Microsoft has abandoned plans to integrate Copilot into Windows 11 system interfaces, including notifications, Settings, and File Explorer, according to sources familiar with the company's plans. The features were first announced in 2024 alongside Copilot+ PCs by Microsoft EVP Yusef Mehdi, but never shipped, even in preview form.

When contacted for comment, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed the company's approach:

"Some experiences we may preview privately and update before rolling out more broadly, while others we may preview and iterate publicly with feedback from Windows Insiders. In both of these cases, features may change, be removed, or replaced over time as we gather input from customers."

What Microsoft Announced Versus What Actually Shipped

The original 2024 plan positioned Copilot as an umbrella AI layer across Windows 11, capable of handling actions inside notifications, Settings, and File Explorer without opening additional apps.

None of those features arrived. According to sources, the plan was paused shortly after Windows Recall was delayed, as Microsoft redirected resources to address issues with that feature.

When AI functionality eventually returned to Settings and File Explorer, it arrived without the Copilot brand. Settings received a semantic search with contextual configuration suggestions. File Explorer received an AI actions menu, but the current implementation hands off tasks to other apps rather than handling them directly as originally demonstrated. The Windows Copilot Runtime was also renamed to "Windows AI APIs."

Canceled: Copilot-Powered Notifications in Windows 11

The most complete cancellation involves Copilot suggestions in notifications, which would have surfaced one-click actions such as opening a file or replying to a message directly from app notifications. Microsoft has no plans to ship this as a Copilot feature. The underlying concept may be revisited in the future in a different form, according to sources, but no timeline or alternative has been confirmed.

Microsoft’s Broader Shift Away From Copilot Branding in Windows 11

The Copilot brand on Windows 11 is now primarily associated with Microsoft 365 integrations rather than system-level features. Sources say Microsoft is actively working to reduce AI presence across the OS this year in response to user criticism and stock drop over bloat.

AI features that remain will be optional and can be disabled, according to sources. Microsoft has not made a public statement specifically outlining which features will be retained or removed as part of this effort.

Going forward, Microsoft plans to be more selective about where AI appears, and many AI features will be optional or easier to disable. The company hopes that scaling back the Copilot presence will help improve user sentiment toward Windows 11 while still allowing AI tools to exist where they are most useful.

Google has released an out-of-band Chrome update to fix two high-severity zero-day vulnerabilities being actively exploited in the wild. The update is available now for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

"Google is aware that exploits for both CVE-2026-3909 & CVE-2026-3910 exist in the wild," Google said in a security advisory published on Thursday.

Target versions: Windows (146.0.7680.75), macOS (146.0.7680.76), and Linux (146.0.7680.75).

The Two Zero-Day Vulnerabilities

CVE-2026-3909 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in Skia, the open-source 2D graphics library Chrome uses to render web content and user interface elements. Out-of-bounds write flaws in rendering components can allow attackers to crash the browser or achieve code execution.

CVE-2026-3910 is an inappropriate implementation vulnerability in V8, Chrome's JavaScript and WebAssembly engine. Google has not published technical details for either flaw while the update is still rolling out to users.

Google discovered both vulnerabilities internally and issued patches within two days of reporting.

How to Install the Emergency Chrome Update

Chrome updates automatically, but the fix can be applied immediately by going to Settings > Help > About Google Chrome. The browser will check for and install the update, requiring a relaunch to apply.

Google states the update could take days or weeks to reach all users through the standard rollout process.

Context and Previous Chrome Zero-Day Exploits

These are the second and third actively exploited Chrome zero-days patched in 2026. The first, CVE-2026-2441, an iterator invalidation bug in CSSFontFeatureValuesMap, was fixed in mid-February. Google patched eight actively exploited Chrome zero-days across all of 2025.

Google has not shared details about the attacks exploiting these flaws and states that bug details will remain restricted until a majority of users have applied the fix.

Instagram has confirmed it will remove end-to-end encryption from direct messages on May 8, 2026. The change was detailed in an updated Instagram Help Center page titled "What is end-to-end encryption on Instagram," first reported by PiunikaWeb. Some users received an in-app notification about the change when opening Instagram.

Meta has not published a statement explaining the decision.

Instagram Messages Will No Longer Be End-to-End Encrypted

End-to-end encryption ensures that only the sender and recipient can read messages, preventing third parties (including the platform itself) from accessing the content.

Once the change takes effect, Instagram DMs will no longer have this protection, meaning conversations could potentially be accessed or reviewed by the company or other authorized parties. The announcement has quickly sparked debate online, with many users expressing concerns about losing a key privacy feature.

How to Download Your Instagram Messages Before Encryption Ends

Instagram says users will have an option to download their messages and media before encryption is removed. The platform will provide instructions inside the app explaining how to save any conversations or content that may be affected. If the option does not appear, users may need to update the app to the latest version.

End of Encryption May Be Linked to Safety Regulations

Meta has not provided a detailed explanation for the change, but some reports suggest it could be related to regulatory pressure and safety concerns, particularly around illegal content in private messages.

Governments in several regions have pushed platforms to improve their ability to detect harmful or illegal activity in messaging services, something that is difficult when strong encryption is in place.

Instagram’s Focus on Teen Safety

Alongside this change, Instagram has continued to expand safety features for younger users. The platform recently introduced AI tools to detect teen accounts, automatically applying stricter privacy settings and limiting who can contact those users.

While the company says these measures are meant to improve safety, the removal of end-to-end encryption is likely to remain controversial among users who prioritize private and secure messaging.

OpenAI has confirmed that ChatGPT ads are not expanding globally; for now, it's only limited to the United States. The clarification follows user reports on Reddit noting that an updated OpenAI privacy policy contains references to ads, which led to speculation about a broader rollout.

OpenAI stated it has nothing new to share about a global expansion timeline.

ChatGPT Ads Currently Limited to U.S. Users

OpenAI first introduced ads in ChatGPT on February 9, 2026, rolling them out gradually to users in the U.S. The company says it is taking a phased approach to learn from early usage before considering wider expansion.

At the moment, ads appear only to Logged-in users in the U.S. and Users on Free and Go plans. Subscribers on higher paid tiers do not see ads.

Advertising Appears Below ChatGPT Answers

OpenAI says the advertisements are clearly labeled and placed below ChatGPT responses rather than inside the answers themselves. The company also states that advertisers cannot influence or modify ChatGPT’s responses.

According to OpenAI:

Ads run on separate systems from the chat model

Advertisers cannot rank or shape AI responses

Seeing an ad does not mean OpenAI endorses the product

ChatGPT's Privacy Safeguards in Place

OpenAI also stressed that user conversations are not shared with advertisers. Advertisers cannot access chat history, conversations, personal details, or ChatGPT memory data. Additionally, ads are not shown to users under 18, based on behavioral signals.

No Timeline for GPT Ads Global Expansion

OpenAI says it has nothing new to share about expanding ads internationally. For now, the company appears focused on testing the system in the U.S. market before deciding whether to roll it out more widely.

OpenAI has not provided a timeline for when ads will expand beyond the United States.

Microsoft has released an out-of-band hotpatch update, KB5084597, to fix three remote code execution vulnerabilities in the Windows Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) management tool. The update targets Windows 11 Enterprise devices enrolled in the hotpatch program that did not receive the fixes through the standard March 2026 Patch Tuesday cumulative update.

The three vulnerabilities are tracked as CVE-2026-25172, CVE-2026-25173, and CVE-2026-26111. All three were addressed in the March 10 Patch Tuesday release for standard Windows 11 devices.

How Attackers Can Exploit These RRAS Vulnerabilities

According to Microsoft's advisory, an attacker authenticated on the domain could exploit these flaws by tricking a domain-joined user into sending a request to a malicious server through the RRAS snap-in. Successful exploitation allows remote code execution on the affected device.

Microsoft states the issue applies only to Enterprise client devices running hotpatch updates and used for remote server management.

Why a Separate Hotpatch Was Needed

Standard cumulative updates require a device reboot to apply fixes. Hotpatch updates work differently: they apply vulnerability fixes through in-memory patching of running processes, allowing the fix to take effect immediately without a restart. The patched files are also written to disk so the fixes persist after the next scheduled reboot.

This approach is designed for mission-critical devices where unplanned reboots are not practical. Microsoft notes it had previously released hotfixes for these same vulnerabilities but re-released KB5084597 to ensure coverage across all affected scenarios.

Affected Windows 11 Versions and Deployment

The update applies to Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2, as well as Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024. KB5084597 is cumulative and includes all fixes from the March 2026 security update.

The hotpatch will only be offered to devices enrolled in the hotpatch update program and managed through Windows Autopatch. On enrolled devices, installation is automatic and does not require a restart. Devices not enrolled in the program received the fix through the standard March 10 Patch Tuesday update.

A new concept video has reimagined what Windows 7 might look like in 2026 if Microsoft had continued developing the operating system. Created by concept designer Addy Visuals, the project presents a modernized version of the classic OS while keeping the design elements that made Windows 7 popular.

Windows 7 officially reached the end of support, but the operating system still has a loyal user base that prefers its simplicity over newer Windows versions.

A 2026 Take on a Classic Windows 7 Version

The Windows 7 2026 Edition concept combines familiar design elements with features inspired by modern versions of Windows. The concept keeps the iconic Windows 7 interface, including the left-aligned taskbar and classic visual style, while adding improvements similar to those found in Windows 11.

The redesigned system also introduces a new File Explorer interface, modernized system menus, and improved search functionality.

Clippy Returns To Windows, Instead of Copilot

One of the most unusual elements in the concept is the return of Clippy, Microsoft’s classic Office assistant. In the video, Clippy appears as a local AI assistant that can help users with simple tasks such as organizing files or managing folders.

The concept also removes Copilot, Microsoft’s AI assistant, which is currently integrated into Windows 11.

