As I mentioned I had another round of mediation on Wednesday....my brain has been wrapped around all the things still up in the air with my divorce agreement.

Lord.....give me the strength to get through this s#*t.....those were my thoughts all day.

But....here I am still alive and kicking....pushing through the fire:)

But wait.....that is not why I didn't post. I had a small install on Tuesday morning at the crack of 9:00. OK.....smirk if you want because 9:00 is not that early Sherry.

Well I can't load up my car any more at night because of the break in [I don't have a garage] so everything had to be done in the AM. I have a very needy dog that if not walked will cuss me out. So blah blah blah....but it was also raining so it was like the trifecta!

Anyway I do have some pictures of the porch so there's that!

This was a renovation that I have been working on all spring and summer! The iron doors separating the family room and the covered porch fold all the way back so it almost becomes one room!

I started with the main furniture which was from Lee Industries outdoor collection. One sofa and 4 swivel chairs.

This Woodbridge fliptop table will come in handy for outdoor dinners....it opens up to a full table and can be just moved out......

I had ordered this Pottery Barn coffee table a while back and stumbled across this small rug at HomeGoods a few days before the install. It added so much coziness to the space!

The pillows and throws also came from Pottery barn.

I forgot to bring my steamer but I think these wrinkles with fall out naturally!

You can see a smaller porch which is the cooking area right off the kitchen....

While the slipcovers on the sofa and chairs is outdoor fabric the pillows and throws are not. It would take a pretty windy rain to reach the middle of this porch. The rug is outdoor though.....

This little nugget is very happy with the results....

A busy family of 3 boys and a dog.....everything had to be able to withstand a lot of wear and tear!

The family room furniture is on the way and I can't wait for that install.

So it's Friday. Raise your hand if that makes you happy? I am going to workout this morning....take the queen for a walk and try to organize my life.....with the latter probably taking more than a day for sure.....:)

AMBER LEWIS COLLECTION FOR ANTHROPOLOGIE

Well another week in the books.....just have to get through today and it's smooth sailing into the weekend.

We had a rainy day yesterday which is always fun when I am going in and out of my car....I just gave up trying to stay dry and decided to look wet and pathetic.....a look I can carry off pretty well:)

I am sure this isn't news to anyone but Amber Lewis just dropped her collection for Anthropologie. I thought I would share with the few people who are scratching their heads going....."who?"

Amber is based in California and I feel confident to say that she pretty much invented that casual....hip...not too decorated style.

I am pretty sure she started blogging around the same time I did....and she has a huge following with a book coming out in October.

She is also known for her use of vintage rugs in a space....which always help to ground a space.

She is also known for white walls so we are connected in that way.....cause so am I.

I knew this maidenhair fern wouldn't make it...I think this is a record....a little over a month.

One of my favorite fixtures from Currey was getting installed last night so I only got a picture of one of them as I had to go home and feed Cami:)

And even though she had already had her dinner....she likes to visit with me when I am having mine....hehe.

So....the soon to be ex is taking me back to mediation at the end of the month. Yes.....you would think that all of this would be over by now but dang....

I think a year is long enough so let's keep our fingers crossed please.

I was down in Bluffton for my nephews engagement party last weekend and I was sitting on the couch with my sister on Saturday......she looked at me and said did you post yesterday [Friday]? I looked at her....and I cocked my head...."uh no....I completely forgot"

Yikes. I think my brain just got so relaxed all bets are off when it came to any responsibility. The first night we were there I slept 12 hours.

But....nothing like spending time with family right?

I have some installs coming up so I have been in a "pillow fog" trying to decide which direction to go.

I never like to go with my first inclination....because it is usually predictable.

That is the case with this space at Madison. We ordered a new sectional for the TV room and we are working with a very colorful rug.

So if you are thinking of pillows with red and blue in them then just wipe that slate clean.

Nope. There is already enough color in the rug so we don't need any more.

I will go with neutrals....adding texture. After a massive search for the coffee table and a console under the TV.....I have a few more things to secure before I go down there to install!

But while I was pillow searching I thought I would share some of my finds with you. I can be generous like that:)

Hola chickadees....how was your weekend? Mine was good....hung with my sisters a little on Saturday. I am renovating my sisters kitchen and she has become a nightmare client all of the sudden. At least 2x's a week she calls and leaves a message...."any news on the kitchen?". Yeah.....I might strangle her before it is all over:)

Yesterday morning I was happily drinking my coffee when I heard a loud knocking at the door....startling as a matter of fact.

I look up to see the police and after answering the door found out that my car was broken into overnight.

Geez.....what next a pandemic? Oh wait we are already going through that.

Apparently they hit 6 cars and the police were going around alerting people. They only got some change but for me it is the cost of the window and then the mechanism that operates the window. Total 545.00

The hits just keep on coming....

