I was really scared."

Elizabeth revealed that her audition required her to do the big scene where the main character, Jim, does a striptease dance to a Barenaked Ladies song on a video call, but with the roles reversed. "In the audition, it was the opposite of what you saw in the movie," she said. "I had to dance for Jason instead of him dancing for me."

Even though the scene in the film ultimately put the onus on Jason Biggs, the movie’s star, to do the striptease, the audition marked the beginning of a challenging role for Elizabeth, despite the fact that it was her big breakout part.

"I’m not somebody [who’s] super comfortable in my own skin, to be honest," she told the outlet. "But, you just overcome that. When you have to turn it on, you have to work, because I do love working. I do love acting. So you just let everything else go."

She went on to have roles in many iconic comedies, including Thirteen Ghosts, Love Actually, and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back. But aside from her role in the first two and fourth American Pie films, most people probably know her from her part as Buffy Gilmore in the 2000 comedy classic Scary Movie. At this point, her death scene in that film is iconic, and heavily quoted to boot.

Elizabeth has since pivoted from acting to conservation work and no longer performs full time — but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t return for another walk in the American Pie universe. "I would love to see a film where it’s all about Nadia back in her home country and what she does there, and following her around, seeing her day-to-day life now," the former actress said of her hopes for another film. "I think that would be so much fun."

The last American Pie film, American Reunion, came out in 2012, so it wouldn’t be too surprising if Universal decides to pursue a legacy sequel at some point in the near future. That said, we haven’t heard anything concrete about another installment, so Elizabeth might just have to keep waiting.

Lex Briscuso is a film and television critic and a freelance entertainment writer for IGN. And I assume those dates will keep changing as to what I find palatable about my own work."

Asked to rank the eight Harry Potter movies, Radcliffe picked the series' final installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, as his favorite, with Goblet of Fire in second place. Half-Blood Prince was ranked bottom, though Radcliffe said this was for his own "stuff" and not for the film itself.

Separately, Radcliffe has also spoken warmly of the new actor set to take on the title role in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series. Radcliffe wrote to 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin last year to wish him luck for the start of the show's mammoth production, which is set to continue for much of the next decade.

"I just see those pictures of him and all the other kids and I just want to hug them," Radcliffe said at the time. "They just seem so young. Needless to say, fans aren’t happy, but creator R. Scot Gemmill and star Noah Wyle are speaking out and addressing her upcoming departure.

“It’s an inevitability that’s going to happen every season with this show because as writers we’re hard pressed to figure out what a lapse of time we can have and keep most of the ensemble together realistically,” Wyle explained to Variety while attending PaleyFest’s The Pitt screening and panel in Los Angeles on April 12.

“Emergency rooms have a high revolving door,” the actor, who previously starred on another hit medical drama ER, noted. “As always, we try to bring in new characters or promote from within as we go through these cast changes and try to keep the storylines fresh, but obviously Supriya has been a huge part of our show since the beginning.”

He added: “Dr. Mohan is a beloved character, and I love playing with her and working with Supriya, and we wish her all the best in her next endeavors, and we’re going to miss her.”

Noah Wyle explains Supriya Ganesh exit from "The Pitt" after Season 2.
MORE: https://t.co/BEx1m7JD50@variety #justforvariety #thepitt pic.twitter.com/IRgHwPvDqy
— Marc Malkin (@marcmalkin) April 13, 2026

For Gemmill, he thinks Ganesh’s exit is, ultimately, true to the experience of working in high-stakes healthcare. “It’s sort of the nature of the show. Unfortunately, the way the medical profession works, you come in, you learn, you move on, and we want to try and be as truthful to that process as possible,” he said. “So we’re going to turn over our cast. But I think it’s a great launching pad for people and that’s the best we can do.”

That said, fans are a bit suspicious of the actress’s departure. It was originally announced by Variety on April 2, and the outlet cited a source who claimed her split from the series was a “story-driven decision.”

But she was originally scheduled to attend PaleyFest and ended up dropping out at the last minute on Saturday. “Hi everyone, not sure why it’s not removed off the site but I will not be at PaleyFest this Sunday,” Ganesh told fans via a post to her social media channels. “I know some of you bought tickets to see me and I hope you know this is not a decision I take lightly. Love you all.”

Her unexpected cancellation for PaleyFest seems to have made the situation feel a bit suspicious for fans, but there’s no denying that Ganesh’s character has been spending a lot of this second season weighing her options for her life after residency. So it’s not that weird that her character might decide to pursue opportunities outside of the Pittsburgh area where the show takes place. After all, teaching hospitals are definitely revolving door environments by design, so it’s entirely possible the decision to write Dr. Mohan off of the show was a mutual one.

