BYD has expanded its UK portfolio with the launch of the BYD Dolphin Cargo—a clever light commercial vehicle derived from the Dolphin hatchback. Priced from £29,358 (excl. VAT), the compact EV van is tailored for urban businesses looking to go electric without compromising usability.

Instead of building a dedicated LCV from scratch, BYD has opted for a smart local conversion. The rear seats are removed and replaced with a full metal bulkhead, freeing up 1,093 litres of cargo space, including underfloor storage. The load bay gets a tough phenolic ply floor, reinforced door panels, and protective film on the bumper, while optional polycarbonate rear panels boost security.

Power comes from a 204PS electric motor paired with a 60.4kWh Blade Battery—BYD’s cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate setup. The brand claims an impressive 347-mile city range and 265 miles on the combined WLTP cycle, making it well-suited for last-mile delivery duties.

Despite its workhorse role, the Dolphin Cargo doesn’t skimp on features. Based on the Comfort trim, it packs vehicle-to-load capability, a heat pump, heated front seats and steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers can also opt for a 70mph limiter and choose from various upfit configurations.

After a five-year silence, Mitsubishi Motors is bringing back one of its most iconic badges—the Mitsubishi Pajero. The all-new model is set to make its global debut in autumn 2026, marking a significant revival for the brand’s flagship SUV line.

The new Pajero will be built on a rugged ladder-frame platform derived from the Mitsubishi Triton, but with extensive reworking to suit its SUV role. Mitsubishi promises a balance of serious off-road ability and improved on-road comfort, thanks to model-specific suspension and cabin development.

First introduced in 1982, the Pajero quickly became a global off-road icon. Its motorsport pedigree is hard to ignore—12 Dakar Rally wins, including a dominant streak of seven consecutive victories. Over four generations, the SUV clocked more than 3.25 million sales across 170+ markets, cementing its reputation for durability and go-anywhere capability.

Back home in Japan, the Pajero also sparked a recreational vehicle boom in the 1990s, spawning spin-offs like the Mini and iO. Known as the Montero in select markets, the SUV built a loyal following worldwide before being phased out in 2021.

Now, with SUVs dominating global demand, Mitsubishi is betting big on the Pajero’s return. Technical details remain under wraps for now, but expectations are high. If Mitsubishi gets it right, the Pajero could once again be the brand’s ultimate halo SUV.

Marking the occasion is a special BMW 3 Series Horse Edition.

The achievement highlights the rapid scale-up of BMW’s manufacturing footprint in China since local production began in 2003. What started as a single assembly operation has evolved into a fully integrated manufacturing hub, covering complete vehicle production, powertrain manufacturing, and even local research and development.

The timing is significant. BMW Brilliance is gearing up to begin production of its next-generation Neue Klasse models in Shenyang later in 2025 — a move that signals a fresh chapter for the brand in one of its most important global markets.

The Neue Klasse platform is expected to play a key role in BMW’s future, particularly in electrification and digitalisation, making this milestone more than just a numbers game. It’s a transition point.

With seven million units now under its belt, the Shenyang facility stands as one of BMW’s most critical global production bases — and with Neue Klasse on the horizon, the next million could arrive even faster.

LG Electronics is pushing the boundaries of in-car tech with its latest Android Automotive OS-based infotainment system, built around a clever single-chip architecture that could redefine modern dashboards.

At the heart of the system is a multi-display control setup powered by Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. Unlike conventional setups that require separate chips for each screen, LG’s solution runs multiple displays of varying sizes and formats using just one system-on-chip.

The idea is simple but impactful — fewer components, lower costs, and reduced system complexity for automakers. In its demo, LG showcased a seamless experience with a driver-focused navigation screen, a front passenger video display, and even rear-seat live TV, all running simultaneously off a single processor.

Beyond hardware efficiency, the system brings a more personalised in-car experience. It supports individual user profiles, customised settings, cross-screen content sharing, and even parental controls for rear-seat entertainment.

Voice functionality has also been significantly enhanced. Drivers can now control screen layouts, launch apps, adjust vehicle functions, and tweak system settings using voice commands — especially useful in the increasingly common wide, panoramic dashboard layouts.

Prices start at JP¥4.98 million for the Z grade, going up to JP¥5.5 million for the more rugged Z Adventure variant.

Built at Toyota’s Ban Pho plant in Thailand, the new Hilux sticks to its proven ladder-frame IMV platform but gets notable structural upgrades. Thicker frame side rails and 36 additional spot welds in the floor enhance rigidity, promising better toughness — something Hilux buyers swear by.

Under the hood sits the familiar 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV diesel engine paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. A part-time 4WD system comes standard, along with Multi-Terrain Select and Multi-Terrain Monitor, making it as capable off-road as ever.