The 2026 Concept Brings Gadgets and Improved Search

The concept reintroduces several features from earlier Windows versions. For example, desktop gadgets return as customizable widgets that can display information such as weather or system stats.

Search has also been redesigned to quickly locate files even when users misspell words or provide incomplete search queries.

A Vision of What Windows Could Have Been

While the concept is not an official Microsoft project, it highlights the ongoing interest in older Windows versions. Many users still consider Windows 7 one of Microsoft’s best operating systems, thanks to its balance of performance, simplicity, and usability.

The Windows 7 2026 Edition concept offers a glimpse of what the OS might look like today if Microsoft had continued refining it instead of moving to newer Windows designs.

Windows 7 reached the end of support in January 2020. Microsoft has not indicated any plans to revive the operating system or its design language in future Windows releases.

Google has announced a new Game Trials feature for Google Play that allows users to try paid games before purchasing them. The system lets players jump into the full version of a game at no cost for a limited time. If they decide to buy the title afterward, their progress will carry over so they can continue where they left off.

Google says the feature aims to make it easier for users to discover and purchase premium games.

Users Can Try Paid Games Before Buying

Game Trials will allow players to test paid mobile games without any upfront payment. Instead of watching gameplay videos or reading reviews, users will be able to experience the actual game before deciding whether it is worth purchasing.

If a player chooses to buy the game after the trial, all saved progress will transfer automatically. Google says the feature will begin rolling out to select paid games on mobile first, with support for Google Play Games on PC planned later.

Buy Once, Play on Mobile and PC

Google is also introducing a “Buy once, play anywhere” pricing system for select paid games. With this system, purchasing a game on Google Play will provide both the mobile and PC versions of the title, eliminating the need to buy the same game twice.

The feature is initially rolling out to games such as Reigns, OTTTD, and Dungeon Clawler.

Google Play Expanding Its Premium Game Library

The announcement comes alongside Google’s efforts to expand the number of paid games available on the Play Store. Google says more indie titles will arrive on the platform in 2026, including games such as Moonlight Peaks, Sledging Game, and low-budget Repairs.

These titles will be playable across mobile devices and Windows PCs through Google Play Games, with player progress synced across devices through the Gamer Profile system.

New Tools for Google Play Game Communities

Google also highlighted new social and support features inside Google Play. The Community Posts feature allows players to ask questions, share tips, and discuss gameplay directly within the Play Store. The feature is currently available in English for dozens of games, with more languages planned.

In addition, Google is expanding Play Games Sidekick, an in-game overlay that provides AI-generated tips and gameplay guidance while playing supported titles.

Together with Game Trials, these updates are part of Google’s broader effort to strengthen Google Play’s gaming ecosystem for both mobile and PC players.

Google has announced that Chrome for ARM64 Linux will be available in the second quarter of 2026, sometime between April and June. The release will bring full Chrome functionality to Raspberry Pi boards, Pinebook laptops, Mac computers running Asahi Linux, and other 64-bit ARM hardware.

Why Chrome on ARM64 Linux Matters

ARM Linux users have had access to builds of Chromium, the open-source project Chrome is based on, for years. Chromium is not identical to Chrome. It does not support Google account sync, has limited DRM playback, and lacks several proprietary features tied to Google's ecosystem. Official Chrome builds resolve those gaps, bringing the browser in line with what is available on Windows, macOS, x86 Linux, and Chromebooks.

Google stated the release "addresses the growing demand for a browsing experience that combines the benefits of the open-source Chromium project with the Google ecosystem of apps and features."

Long Overdue for ARM Hardware

Support for ARM processors has expanded significantly across operating systems in recent years. Google released Chrome for Apple Silicon Macs in 2020, followed by ARM-native Chrome builds for Windows in 2024. Linux remained the last major platform without an official ARM64 version.

This is notable because ARM-powered Chromebooks have existed since 2012, and ChromeOS itself is based on Linux.

Which Devices Will Benefit from ARM64 Chrome?

The new ARM64 Chrome builds will allow a wider range of devices to run the official browser, including Raspberry Pi boards, Pinebook ARM laptops, Mac computers running Asahi Linux, and other ARM-based Linux systems.

What This Means for ARM Linux Users

Although many Linux users already rely on Chromium or Firefox, the official Chrome release provides another option for those who want full integration with the Google ecosystem.

For ARM Linux systems used in development, education, or lightweight computing environments, the arrival of official Chrome builds could significantly improve the overall browsing experience.

How to Get Chrome for ARM64 Linux

Users will be able to download the browser directly from the official Chrome download page, and it may also appear in Linux software repositories. Google has not confirmed an exact release date within the Q2 window. The browser may also appear in third-party software repositories.

Apple has released security updates for older iPhones and iPads to address vulnerabilities targeted by the Coruna exploit kit, which has been used in cyberespionage and cryptocurrency theft attacks since February 2025. The patches cover devices that cannot run the latest iOS version and are not eligible for earlier fixes applied to newer hardware.

"This update brings that fix to devices that cannot update to the latest iOS version," Apple stated in the security advisories published Wednesday.

Apple Patches Coruna Exploits Used in Real Attacks Since Early 2025

The Coruna exploit kit has been linked to several attack campaigns since early 2025. Security researchers say it includes multiple exploit chains capable of gaining remote code execution or kernel-level privileges on vulnerable devices.

Apple’s updates address several vulnerabilities targeted by the framework, including:

CVE-2023-41974: Kernel use-after-free vulnerability fixed with improved memory management

CVE-2024-23222: WebKit type confusion issue addressed with improved checks

CVE-2023-43000: WebKit use-after-free vulnerability

CVE-2023-43010: WebKit memory handling flaw

Many of these issues were previously fixed in newer versions of iOS but had not yet been patched on older devices.

Devices Affected by the Coruna Exploit Kit

The updates apply to devices running iOS 15.8.7 and iPadOS 15.8.7, as well as iOS 16.7.15 and iPadOS 16.7.15. Affected hardware includes:

iPhone 6s (all models), iPhone 7 (all models), iPhone SE (1st generation), iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X

iPad Air 2, iPad mini (4th generation), iPad (5th generation), iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation), and iPod touch (7th generation)

Three Threat Groups Using the Coruna Exploit Kit

According to Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG), the Coruna exploit kit has been used by at least three distinct threat groups since February 2025. These include a suspected Russian state-backed group tracked as UNC6353, a surveillance vendor customer, and a financially motivated Chinese threat actor tracked as UNC6691.

UNC6691 deployed the exploit kit through fake gambling and cryptocurrency websites to deliver malware that stole cryptocurrency wallet data from infected devices.

CISA Orders U.S. Agencies to Patch Coruna-Exploited Vulnerabilities

The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) recently added several vulnerabilities exploited by Coruna to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

Federal agencies have been ordered to apply the patches to affected devices by March 26 to reduce the risk of compromise. Apple recommends that users update their devices as soon as possible to ensure they are protected against these vulnerabilities through Settings > General > Software Update.

Apple has not indicated whether further backported patches for this exploit kit are planned.

YouTube is expanding unskippable 30-second ads to its connected YouTube TV app, Google has confirmed. The format joins the existing mix of 6-second bumpers and 15-second ads, with Google's AI-driven ad system selecting which format plays based on engagement signals.

The move follows a record year for the platform, which generated $40.4 billion in advertising revenue. The change signals YouTube’s increasing focus on TV viewing, which has become one of the fastest-growing ways people watch the platform.

30-Second Unskippable Ads Coming to YouTuve TV

The new ad format will appear only on connected TVs, including smart TVs and streaming devices running the YouTube app. Google says its advertising system will use AI to dynamically choose between several ad formats, including 6-second bumper ads, 15-second ads, and 30-second unskippable TV ads.

According to Google, the longer ad format is designed to reach viewers watching YouTube in a “living-room environment,” where audiences are typically more relaxed and engaged. For viewers, however, this means ads that cannot be skipped, similar to traditional television commercial breaks.

YouTube Generated $40.4 Billion in Ad Revenue in 2025

The expansion follows a record year for YouTube's ad business. YouTube generated $40.4 billion in ad revenue in 2025, exceeding the combined advertising totals of Disney, NBC, Paramount, and Warner Bros. Discovery, which together brought in $37.8 billion. Alphabet reported total YouTube revenue of approximately $60 billion for the year, with subscriptions accounting for a portion alongside advertising.

Connected TVs are the fastest-growing audience segment for YouTube, according to Google, which is why the platform is targeting the format there first.

What Changes for YouTube TV Users

YouTube has been increasing efforts to limit ad blockers and encourage users to subscribe to its paid services.

Ads that could previously be skipped after a few seconds will now run in full on TV. Users who want to avoid the format have one option: a YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite subscription. Google has not announced any setting to opt out of the 30-second format without a paid plan.

Google Tests The Patience Of Its Users

With the introduction of unskippable TV ads, Google appears to be testing how much advertising viewers will tolerate before choosing to pay for subscriptions instead. Google has not confirmed a timeline for how broadly the 30-second format will roll out or whether it will expand beyond connected TVs.

The company confirmed the feature in a post from Jason Ronald, Vice President of Next Generation, outlining its gaming plans.

Xbox mode delivers what Microsoft describes as a "controller-optimized experience" with a distraction-free interface designed to keep users in a gaming context. Users can switch back to the standard Windows desktop at any time.

An Xbox-Like Experience on Windows PCs

Xbox mode will provide a controller-optimized interface designed to make Windows PCs feel more like a gaming console. Microsoft says the mode will offer a clean, distraction-free interface that keeps players focused on games while still allowing them to switch back to the traditional Windows desktop whenever needed.

The feature will work across multiple Windows 11 device types, including laptops, desktop PCs, and tablets. The idea is to make gaming more consistent across platforms while also giving developers a simpler way to release games for both PC and Xbox.