The Season 2 finale of The Pitt is set to air on HBO Max on Thursday, April 16.

Lex Briscuso is a film and television critic and a freelance entertainment writer for IGN. You can watch the moment for yourself below.

At the time, viewers described Firestar73's subsequent game loss as "embarrassing," while his opponent reportedly acknowledged that the player should have kept the win. Now, Firestar73 has issued a formal statement on the matter, and said he's begun the process of having the decision overturned, all while maintaining he bears no "ill will" to the judges involved.

After a long loser's bracket run, @Firestar73_ wins a decisive game 5 to win the Orlando Regional Championship. Allegedly this celebration was unsportsmanlike, resulting in a game loss and giving NTC The win. I'm at a loss for words, I feel so bad for firestar. pic.twitter.com/72l1RJO31v
— AXN (@ItsAXN) April 5, 2026

"By now you have all seen the video of my reaction after winning the 2026 Orlando regional," Firestar73 wrote in a lengthy statement. "You can all form your own conclusions about whether my reaction was unsportsmanlike or whether a one-game loss that flipped the result was too harsh. Nearly all of you, if not actually all of you, have said you disagree with the decision. I am extremely thankful for the public support you've all expressed."

Firestar73 has asked The Pokémon Company to reverse the decision for two main reasons. Firstly, that his celebration was equivalent to various other examples of extremely similar reactions that can be viewed online, reactions The Pokémon Company itself has apparently told competitive players they welcome as demonstrations of the "emotion and celebration" that playing Pokémon video games provokes.

Secondly, Firestar73 argued, even if the celebration did fall foul of "unsportsmanlike" behavior rules, that under the Pokémon Go Tournament Handbook (Section 7.1), a game loss is only applied "when a mistake severely impacts the integrity of the game state." Here, Firestar73 argued that the game had already concluded, therefore his celebration cannot be worthy of disqualification. He went on to note other clauses on "minor unsporting misconduct," which typically result in simple warnings.

"I do not hold ill will towards anyone who was involved in this decision, especially the two judges you saw on stream," Firestar73 concluded. "They did not make the decision to hand down the one-game loss. That decision was made by someone much higher up on the Tournament Organizer's staff. As I explain below, I think that person made a good-faith mistake. But then Cryo Archive doubled down on the ultra hardcore experience, with several requirements you need to meet in order to access it.

Former professional Counter-Strike player, Shroud, has said that while Cryo Archive offers an incredible experience, it's too difficult for casual players. Speaking in a recent stream, the influential gamer said: "Cryo Archive is insane. It's the most elaborate extraction shooter map I've ever seen in a game ever. Naughty Dog had to make a choice between The Last of Us Online and single-player adventure Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Agarwal said. The decision, as we know, was to go with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

“And so one of the casualties of that was this game I was directing,” he said. “Basically, at one point, a decision had to be made. ‘Okay, make this game or make the next game that Neil Druckmann was directing, the president of the company.’ And so, kind of naturally, you can understand what happened there. They had to pick the game that was kind of the soul, bread and butter of the studio, rather than this experimental game that I was working on that I believe was going to be really big, but unfortunately couldn't see the light of day.”

Now, Laura Fryer, who has extensive experience working for video game publishers under her belt, has suggested that the real mistake was Sony and Naughty Dog greenlighting The Last of Us Online in the first place.

Fryer, a founding member of Xbox and one of Microsoft Game Studios’ first employees, released a new video in which she expressed sympathy with the team at Naughty Dog who had to see their project canceled, but criticized the lack of planning.

“A lot of people are saying they should have just finished the game and shipped it because it was so close, and I understand how frustrating it must be for the players who were looking forward to this game,” Fryer, who also spent four years as general manager of WB Games Seattle, where she oversaw game development for Warner Bros.’ internal studios in the Seattle area, including Monolith, creator of the Gotham City Impostors and Guardians of Middle Earth, said.

“But I think that's missing the bigger picture because the truth is that this is a classic example of the sunk cost fallacy. And I've seen it play out many times before where you have a studio that's already spent many years and millions of dollars and they feel like they have to ship the game anyway, that they have no choice, even when they know the long-term live service support will be brutal. Then the game comes out halfbaked, the team burns out on endless updates, and it usually ends badly.