Dimension-wise, the pickup measures 5,325 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width and 1,865 mm in height, with a payload capacity of up to 500 kg. While the core remains rugged, Toyota has injected a dose of modernity. There’s now electric power steering, an electronic parking brake, a large 12.3-inch infotainment display and a connected Data Communication Module enabling over-the-air updates.

With this update, Toyota has ensured the Hilux stays true to its roots while packing enough tech to keep it relevant in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.

The collaboration centres around calcium carbonate recovered from Nissan’s vehicle paint facilities, now repurposed into sound-insulating sheets called TS-12 and TS-20. These products are designed for building applications and mark a clever shift from waste disposal to value creation.

The material originates from Nissan’s “dry booth” paint system used at its Tochigi and Oppama plants. Unlike traditional water-based systems — where paint mist dissolves into wastewater and becomes industrial waste — this method captures overspray using calcium carbonate filters. The result is a solid byproduct that can be collected and reused efficiently.

By channeling this recovered material into construction products, the initiative is expected to cut around 1,200 tonnes of waste annually while reducing disposal costs by approximately JP¥25 million. There’s an environmental upside too — the new sheets are said to lower CO2 emissions by over 30% compared to conventional alternatives.

Manufactured by Takayama Kasei and marketed by Taiho, the TS-12 and TS-20 sheets establish a practical, real-world application for recycled automotive waste beyond the factory floor.

Nissan says this is just the beginning. The company is already exploring further uses for the recovered calcium carbonate, including potential integration into automotive components by 2030.

Modern diesel trucks are built to deliver strong towing power, dependable performance, and long-term durability. However, as emissions systems become more advanced, many diesel owners begin facing issues related to soot buildup and restricted airflow. One of the most discussed topics among heavy-duty diesel enthusiasts is the LML EGR delete, particularly due to recurring maintenance concerns associated with excessive carbon buildup in the engine.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation system, commonly known as the EGR system, was designed to reduce emissions by redirecting a portion of exhaust gases back into the engine’s intake system. While this process helps lower nitrogen oxide emissions, it also introduces hot soot-filled exhaust into vital engine components. Over time, this can create thick carbon deposits that affect airflow, throttle response, cooling efficiency, and overall engine reliability.

As soot accumulates, drivers may begin noticing reduced power, sluggish acceleration, increased smoke output, and repeated warning lights. These issues often lead owners to research the LML egr delete as an off-road modification intended to reduce soot circulation and improve engine cleanliness in competition or non-highway applications.

Top Symptoms of a Failing LML EGR and How a Delete Helps

Soot contamination in the EGR system can cause several noticeable problems that gradually affect performance and drivability. Understanding these warning signs helps explain why many diesel operators look for ways to reduce excessive carbon buildup.

Stuck Valve Fault Codes and Annoying Check Engine Lights

One of the most common EGR-related problems involves the EGR valve becoming clogged with soot deposits. Since exhaust gases constantly pass through the valve, carbon buildup slowly restricts its movement. Eventually, the valve may stick partially open or closed, causing improper airflow within the engine.

When this happens, the engine management system often detects abnormal operating conditions and triggers fault codes or checks engine lights. Drivers may also notice rough idling, hesitation during acceleration, or inconsistent engine response while towing.

Cleaning the valve can sometimes provide temporary improvement, but repeated soot exposure often causes the same issues to return over time. For many diesel owners, recurring fault codes become both frustrating and expensive to manage, especially on high-mileage trucks frequently used under heavy load conditions.

Frequent, Uncontrolled Exhaust Smoke under Load

Excessive soot buildup can also interfere with combustion efficiency, leading to increased exhaust smoke during acceleration or while towing heavy trailers. Restricted airflow and contaminated intake passages reduce the engine’s ability to maintain clean and balanced combustion.

As airflow efficiency declines, turbocharger response may also become less consistent. Drivers often describe symptoms such as sluggish throttle response, delayed acceleration, or a noticeable lack of pulling power on steep grades.

Carbon deposits inside intake manifolds can worsen the problem further by narrowing airflow channels and disrupting proper air distribution. This not only affects performance but may also contribute to reduced fuel economy over time.

Many off-road diesel enthusiasts explore modifications designed to reduce soot contamination and maintain cleaner airflow throughout the intake system. Discussions around these upgrades often focus on reducing long-term maintenance and improving reliability during demanding towing or competition use.

For those researching off-road solutions, information regarding heavy-duty LML EGR delete kits is frequently referenced within diesel performance communities.