Microsoft Continues Blending Xbox and PC Gaming

Microsoft has already taken steps toward merging the two ecosystems. For example, devices like the ROG Ally handheld gaming PC already allow users to switch between a standard Windows interface and a gaming-focused environment.

Xbox mode appears to expand this concept to a much broader range of Windows PCs.

It is not yet clear whether Xbox mode will appear in Windows 11 Pro, the edition commonly used in business environments. Some observers expect Microsoft to limit the feature to consumer versions of Windows to avoid unnecessary gaming tools appearing on work devices.

However, organizations that allow bring-your-own-device (BYOD) setups could still encounter PCs with the gaming interface enabled.

Windows Integration Is A Part of Microsoft’s Gaming Strategy

The announcement was made alongside early details about Project Helix, Microsoft’s future gaming platform. Project Helix is expected to power upcoming Xbox hardware built around a custom AMD system-on-chip, with significant improvements in graphics and ray tracing performance.

Developer versions of the new platform are expected to arrive in 2027, suggesting Microsoft is already laying the groundwork for the next generation of Xbox gaming while expanding the role of Windows PCs in the ecosystem.

Google has announced a new optimization technique designed to improve the performance of Android devices. The change focuses on the Android kernel, the core part of the operating system that manages hardware and system processes.

The new technology, called Automatic Feedback-Directed Optimization (AutoFDO), will help Android devices run faster and more efficiently by analyzing how apps behave in real-world scenarios.

Android Will Use Real-World Data to Optimize Performance

Traditionally, Android’s system components have been optimized using static code analysis, which applies general performance improvements regardless of how people actually use their devices. AutoFDO changes this approach by allowing the system to optimize itself using real usage data.

Google’s Android LLVM toolchain team gathers this data by testing the top 100 Android apps and analyzing how they interact with the system. The information is then used to guide the compiler so it can make smarter decisions about how Android should run. This allows the system to better optimize tasks such as app launches, background processes, and system responsiveness.

Expected Android Performance Improvements

Google states users should see a snappier interface, faster app switching, improved battery life, and a more responsive device overall. The profiles powering AutoFDO require ongoing updates to remain effective, and Google says it will continue monitoring and retraining the data to maintain performance.

AutoFDO Update Already Used in Recent Android Versions

Google says the new optimization profiles are already being used across Android 15, Android 16, and Android 17 development builds. The company continues to update these performance profiles to ensure devices remain optimized as Android evolves.

While Android devices are already known for being fast on modern hardware, these changes aim to make the experience even smoother across a wide range of devices, including older smartphones.

With Android 17 expected later this year, Google appears to be focusing heavily on performance and efficiency improvements alongside new features.

Google Photos is rolling out a new toggle in its search interface that lets users switch between AI-powered Ask Photos results and the traditional keyword-based search. Google Photos lead Shimrit Ben-Yair announced the change on X.

Previously, switching between search modes required navigating into settings. The toggle now appears directly in the search UI, allowing users to move between "fast classic search" and "intelligent Ask Photos results" within the same query.

Switch Between AI and Classic Search

Google defaults to whichever result type it determines best fits the query. With the new toggle, users can quickly switch between AI-powered “Ask Photos” results and traditional keyword-based search. Google says the change was introduced after feedback from users who sometimes preferred the faster and more predictable classic search experience.

By default, Google Photos will still show the results it believes best match the query. However, users can now manually switch views if the AI results aren’t what they expected. The goal is to combine the flexibility of AI search with the reliability of traditional keyword searches.

Google Photos Search Quality Improvements

Google has also improved the accuracy of search results for popular queries. According to the company, searches for terms like “turtles,” “purple dress,” and “lipstick” should now return more accurate results thanks to improvements in the underlying system.

At the same time, the Ask Photos feature continues expanding globally and is now available in more than 100 countries, with rollout in Europe beginning this week.

"More From This Date" Feature Shows Every Photo From That Day

Ben-Yair also confirmed a separate feature currently in rollout: "More from this date." When viewing a photo after a search, the date displayed at the top of the image becomes a tappable link that jumps directly to that day in the main timeline. The feature makes it easier to browse the full context around a specific memory without manually scrolling through the photo library.

How to Get the New Google Photos Update

Both changes are server-side rollouts and do not require a Google Photos app update. Users who do not see the toggle or tappable date targets yet should expect the features to appear within the coming days.

Intel has announced two new desktop processors (the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus) as part of its Arrow Lake Refresh lineup. The company hopes the new chips will help strengthen its position in the desktop gaming market after several challenging CPU generations.

Both processors focus on hybrid core designs, improved memory speeds, and software optimization tools to deliver better gaming and productivity performance. Retail availability is expected to begin on March 26.

Intel Core Ultra 270K Plus and 250K Plus Specs, Pricing, and Key Features

The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus carries 24 cores and 24 threads across eight performance cores and 16 efficiency cores, matching the core configuration of the higher-end Core Ultra 9 285K. P-cores boost to 5.5GHz with a 4.1GHz base. Efficiency cores run at a 3.4GHz base, 100MHz higher than the previous generation. A CPU-to-memory controller link running 900MHz faster improves data throughput between the processor and system memory. The chip is priced at $300 and maintains a 125W TDP.

The Core Ultra 5 250K Plus sits at $200 with 18 cores: six P-cores at 4.4GHz base and 12 E-cores at 3.7GHz. It carries 30MB of Smart Cache, 6MB more than the 245K. Intel claims a 103% average multicore advantage over the Ryzen 5 9600X based on first-party testing. A KF variant without integrated graphics will also be available for builds using a discrete GPU.

Both chips support DDR5-7200 memory. Higher-density 4-rank CUDIMM support is coming to compatible 800-series motherboards through new board variants arriving later in 2026.

Binary Optimization Tool for Improved Gaming Performance

Alongside the hardware refresh, Intel introduced a new Binary Optimization Tool designed to improve game performance. The system works as a binary translation layer, optimizing certain titles without requiring developers to update their code. According to Intel’s internal testing:

Shadow of the Tomb Raider showed up to 39% performance improvement

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows saw smaller gains of around 4%

Independent benchmarks will ultimately determine how the new processors perform compared to competitors.

Intel Continues Its Hybrid CPU Strategy

Rather than introducing a completely new model, the Arrow Lake Refresh generation focuses on smaller upgrades to Intel’s hybrid core design and software optimization. The chips continue Intel’s approach of pairing performance cores with large numbers of efficiency cores to boost multithreaded performance and improve power efficiency.

With AMD still pushing hard in desktop CPUs, these new processors are Intel’s latest effort to win back ground in the gaming desktop market.

Independent third-party benchmark results are not yet available ahead of the March 26 launch.

Sonos has quietly restored Android media playback controls in its mobile app, fixing one of the most widely criticized changes introduced in the major app redesign released in 2024.

The overhaul was intended to make the Sonos app "faster, easier, and better," but it also removed several features that users relied on. One of the most notable omissions was support for Android's native media and volume controls, which allow users to manage audio from the notification shade or lock screen.

After nearly two years of complaints, the feature is finally returning.

Android Playback Controls Inside The Sonos App Are Back

With the latest update, the Sonos app once again supports Android's MediaSession system, enabling standard playback controls directly in the system interface. Users can now play, pause, skip tracks, and navigate audio from both the notification shade and the lock screen without opening the Sonos app.

The feature works the same way it does in other popular music and podcast apps on Android that integrate with the platform's native media control system.

How the Fix Of Android Media Playback Controls Was Discovered

The return of the feature was first spotted by Reddit user u/edfosho1, who shared a screenshot showing Sonos playback controls appearing in the notification panel. Shortly afterward, a Sonos employee confirmed in the same thread that the company had begun rolling out the update to all users.

Sonos has not published release notes or a formal announcement for the change.

How to Access the Update

Open the Google Play Store and update the Sonos app to the latest version. If the update is not yet visible, the rollout is still in progress and should reach remaining users within a few days.

OpenAI has rolled out two separate updates to ChatGPT this week: a Shazam integration for in-app music recognition and a new interactive visual system for math and science topics. Both features are designed to make ChatGPT more useful for everyday tasks and learning.

ChatGPT Can Now Identify Songs Using Shazam

ChatGPT can now identify songs through a direct Shazam integration, allowing users to recognize music without opening the Shazam app. The feature works through ChatGPT's Apps section, where Shazam must be connected manually. It is not enabled by default.

Once connected, users can trigger recognition by typing commands such as "Shazam" or "Shazam this song." ChatGPT listens to surrounding audio, runs it through Shazam's recognition system, and returns the song title, artist name, and album artwork within the conversation. A track preview is also available directly from the results.

The integration works even if the standalone Shazam app is not installed. If it is installed, identified songs can be saved to the Shazam library. After identification, users can ask ChatGPT to find similar tracks, retrieve artist information, or build a playlist based on the result. The feature is available on iOS and Android.

Interactive Visual Explanations for Math and Science Inside GPT

OpenAI has also introduced dynamic visual explanations, a feature designed to help users understand complex math and science topics. Instead of only providing written explanations, ChatGPT can now display interactive diagrams and visual modules that respond to user input.

For example, when exploring the Pythagorean theorem, users can adjust the sides of a triangle and watch the hypotenuse update in real time. Changing numbers or variables immediately updates the visual model.

The feature currently supports more than 70 topics, including area of a circle, linear equations, compound interest, kinetic energy, Ohm’s law, exponential decay, and Coulomb’s law

Users can trigger these visuals by asking questions like “How do I calculate compound interest?” or “What is the lens equation?”

OpenAI Is Expanding ChatGPT’s Role Beyond Just Text

According to OpenAI, more than 140 million people use ChatGPT weekly for help with math and science, making education one of the assistant’s largest use cases.