“Naughty Dog didn't do that. They made the harder choice. They looked at the road ahead and they realized that they should stop instead of risking turning the entire studio into a live service operation that was only going to be able to support one big title for years. In my opinion, that was the right call, even though it hurt the team that worked so hard on it. They chose to go back to what the bread and butter of their studio was, single-player narrative games.”

Fryer’s criticism was aimed at leadership who not only allowed Naughty Dog to develop a The Last of Us live service game, but to continue to do so for seven years.

“I keep coming back to the bigger question of why did they start this game in the first place,” Fryer said. “Where was the planning? Live service games are not a mystery. There's plenty of data out there that they could have looked at to understand what it would take to do this type of game. You've got new maps. You've got new modes, weapons, seasons, balance patches. It's an infinite treadmill. Any studio leader could have run the numbers on what a team Naughty Dog size could realistically support. They could have seen pretty clearly that a team the size of Naughty Dog could never support a live service game and all of their amazing cinematic single player games. It wasn't possible.

“But instead of doing that analysis, they went ahead and let the game go forward. They let it run for seven years. Eventually, Bungie was brought in to do an analysis in 2023, and their reality check on player retention and what it really takes is what finally convinced people that it might be a problem.”

That’s a reference to comments from former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida, who, speaking to Sacred Symbols+ last year, said feedback from Sony-owned developer Bungie helped to convince Naughty Dog to scrap The Last of Us multiplayer.

“The idea for The Last of Us Online came from Naughty Dog and they really wanted to make it,” Yoshida said. “But Bungie explained [to them] what it takes to make live service games, and Naughty Dog realised, ‘Oops, we can’t do that! If we do it, we can’t make Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.’ So that was a lack of foresight.”

“The ambition was there, but the realistic upfront planning wasn't,” Fryer continued. “Naughty Dog ultimately protected what they do best: good cinematic single-player games. That's good leadership, even when it hurts. And sometimes the bravest thing a studio can do is to admit that something isn't going to work before it drags the whole company down with it.

“So when people get mad about the cancellation, I think we're focusing on the wrong thing. The pain for the team is real and I feel for them. That is a lot of time to put into a game to ultimately not have it ship. But pulling the plug, that was not the real mistake. Apparently, they’re still trying to get it out this year, but they are worried about the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. And so if it’s getting delayed beyond the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, that could push it into December, which might make it a prime candidate to get delayed into 2027. So while Xbox will have a lot of games coming out this year, that’s one that there’s still a big question mark around.”

However, the official Fable X / Twitter account this morning responded to a fan to say “we're excited to welcome you to Albion in Autumn 2026!” That reiteration of the release window is telling here, and a thinly veiled response to the weekend’s reports.

Still, it’s easy to imagine Microsoft fussing over release dates this year, as I imagine most AAA video game publishers are doing, in the face of GTA 6. And Microsoft has many release dates still to solidify. While we know Playground’s other game, Forza Horizon 6, launches May 19, it has yet to announce a release date for Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, which is still down for a 2026 launch, the next Call of Duty, rumored to be Modern Warfare 4, and the aforementioned Fable.

Fans will undoubtedly get a clearer idea of Microsoft’s release plans from its Xbox Games Showcase on June 7. Microsoft has already said Gears of War: E-Day will be there, and we suspect Fable and the new Call of Duty will be, too, alongside release date announcements. Perhaps we’ll see more of InXile's Clockwork Revolution, Undead Labs' State of Decay 3, and maybe even Hideo Kojima’s OD.

As it stands, Fable is set for launch this fall across Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC. However, it looks like servers will remain online (for now) on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox.

While it's sad to see any older game get its functionality depreciated, it's perhaps surprising that Inquisition's PS3 multiplayer mode lasted this long — through two console generations, and the arrival (and shutdown) of BioWare's big live-service attempt Anthem.

Multiplayer, of course, was not the main focus of Inquisition — BioWare's sprawling fantasy RPG threequel that remains the company's best-selling game. Fans look back on Inquisition now as the game where we met our favorite elven frenemy Solas, got horny with Iron Bull, and stayed too long in the Hinterlands.

However, following the success of Mass Effect 3's own multiplayer portion, BioWare was keen to experiment with a similar offering in Dragon Age. Another PVE affair where players used various races and classes to tackle enemies from the game's campaign, the mode was supported for a little while with new maps and loadouts. Alas, the idea never took off as Mass Effect's own multiplayer offering had — and it didn't return at all for Dragon Age: The Veilguard (which, after a spell as a live-service game, ultimately launched as fully single-player).