Let's see....what else? Well if you saw on Instagram I cleaned out my basement and garage with my sister. After we got it all out she looked at me and said...."now do you want to put all this stuff back in?"

I really didn't but I was frozen.....meanwhile she was calling 1-800-got-junk and they were there in 15 minutes....on a Sunday.

She prodded me gently until I said OK....take it all.

I mean.....I could have sold some of it but I am already overwhelmed in life so sometimes you gotta make the tough decisions.

OK...enough about my life....let's look at some project updates.

No biggie.....this will all pass. Life just keeps moving forward.

CONSOLE STYLING TIPS

Aren't I lucky to have all these blogger friends who occasionally trust me to put out a specific post!

Cause y'all know lately around here it's been slim pickings other than pictures of half built homes.....:)

I think I have pulled it off..... although not my best work you might get a tip or 2.

These girls don't play.....they are serious about their brand and I'm over here like "brand".....what's that? I hate my brain sometimes.....even at 68 I am trying to train it to be more efficient...I will let you know how that is coming along:)

Here are my weak tips and then when you want the real meat of console styling I will give you the links to Mary Ann, Cindy, Annie, Melanine and Ana.

This is the best picture I have of my entry console as it was taken by a photographer for a local magazine Atlanta Home years ago. I had only hung this gallery wall a couple of weeks before this was taken!

By the way it took me years to collect all this art....

This is a picture I took right before I dismantled the whole thing:) I am just like all of you.....there was way too much stuff on this sucker! I had just been adding objects like it was my job not paying attention to what a hot mess it had become....ugh.

Let's start from the beginning....I have had this console for 20 years....

You can see it hides that old vent nicely!

But....It is just too leggy and I have had it covered for ages.....

Here is proof....

Plus.....without the cover there is still that issue of the old grate showing and that bugs me!

So let's put it back on.....but change it up without putting the piece of old linen on it....

Taking out all the white books and just going for black accessories.....

Doesn't feel right.....but hey styling takes time....it's like shopping at TJ Maxx. Hit and miss right?

I have had those magnolia leaves drying in the black vase for a while now.....I love the dark spice color the leaves turn underneath.

So let's change up a few things......I mean I don't hate this but it's looking a little lazy to me. You know all black.....

I added a little bling cause a girl needs something "shiney" in her life right!

And.....put the concrete sewer balls back on there. Hey.....nothing says design like "sewer balls"....hahaha

It's not my best work I know and I had a few other ideas I was going to try out but yesterday turned into such a "shitshow" [more about that later]

that I had to give up that dream of presenting you with the "muther" of all consoles!

One little change.....I was walking Cami and saw this magnolia branch on the ground so I grabbed it!

You have to be aware of your surroundings right....haha!

And there you have it....so take your time....let it marinate. I started this on Monday morning but I was tweaking it during the day. Taking stuff away and adding other things.

I am going to just let those magnolia leaves dry out....

Should have pulled that chair forward....here is a tip....let your furniture breath. Don't pack it too tight against other furniture or walls.

I'll tell you what....this will be part one and I will try to give you a few more looks.

You can use anything to make a console table....case in point here is our old family dining table that my sister has....I styled it up for the One Room Challenge last year!

And another One Room Challenge console I did for my other sister. This one is pretty simple with just lighting and a large basket.

I should stop now before it is 2021....although I think we would all welcome fast forward to better times!

STYLING BOOKSHELVES

I don't even know what to say about this week except for whew.....it was so crazy....especially Tuesday when I had to go home in the middle of the day and change my shirt.

Yup....my deodorant failed. It was crazy hot outside but also I was at a curtain install where the rods did not arrive....the texts were coming in rapid fire about sconce height....need kitchen hardware....backsplash decisions. I almost had a melt down but I gassed up and just plowed through all the chaos.

But let's back up. On Saturday Rose and I took a much needed day off and just scooted around Atlanta going to some of our favorite places. I made one purchase at the consignment store "Swoox" and it actually got me motivated to play around with my bookshelves.

Lord it has been a minute since I have done anything to my house besides buying a new hot water heater....not really blog worthy:)

What is funny is that y'all probably won't really notice much difference.....haha. I decided to lighten them up....which is something you usually do in the spring. Hmmmm.....what's up with me:)

Here is a before...not sure which before though....but hey....nothing is static around here.

OK.....here is the after before I made a little change. After posting a picture I realized that I needed to switch out the bowl with the white vase. Why you ask? because the bowl is the same color as the wooden bowl.....

So I fixed it:)

I also needed to replace the black and white art so I got out my paints and whipped up something. I'm so impatient:)

So it was this day a year ago that I came home to discover that my husband had moved out. Hard to believe.....

What a year it has been. Of course I have been working a-lot. Partly to stay busy but also to make money to pay the bills.....so much more responsibility when you have to do it all alone.

