Missed the reveal? Bandai Hobby has released a promotional video showcasing the first GunPla kits inspired by the new RG Project, giving fans another look at HG 1/144 Gundam Zero and HG 1/144 Gundam Helix ahead of their 2027 debut.

The video highlights both mobile suits with close-up shots of their details, articulation, and action poses, offering an early preview of what fans can expect from the upcoming lineup. Bandai also revealed that the HG 1/144 Gundam Helix will be available in two versions, including the standard release and an Earth Blue Ver.

The RG Project is Bandai Namco Filmworks' new multimedia Gundam initiative built around a shared universe. It begins with the upcoming anime Mobile Suit Gundam RG: XARX-ZERO and continues in the game Gundam Rogue Orbit, with each title telling its own story while sharing the same timeline and history. Alongside the anime and game, Bandai Hobby is bringing the new mobile suits to the HG GunPla lineup, beginning with Gundam Zero and Gundam Helix.

HG 1/144 Gundam Zero, HG 1/144 Gundam Helix, and HG 1/144 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue Ver.) are all scheduled for release in 2027 alongside Mobile Suit Gundam RG: XARX-ZERO and Gundam Rogue Orbit, with more details to be revealed at a later date.

The RG 1/144 nu Gundam equipped with the Heavy Weapon System (HWS) returns with a reissue this October. Based on the original RG ν Gundam, this version adds a full set of heavy armor and powerful weapons while keeping the detailed design and articulation of the Real Grade series.

The HWS equipment includes newly molded chest, waist, and leg armor with detailed panel lines and internal mechanical details. The chest armor features built-in shoulder missile launchers with opening hatches, allowing the missile pods to be displayed.

Also included is the newly molded Hyper Mega Rifle with an extendable barrel that can be displayed in standard or long-range firing mode. The front bipod can also be deployed for added display options.

The High Mega Shield attaches to the standard shield and features opening armor panels along with extendable twin mega particle cannons. A special support part is included to help hold the large shield securely.

The leg armor and side thruster units are also newly molded, with color-separated parts to recreate the yellow and gray details of the HWS.

To complete the package, the kit includes a newly designed set of realistic decals and a full loadout consisting of the Hyper Mega Rifle, High Mega Shield, New Hyper Bazooka, Fin Funnels, Beam Rifle, and Beam Saber.

Bandai Spirits is bringing another fan favorite from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY into the Real Grade lineup with the announcement of the RG 1/144 Gundam Astray Blue Frame. Piloted by the legendary mercenary Gai Murakumo, the Blue Frame arrives with all-new parts, updated markings, and the signature weapon that made this mobile suit one of the most recognizable Astrays.

Built around the Real Grade line's highly detailed 1/144 engineering, the kit recreates the Gundam Astray Blue Frame with refined armor details, an impressive range of articulation, and color separation that stays true to its original design.

Leading the new additions is the Blue Frame's iconic M68 Cattus 500mm recoilless rifle. The massive weapon has been completely redesigned with new molding for the Real Grade series and measures approximately 110mm in length. It features a removable magazine, a movable foregrip for dynamic action poses, and a folding mounting joint that allows it to be stored directly on the waist when not in use.

The release also includes a newly designed set of realistic decals featuring the Blue Frame's distinctive serpent tail markings, while foil stickers add extra mechanical detail throughout the kit.

Fans will also find a newly sculpted 1/144-scale figure of Gai Murakumo, along with a full selection of interchangeable hand parts and weapons to recreate scenes from the manga. From the manga Gundam SEED Astray and the graphic novel Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray B, the Gundam Astray Gold Frame piloted by Rondo Gina Sahaku finally joins the Real Grade lineup.

As one of the earliest Astray variants, the Gold Frame receives a faithful Real Grade adaptation with newly molded parts for its massive 350mm "Gáe Bulg" rail bazooka, a weapon originally developed for the Duel Gundam. While the Gold Frame was able to wield the powerful weapon, its right arm could not withstand the tremendous output and short-circuited immediately after firing. Bandai Spirits even recreates this memorable scene by including a damaged right arm as part of the kit, a small but impressive detail that fans of the series will appreciate.

The Gold Frame's story begins on January 25, C.E. 71, during ZAFT's assault on the Orb colony Heliopolis. As the Alliance's prototype Gundams were being stolen, the Astray Project was thrown into chaos. To keep their work from falling into enemy hands, Orb officials ordered the destruction of the Astray development facility.

The ZGMF-56E2/γ Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II, featured in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom and piloted by Lunamaria Hawke, is an upgraded version of the ZGMF-X56S/γ Blast Impulse Gundam. Modified by Erica Simmons at Cagalli Yula Athha's request, it has improved battery capacity and altered Variable Phase Shift Armor, with most white parts changed to light olive green and darker blue and green colors. Premium Bandai has officially unveiled the RG 1/144 Sword Impulse Gundam SPEC II, as seen in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom! This release utilizes the same molds as the RG 1/144 Force Impulse Gundam SPEC II, now featuring a bold red color scheme.