Is BioWare done with multiplayer gaming for good, especially after the failure of Anthem? While the company is known to be working on Mass Effect 5 (release date: still unknown) there has been no mention made of another multiplayer offering there. Game's director Steven Sharif said "much of" the senior dev team had quit "in protest," claiming that its management board had asked him to do things he "could not ethically support." According to Sharif, the Board then issued WARN Act notices — layoff warnings, in other words — to the remaining staff.

According to a new public record request, we now know that the formal WARN Act notification was issued on January 31 and indicated that 210 employees were "affected" by the filing, 123 of whom worked in California.

As unhappy players fought to get refunds out of Steam, an update from one of the studio's directors claimed the "entire" development team was reportedly laid off without notice or their January paychecks. Then, last month, Sharif said he had won the first leg of his legal battle against Intrepid's Board of Directors, led by Chair Rob Dawson, and their affiliated entity, TFE Games Holdings LLC, claiming "breaches of fiduciary duty, violations of federal and state trade secret laws, and wrongful efforts to seize company assets, including its valuable IP, through an unlawful and manufactured insider foreclosure." The San Diego court has issued a temporary restraining order in Sharifs favor against Dawson.

NefasQS allegedly uncovered evidence of a "lavish lifestyle" that's "worse than you think," claiming Intrepid spent $220.066.46 on DoorDash, $48,568 on antiques, $21,000 for a personal chef, $8717.15 on plants, $15,981.70 on movie theater tickets, $595,098.83 on Amazon orders, $21,346 on Magic the Gathering cards, and $2,200 on hotdogs. $81,166 was allegedly also provided to Gore Oil, the company that appears to own Sharif and Moore's $4.9 million San Diego mansion, which they bought in 2020.

"[A] notable thing about the numbers we see in the ledger is that without the cash injections from various loans, creditors, and investors, Ashes of Creation — or rather Intrepid Studios — would have been bankrupt multiple times," MefasQS alleged.

"You'll see a $450,000 deposit from a creditor or investor, and that same day, John [Moore] or somebody else [...] will take out amounts that vary anywhere between $750 to $300,000 that are labelled as 'shareholder loans' in the QuickBooks data. You also see the opposite, where money is taken out, but then put back in the same day or week in the same amount."

The video also claimed that both John Moore and Steven Sharif's compensation almost doubled in 2024, going from around $245,864 and $207,922 to $476,738 and $396,768, respectively.

Sharif refuted the claims, telling Kotaku: "An examination of the facts through the judicial process has already revealed that the parties behind these claims orchestrated an unlawful foreclosure to take control of Intrepid’s assets from the people who built Ashes of Creation, with the intent to exploit those assets for their own benefit.

"NefasQS has been fed false and defamatory information by individuals with an axe to grind, in an effort to litigate this dispute in the public domain alongside our lawsuit already pending in federal court," he added. "Rather than verify those claims, he has chosen to repeat them, acting as a mouthpiece to advance a narrative that drives clicks and views, with disregard for basic journalistic standards."

The video is still live at the time of writing, although NefasQS said "someone already filed a privacy complaint against this video, just a head's up, but we will be disputing it. With launch still weeks away, those who signed up for the limited test are left to reflect on the battles where they may have beaten their opponents a bit too badly.

Players of varying skill levels flocked to the Invincible VS beta and quickly found that there seemed to be little penalty for those who left matches prematurely. It led to moments where Viltrumites and Guardians alike would be pummeling their foes with a string of combos only to be met with an error that simply said, “opponent disconnected.”

Whether it be through delayed queue times or even temporary bans, many multiplayer games, especially the more competitive ones, typically have some sort of system in place to discourage this kind of behavior. Invincible VS, however, doesn’t seem to have any kind of deterrent.

Some players believe matchmaking may help the issue, with the more skilled fighters also reporting that they’ve continuously found themselves stacked in unfair matches leaning in their favor. While others have started suggesting Quarter Up implement penalties of some kind, a few believe something more extravagant, such as a feature similar to the Quitality from Mortal Kombat.

It makes sense that a free beta test would attract players who aren't as familiar with tag-team fighting games like Invincible VS, so many fans have started recommending newcomers at least don't skip the tutorial. Either way, some of the memes that have emerged from the weekend suggest players want something to be done.

“Make a fighting game free and you get a bunch of people who arent prepared for a fighting game,” one Reddit user teased.

"God forbid I have prior fighting game experience, lol," another joked.

When reminiscing about his decades-long journey through the release of everything from Doom to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Hines shared his feelings about changes within the company and what ultimately drove him to leave.