I'm not going to lie....there have been some dark times.....when I just didn't think I could get it together another day. And I am sure it would help if I could actually get a finalized agreement. But hey as they say one minute, one hour, one day at a time.

Trying times in the world for everyone not just me.

And I have Cami who relies on me every day:)

I hope you guys have a wonderful holiday weekend! I appreciate every one of you. This blog means so much to me.....It's amazing that I have been telling stories about my life for 11 years.

THAT is a long time....and I appreciate how supportive you have all been.

PROJECT UPDATES

Y'all.....we need to do something about how fast a week flies by. Seriously.....something like Wednesday might last for 2 days just to have a little more time to get things done. We would have Wednesday 1 and 2.....then get on to the weekend.

Some of you might disagree with me because you can't wait to get to the weekend....but for me it just means I have to work on Sat or Sun.

Just a thought people....be glad I am not the one in charge of things....haha

It was quite the week but I did manage to get in some good workouts which was tough last week while installing our table design!

So look....I have 2 big jobs going on at the same time. One is a total renovation and the other a new build but both need to be finished at the same time and it's a hustle y'all. I was over at one project in Brookhaven and the kitchen was getting installed.

This is the exciting part when all of your selections start coming to life!

Here is the kitchen....

So glad about the 2 towers that went in....the microwave will go in the one below.

The island is painted BM Wrought Iron and the cabinets are painted SW Pure White. It was the closest I could find to White Dove and I might like it better:)

This is the pantry that has a pocket door to close off in case of "mess". It was supposed to be all shelves but I am not one for small appliances sitting out so we made a counter top in there for a coffee station and other things like the mixer and toaster.

You can see there will be 2 sconces in-between the towers.

These are actually the same Currey and Co ones that I have! I just love the detail on the backplate!

Can't wait to see the hood....we found a picture on pinterest....

And hold on to your hats people.....I finally found a client who is just as gaga over these fixtures as I am....for over the island. These are from Currey and Co also.

I am so PUMPED!!!!

Since the ceilings are only 9 feet almost all of the others she wanted would not fit....I took a chance and showed her these and it was "winner winner chicken dinner"

The countertops are a white marble.....

If all island legs were shaker I would not be mad. I'm just a simple girl at heart....

The family room is all white of course:)

Well...well....it's another week already. Where the holy heck did summer go? And....who knew that Covid would still be here when we first heard about it in March? I can remember being out to dinner with Rose on March 7 and there was one case.....

Crikey.

Today I am answering questions and showing you a few of the other tables from To Live and Dine at ADAC.

Leslie....I ordered the napkin rings on Etsy and they were vintage. There were only 5 but I can tell you I think they are a pottery. Or maybe do a google search with a picture of them!

I went on Etsy and looked for some other nice ones that would have worked on our table....

My friend Lauren brought her grandmothers china and her sister did the floral arrangement. Hard to photograph but it was stunning!

This one was hard to photograph also but it was extremely creative with the black rocks and flowers.

Every one had such creative centerpieces and there we were with a silver pitcher and a 7.99 maidenhair fern:)

Isn't it amazing how different they all were!

I went on a site check and saw 2 of the vanities I ordered online....was pretty impressed with them!

And this one was from Wayfair. Of course the tile is the star here right!

Met with the floor guy who worked a miracle for me:) Client wanted light floors. Wasn't sure it would work with the old and the new mixed in but he gave us a great option!

Let me see if I can remember....1 part weathered oak....one part classic gray and I think special walnut...

And that was my week....well there was a lot more but these were the highlights for sure...haha

As I am sitting here writing this post Cami is staring at me for her walk and it is raining....don't know how to break it to her....

OUR TABLE SETTING FOR ADAC

All this week Rose and I have been putting together our tables for ADAC's To Live and Dine. Normally it's a huge dinner for charity but well.....Covid affects everything right!

They invite 10-12 designers to set a table. Since it was not going to be a dinner..... we opted to do a table of 4 [instead of 10]. I am always thinking of doing less work:)

We had 3 days to set up and we used every minute of those 3 days. I have never been one of those designers who can plan the whole thing out....install and be done! To me....the fun part is putting it together and watching it evolve.

At first we were all over the place but then we just decided to keep it simple and do cream and white with touches of camel and green. I mean....gotta stay true to our roots right!

We found the table at Englishmens....that was our starting point. Then we decided to use some old chairs of mine that have been painted at least 5 times:) When you are going for neutrals....texture is everything. Thanks to Rose as she sprayed all 4 of them. She said her finger is still numb.

The rug came from Designer Carpets...and it is amazing. How perfect did it go with our plan!

Below is the fabric that we selected from Fabricut....it's a new one and fit the bill perfectly...

Curtains from Pottery Barn and we ordered the rod from Fabricut.

I have 12 place settings of all different sterling silver that I bought at Scott's 15 years ago!