The Sword Impulse Gundam SPEC II is an enhanced version of the ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse Gundam, secretly modified by Erica Simmons at the request of Cagalli Yula Athha. The upgrade includes a significant boost in battery capacity, and the Variable Phase Shift Armor has undergone major changes, swapping much of the original white with red, including on the v-fin. Additionally, the chest and shoulders now sport a black color scheme. Despite these changes, the Sword Impulse SPEC II retains all of the original's combat capabilities.

This upgraded model was one of three mobile suits modified by Erica Simmons at a covert Orb Union asteroid base to reinforce Compass' forces in case of an emergency. This foresight proved valuable when the crew of the LHM-BB03S Millennium needed new mobile suits after suffering losses during the Eldore incident. The suits were crucial for their plan to rescue Lacus Clyne from the Kingdom of Foundation, who had concealed her within the space fortress Artemis.

Piloted by Lunamaria Hawke, the Sword Impulse SPEC II was deployed to protect the Millennium as it cleared a path toward the Requiem superweapon. After using up the weapons on the Blast Impulse SPEC II, Lunamaria switched to the Sword Silhouette to continue the fight. During a fierce duel with Agnes Giebenrath's GYAN Strom, which had defected to the Foundation, the Sword Impulse lost all its close combat weapons when Lunamaria hurled them at the enemy suit. With its power drained, the Sword Impulse transitioned to the Force Silhouette, recharging via the Destiny's Deuterion Beam Energy Transfer System, allowing the battle to continue.

The Gundam Card Game is heading back to one of the most beloved Universal Century stories with the reveal of Blazing Fist [GD07], the next booster set scheduled to launch on January 29, 2027.

The first details confirm that Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team will be joining the game, bringing the fan favorite series and its memorable mobile suits into the latest expansion. Created by the same team behind the acclaimed METAL BUILD Gundam SEED lineup and supervised by Gundam SEED chief mechanical animation director Satoshi Shigeta, the massive support unit has been recreated with an all-new design packed with mechanical detail and interactive features.

Once connected to a compatible mobile suit, the METEOR stretches to approximately 860mm in length. Attach the included beam sword effect parts and the total length exceeds an astonishing 1,200mm, making it one of the largest entries in the METAL BUILD series.

The enormous support unit is loaded with gimmicks throughout its frame. Collectors can deploy the beam cannons into firing mode, rotate the engine section, and open multiple maintenance hatches to reveal intricate mechanical details. Bandai has also added an original feature that allows the METEOR to be equipped not only by the Freedom Gundam and Justice Gundam, but also the AILE STRIKE GUNDAM and Force Impulse Gundam, giving fans even more display possibilities.

The newly announced series is directly connected to the upcoming video game Gundam Rogue Orbit, with the game taking place 100 years after the events of the anime. Together, they introduce a brand new timeline called A.A. (After Apocalypse).

Revealed during San Diego Comic-Con 2026, the first trailer introduced the mysterious Gundam ZERO, its young pilot Ray Azumi, and a future where humanity fights to survive after an alien intelligence transforms civilization forever.

By A.A. 45, an entire generation has grown up without ever knowing what life on Earth was like before the Apocalypse.

It is during this era that Ray Azumi, the protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO, begins his story on the Moon.

After years of waiting, the live action Gundam movie starring Sydney Sweeney has reached a major milestone.

Production on the film began in April 2026 under the working title Teardrop, with filming taking place at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast as well as locations across Brisbane and Toowoomba in Queensland, Australia. After roughly three months of filming, production has officially wrapped and the movie has now entered post-production. While Netflix has yet to announce a release date, the project is now one step closer to reaching fans.

The film stars Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo as rival mobile suit pilots caught in the middle of a decades-long war between Earth and its former space colonies. Inspired by Romeo and Juliet, the story follows the pair as shifting alliances and an escalating threat force them into a race across the stars that could determine the fate of humanity.

Director and writer Jim Mickle, known for Sweet Tooth, described the movie as "a big story" about war and conflict, but one that remains deeply human at its core. He also revealed that the film will feature some of Gundam's most recognizable mobile suits and ships while introducing brand new designs created specifically for the movie.

The cast also includes Shioli Kutsuna, Jackson White, Jason Isaacs, Nonso Anozie, Michael Mando, Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Javon Walton, Ida Brooke, and Gemma Chua-Tran.

The project is being co-developed by Legendary and Bandai Namco Filmworks, the studio behind the original Gundam anime, with Netflix serving as the exclusive distributor. Jim Mickle is also producing alongside Linda Moran, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Ali Mendes, and Naohiro Ogata.

