INEOS Energy and Shell have deepened their partnership with a 21 per cent stake acquisition in Gulf of America assets, targeting near-infrastructure exploration to optimise costs and accelerate output.
The focus on tieback opportunities, including Fort Sumter and Sisco, signals disciplined upstream growth, risk-sharing, and enhanced energy security through high-margin, infrastructure-led development.

PTA gains fade as downstream buyers push back on higher costs

PTA’s late-April rally, driven by crude-linked feedstock costs, is losing steam as downstream polyester demand weakens.
Despite a 4–6 per cent regional rebound and strong YoY gains, buyers are resisting higher prices amid soft yarn realisations.
Duty relief in India has eased pressure, but the market remains in a cost-demand standoff, signalling a potential sideways to soft correction phase.

Cotton price surge lifts yarn rates sharply in South India

Cotton yarn prices rose sharply across South India as cotton costs surged, prompting mills to hike rates by ₹5-10 per kg in Tiruppur and ₹5-8 per kg in Mumbai.
Tight supplies and strong export demand, now up to 60 per cent of output, supported prices.
Higher CCI base rates and firm global prices also lifted domestic cotton, reinforcing market strength.