Placemats from Homegoods and the plates from World Market. The wooden bowls were mine.

I found the napkin rings on Etsy and the vintage white linen napkins were mine.

We were struggling with the centerpiece at first and then I remembered I had this old hotel silver pitcher which was the perfect vessel for the maidenhair fern.

The gold rimmed glasses were my sisters....

The amber jar was mine and I picked it up from Scott's years ago.

These gorgeous books are from Rose....I would like to steal them....

The art work is vintage and came from Up Country Home at ADAC. The acrylic table came from Travis and Co at ADAC.

In the image below we picked up the hide cube from Madegoods.

So you see how layered it is.....it's the last group of accessories that makes the difference in design....in my opinion:)

Funny story....the first day we were [and I say we but it was Rose because I can't hang curtains] trying to get those curtains hung and it was a disaster. The drywall was so old and thin that even with a molly....they fell and a butterfly...they still wouldn't stay up.....we were beat and defeated. As we left that day all we had was a table and chairs. I am sure everyone else was thinking....rookies!

We had to call in a professional. We may never get that rod down now....haha

Of course on the reveal day we both had to dress to match the space!

These shoes were my purchase from the Nordstroms Anniversary sale....I stalked these suckers because I had to wait for my level [just a credit card] to actually be able to purchase them.....grrrr

Rose was the best partner EVER.....I was so busy this week with all kinds of deadlines and she did much more than I did. Love you girl.....

MY TRIP TO THE ATLANTA MART

Well..... how was everyones weekend? I did some work and got some exercise in. I have been so busy it's hard to fit it in but I can always find time for a long walk! Although it's dang hot and to be honest our humidity level in Atlanta has been a pretty bad summer for hair.

I did blow through Perry Mason on HBO. It was a little hard to follow at first and there were so many characters I found myself saying "who's jack again" alot....haha

On Friday I ventured to the Mart. It was very limited with many showrooms being closed and the crowd was minimal but I managed to find a few things for some clients.

PROJECT UPDATES

Happy Friday y'allllll......

Yup another week finished. I wish I could say I had a big weekend planned but I will probably be catching up with work.

I have 2 projects I'm working where I feel like it's a race. I am your classic "overthinker" but dang it seems like I am having to do my thinking in the middle of the night....and that is no fun.

Today I am just going to catch you up with some mid construction shots on these 2!

So we painted it Benjamin Moore China White...

I love the front of this house [both projects designed by Linda MacAurthur and being built by Ladisic Fine Homes].

We painted the ceiling BM Whythe Blue!

Then I suggested to my client that we paint the garage dark and she went for it!

The room with the large iron window is the family room and there will be a pool to look at!

This is the ceiling in the master bedroom....

The other project has this pretty staircase in the foyer!

And the consensus was to stain this wood....but I did not like that idea. It kinda gave me feelings of all those tall 2 story stone fireplaces that I see people painting white....So I just decided on white!

To the left of the fireplace is the back yard and there is also a pool at this project!

The barrel ceiling will also be painted white....

It also has some impressive architecture !

And.....that's it! I know....this is the awkward stage but they are both taking shape pretty quickly!

I wanted to share this top I got at J Crew. It was on major special....like 23.00 so hopefully they still have it!

Like I needed another white linen top but dang....it seems to be all I wear so I know it will be in heavy rotation!

I hope y'all can play a little this weekend....and thanks for commenting on my Nantucket pictures! Such a great trip. I wish I could give you more information on the rugs and stuff but that is just information I don't have :(

Alrighty then....more discussion about my trip to Nantucket. As I said my neighbors just finished their extensive home renovation so even during a pandemic I hightailed it up there practically dressed in a hazmat suit....for a little vacation. Well.... I did help them place 38 pieces of art.....but lucky for me I did not have to hang them!

I might have mentioned that I did not do the design work. Yeah....she really needed someone who was there to handle the weekly issues that always come up during this kind of work. I get it but I will continue to make them feel guilty about it :)

They used Nantucket Looms who did a great job. I will admit to zhushing a little....it is just in my DNA.

I mentioned that we did a little shopping and I spied these cute art pieces in a window and thought they would be cute.....

I had to get creative with the hanging as there were only 5 that would work.....

This is a banquet area but the table has not come in yet....

MY TRIP TO NANTUCKET

Well as suspected Tuesday was a no go on the post....and I was so relaxed by that point....that I could not even get to it on Monday :)

I can hardly explain how much I needed this break. On top of everything we as a country are going thru....my own troubles definitely warranted a little break.

To start off....I felt really safe on Delta. Everything was so clean and they are not selling the middle seat. I think that was one of my biggest fears.