Clogged Coolers Causing Dangerous Engine Coolant Loss

Another major issue linked to soot accumulation involves the EGR cooler. This component is responsible for lowering the temperature of exhaust gases before they are reintroduced into the intake system. Continuous exposure to heat, pressure, and carbon deposits can eventually cause internal restrictions or structural damage.

As the cooler becomes clogged, internal temperatures may rise significantly. Over time, cracks or leaks can develop within the cooling passages. When this occurs, engine coolant may leak into the exhaust stream or combustion chamber.

Coolant loss is a serious concern because it can lead to overheating, white exhaust smoke, poor engine operation, and potentially major internal damage if ignored. In severe cases, prolonged coolant leaks may contribute to turbocharger damage or head gasket failure.

Because soot and heat place constant stress on EGR coolers, many diesel operators seek ways to simplify airflow systems in off-road applications where emissions regulations differ from standard highway requirements.

How the LML EGR Delete Restores Throttle Response and Power

One of the most commonly reported benefits associated with EGR modifications in off-road diesel applications is improved throttle response. By reducing the amount of soot-filled exhaust entering the intake system, airflow becomes cleaner and more efficient.

Cleaner intake airflow allows the engine to maintain more stable combustion conditions under load. Drivers often notice quicker turbo spool-up, smoother acceleration, and more consistent power delivery when towing or hauling heavy equipment.

Reduced soot contamination may also help limit carbon buildup inside the intake manifold, intercooler piping, and turbocharger components. Over time, cleaner airflow can contribute to more predictable engine operation and reduced maintenance requirements.

Another advantage involves lowering intake temperatures. Since hot exhaust gases are no longer continuously recirculated into the intake stream, the engine may operate more efficiently during demanding driving conditions. This can improve drivability in off-road or competition environments where consistent performance is especially important.

In many cases, diesel enthusiasts pursuing off-road modifications are primarily focused on restoring reliability and minimizing the long-term effects of soot contamination rather than simply increasing horsepower.

Off-Road Competition Rules and Legal Disclaimers

It is important to understand that emissions-related modifications are regulated in many regions. EGR systems are installed by manufacturers to meet environmental standards, and removing or modifying these systems may violate federal, state, or local emissions laws for vehicles operated on public roads.

Because of these regulations, EGR delete modifications are generally intended only for off-road, racing, or competition vehicles that are not driven on public highways.

Before considering any emissions-related modification, vehicle owners should carefully research local laws and understand all legal responsibilities regarding emissions compliance in their area.

Conclusion: Restoring the Lost Reliability of Your LML Duramax

Soot buildup remains one of the most common causes of performance decline and reliability concerns in modern diesel engines equipped with exhaust recirculation systems. Over time, carbon accumulation can contribute to stuck valves, warning lights, excessive smoke, coolant leaks, and sluggish throttle response.

As these issues become more frequent, many diesel owners begin exploring ways to reduce soot contamination and improve long-term engine cleanliness in off-road applications. Understanding how the EGR system affects airflow and engine performance helps owners make informed decisions regarding maintenance and operational reliability.

For additional technical resources and diesel airflow information, many enthusiasts also explore the EGR Performance diesel parts catalog when researching diesel exhaust and intake system components.

Bosch has taken a major step in electrifying heavy-duty transport, with its joint venture Bosch MC Battery Service Innovations securing its first customer in China. Partnering with Mitsubishi Corporation, the venture has rolled out a new energy service hub in Chizhou, operated by Shanghai Lingzhou Technology.

The facility introduces a ‘Battery as a Service’ model tailored for electric truck fleets. In simple terms, it allows trucks to either swap depleted batteries or recharge them within minutes — a game-changer for commercial operations where downtime directly impacts profitability. The hub is already capable of handling over 100 electric trucks per day.

Behind the scenes, an AI-driven charging system and integrated inspection tech manage the entire process, ensuring both speed and safety. Bosch’s ‘Battery in the Cloud’ software plays a crucial role here, constantly monitoring battery health, predicting degradation, and optimising charging strategies for fleet operators.

This data-first approach not only helps maximise battery life but also improves overall fleet efficiency and cost of ownership — a key concern for logistics companies transitioning to electric mobility.

Bosch highlights that nearly 30% of heavy-duty trucks sold in China in 2025 were New Energy Vehicles, underlining the rapid shift in the segment. Looking ahead, the company expects over half of all new truck sales by 2030 to be fully electric.

Beyond operations, the collected data is also being channelled into aftermarket services such as connected insurance and predictive maintenance, with Mitsubishi playing a key role in market integration and service expansion.

And it’s the GT that’s grabbing headlines.

The YU7 GT has stormed the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a blistering lap time of 7:22.755, setting a new production SUV record and undercutting the previous benchmark by a massive 14 seconds. That’s serious pace for a full-size electric SUV.