OpenAI says the interactive visual system will expand to more topics in the future, while integrations like Shazam show how ChatGPT is gradually becoming a hub for multiple apps and services.

The feature is available to all logged-in ChatGPT users. Google's Gemini launched a comparable interactive diagrams feature in November 2025.

Meta conitnues it's acquisition journey of AI startups. This time, Meta has announced it is acquiring Moltbook, a social network built exclusively for AI agents to post and interact with each other. The company confirmed it is hiring Moltbook co-founders Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Meta stated in an announcement that Moltbook introduced novel ideas in a "rapidly developing space" and will open "new ways for AI agents to work for people and businesses."

Moltbook Is A Social Network Built for AI Agents

Moltbook functions as a Reddit-like platform where AI agent systems, rather than human users, generate posts and interact with each other. The platform attracted viral attention in the weeks before the acquisition.

The platform is built on technology developed by OpenClaw, formerly called Moltbot. OpenClaw runs locally on a user's device, allowing it to access files, manage data, and connect with messaging applications, including Discord and Signal. Users create OpenClaw agents and direct them to join Moltbook.

Shortly after launch, cloud security firm Wiz published a report identifying security vulnerabilities in the platform. Those vulnerabilities have since been patched. Questions about the authenticity of content posted on Moltbook also circulated during its first week.

OpenAI Has Also Acquired AI Agents Startup

Meta's acquisition follows a similar move by OpenAI. The company hired Peter Steinberger, creator of OpenClaw, last month. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Steinberger would join to work on "the next generation of personal agents" designed to interact with each other to perform tasks on behalf of users.

OpenAI also announced this week that it is acquiring Promptfoo, a security platform that tests the behavior and risk profile of AI agents. Financial terms for that deal were also not disclosed.

Moltbook’s Security Concerns Raised Early

Moltbook’s rapid rise also sparked security concerns shortly after launch. Researchers from cloud security firm Wiz reported vulnerabilities in the platform that could expose data or allow unintended access. According to the report referenced in the article, those issues have since been addressed.

Despite the early concerns, Meta’s acquisition signals growing interest in platforms where AI agents communicate and coordinate with each other, potentially forming the foundation for future AI-driven services and workflows.

Meta has not provided a timeline for integrating Moltbook into its existing products or platforms.

Google has updated Gemini inside Google Workspace to generate Docs, Sheets, Slides, and other file types from a single text prompt, drawing information from Gmail, Drive, and Chat in the process. The features are rolling out in beta starting today, according to Google.

Access requires an AI Pro ($20 per month) or AI Ultra subscription for individual users. Enterprise customers need a supported Workspace plan, such as Business Standard or higher, plus a Google AI Pro or Ultra add-on, and must be enrolled in the Gemini Alpha program. The program is off by default and must be enabled by a Google Workspace administrator through the Admin console under Menu > Generative AI > Gemini for Workspace.

Google Drive updates are currently limited to U.S. customers in English. Docs, Sheets, and Slides features are available in English globally.

Gemini Can Create Workspace Files from a Single Prompt

One of the biggest updates allows Gemini to generate full Workspace documents directly from natural-language prompts.

For example, users could ask Gemini to draft a newsletter using meeting notes stored in Drive and event details from Gmail, and the system will create a formatted document automatically. The feature updates across multiple apps:

Google Docs receives a "Help me create" feature that generates a formatted first draft from a plain-text description. Gemini accesses Drive, Gmail, and Chat to populate the document with relevant content. A prompt such as "Draft a newsletter using the meeting minutes from my January HOA meeting and the list of upcoming events" produces a structured document rather than a generic template.

Google Sheets gains a "Fill with Gemini" function that auto-populates tables with categorized or summarized data. Google conducted a 95-participant internal study claiming the feature completed 100-cell tasks 9 times faster than manual entry. Users can also describe optimization goals, such as scheduling staff to maximize profit, and Gemini handles the multi-step construction.

Google Slides can now convert rough brainstorm sketches into editable diagrams and generate slide layouts that match an existing deck's theme. Google says a feature that generates an entire presentation from a single prompt using a reference document is coming, but has not confirmed a release date.

Google Drive is being repositioned from file storage to what Google describes as an "active knowledge base." New capabilities include AI Overviews that surface summarized answers with citations at the top of Drive search results, cross-file queries through an "Ask Gemini" function, and a Projects feature for saving and sharing curated source lists while maintaining existing security controls.

Multiple Gemini Models Powering the Workspace Update

The Workspace updates run on multiple Google AI models rather than a single engine. Gemini 3 Flash handles summarization and high-speed tasks. Gemini 3 Deep Think covers complex reasoning. Sheets optimization uses Google's OR-Tools alongside DeepMind logic models. A model generates slide layouts, Google calls Nano Banana 2. Video and audio generation use Veo and Lyria 3, respectively, both of which include SynthID watermarking.

Gemini Responses Are Not Used To Train Global Models

Google states that the company data used to ground Gemini responses is not used to train global models. Enterprise-grade data protections apply to all Workspace AI features within the Gemini Alpha program.

Google Workspace reported 3 billion monthly active users as of early 2026, with approximately 11 million paying business customers. Google has not confirmed when the beta features will reach general availability.

Google is continuing to expand the capabilities of NotebookLM with a new feature that may appeal to students and researchers. The company has added support for EPUB files, allowing users to upload ebooks directly into the AI-powered notebook tool. The update removes the need to convert ebooks into PDFs before adding them to NotebookLM.

EPUB Books Can Now Be Used As Sources

EPUB is one of the most widely used digital book formats. Compared with PDFs, EPUB files typically have smaller file sizes and use reflowable text that adapts better to different screen sizes.

With the update, users can upload EPUB ebooks to NotebookLM and use them as source material for AI features. Once uploaded, NotebookLM can:

Generate summaries of book chapters

Create Audio or Video Overviews

Produce slide decks and study materials

Turn ebook libraries into searchable knowledge bases

This makes it easier to analyze and study long books without manually scanning through the entire text.

Support for EPUB Is Useful for students and researchers

NotebookLM is primarily designed for people who work with large amounts of information, including students, academics, and researchers.

With EPUB support, users can upload multiple ebooks and reference materials to build an AI-powered study library. NotebookLM can then analyze the content and answer questions based on those sources. The feature could be particularly useful for students working with multiple textbooks or reading lists.

NotebookLM Removes An Earlier Limitation Of EPUB

Before the update, NotebookLM supported PDFs and other document formats but did not allow direct EPUB uploads. Users who maintained ebook libraries often had to convert EPUB files into PDFs before adding them to the platform. The new update removes this extra step.

NotebookLM Continues To Evolve

Google has been rapidly expanding NotebookLM’s capabilities in recent months. The platform now integrates with Gemini, Google’s AI model family, and supports new features such as Cinematic Video Overviews that generate animated explanations from documents.

Despite these improvements, some features are still missing. Users have pointed out that NotebookLM lacks tools for organizing notebooks into folders and does not yet provide simple one-click export options for generated content.

Google is expected to continue adding new features as NotebookLM evolves into a more advanced AI research assistant.

Google says hackers are increasingly breaking into cloud environments by exploiting newly disclosed software vulnerabilities, rather than relying on weak credentials or configuration mistakes.

According to Google’s latest threat report, vulnerability exploitation was the main initial access method in 44.5% of cloud intrusions investigated in the second half of 2025. Compromised credentials made up 27% of cases. Google says this shift likely reflects stronger account protections and secure-by-default measures that are making credential-based attacks less effective.

Vulnerability Exploitation Window Now Measured in Days

The gap between a vulnerability being disclosed and attackers actively exploiting it has shrunk significantly. Google observed cryptominers being deployed within 48 hours of a vulnerability becoming public, showing how quickly threat actors are able to weaponize newly revealed flaws.

The most common vulnerability type exploited was remote code execution (RCE). The report highlights React2Shell (CVE-2025-55182) and an XWiki vulnerability (CVE-2025-24893), the latter seen in attacks tied to the RondoDox botnet.

Data Theft Remains Hackers Primary Objective

Most of the attacks Google analyzed focused on quiet data exfiltration and maintaining long-term access, rather than going straight for extortion.

Google also points to campaigns linked to Iran, China, and North Korea, including incidents involving cloud persistence, cryptocurrency theft, and abuse of CI/CD pipelines to move deeper into corporate networks.

Cloud Attacks Response Times Are No Longer Enough

Google warns that cloud attacks are now moving faster than manual incident response teams can realistically handle. In some cases, attackers deployed malicious payloads within one hour of a new cloud instance being created. Because of this, the company recommends automated detection and response systems that can quickly contain threats before they spread across cloud environments.

Looking ahead, Google expects cloud threat activity to keep rising through 2026, pointing to global events such as geopolitical tensions, the FIFA World Cup, and U.S. midterm elections as likely drivers of increased cyber operations.

Windows 11 Pro includes several built-in features that can make a work PC more secure, easier to manage, and better suited to hybrid work. Microsoft includes tools such as BitLocker, Hyper-V, Windows Sandbox, Group Policy, and Remote Desktop in the Pro edition, but many users leave them disabled or never configure them after setup.

These features matter most for professionals who use a laptop for travel, work in shared environments, test software, or need secure remote access to a main PC. The goal is not to turn every workstation into an enterprise-managed machine. It is to enable the protections and tools that make the most practical difference in day-to-day work.

Windows 11 Pro Security Features Worth Turning On First

The most important Windows 11 Pro features are the ones that protect a device if it is lost, left unattended, or exposed to malware.

BitLocker should be at the top of the list

(Credit: Mauro Huculak)

It encrypts the drive so that files cannot be read without the correct credentials if the device is stolen or the storage is removed and accessed elsewhere. This is especially important for work laptops. Turning it on is straightforward through Control Panel > System and Security > BitLocker Drive Encryption. The recovery key matters just as much as the encryption itself, so it should be saved somewhere secure and separate from the PC.