It was my very first visit to Nantucket and I can now say it's the most charming town ever. The fact that 90% of the homes are gray and white really appealed to my "neutral loving" soul! Hopefully you saw some of my "instastories" showing some of the beautiful homes. #visualoverload

I stayed with my neighbors who just completed a major renovation of their home.....and it was amazing. They have been vacationing up there forever and finally bought 7 years ago. Now they are gone from June to October which really irritates me.

This was the worst part....flying on Cape Air from Boston to Nantucket. #whiteknuckle

I love the colors she and her team [that is another story] picked out....

Jumped out of the car to this garden scene....

It was like full on spring up there!

Now let's talk about Anne....she is an excellent cook. Where I will have saltines and butter for dinner....with wine of course.....she will whip up something worthy of a 5 star restaurant .

A friend told me about this cookbook and I shared it with her. She said it is her new favorite.....

I am just now realizing that she made the cover dish! Cauliflower steak in a cauliflower puree with a lemon salsa on top. IT WAS AMAZING.....

She made this dish from the same cookbook the first night!

She also made these which I thought was cruel! We ate half the dough and then lounged around in a sugar coma the rest of the day.

We stumbled on this store while out looking for a few accessories for her new place. Oh yeah....did I mention I was NOT part of the design team?

Oh yeah..... the first day we got there we took the dogs for a long walk and I was so stressed about ticks I practically bathed in Deets. I then talked about ticks and how scared I was every 5 minutes on the walk.

They were kind of irritated about that.... but remember it was at their farm that I received my tick bite so I felt like they deserved to be a little uncomfortable:)

As promised I have the second Bungalow that Pam did. All three of them had their own personality....

The last one was a one bedroom and this one is a 2 bedroom.

Then we pulled up to her cute house and the amazing landscaping....

She whipped up an incredible meal on Wednesday night from the cookbook below.

I seemed like she was in the kitchen cooking for 5 hours....and I felt guilty as I might have just served her saltines with velveeta on them if she came to my house....

I mean she made organic vegan sour cream and that just about flipped me out. From Cashews. And it was white like sour cream....my question during the whole meal was why is it white...cashews aren't white????

Anyway....I am so at peace here....

I've got some fun pictures to share with you today! My friend Pam Sessions of Hedgewood Homes gave us a tour of 3 of her Hedgewood Stay homes and all I can say is just WOW!

She likes to say she isn't a designer and I just want to flick her head when she says that....and maybe stomp on a toe or 2...haha

Yesterday was my anniversary. I felt sad all day thinking about it comparing where we are today to 28 years ago or even last year.....Why are endings so sad?

I am still not divorced yet....crazy I know....and the weirdest part is other than some emails about negotiations....I have not talked to him or seen him. It will be a year on August 31. Words that come to mind are replaceable and diminished.

Sometimes I think that if I was more he wouldn't have done this....But deep down I know I was OK and whatever happened between us was not really a response to me.

This might sound weird but I don't feel hate or harbor any bad feelings. I realize he needed to do what felt right for him and I hope he finds happiness. Not to say I don't have bad days.....

Hard to believe it's Friday....again. I've been busy selling but when I look around I still see so much STUFF [see last post if you missed it!].

What's funny is that I get excited when I get 10.00 for something but geez.....I probably paid 100.00 for it....hahaha.

Anyway.....blah blah.

I have the final pictures of the project I have been working on for a while. They are moving in this weekend....and I know they are excited.

I will start with the kitchen...

All lighting is from Circa Lighting.

I had never heard of "sugar marble" but it's very pretty!

I love how they trimmed out the top of the mirrors to match the top of the cabinet on the right in the master. Never underestimate the power of architectural details.....

Of course the mirror came shattered....ugh

So here is some news....the Friar Tuck project sold! Yup....and I don't get to decorate it which I am sad about. They already have a "famous designer" that they work with.....

But here is some news....they are replacing the large Serena and Lily globes! There are 3 of them [one over the island].

Oh well.....

PURGING MY GUEST BEDROOM

I feel like I am letting you guys down....I am not very organized today.....or lately for that matter. I used to sit down on Sundays and plan my post for the week....

Which has not been happening since I have been working most weekends. All this being said I don't have much today but....a little glimpse of what my Sunday was all about.

I have this guest bedroom....that of course..... had become the biggest mess ever. Left over fabrics and things ordered but not used for a project.....pillows....oh yes so many of those!

I just kept the door shut so I would not have to look at it. It is a small room....about 11 x 11. Just room for a bed and a chest.

On Sunday around 12:30 I just got a wild hair and walked in and started taking things out into the LR....which of course spilled into the kitchen and family room. Y'all it was a mess.....worse than Christmas morning with 4 kids opening presents.

Here goes....the shame.

I tried to put them in categories but I was getting overwhelmed....

I mean how did this happen.....I ask....like I don't know....haha.

I was at it until 6 pm.....

I started selling things on a few Facebook Groups and that felt good!

