Supporting the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) on free trade, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said she is ready to discuss the merits of the deal with President Donald Trump if needed.
A more protectionist US stance has introduced new challenges, she noted.
Her remarks follow Trump’s statement casting doubt on the USMCA's renewal, arguing that the US does not need anything from Canada and Mexico.

The US Supreme Court recently denied without comment a petition for certiorari by a group led by HMTX Industries in the test case for the China Section 301 tariff refund litigation.
The petition sought review of the decision by the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit sustaining the China Section 301 tariffs.
With this denial, those tariffs will stand and all appeals have been exhausted.

Bangladesh’s FY27 budget revenue targets face execution risks: Fitch

Bangladesh’s FY27 budget revenue targets look challenging to achieve in light of weak record on tax mobilisation and reform implementation, Fitch Ratings said.
Revenue execution is the main fiscal test as the budget targets nominal revenue growth of 18 per cent YoY while also proposing a 19-per cent rise in spending, it noted.
Energy measures could support medium-term growth if implementation improves.