Smart App Control is another useful protection layer

(Credit: Mauro Huculak)

Instead of relying only on traditional malware detection, it blocks untrusted or unsigned apps before they run. That can reduce risk for users who regularly download utilities, scripts, or smaller tools from outside major app stores. Microsoft has also made the feature easier to manage, removing some of the earlier friction around enabling or disabling it.

Dynamic Lock for different work locations

(Credit: Mauro Huculak)

Once paired with a phone over Bluetooth, Windows can automatically lock the PC when the phone moves out of range. That helps reduce the chance of leaving a session open when stepping away for a few minutes.

Controlled folder access for Windows Security’s ransomware protection

(Credit: Mauro Huculak)

It blocks unknown apps from changing files in protected folders such as Documents, Pictures, and Desktop. For workers who keep active files on their main device, this adds a useful safeguard against ransomware and destructive malware.

Windows Sandbox and Hyper-V Help With Safer Testing

Windows 11 Pro includes two built-in virtualization tools that are useful for anyone who needs to test software or open files that should not touch the main system.

Windows Sandbox is the lighter and more practical option for most users. It launches a temporary Windows environment inside an isolated session. Anything opened, installed, or changed inside the sandbox disappears when the session closes. That makes it useful for opening suspicious files, checking unknown installers, testing scripts, or demonstrating software without leaving permanent changes on the main PC.

For users who need something more advanced, Hyper-V offers full virtual machine support. It can run other Windows installations, Linux distributions, and additional test environments alongside the main operating system. Developers, IT admins, and advanced users will get more value from Hyper-V than typical office workers, but it remains one of the strongest reasons to choose Windows 11 Pro over Home.

The practical difference is simple. Sandbox is best for quick, disposable testing. Hyper-V is better for repeatable lab-style setups and compatibility work.

Group Policy and Kiosk Mode Are Useful Beyond IT Departments

Some Windows 11 Pro tools are often treated as IT-only features, but they can also be useful for individual professionals and small teams.

Local Group Policy Editor gives access to advanced settings that do not appear in the standard Settings app. It can be used to manage update behavior, tighten security rules, limit device functions, or configure system components in more detail. It is particularly helpful for users who want more control over Windows Update timing or workstation behavior without relying on registry edits.

Assigned Access, also known as kiosk mode, is more specialized but still relevant in shared-device scenarios. It locks a device to a single app and prevents access to the rest of the operating system. That makes sense for reception desks, self-service terminals, training stations, or any environment where a PC should do one job and nothing else.

Not every worker will need either feature, but both show the difference between Pro as a consumer upgrade and Pro as a more manageable workstation platform.

Remote Desktop Remains One of the Most Practical Pro Features

(Credit: Mauro Huculak)

For hybrid work, Remote Desktop is still one of the most useful Windows 11 Pro features. It allows a Pro PC to host a remote session so users can connect to it from another Windows device, tablet, or phone.

That matters when a main office PC contains files, apps, or internal tools that are not easily duplicated on a travel laptop. Once enabled in Settings > System > Remote Desktop, the feature can provide direct access to the main workstation without moving data between devices.

For local network access, setup is straightforward. For remote access outside the office or home network, most users will still need a VPN or another secure access method. That extra setup is worth it for workers who regularly switch between home and office machines.

What Workers Should Enable Now?

Not every Windows 11 Pro feature needs to be turned on at once. For most people, the most useful starting combination is BitLocker, Controlled Folder Access, Dynamic Lock, and Remote Desktop. Those changes improve protection and daily workflow without changing how the PC feels to use.

Windows Sandbox makes sense for anyone who regularly opens unknown files or tests software. Hyper-V is more appropriate for advanced use. Group Policy and Assigned Access are valuable, but mostly when there is a specific management or shared-device need.

Windows 11 Pro is often treated as a version of Windows that simply costs more. In practice, its value comes from the extra controls and protections already included in the operating system. Many of the most useful ones just need to be enabled.

Apple is testing iOS 26.4 with developers and public beta users, with the update introducing RCS end-to-end encryption testing, a security setting change that enables Stolen Device Protection by default, and a range of new features across Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Health. The third beta is currently available, according to Apple's release notes.

A public release is expected sometime in late March or early April, based on the historical release timing of comparable updates.

Apple Music Gains New Features With iOS 26.4

One of the main focuses of iOS 26.4 is the Apple Music app. The update adds a number of improvements, including:

A new Concerts section that shows nearby shows and tour dates for artists in your library

Full-screen animated artwork for albums and playlists

A redesigned Profile page with easier access to account settings and subscriptions

The ability to add a song to multiple playlists at once

AI Playlist Playground

Apple Music also receives a new AI-powered tool called Playlist Playground. This feature uses Apple Intelligence to generate playlists from text prompts. For example, users can type descriptions like “relaxing songs from the 1990s,” and the app will automatically create a playlist. Once created, the playlist can be refined with additional prompts.

New Ambient Music Widgets

iOS 26.4 adds a set of Ambient Music widgets that can be placed on the Home Screen. These widgets allow users to quickly start music designed for specific moods: Chill, Productivity, Sleep, and Wellbeing. The widgets are available in small and medium sizes.

Apple Reminders Gains an Urgent task list

The Reminders app receives a small but useful improvement. Tasks marked as Urgent will now appear in a dedicated Smart List that shows all urgent items in one place. The feature builds on changes introduced earlier that automatically create alarms for urgent reminders.

Encrypted RCS Messaging In Testing

Apple has also added early testing support for end-to-end encryption for RCS messages in the Messages app. When enabled, encrypted chats show a lock icon similar to the one already used for iMessage conversations.

However, Apple says the encryption feature is included only for testing and will arrive in a later iOS update rather than the final iOS 26.4 release.

Apple Podcasts Improves Video Support

The Apple Podcasts app receives a major update focused on video podcasts. The update simplifies switching between watching videos and listening to audio versions of podcasts. Apple is also adding support for dynamic video advertising, with streaming powered by its HLS technology to automatically adjust quality based on connection speed.

Apple Health sleep improvements

iOS 26.4 expands the data available in Apple Health. New additions include:

A new average bedtime metric for tracking sleep habits

The return of Blood Oxygen readings in the Vitals graph

The blood oxygen change follows earlier adjustments related to Apple’s ongoing patent dispute around the feature.

Stolen Device Protection Is Enabled By Default

Apple is also making a security change. Stolen Device Protection will now be enabled by default for iPhone users. The feature requires Face ID authentication and additional security checks when performing sensitive actions away from trusted locations such as home or work.

Many More Changes In iOS 26.4

The update also introduces several smaller interface and system changes:

The Search bar in the App Store has moved back to the top of the Search tab

The Wallpaper Gallery has been redesigned with clearer categories

The Apple Watch face gallery layout has been updated

A new Reduce Highlighting Effects accessibility option has been added

Control Center pop-ups now appear with dark backgrounds in Dark Mode

A new iCloud search setting allows searching Photos and files from iCloud.com

Freeform Creator Studio is now available for subscribers

Release Timeline of iOS 26.4

iOS 26.4 is still in beta testing, and Apple may add or change features before the final release. If testing continues on schedule, the update will likely roll out to all compatible iPhones later this spring.

Apple has not confirmed a final release date for iOS 26.4 or specified which features currently in testing will ship in the final build.

OpenAI has delayed the rollout of ChatGPT's adult mode for the second time, with no new launch date provided. An OpenAI spokesperson told Axios that the company is "pushing out" the release while engineers focus on higher priority work, according to TechCrunch.

The adult mode was first announced by CEO Sam Altman in October 2025, with an initial target of December 2025. That window passed without a release.

"Adult Mode" Is Still Planned, But No New Release Date

OpenAI previously said the adult mode would allow the chatbot to generate more mature or explicit content, including erotica and other adult-themed conversations. However, the company has now confirmed that the feature is being “pushed out” to a later date. No updated launch window has been announced.

An OpenAI spokesperson said the company still supports the idea of offering more flexible content options for adults but wants to ensure the experience works correctly before release.

The spokesperson identified three areas currently taking precedence: intelligence upgrades, personality adjustments, and a more proactive response style from ChatGPT. "We still believe in the principle of treating adults like adults, but getting the experience right will take more time," the spokesperson said.

Age Verification Remains a Key Challenge

One of the technical hurdles for adult mode is ensuring that only verified adults can access it. OpenAI has previously indicated that the feature would require age verification for users over 18, but early testing revealed issues with the detection system.

Improving this verification process is believed to be part of the reason the launch has been postponed.

Launch Comes Amid Broader AI Debates

The delay also arrives during a period of growing debate around AI safety and ethics. OpenAI has recently faced criticism over its partnerships with government agencies and the potential use of AI in surveillance or military applications.

The company has also seen internal disagreements, including the departure of senior employees concerned about AI policies. Because of these ongoing discussions, OpenAI may be cautious about introducing a feature that could trigger additional controversy.

No Launch Date Confirmed For "Adult Mode"

OpenAI has not indicated when development will resume or when a release might be scheduled. The most recent ChatGPT update was the GPT-5.4 Thinking model, which rolled out several days ago and is oriented toward complex reasoning tasks.

The adult mode delay comes during a period of scrutiny for OpenAI. The company recently announced a deal with the U.S. military, which drew criticism over concerns about surveillance and autonomous weapons applications.

OpenAI's head of robotics, Caitlin Kalinowski, resigned following that announcement. A number of earlier staff departures have also cited concerns over the company's safety policies. OpenAI has not commented on whether the current controversy has affected the adult mode timeline.

OPPO has confirmed a global launch for the Find N6 foldable on March 17, according to an official teaser from the company. The announcement highlights a new "Zero-Feel Crease" panel as the device's primary feature.