I also cleaned that room so hard. Baseboards, bedding....all spider webs are now gone! Every little dot I saw was a tick.....you know I am still jumpy!

Then I got distracted. You knew that was coming. After the room was clean I started styling....

What in the living hell is wrong with me?

All cleaned.

Lord....I need to be medicated.

So where are we you ask?

In the closet....pillow covers in twos only....

Pillows with inserts....still in this corner of my LR as I am writing this. Here is the problem now...I don't want to put anything in the room now....but that is not reality cause it's either in there or in my LR.

The good thing is I am still working on selling stuff. It does make it less painful:)

I will tell you it gets overwhelming doing that because you have to pay attention so when you price something too low and 389 people start responding and you have to figure that shit out.

I was sweating a few times.

But all in all it's a good solution. I will tell you this....the trick is to price to sell so you have to have a long hard talk with yourself about the end goal!

Letting go of the pillows....my first love..... is another whole situation. That may happen last and I might need an intervention before it is all over.

I have a lot to get done before I leave for Nantucket. Yes I am traveling. A little nervous about it but if you are looking for me I'll be the one in a full hazmat suit:)

PROJECT UPDATE

Whew....these are crazy times. Every morning I think I am going to turn on the news and see that this virus has disappeared.....I can be naive like that. With the Spanish flu....it just ended after 2 years.....so what........we have 20 months to go???

Ugh.

I don't have much for you today....but I will say this. When people ask a question in the comments on a blog post from 2 years ago how am I supposed to answer that? Perplexed!

I do try to keep up with questions....but I am not sure how to get in touch with "anonymous"....haha.

Ahhhhh.....just venting. #pleaserquilt

A couple of post ago I showed you some pictures of the project that is finishing up right now.

I have a few pictures of the vanities and tile from the bathrooms.

Below is the design board I did. We went with a painted vanity instead of wood for budget reasons.

And I stayed with the sconces but changed them to oil rubbed bronze just for interest!

Below with bath #2 I did marble as it is the main level guest room. I selected a lighter paint color for the vanity.

Here was the plan for bath #6

No changes to this one!

I did change the lights for this one but I love the gray hex tile.

Bath #5 is pretty much all white with a vanity painted Hale Navy.

The only thing in the basement bath right now is the tile....but I love it:)

In the powder room we had a custom vanity made and we are using the Galbraith & Paul wallpaper....

Since she has 3 boys....I thought of something fun for the laundry room!

She will have 2 sets of washer and dryers stacked where that one cabinet is sitting on the floor. That on is actually a wall cabinet above the sink on the RHS.

The faux soapstone will be the countertops.

I spent all weekend picking out the hardware....and let me tell you that was a job!

Daunting.....

We took the original entry doors and had them refinished! I can't believe how good they look!

They were solid mahogany so there was no reason to ditch them!

Most of the light fixtures have been installed!

Friday the countertops are installed so I will have more pictures next week!

I am actually getting my hair cut and colored today and I am pretty excited about it. Precautions will be taken :)

OK.... I gotta go walk the princess.....I tell ya she is definitely getting more demanding in her old age:) She will be 7 in August.....ugh. I hate when they get older because all I can think about is "the end". I can be morbid like that.

FRIDAY THIS AND THAT

I am trying to get a fashion post together....but those take a lot of time and I am deep in "lighting hell" right now trying to get the decorative lighting together for 2 renovations.....

I love my clients.....yes I do.....but it's like herding cats to get them to focus. Meanwhile I have the project managers texting me everyday...."we need lights"....haha

So we have a little of everything today.

Things are moving along with my #EPF project.

Picking paint colors.... The one in the middle is the BM color that I picked and the other 2 were color matched with SW....they were too yellow! Some colors can't be translated through other paint companies. One of those is my favorite BM White Dove. SW can't match that one.

Here is the next one...a pretty renovation in Brookhaven.

They are both supposed to be finished by Sept 30! You can see why I'm scurrying to get everything picked out!

When I was sick....I got flowers from a group of artist and designers.....I love my tribe so much!

Last weekend I binged this Netflix series called Say I Do. So good....and I love all three of these guys! Jeremiah Brent did all of the design and they were some gorgeous weddings.

I was at a clients house the other day and check out the containers at her front door!

I made a trip to ADAC and saw these spool chairs painted a pretty beige with a ticking....

Also.....I have had the silver bangles for 20 years....but sometimes I just throw a little color into the mix:)

I posted this on instagram the other day and somebody asked me to do a post on my fitness routine.....

Since Covid....when my gym closed I have been working out with a friend in her home gym. It is basically a HIIT workout....high intensity interval training. There are 17 exercises and we go through it twice [at 1 minute each]. I found an app that I downloaded which you can set to ring every minute. So if she starts at #1....then I start at #3.