The movie has gone through several changes since it was first announced. Saga creator Brian K. Vaughan originally wrote the screenplay, while Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts was attached to direct. In 2024, the project was reworked with Jim Mickle taking over both writing and directing duties, giving the adaptation a fresh creative direction.

The upcoming release marks the first big-budget live action Gundam movie since the franchise began with Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979. Premium Bandai has officially announced the long-awaited Master Grade 1/100 Stark Jegan, bringing the heavily armed variant from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn into the MG lineup. Based on the mold of the RGM-89D Jegan Type D, this release recreates the RGM-89S Stark Jegan with a full set of newly molded armor and weapon equipment unique to the anti-ship assault configuration.

The kit features extensive new parts to accurately depict the Stark Jegan’s upgraded combat loadout. Its head unit includes newly molded armor to match the Stark specification, while the additional armor across the chest, arms, waist, and legs has been completely redesigned for this variant. The result is a bulkier and more battle-ready silhouette that reflects its role as a special forces mobile suit.

Mounted on the shoulders are the iconic Triple Missile Pods, inspired by the concept seen on the RGM-86R GM III but recreated with new molds specifically for this kit. Both arms are outfitted with weapon racks featuring opening and closing hatch gimmicks, each storing the Stark Jegan’s dedicated armaments. These include a pair of beam sabers and a grenade launcher, allowing the unit to quickly deploy its weapons during combat.

As an added bonus for display fans, the kit is also compatible with the separately sold RE/100 Type 89 Base Jabber ver. UC, making it possible to recreate dynamic airborne support scenes from the Universal Century battlefield.

Originally introduced in the Char’s Counterattack Mobile Suit Variations, the RGM-89S Stark Jegan was later redesigned for Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Developed as a special forces version of the Jegan D Type, the Stark Jegan was built for anti-ship assault missions, featuring enhanced armor, additional thrusters, and optional shoulder-mounted missile pods. Some of its external armor and weapon systems can even be purged during combat, with the mobile suit automatically adjusting its balance afterward.

Thanks to its improved performance, the Stark Jegan was often assigned to platoon leaders and special operations units, where its heavy armament and high mobility made it ideal for difficult missions on the front lines.

The Initial Deployment Type is the early production version of the Jegan D Type used during U.C. 0094. While it offered the same performance as the standard model, its striking red and white two-tone color scheme made it far more noticeable on the battlefield, earning mixed reactions from pilots who preferred a less conspicuous mobile suit.

The kit also includes a new sheet of water slide decals featuring Nahel Argama, Londo Bell, EFSF, and caution markings to complete its early deployment look. The ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited is best known through its use by ZAFT ace pilots Heine Westenfluss and Yzak Jule. The name GOUF stands for Guardian Of Unity Forerunner. Originally considered as ZAFT’s next-generation mass production mobile suit, the GOUF Ignited ultimately lost to the ZAKU series. However, its high performance ensured continued development, leading to full production when Earth-based combat intensified and ZAKU production reached its limits.

The production-type ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited was primarily assigned to commanders and elite pilots and is largely identical to the prototype ZGMF-X2000 version, differing mainly in its color scheme.

Initially created as a commander machine, the Z'Gok Commander Type was quickly mass-produced to replace the normal Z'Gok. Other notable mobile suits produced by the Principality of Zeon based on the Z'Gok include the MSM-07E Z'Gok-E, an improved performance model, and the MS-13 Gasshia, which prioritized ground assault capabilities above amphibious qualities.

Even after the One Year War, Zeon remnants used several Z'Goks in a dark green color scheme to attack Torrington Base in U.C. 0096. One of these units was significantly damaged by an RX-160S Byarlant Custom.

The kit reuses the molds from the 2008 retail MG 1/100 Zaku Cannon, now updated with a moss and mud-inspired color scheme to match its appearance during the assault on Torrington Base in the OVA.

The MS-06K Zaku Cannon is a variant of the MS-06 Zaku II originally developed by the Principality of Zeon. First introduced in the Mobile Suit Variation design series, its design was later refined for the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novel and OVA.

It traces its origins to the MS-06J-12 Project, which aimed to create an anti-aircraft mobile suit. However, after the deployment of the Earth Federation Forces’ RX-77-2 Guncannon, the project shifted toward a mid-range fire support role. Based on the MS-06J Zaku II Ground Type, the Zaku Cannon is equipped with a powerful 180mm cannon mounted on its backpack. Its K-type backpack can also be swapped with that of a standard Zaku II Ground Type when needed.

To support its role, the unit features a 360-degree mono-eye camera for improved visibility and targeting, along with enhanced leg thrusters to offset its increased weight and manage recoil from the cannon. Additional vents on the chest and legs help regulate heat during sustained combat.