The upcoming device will follow the OPPO Find N5, which already had one of the least noticeable creases among foldable phones. With the Find N6, OPPO claims it has pushed the technology even further.

Find N6 Introducing A “Zero-Feel Crease” Display

OPPO says the Find N6 will introduce the industry’s first “Zero-Feel Crease” display.

Foldable phones typically show a visible line where the screen bends. This crease is caused by the hinge mechanism used in book-style foldables. According to OPPO, improvements in hinge architecture and display materials allow the Find N6 to reduce this effect significantly during everyday use.

If the company’s claim proves accurate, the Find N6 could set a new benchmark for foldable displays.

OPPO Find 6 Plans To Compete With Other Foldables

The crease has been one of the biggest limitations of foldable phones. Devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel Fold still show a visible crease under certain lighting conditions.

Chinese manufacturers have recently made major improvements in hinge technology, reducing the crease and making foldables thinner and lighter. If OPPO successfully eliminates the crease in normal use, the Find N6 could gain a competitive edge in the foldable market.

A 200-Megapixel Camera and Design Upgrades

OPPO has also hinted at several hardware improvements for the Find N6. The phone is expected to include:

A 200-megapixel camera system tuned with Hasselblad

One of the thinnest foldable designs in its category

Stylus support with a new accessory

Two color options, including orange and Stellar Titanium

The hinge will reportedly feature a gold-accented finish that blends into a rose-gold look.

Foldable phones have improved rapidly in the past few years, but display creases remain one of the most noticeable compromises.

If the Find N6 delivers on its Zero-Feel Crease promise, it could influence the design of future foldables and push competitors to improve their hinge and display technologies.

Global Launch Details Of A New Oppo Phone

OPPO confirmed that the Find N6 will debut globally on March 17. However, global availability does not necessarily mean the device will launch in all regions. Some previous OPPO foldables were limited to select markets despite global announcements.

More details about pricing, specifications, and availability should become clear during the official launch event.

New research from Anthropic reveals how artificial intelligence is actually affecting jobs in the real world. The company analyzed usage data from its AI assistant Claude and found that while some professions are seeing increasing automation, many jobs remain largely untouched.

During the test, each job received a coverage score. A high score meant AI is already performing a measurable share of that role's tasks in practice, a low score meant the job is least likely to be replaced.

The Gap Between AI Capability and Actual Use In The Real World

According to the research, there is a large difference between what AI could theoretically automate and what companies are currently using it for. For example, AI systems could potentially handle up to 90% of tasks in administrative roles. However, real-world usage data shows that adoption remains far lower.

Even in technology-related fields (the sector most affected by AI so far), observed AI usage covers roughly one-third of job tasks. This suggests that large-scale job replacement has not yet occurred, despite rapid advances in AI tools.

Jobs That Already See AI Pressure

Computer programmers show 75% task coverage, the highest in the dataset. According to the research, Claude usage in coding is weighted toward full automation rather than productivity assistance.

Customer service representatives rank second. Core tasks in that role are increasingly appearing in first-party API traffic, which the researchers describe as companies routing work through AI pipelines rather than human agents.

Data-entry workers follow at 67% coverage. Financial analysts and office administrators also appear among high-exposure occupations, though real adoption in administrative roles still trails theoretical capability.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics data cited in the research shows that for every 10 percentage point increase in a job's AI coverage score, projected employment growth for that role drops by 0.6 percentage points through 2034.

30% of U.S. Workers Cannot Be Replaced by AI

Approximately 30% of U.S. workers score zero. Their tasks do not appear in AI usage data at any meaningful level.

The research identifies these as roles dependent on physical presence, sensory judgment, and real-time situational reading. Zero-exposure occupations listed in the study include cooks, motorcycle mechanics, lifeguards, bartenders, dishwashers, agricultural workers, and courtroom lawyers.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects steady growth for blue-collar roles through the decade. Healthcare is adding roughly 40,000 jobs per month, according to the research, with demand for nurses, therapists, and care workers running ahead of AI displacement in those fields.

AI Impact May Affect White-Collar Roles The Most

One surprising finding is that the workers most exposed to AI tend to be older, highly educated, and higher paid. Researchers found that employees in AI-exposed roles earn roughly 47% more than those in jobs with zero exposure.

This differs from previous automation waves, which often affected lower-wage jobs first. Instead, AI appears to be targeting tasks commonly found in office-based professions.

Hiring Trends May Already Be Shifting

Although the research found no major rise in unemployment, early signs of change are appearing in hiring patterns. Among workers aged 22 to 25, the rate of finding jobs in AI-exposed occupations has dropped by about 14% since the release of ChatGPT in late 2022.

Researchers say this could indicate that companies are slowing hiring in roles where AI tools can already assist with key tasks.

What The Findings Mean For People

The data suggests that AI is reshaping tasks rather than eliminating entire professions. Roles that depend on physical skills, human interaction, or real-world environments appear far more resilient.

At the same time, office-based professions that rely heavily on digital workflows may continue to face growing automation pressure as AI tools become more capable.

Anthropic describes the index as a first step and plans to update coverage measures as usage data changes.

Using Android Auto can make driving more convenient by bringing your favorite smartphone apps directly to your car’s dashboard. While most drivers stick to the basics like navigation and music, several unpopular apps add handy features for podcasts, offline navigation, smart home control, and even quick games while you’re parked.

Here are five Android Auto apps that stand out for improving the overall driving experience.

1. Pocket Casts for Podcast Listening

Pocket Casts is a podcast app designed with simplicity and podcasts first in mind. While many people listen to podcasts through Spotify, that app’s interface is primarily built around music.

Pocket Casts offers clear playback controls optimized for in-car use, easy switching between episodes, and quick access to your subscribed shows

For drivers who frequently listen to podcasts, Pocket Casts can be easier and safer to navigate than music-focused apps because of its primary podcast focus.

2. GameSnacks for In-Car Gaming While Parked

GameSnacks is a Google-developed collection of browser-based games that runs inside Android Auto. It includes match-three, 2048, jigsaw, endless runner, and chess formats. The games are ad-free.

GameSnacks is not consistently available through the Google Play Store and may come pre-installed on some Android devices. Users who cannot find it through the Play Store can sideload the APK directly. The app requires the vehicle to be parked to use.

Google has not published an explanation for the inconsistent Play Store availability of GameSnacks.

3. SmartLife for Smart Home Control While Driving

Google Home does not currently support Android Auto. SmartLife, which is built for the Tuya smart home platform, offers an Android Auto interface that lets users trigger pre-configured scenes directly from the car display.

The app is suited for users who want to confirm that connected devices such as lights or smart plugs are off after leaving home, without stopping to use the phone. SmartLife has limited Matter support, and some devices may not be compatible. Users with SmartThings or Home Assistant setups that already include Android Auto integration can use those instead. SmartLife is free on the Google Play Store.

4. Sygic For Navigation Without an Internet Connection

Google Maps includes limited offline map support, and Waze does not support offline maps at all. Sygic was built for offline use from the start. Users can download full regional maps to the device and use turn-by-turn navigation without an active internet connection.

This makes Sygic the practical option for driving in areas with inconsistent or no mobile coverage. The app is available on the Google Play Store as a free download, with paid features for additional functionality.

5. BlackPlayer for Local Music Libraries

Users who maintain a local music library rather than using a streaming service have limited options in Android Auto. BlackPlayer is a local music player with a minimal interface that integrates with Android Auto. It plays files stored on the device with no ads and no dependence on a network connection.

The app is available on the Google Play Store as a free download.

Pick the Right Apps to Enhance Your Driving Experience

Android Auto supports hundreds of apps, but only a small percentage of those provide features that truly enhance the driving experience. Apps like Pocket Casts, Sygic, and Smart Life can make daily drives more convenient, while tools like BlackPlayer and GameSnacks add entertainment when the car is parked.

If you’ve only been using navigation and streaming apps, trying a few of these additional Android Auto apps may help you get a lot more out of your car’s screen system.

Netflix has acquired InterPositive, an AI filmmaking startup secretly founded by Ben Affleck in 2022. The company had been operating quietly for years before finally emerging publicly through this acquisition.

The deal gives Netflix exclusive access to InterPositive’s technology, which focuses on improving film post-production workflows rather than generating videos from text prompts.

What InterPositive’s AI Actually Does

Unlike many generative AI tools in the film industry, InterPositive does not create scenes or actors from prompts.

Instead, the system analyzes a production’s real footage and helps filmmakers fix or enhance shots. The AI model was trained on a proprietary dataset filmed on a controlled soundstage designed to mimic real production environments.

According to Netflix and Affleck, the technology can assist with tasks such as:

Relighting scenes filmed under poor lighting conditions

Replacing backgrounds without breaking visual consistency

Removing visible stunt rigging or production equipment

Recovering missed shots using existing footage

The system focuses on understanding shot composition, lighting, and editing continuity, helping directors maintain a coherent visual style during post-production.

InterPositive Is Built to Support Filmmakers, Not Replace Them

Affleck emphasized that the technology is designed to assist filmmakers, not automate their creative work. In a statement accompanying the announcement, he explained that the goal was to preserve the human judgment involved in filmmaking.

“AI, people mostly think of it as making something from nothing. That’s not what this is,” Affleck said.

Instead of generating movies automatically, the tools aim to solve technical challenges that often require extensive manual work in editing and visual effects.

Netflix Gains Exclusive Production Technology

Netflix confirmed that the entire 16-person InterPositive team will join the company.

The tools will be made available to filmmakers working with Netflix but will not be sold commercially, giving the streaming platform exclusive access to the technology for its productions.

The acquisition also deepens Netflix’s relationship with Affleck and his production company Artists Equity, which already has projects on the platform.