We change up the exercises every week....sometimes more upper body and others we do more lower. Go here if you want to read about the benefits of HIIT workouts.

Before Covid I was doing this 4 times a week.....and I was doing pretty good until the tick bite! I didn't workout for 3 weeks but I am back now.....

I will tell you this.....if you don't add weights to your exercise routine you can't change the shape of your body. I have been doing them for 38 years and while all of my friends [my age] are getting knee replacements and such I do not have any aches or pains at all. Of course now I will probably get one!

Also...my friend Cindy over at Rough Luxe Blog is having a progressive dinner with some other bloggers so if you like to cook.....head over!

And....Cami says HI.....

This weekend will be filled with work....walking Cami and giving her the all the attention that she demands :) I mean she got me up at 4:00 this morning.....grrrrrrrr.

I hope everyone had a great holiday! I mostly worked picking out bathroom mirrors, cabinet hardware and doing estimates for furniture plans.

When there are 8 bathrooms.....that is a lot of things to select:)

Whew....

I did venture out Saturday afternoon to a small gathering where everyone brought their own food, chairs and drinks. We were all sitting so far apart it was hard to hear....ha ha #oldpeopleproblems

It was very hot on the 4th so I only made it a couple of hours.....

On Sunday I went over to my project to get counts for hooks....towel bars and cabinet hardware....

I took a few pictures of this whole house renovation. The architects were Pritchett + Dixon and Ladisic Fine Homes was the builder.

I posted this on Instagram and people were saying how everything comes back again....yes oak! We all remember the golden oak cabinets way back when right! Everybody was painting them white:)

Since the ceilings are 9 ft I could only do a flush mount fixture in the LR....but I love how it looks

I used ceramic or porcelain tiles in the secondary bathrooms to keep costs down and went with marble in the master and guest bath.

I already posted about the furniture and fabrics for this house....but I went over and taped it out and realized I had to tweak a few things....no worries it's like that "measure twice cut once" kind of thing!

BEFORE AND AFTER

What a week.....Life can be so funny....if you are on Instagram then you might have read that Monday was a crappy day for me.

I use the term crappy because if I think back and put it in perspective it probably pales in comparison to people who are suffering so much more than me.

The first thing had to do with my divorce.....and what felt like some terrorizing from my soon to be ex. It took most of the day to iron out. I will say it's the first time I have ever tried deep breathing and then I remembered that petting a dog brings your blood pressure down so I grabbed Cami and just loved on her for a good 15 minutes.

You know what? It really helped!

Anyway around 3 I called a friend to take me to pickup my car from the shop. I had her drop me off because I knew it was ready. I "be-bopped" in feeling so much better after handling my situation [and my love session with Cami] and threw down my CC. He promptly said we don't take AMX.

No problem I came prepared and took out my check book. He again promptly said we don't take checks. Huh? Well there you go. I don't have a Visa or Mastercard [which taught me another lesson.....like I needed more lessons that day!]

So guess what? I had to Uber home. Yeah. Icing on the darn cake.

Anyway......On Tuesday I helped my friend Rose with her installation. If you don't know.... we help each other on install days. It makes it so much more fun and Lord knows I needed the distraction!

I will show you the before.

We started with the bookshelves. I would say we mostly worked with what she had. We had gone to a flea market and picked up a few vintage items to help warm them up.

We started by taking everything down and grouping them into categories like books...family pictures and small items.

I will say there were some other bookshelves in another room that we pilfered a few things from.

AFTER

Here is the after....What we added....some brown wood accents....that we found while at the fleamarket.

She had some blue vases and Rose had picked up a couple from HomeGoods!

Anyway they have a more curated look now.

So here is the before of the space before anything was done.

There was a sectional and Rose worked out a whole new floor-plan. The sectional went downstairs into the finished basement!

The new furniture plan! 2 sofas and 2 chairs....so warm and cozy. Let's discuss...all the fabric on the chairs and sofas are performance. Since this is her only living space she wanted something a little bit more formal.....

It's so pretty....Rose Kipper Interiors did an amazing job!

All of the upholstered furniture is Charles Stewart. Made in America!

Rose managed to brighten up this small sitting room also. We zhushed up the bookcases with what was left and she picked up a throw, the blue and white garden seat, and the rug!

The wall color wasn't changed but Rose added some textured Thibaut wallpaper to warm it up....

She found some pillows and a lamp at HomeGoods!

Also on Tuesday I received so much love from tons of people! My good friend Cindy Hattersley featured me on her blog Rough Luxe Lifestyle! It's a series called Ageless style....with pictures and an interview.

After a sh*#y day the skies opened up and and I felt tremendous love from all of my social media friends. I have only spent a little time with Cindy [at the mart once for 2 days] but she is such a kind person and has been incredibly supportive during this difficult year....checking in on me. One day I will get to visit her and see her incredible house and all of my favorite California "blogging" friends.....