Hines had previously stated that it made sense for him to retire around the launch of the long-awaited Starfield and reiterated that point in the new interview. Although moving on meant leaving colleagues like Bethesda’s Todd Howard and Erin Losi, there was more than simple timing influencing his decision.

“I just hit a point of yes, [Bethesda] needs me, and I am powerless to do what I think needs to be done to run this place properly, to protect these people, to maintain what we worked so hard to create, which is an incredibly efficient, well run video game developer and publisher,” he explained.

“And when I was unable to do what I thought my job should involve in continuing to have that place be, you know, if not the most efficient publisher in the game industry, it was way the f**k up there. And when I couldn't protect it, and I saw how it was getting damaged and broken apart and frankly mistreated, abused, whatever word you want to use, I said I am not going to sit here and watch this happen right in front of me.”

Hines continued, saying, “This is not when I wanted it to end or how I wanted it to end.” However, he said attempting to maintain his role at Bethesda took a toll on his mental health, adding that he eventually made the decision to leave sometime in 2022, the year before Starfield launched.

Every time Todd delayed Starfield, I thought, f**k, I'm here another eight months.

“Every time Todd delayed Starfield, I thought, f**k, I'm here another eight months,” he said. “And Todd was the only one who knew. It's another reason I love that man. He showed up for me when I was just at my wit's end and got me through that, and got me out of there in a way that I still retained my sanity.”

Hines refrained from speaking in detail about any individual event, person, or decision that caused him to consider exiting in the first place. The timeline leading to the Hines’ retirement includes Microsoft’s announcement that it intended to acquire Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion in 2020 before completing the acquisition in 2021. But I'm very much about what is the follow up to that? Do you mean what you say? Or are you just saying s**t that sounds good and then as soon as you leave this room that's completely forgotten?”

He admitted that Bethesda may not have always been able to do what it said it was going to do. However, he feels it at least always tried, adding, "We are going to do what we say and say what we do and be genuine and be authentic."

“And truthfully, I still think Bethesda is just part of something that is not authentic and is not genuine," he continued. "And that shouldn't be a surprise to you.”

Hines has been vocal about changes at Bethesda in the years since his retirement. While most official information about the project remains under wraps, the site states motion capture company Pivot Motion, which aided on 2025’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and casting director Mari Ueda are searching to fill several new roles with plans to shoot in June 2026.

The most interesting of the parts touched on in the report involves a villain character with a German accent. This same character is expected to have a slim complexion and a quiet personality, with other details describing them as “intense” but “confident in a psychotic sort of way.” One last description for the character says they are expected to be like “Madds Mikkelsen in Hannibal but with flair.”

It all sounds very Kojima, especially considering the Metal Gear Solid game developer previously worked with Mikkelsen for the original Death Stranding. It’s a two-and-a-half-minute look at how the longtime Darth Maul actor contributed his body and mind to help craft a version of a fan-favorite character filled with more rage than ever.

Witwer played the vengeful Sith throughout the 2010s in spinoff projects like Solo: A Star Wars Story, Rebels, and Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Maul – Shadow Lord is the first time he’s gotten to portray the character in a standalone outing, though, and judging by today’s footage, he tried to make the most of it.

step into the shadows.

Get a glimpse behind the scenes of Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord, now streaming only on @DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/X1ZuYVHqQK
— Star Wars (@starwars) April 9, 2026

Just one example showed Witwer donning Darth Maul’s face markings while providing reference videos for the team. It’s not exactly the kind of thing viewers may have picked up on when watching the first two episodes, which premiered April 6. What some may have noticed, however, is the rough sound his red lightsaber makes as it literally roars into his enemies.

Lucasfilm said fans can “actually hear the sound of Sam’s screaming built into the saber,” as the footage highlights moments where the weapon’s red glow is accompanied by the all-too familiar screams of the show’s title character. Besides his iconic presence in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul is known for being one of the angrier characters in fiction.

It’s a status that has come with a lot of scenes featuring him grunting and screaming through the years. The HBO drama quickly became a hot topic during its first season back in 2019. It’s glitzy, often feels like a music video, and can get pretty darn graphic. Seven years later, cast members like Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya have reached different stages of their career, making it all the more surprising to see most of the main cast returning to their roles for a third season.

Whether genuine excitement or morbid curiosity is inspiring you to tune in, here’s all of the release information we have for Euphoria’s new season.

Euphoria Season 3 Episode Release Schedule

Euphoria will be streaming exclusively on HBO Max as one of the major highlights premiering on the service in April.