Timing Of Acquisition Raises Industry Questions In Holywood

The acquisition arrives at a sensitive moment in Hollywood. Film and television unions are preparing for a new round of contract negotiations, and AI use in production remains one of the most controversial issues following the 2023 Hollywood strikes.

While InterPositive does not generate actors or scripts, its tools could potentially speed up tasks traditionally handled by visual-effects and post-production teams.

Whether the industry ultimately views the technology as a creative aid or a job-disrupting tool may become clearer as negotiations between studios and unions move forward.

OpenAI has introduced GPT-5.4, the latest update to its GPT-5 series of AI models. The new release brings improvements in reasoning, coding, and agentic workflows, and it also adds the ability for AI agents to operate computers to complete tasks.

The model is now available through ChatGPT, the API for developers, and the Codex environment.

GPT 5.4 Introduces AI That Can Use a Computer

One of the most significant additions in GPT-5.4 is its new computer-use capability. This allows the model to run AI agents inside a virtual computer environment, where they can perform actions such as:

Browsing the web

Filling out forms or placing online orders

Editing spreadsheets, documents, and presentations

Writing and executing code

Using mouse and keyboard commands to control software

This feature moves the model closer to acting as a digital assistant capable of completing real tasks, rather than simply generating text responses.

New GPT Improves in Reasoning and Coding

GPT-5.4 also integrates the coding capabilities introduced in GPT-5.3-Codex, while expanding the model’s ability to handle broader workflows.

OpenAI says the update improves performance in areas such as logical reasoning, software development tasks, and multi-step workflows involving external tools. The model also includes steerable behavior, allowing users to guide how the AI approaches tasks.

OpenAI Also Introduces GPT-5.4 Pro for Advanced Workloads

Alongside the standard model, OpenAI has released GPT-5.4 Pro, a more powerful version designed for demanding enterprise and professional workloads. Access to the models is divided as follows:

GPT-5.4 Thinking - available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro users

GPT-5.4 Pro - available to Pro and Enterprise users

The new model replaces the earlier GPT-5.2 Thinking version inside ChatGPT.

GPT 5.4 Improves Its Safety Systems and Benchmark Results

OpenAI has also introduced new safety measures for the model. GPT-5.4 is classified as having high cyber capability, which means it now includes stronger monitoring systems and tighter access controls to help prevent misuse.

The company has also unveiled a new evaluation method called “chain-of-thought controllability,” which is designed to detect whether models attempt to conceal their reasoning. In internal tests, GPT-5.4 achieved:

75% success rate on the OSWorld-Verified benchmark for desktop task navigation

81.2% score on the MMMU-Pro benchmark for visual reasoning

OpenAI Continuing Its Focus On AI Agents

With features like computer control and stronger reasoning, GPT-5.4 marks another step toward agent-style AI systems that can complete complex workflows with minimal human input.

OpenAI’s latest release underscores a broader industry shift toward AI tools capable of automating real-world tasks across productivity software and digital services.

Apple’s latest software update, iOS 26, introduces a new shortcut that makes adding events to Apple Calendar much easier. Users can now create calendar entries directly from screenshots using Apple Intelligence.

In iOS 26, Screenshots Open in a Full-Screen By Default

One of the key changes in iOS 26 is how screenshots behave.

Instead of appearing as a small floating thumbnail in the corner of the screen, screenshots now open in a full-screen interface by default. This change enables several new AI-powered tools to analyze what appears in the screenshot.

Users who prefer the previous thumbnail behavior can still switch back to it in Settings.

"Add to Calendar" From a Screenshot

When a screenshot contains details about an event (such as a date, time, or meeting information), iOS 26 can detect it automatically.

A new “Add to Calendar” button appears at the bottom of the screenshot interface. Tapping it converts the detected information into a calendar event.

The feature works by analyzing the screenshot with Apple Intelligence to extract key event details.

Users Can Review the Event Before Creating in the Calendar

After tapping the button, users see a preview of the event before saving it.

From there, they can:

Confirm the event and tap Create Event

Edit details like the title, time, or calendar

Choose which calendar account to save the event to

If changes are needed, the Edit option opens the standard event creation screen inside the Calendar app.

Events From Screenshots Is a Small but Useful Productivity Feature

While Apple Calendar did not receive major redesign changes in iOS 26, this new screenshot-based workflow gives it a practical advantage.

For many users, adding events from screenshots (such as invitations, social media posts, or event listings) could become one of the fastest ways to populate a calendar.

Even people who primarily use third-party calendar apps may still benefit from the feature by syncing their calendar accounts through iOS settings.

Microsoft is working on a new screenshot feature for Copilot that will let Windows 11 users quickly capture images and send them directly to the AI assistant.

The new tool is designed to make it easier to provide visual context when asking Copilot for help, which should lead to more accurate and useful responses.

A Built-In Screenshot Tool for Copilot Users on Windows 11

According to an entry on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the upcoming feature will give users a quick way to capture screenshots and attach them directly to Copilot prompts.

In practice, this means users can quickly share what’s on their screen (such as an error message, a document, or a webpage) so the AI can analyze the image and offer more relevant assistance.

Microsoft says the feature is meant to help users “communicate visual context more easily and receive more accurate, actionable assistance.”

Screenshot Feature is Designed to Improve Productivity

The screenshot tool is expected to become part of Microsoft’s broader effort to turn Copilot into a central productivity assistant across Windows and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

In recent months, Microsoft has rolled out several new Copilot features, including:

Copilot Tasks for automating workflows

Link previews inside the Copilot side panel

Outlook integration that can automatically reschedule meetings

The new screenshot capability could further streamline how users interact with Copilot, reducing the back-and-forth needed to explain what’s happening on screen.

A Different Approach Than Windows Recall

The feature may remind some users of Windows Recall, a controversial AI tool introduced for Copilot+ PCs that automatically captures snapshots of user activity.

Recall quickly raised privacy concerns because it continuously recorded screenshots of a user’s PC activity.

By contrast, the new Copilot screenshot tool is expected to work only when users manually capture an image, making it a much more privacy-friendly option.

A Screenshot Tool Coming First to Windows PCs

The Microsoft 365 roadmap suggests the feature will arrive first on desktop versions of Windows, with potential expansion to other Copilot integrations later on.

While Microsoft has not announced an exact release date yet, the tool underscores the company’s ongoing push to make Copilot a central part of everyday workflows on Windows devices.

WhatsApp may soon join the growing list of apps offering optional paid subscriptions. Reports suggest that Meta is working on a new premium tier called WhatsApp Plus, which could introduce extra customization features and messaging tools aimed at heavy users.

WhatsApp Plus Could Add More Customization

The upcoming subscription tier is expected to focus mainly on personalization and convenience. According to early reports, WhatsApp Plus may include:

Ability to pin up to 20 chats instead of the current limit of three

Access to exclusive stickers and ringtones

Expanded message reactions

Additional interface and chat customization options

These upgrades would be optional perks designed for people who rely on WhatsApp every day and want more control over how their chats look and behave.

WhatsApp Will Always Remain Free

Crucially, WhatsApp itself will remain free to use. The Plus subscription is expected to function as an optional upgrade, similar to premium tiers offered by many other online services like telegram.

Over the years, numerous apps that started out completely free have adopted subscription models to fund ongoing development, new features, and infrastructure costs. WhatsApp Plus appears to be Meta’s attempt to follow a similar path without taking away existing free functionality.

Meta’s Ongoing Monetization Efforts Of WhatsApp

Meta has long struggled to monetize WhatsApp compared to Facebook and Instagram.

Because WhatsApp is a private, end-to-end encrypted messaging app, traditional in-feed advertising is far less effective. That makes subscriptions and value-added services a more attractive way to generate revenue.

Meta already offers Meta Verified, a subscription that provides verification and business tools across its platforms. However, that program is mainly targeted at brands, creators, and businesses, not everyday WhatsApp users.

WhatsApp Plus, by contrast, would be one of Meta’s first attempts to sell consumer-focused premium features directly inside the messaging app.

Pricing of WhatsApp Plus Still Unknown

For now, Meta has not revealed how much WhatsApp Plus will cost or when it will officially launch.

More details about pricing, regional availability, and additional features are expected to surface as Meta gets closer to rollout. If executed well, the subscription could appeal to frequent users looking for more powerful tools, deeper personalization, and a richer messaging experience without changing the core free app.

Apple has officially introduced the MacBook Neo, a new entry-level laptop designed to make the Mac lineup more accessible. Starting at $599, it becomes Apple’s most affordable Mac notebook ever and is notably powered by the A18 Pro, marking the first time an iPhone chip runs a modern Mac laptop.

The Most Affordable Mac With iPhone Silicon

The MacBook Neo is built around the A18 Pro processor, the same chip previously used in recent iPhone models. Apple says the system delivers efficient performance while maintaining long battery life (up to 16 hours).

The laptop features a13-inch display with 2408×1506 resolution, up to 500 nits of brightness and support for over 1 billion colors.

MacBook Neo Storage and Price For Students

The base configuration starts at $599 and includes 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. A higher configuration priced at $699 doubles the storage to 512GB and adds Touch ID support.

Educational buyers can purchase the laptop starting at $499, making it especially appealing for students and schools.

The MacBook Neo keeps a simple hardware setup designed to keep costs down. Key features include two USB-C ports, no magSafe charging, headphone jack, stereo speakers and support for one external display.

The laptop ships with a 20W USB-C power adapter and a USB-C charging cable in the box.

New Mac Has Four Color Options

Apple is offering the MacBook Neo in four finishes Silver, Indigo, Blush and Citrus. The colorful design signals Apple’s attempt to position the device as a fun, entry-level option for students, first-time Mac buyers, and casual users.

Neo Positioned Below the MacBook Air

The MacBook Neo sits below the MacBook Air in Apple’s lineup. The latest MacBook Air, powered by the Apple M5 chip, starts at $1,099.