Powering the GT is a dual-motor setup producing a staggering 1,003 PS, driven by Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V8s EVO that spins up to 28,000 rpm. The result? A 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.92 seconds and a claimed top speed of 300 km/h — numbers that firmly place it in supercar territory.

Design-wise, the Ti7 gets a bold stance with split LED lighting up front, a contrasting lower bumper finished in titanium tones, and chunky wheel arches. The upright rear profile emphasises practicality, while inside, the cabin is configured with three rows of seating to maximise passenger space.

The Ti7 will be BYD’s first seven-seater in the UK, positioned above its current range of crossovers and sedans. While pricing and exact launch timelines remain under wraps, more details are expected soon.

Jaguar Land Rover is gearing up to showcase the all-new Range Rover Electric, marking the first fully electric model to carry the iconic Range Rover badge. The EV will be previewed at exclusive, invitation-only events through summer 2026, before order books officially open later in the year.

The pre-production SUV has already made its first public appearance at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with additional showings lined up in Sardinia and at Wimbledon. These curated events will offer select customers an early look—and feel—of the brand’s most anticipated EV yet.

In terms of design, the Range Rover Electric sticks closely to the brand’s signature silhouette. Subtle cues like a flush grille and unique wheel centre caps are the only giveaways of its all-electric underpinnings, keeping the classic Range Rover identity intact.

JLR is keeping technical details under wraps for now, with no confirmation yet on battery specs, range, pricing or drivetrain configuration. What’s clear, however, is that the EV will sit alongside existing petrol, diesel and hybrid models, rather than spinning off into a separate sub-brand.

Backed by Tata Motors and built in the UK, the Range Rover Electric represents a major milestone for the brand. As electrification gathers pace, this model is set to redefine what a luxury electric SUV from Range Rover should feel like—without losing its core DNA.

Hyundai Motor America is scaling up its software game, expanding its over-the-air (OTA) digital features marketplace to more vehicles. The Hyundai Tucson, Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Santa Cruz and Hyundai Ioniq 5 now join the platform, taking the total to six models alongside the Hyundai Palisade and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

Through the Bluelink Store, customers can browse, purchase and activate software-driven features directly via the app or website. Updates are delivered over the air and installed without a dealership visit, making the process seamless. Hyundai also confirms that once purchased, these features remain with the car for life—even transferring to the next owner.

To mark the expansion, Hyundai has introduced a special FIFA World Cup 2026 display theme, available free for US customers until October 19, 2026. It features tournament branding along with visuals of Boston Dynamics’ Atlas and Spot robots. Other themes on offer include Nature, a retro-inspired Hyundai Pony tribute, and a Peanuts theme with Snoopy.

These digital themes require Hyundai’s connected infotainment system and an active Bluelink subscription. With more features in the pipeline, Hyundai’s growing OTA ecosystem highlights its push towards software-defined vehicles, where functionality can evolve long after the car leaves the showroom.

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to showcase its first flex-fuel vehicle in India on World Environment Day, signaling a fresh push towards alternative fuels. The announcement was made by Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, during a recent event in Nagpur.

This move doesn’t come out of the blue. Maruti has been quietly developing flex-fuel technology, and previously pulled the wraps off an E100-ready version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx at the Japan Mobility Show. That prototype hinted at the brand’s readiness to adapt to ethanol-based fuels as India explores cleaner mobility solutions.

At the same time, the government is accelerating efforts to support flex-fuel adoption. Plans are underway to establish around 5,000 E100 fuel stations across the country within the next two years, a move aimed at reducing dependence on crude oil imports.

The upcoming unveiling could mark a significant step in making ethanol-powered vehicles more mainstream in India. If executed well, it won’t just expand Maruti’s portfolio, but also align closely with the country’s broader push for energy independence and lower emissions.

Honda has rolled out the updated Honda City in India, bringing a sharper design and a tech-loaded cabin to the popular midsize sedan. Prices for the 2026 facelift start at ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom), with four variants on offer: SV, V, ZX and ZX+.

The facelift introduces a refreshed exterior, highlighted by a redesigned front end with connected LED headlamps, revised bumpers and updated tail-lights. New dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels round off the visual tweaks, giving the City a more contemporary stance.

Step inside, and the upgrades are more apparent. A larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage, now paired with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The sedan also gets a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, an 8-speaker audio setup, sunroof and a rear sunshade, pushing its premium appeal further.

On the safety front, Honda has equipped the City with a comprehensive suite including six airbags, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, hill-start assist, lane watch camera and Level 2 ADAS features.

Under the hood, the City continues with its tried-and-tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 119 BHP and 145 Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT. The City e:HEV variant retains its 1.5-litre strong-hybrid setup paired with an e-CVT.
