The final season is upon us! Clone Wars Conversations’ continues with episodes 5-8 of Season 7, making up “Ahsoka’s Walkabout” arc, taking a very different direction to the prior 4 episodes, where battling on the front lines is swapped out for family politics on Level 1313 of Coruscant!

In detail, our trio talk about the somewhat infamous lull of Season 7, centring around Ahsoka meeting the Martez sisters. Amidst their run-through of the four episodes, they talk about the narrative choices, the Pykes, Ahsoka’s journey & growth and whether or not this is essential viewing for her character and the season 7 finale. Clone Wars Conversations’ final Legacy Multimedia Project episode is about the novel that concludes Asajj Ventress’ time in The Clone Wars era, featuring Quinlan Vos, Obi-Wan, Dooku and more.

In detail, our trio talk about their experiences with the audiobook of Dark Disciple (narrated by Marc Thompson), how the story fits into the Clone Wars content they’ve already consumed and how it changes their perception of Ventress as a character. Along the way, Mike provides plenty of lore information, further context and answers questions that Dave & Maff have. Nearer the end they confirm the next steps for Ventress and their hopes for Quinlan Vos in the future.

Mike & Spider-Dan delve into the 1962 kaiju/Moby Dick movie The Whale God, which Mike was hugely looking forward to watching but it has some controversial topics within – although it’s not gratuitous, note the sexual assault trigger warning.

Neither Mike or Dan had seen or heard of this movie before, due to its non-existent UK release, so they were excited to watch it on an IMAX screen at Forbidden Worlds – they review the movie in-depth, talking about the plot, dialogue and kaiju for the first 30 minutes, then give the trigger warning and discuss the sexual assault scenes and the plot implications & character reactions that follow.

Although this is the last review, Mike & Dan still have some interviews to release, so keep an eye out for those before GCC returns to the more regular interview-style pods!

In this episode, the trio discuss the first arc (ep 6-9); where a group of younglings go on a quest to Ilum for their lightsaber (Kyber) crystals with Ahsoka & Yoda and then meet Huyang to help construct them, where they are interrupted by a certain pirate; Hondo! After going through the numerous characters, plot points and special effects of the original, the gang talk about the same things in Legacy while comparing them to TRON. Special effects and visuals are a huge part of TRON’s appeal, but is it enough to make a satisfying sequel? In this release, M&M first speak about EPCOT*! They talk about their expectations and what they actually experienced in the park; from the Guardians Of The Galaxy & Mission: SPACE rides, to the 11 countries at EPCOT lake, to the aquarium & attractions focusing on sustainability of earth. The following day, M&M went to Animal Kingdom for the first time to experience the safari, rides like Everest and the Avatar/Pandora area. After this, M&M talk about their 4 remaining days at Disney and the sort of “gap-filling” that they did, to go park hopping and have different experiences to their 4 “main” days at each park, including meeting characters, going on the newest ride; Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, having more food, going to Disney Springs and so much more, before they describe their return home and favourite parts of Disney World! *EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow.

In this release, M&M talk about their second week in the USA, where they spent their time in Yosemite National Park and the nearby town of Oakhurst! They started with a breather after Vegas, before embarking on a 4 hour hike up to Wawona Point (within Mariposa Grove), the following day they ventured to Bass Lake, before going to Yosemite Valley on day 3 – they drove in & out of Yosemite and were staying in a trailer, surrounded by nature, for 5 nights and loved their time there!