While the Air offers more RAM, faster performance, and additional features, the Neo focuses on affordability, simplicity, and portability. It’s aimed at users who mainly browse the web, stream media, work in productivity apps, and want an inexpensive way into the macOS ecosystem.

Availability of the MacBook Neo

The MacBook Neo is available for pre-order starting today and will begin shipping on March 11.

With its lower price and iPhone-based chip, the MacBook Neo represents a new direction for Apple’s Mac lineup, aiming to bring macOS to a wider and more budget-conscious audience.

Google is rolling out a redesigned Google Maps icon, replacing the long-standing flat color design with a more modern gradient look inspired by Gemini.

The update is arriving on both Android and iOS, marking the first major visual change to the Maps icon in many years.

A More Modern Look for the Google Map Pin

The redesigned icon keeps the familiar map pin shape but introduces several noticeable tweaks.

The top ring of the pin is thinner, while the inner circle is larger, giving the icon a cleaner, more refined silhouette. The biggest change, however, is the color treatment.

Instead of the previous four flat color segments, Google now uses a smooth gradient blend of its signature colors, creating a more modern, vibrant appearance that feels in line with its newer app icons and roadmap.

New Icon Aligning Maps With Google’s AI Ecosystem

The new icon reflects Google’s broader push to weave Gemini AI into its products and services.

Over the past year, Maps has gained several AI-powered features, including:

Conversational navigation that offers more natural, back-and-forth guidance instead of rigid voice prompts

AI-generated business summaries that quickly describe locations, highlights, and reviews

Enhanced visual search via Lens, making it easier to identify places and objects using the camera

By adopting a gradient style similar to other Gemini-influenced Google apps, the company is visually signaling that Maps is now part of its growing AI ecosystem.

Availability of NotebookLM’s New Video and Search Features

The new icon is being delivered via a server-side update, so there’s nothing special users need to do beyond keeping the app up to date.

You may see the redesigned icon after updating to:

Google Maps 26.09.06 or newer on Android

Google Maps 26.09.5 or newer on iOS

The rollout is gradual, so it may take several days before the updated icon appears on all devices.

As Google continues to push AI deeper into its apps, the refreshed Maps icon is a clear visual cue that its navigation service is becoming a core part of the company’s broader Gemini AI strategy.

The system can even refine its own output to maintain a consistent look and feel across the entire video.

Cinematic Video Overviews are currently available in English and limited to Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 or older on both web and mobile.

NotebookLM's New Search and Pinning Tools

In addition to the AI video feature, Google appears to be developing new tools aimed at improving NotebookLM’s organization.

It is a common frustration, when users has too many pages, it's simply hard to navigate between them. A new search button should solve this issue and has been spotted on the NotebookLM home screen, which could allow users to quickly locate specific notebooks by typing part of the title instead of scrolling through long lists.

Another upcoming feature would let users pin important notebooks to the top of the interface, making them easier to access - similar to pinned chats in messaging apps.

These changes are designed to save time for users who work with dozens or even hundreds of notebooks.

Availability of NotebookLM’s New Video and Search Features

NotebookLM has quickly gained traction as an AI-powered research assistant, helping users summarize information, organize sources, and extract insights from documents, because of its unique feature (generate output only out of the uploaded files).

The search and pinning features are still in development, and it’s not yet clear when they will be available to all users. The Cinematic Video Overviews upgrade, however, is already rolling out to active Google AI Ultra subscribers.

Google has released a new Android feature bundle alongside the latest Google Pixel Feature Drop, bringing several updates across the Android ecosystem. The changes include new games for Android Auto, live location sharing in Messages, and improved app discovery in the Google Play Store.

Kids Games Arrive on Android Auto

One of the more unusual additions is a set of games designed specifically for children using Android Auto.

The games appear on the car’s infotainment display while the vehicle is parked, allowing kids to play directly on the dashboard screen. Google says the titles are “Teacher Approved” and aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 12.

Available games include:

Disney Coloring World

LetraKid: Writing ABC for Kids

Marvel HQ: Kids Super Hero Fun

Draw a Stickman: EPIC 3

Kids Games: For Toddlers 3–5

The feature effectively turns parked vehicles into temporary entertainment hubs for younger passengers.

Live Location Sharing Comes to Google Messages

Android users can now share their live location directly inside Google Messages.

The feature integrates with Google’s Find Hub map interface and allows users to send real-time location updates within conversations. Location sharing can continue indefinitely until it is manually stopped.

Google Improves Item Tracker Sharing With Airlines

Google is also improving item tracker integration for travel.

If a bag with a compatible tracker is lost during a flight, users can generate a secure location-sharing link and send it directly to the airline to help locate the luggage.

This removes the need to manually describe a tracker’s location to airline staff.

Google Play Store Adds Short-Form App Videos for Discovery

The Google Play Store is introducing a new app discovery tool based on short-form video content.

Users will be able to scroll through a feed of short videos demonstrating apps across categories such as Photography, Shopping, Wellness, and Webtoons.

The idea is to help users quickly understand how apps work before downloading them.

Create Personalized Calling Cards on Android

Previously, contacts could design cards for you. Now, users can create their own personalized Calling Card, which automatically appears on devices belonging to people who have it saved as a contact.

All the New Features in the March 2026 Android Update

These features are rolling out as part of the March 2026 Android feature bundle and accompany the latest Pixel Feature Drop.

Google continues to use these periodic bundles to introduce ecosystem-wide improvements outside of major Android version updates, bringing smaller but practical features to Android devices throughout the year.

Security researchers say a powerful iPhone hacking framework once tied to surveillance operations is now being used in criminal campaigns to steal cryptocurrency and sensitive data from users.

The exploit kit, known as Coruna, reportedly contains multiple exploit chains capable of compromising vulnerable iPhones through malicious websites.

Hackers Target WebKit and Older iOS Versions

According to analysis from Google Threat Intelligence Group and mobile security company iVerify, the framework includes:

Five full exploit chains

23 known iOS vulnerabilities

Techniques that bypass several Apple security protections

The attacks target WebKit, the browser engine used by all iOS browsers. That means simply visiting a malicious web page could compromise devices running older iOS builds.

Once triggered, the exploit chain escalates privileges from the browser to kernel-level access, allowing attackers to install malware with root permissions.

From Surveillance Tool to Criminal Weapon

Researchers first detected fragments of the framework in early 2025 during a surveillance operation reportedly linked to a customer of a spyware vendor.

Later that year, the exploit appeared again in a suspected Russian intelligence campaign targeting Ukrainian websites. The malicious code was hidden inside a visitor-counting widget that silently infected selected iPhone users.

More recently, the framework has been reused in criminal operations targeting Chinese-language cryptocurrency and gambling sites.

40,000+ Devices Potentially Infected By "Coruna."

Security firm iVerify estimates that a single crypto-focused campaign infected roughly 42,000 devices, based on connections to command-and-control servers used by the attackers.

Once a device is compromised, hackers can search for cryptocurrency wallets, steal exchange login credentials, extract photos and email data.

Researchers say the underlying exploit framework is highly sophisticated, while the criminal malware added on top appears much simpler, suggesting different groups are reusing the same exploit platform.

Possible Links to Earlier Spyware Campaigns

The code used in Coruna reportedly overlaps with components from Operation Triangulation, a major iPhone espionage campaign discovered in 2023.

Some researchers believe the framework may have originally been developed for government or intelligence use before leaking into the wider exploit marketplace.

Experts compare the situation to the leak of EternalBlue, which later powered large-scale cyberattacks such as WannaCry.

How Government-Grade iPhone Exploits End Up in Criminal Hands

Researchers say the incident highlights a growing “second-hand” market for zero-day exploit frameworks.

Tools originally created for intelligence agencies or law enforcement may eventually be resold through exploit brokers, sometimes ending up in the hands of rival governments or cybercriminal groups.

While Apple has patched the known vulnerabilities used by Coruna in current iOS versions, security experts warn that the techniques behind the framework could continue to evolve.

Users running older versions of iOS remain the most vulnerable. To avoid vulnerabilities, users must keep devices fully updated with the latest security patches.

Google has announced a major change to how it updates Google Chrome. Starting in September 2026, the browser will move to a two-week release cycle, significantly increasing how often new versions are delivered.

The change continues Google’s push toward faster updates and a more continuous rollout of features and security fixes.

Google Chrome Updates Will Arrive Every 14 Days

The new schedule begins with Chrome 153, which is expected to launch on September 8, 2026.

Once the transition happens, new Chrome milestone releases will arrive every two weeks instead of the current four-week cadence introduced in 2021. The change applies across all major platforms, including desktop, Android, and iOS.

Google says the faster release cycle will allow improvements and security fixes to reach users much sooner.

Why Google Is Speeding Up Chrome Updates?

According to Google, the move is designed to improve the browser as the web evolves more rapidly.

Security threats, browser features, and AI capabilities are changing quickly, and shorter release cycles make it easier to ship updates without waiting weeks for the next major version.

Google also notes that more frequent releases will likely contain smaller, more focused changes, which should reduce disruption and make debugging easier when issues occur.

Enterprise Google Chrome Updates Still Remain Slower

Organizations that need more time to test updates will still have the Extended Stable option.

This enterprise-focused channel will continue operating on its existing eight-week cycle, giving IT administrators additional time to manage deployments.

Meanwhile, Chrome’s Dev and Canary channels will remain unchanged. Chromebooks will still receive additional platform testing before updates are released

From Six to Four, and Now to a 2-Week Chrome Release Cycle

Chrome originally followed a six-week release cycle, which Google shortened to four weeks in 2021. Moving to a two-week cadence marks the fastest update schedule the browser has used so far.

This shift reflects Google’s long-term goal of keeping Chrome an “evergreen” browser, where improvements, fixes, and new upgrades are delivered continuously rather than bundled into large, infrequent milestone updates.