I hope you guys will be able to celebrate this Independence Day with family and friends....small gatherings only please:)

DESIGN PLAN

I hope y'all had a great weekend....mine was low key. Doing a little work and hanging with my bestie.....Cami:)

I have spent so much time with her lately that she is indigent when I leave the house....haha.

Monday came at me like a tsunami....and I am not gonna lie....I had a few "how much more can I take" moments. I'm tired of "life lessons".....at my age can we just do away that part?

So I promised I would give you a glimpse of my design thoughts for this renovation that I posted about on Friday.....

First of all with 3 boys....everything has to be performance fabric.....

The Lee Industries iron chairs with be in the light color below....with pillows from the Schumacher
texture. I am in love with this fabric right now....

The sofa and chair fabric will be very durable....and also 2 leather stools. I want her to be able to get through their younger years without having to worry too much. That being said....performance does not mean it won't have to be maintained. Always get any stains out as soon as possible!

All of the walls in the house are painted BM China White....lately my fav white!

I am loving that it is still safe to use neutrals in a family room....which normally I would have done darker colors and save the lighter ones for a living room.....

The kitchen fabrics are below....leather barstools [it's actually more gray] with the Mark Alexander plaid on the back of them. The kitchen cabinets are painted SW Mindful Gray.

I am still researching a few pieces.....so if you don't think we put thought into these plans....think again. I can overthink like it's my job.....oh wait haha....it is!

Today I am helping my friend Rose with an install....stay tune for some instastories....

I almost forgot....I started watching Queer Eye on Netflix this weekend and spent a little time with a kleenex wiping my eyes.....some of the stories are so touching. There is no doubt that it is life changing for these people. And the "fab 5" are very entertaining!

DESIGN PLAN

Well here it is Friday....see how I pat myself on the back just for getting a little old blog post up. It was a busy week since I am a little behind after all the mayhem in my life.

I had last weekend to get a design plan together for some clients...that was a little tricky as it can usually take 2 weeks or longer.

This is a total renovation [Ladisic Fine Homes....builder] [Pritchett Dixon the architects] I have been working on for about 6-7 months.

I am going to show you the floor plans I did for the family room....

Its a pretty big room.....

They are a family of 5 with 3 boys....so even though there are playrooms and a full basement we all know that the room right off the kitchen is where they will all gather!

Above with 2 sofas and below I played around with a sectional.....

Below is OK using 2 smaller occasional chairs...but this one is really not that great.

This was the clear winner with the sofa and 2 swivel chairs. It has the best pathways into the room.

Below you can see the kitchen right off the family room.....

This is the FR with a killer porch right off this space.....

I am sure they will be using this space a lot!!!

The smaller room [right off the kitchen] is a cooking porch which will have a grill area and a small table!

Before above and after....painted the new colors. I know you are going to ask me but I can't remember right this second.....

The bathroom tile has been installed....she wanted to keep it very neutral....

Love this subway with the trim on it!

I pushed her to use this tile and now she said it is her favorite:)

We did all ceramic in the secondary bathrooms but did a pretty marble in the master....

I know y'all want to see the decorating part....and we will cover that next week. I am busy getting the estimates and firming it up!

Now for the good news....went back to the doc yesterday and it was confirmed....Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever....which I should fully recover from!

Also I have not updated you on my BIL....he had his surgery. They did find cancer in 5 lymph nodes but at this time [after conferring with the Mayo Clinic] no more chemo. They removed his port and feeding tube. He will be scanned every 3 months. That is good news as there were some really rough times before and after the surgery.

OK.....I just want to warn y'all I am thinking of moving my blog from Blogger to my website! Really scared about this as I have over a 1000 blog post and people have said that I might lose some and then of course I have to learn a whole other platform.....my goodness...this could be a disaster!

There are reasons which I will share with you later.....

Thank you for all of your comments about the tick bite.....I'm still trying to get back to normal and I would say I am around 85-90%. I have not googled any info because I don't want my brain to lock in on a particular symptom.....you know how that goes:)

Right before I got sick I had the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles webinar about the Ladisic Fine Homes spec house. You know how nervous I was about that. Looks like I was right to be a little scared. I was totally un-prepared by the way of not even having Zoom downloaded on my phone....actually I should have brought my computer...duh. Anyway right before they got to me....I lost the connection.

So by the time someone ran over to help I was totally flustered and could hardly form a sentence.

Yeah....I think TV hosting is definitely not in my future....HA!

Anyway in case you aren't on Instagram I posted the 3 dresses that I was considering.

Hands down the turquoise was the winner with the black one #2.

My friend Maria [the one who actually came over to take me to the ER....she don't play] brought me some brownies yesterday. I could see there was going to be a problem when I ate 5 of them. Thankfully I gave the rest to my neighbor before I finished them off.....#nocontrol
