to be around 18 mpg combined.

Again, while no official MSRP has yet been published, it’s widely expected to start around $45,000.

These new 2027 Z trims are supposed to be hitting your local dealerships in mid-July, so it wouldn’t hurt to ask them to book you now for a test drive. The sooner you hit the lot, the better chance you’ll have of grabbing one before they disappear.

This entry level model is a solid work truck, available in either King Cab with a 6-foot bed, or Crew Cab with a 5-foot bed. Its 3.8-liter (310hp/281lb-ft of torque) V6 engine powers its 16-inch alloy wheels via its 9-speed automatic transmission.  Starting MSRP for the Frontier S is $32,150.

2026 Nissan Frontier SV

Next up in the Frontier lineup is the SV trim. This model is nothing to turn your nose up at, either. It dresses up nicely, with its alloy wheels, power driver’s seat and premium cloth seating. Like the S model, it is available in either 4×2 or 4×4 drive, with a Crew Cab configuration, with a 5-foot bed. And naturally, it includes the same standard features as the S model – 8-inch touchscreen, Nissan Safety Shield 360, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The drive train is the same as the Frontier S, except for the SV’s larger 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The MSRP for the Nissan Frontier SV starts at $36,190.

2026 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X

The top end trim of the 2026 Frontier line is the Frontier PRO-4X. This is a serious 4-wheel drive truck, available with either a 5-foot or 6-foot long bed configuration with a Crew Cab body – no King Cab is available for this model.

The PRO-4X features a 4-wheel drive system with electronic locking rear differential and skid plates under the body to protect the transfer case, fuel tank, and oil pan. The PRO-4X has a starting MSRP of $41,870 for the 5-foot bed and $42,370 for the 6-foot bed.

The Frontier S and SV both boast 19MPG city, 24MPG highway mileage, while the PRO-4X provides 15MPG city and 20MPG on the highway.

Depending upon the trim you select, options can include the NissanConnect 12.3-inch color touchscreen display, 4-mode Terrain Mode selector, Intelligent Key, embroidered cloth seats, Nissan’s 6-speaker audio system, and spray-on bedliner. The PRO-4X also offers the optional Utili-track Channel System in the bed.
