The camera has connected me with so many amazing people, enriching my relationships and forever shaping how I view the world. Every day, I spot potential shots in the most ordinary moments—sparks of inspiration that fuel my creativity wherever I go. Being behind the lens for so many years has allowed me to forge lifelong friendships and cultivate an outlook that colors every aspect of my life.

Let’s rewind the story for a moment—because, let’s face it, life really does its thing sometimes! My good friend Kenny and I had drifted apart over the past couple of years as we each tackled our own personal ups and downs. Even though we share the same passion for photography (and so much else), life just took us in different directions for a while. During that time, I poured myself into refining my craft and connecting with new people—one of whom happened to be Deanna, a talented model you’ve seen featured in my work. 

I was hanging out on the couch one day when my phone started ringing. I glanced down and saw it was Kenny—completely unexpected! At first, I wondered if it might be a pocket dial, but nope, he intentionally called. He’d noticed my recent work with Deanna and wanted to team up with her, too. I couldn’t help feeling both shocked and honored, because he could’ve just worked with her. Instead, he came to me, and we slipped right back into our old rapport. After hashing out details, I had to ask, “So, where’ve you been, bro?” But honestly, it didn’t matter. He was alive, well, and we were both in a great place to reconnect.

Right after I got off the phone with Kenny, I immediately reached out to Deanna—only to find out she was just about to call me, too! Turns out, we both had the same idea in mind. What’s funny is we had literally just been talking about her connecting with more people to expand her reach a few days earlier, and then Kenny shows up. She mentioned she’d love for me to join them on this shoot, and I told her I’d absolutely be in if my schedule allowed.

I also made sure to hype up Kenny’s skills—he’s got a broad eye for concepts and can piece together a theme for a shoot like nobody’s business. Plus, he’s fantastic at posing subjects, which I knew would be awesome for Deanna as she continues to broaden her range and grow her portfolio.

Fast forward to the shoot in Downtown Denver. By the time I arrived, Kenny and Deanna had already been snapping away for a couple of hours. I eased in without trying to hijack the energy—just playing third wheel and offering a helping hand. Deanna looked incredible, rocking a new hair color I hadn’t seen before, and I couldn’t resist grabbing a few shots of my own.

The best part was how Kenny and I synced right up on set, like we’d never skipped a beat. Working alongside Deanna—someone I share both a genuine friendship and creative spark with—just added to the fun. It had been ages since I collaborated with another photographer this closely, and it felt great dusting off some old techniques. Kenny’s presence lit that spark for me again, and suddenly my creative juices were flowing in full force.

Now that the band’s back together—with a few fresh additions—I’m pretty sure these kinds of shoots are just the beginning for Kenny and me. There’s so much creative energy when we feed off each other, and that collaboration always inspires an entirely new set of ideas. I’m thrilled that we’re back in sync, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.

The newly married Taban and I finally had the chance to work together once again after taking a brief but necessary break. As I navigated the world of wedding planning myself, I felt it was important to allow Taban the opportunity to truly focus on her future and what’s most meaningful to her. Because of this, during that significant phase of planning, I didn’t reach out to her as much as I normally would have to arrange any photoshoots. I know what she and I have accomplished together in the past, and when the time was just right, I had a strong feeling that we would effortlessly pick up right where we left off, continuing our creative journey!

Finally getting in the studio together again created an overwhelming sense of excitement and anticipation, which sparked an array of exciting ideas. A little bit of this, some of that, and a sprinkle of something unique. We were able to touch on a few different concepts that have been lingering on our shoot lists for quite a while, igniting our creative spirits and motivating us to explore new possibilities.

Working with Taban never disappoints. Her innovative creative looks and exceptional eye for fashion align perfectly with my personal style, which I believe is what makes our collaborative efforts not only enjoyable but also enables us to produce such remarkable work together. The chemistry between the two of us during a shoot is exceptionally unique and distinctly our own, allowing for the stunning imagery that we create to truly shine.

Life throws many unexpected obstacles at you. I chose to navigate through the winding journey of life by embracing those daunting challenges head-on as much as I possibly can by simply living authentically and striving to get the most enriching experiences out of it. They say that you only live once, and if that’s true, then you only get one shot at making the very best of this extraordinary adventure we call life. Sure, I could undoubtedly be doing a lot of things in my life much better, like committing to exercising more regularly, eating a healthier, more balanced diet; you know, the things that a high percentage of us often mention, right? While I could certainly be doing those various things better, and I have every intention to apply myself diligently to improving in those areas, I am increasingly finding myself more actively engaged in the activities that I truly enjoy. This includes traveling to new and exciting destinations, attending a greater number of sporting events, spending more time outdoors, and embracing a more adventurous lifestyle, among other pursuits that bring me joy and fulfillment.

As I write these words today, I’ve been eagerly wanting to share my thoughts about this truly beautiful soul for quite some time now, but I knew it was important to be patient until the perfect moment arrived, allowing me to gather some outstanding content that would truly match the deep feeling behind the words that you are about to read. I am thrilled to introduce to you, Jasmine. Our paths crossed organically about a year ago through my dear friend Deanna, someone you’ve seen me collaborate with multiple times during various shoots. Jasmine happened to attend one of the sessions that Deanna and I conducted, and we quickly followed each other on Instagram afterward. Interestingly enough, during that particular shoot, I didn’t pay much attention to Jasmine; my focus was entirely on capturing the essence of our shoot with Deanna, and I was determined not to let any distractions pull me away from the moment.

Jasmine and I engaged in a delightful conversation afterwards, messaging each other back and forth, which allowed me to soon get to know her better and gain deeper insight into her personality. A few weeks after our initial encounter, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to meet her in person again at an event for which I was hired that she attended. This time, I truly took notice of her presence, and I found myself captivated by her beauty in a way I had not before. Finally, I could match the vibrant personality I had been getting to know with the person standing before me. At that point, Jasmine and I had a session scheduled, but once we had the chance to connect face-to-face, my eagerness to shoot with her grew immensely. From then on, we launched into an extraordinary series of sessions filled with breathtaking work and creativity together!

Over the course of this year, I've had the privilege of getting to know Jasmine on a deeper level, allowing me to fully appreciate her journey. The past two years have undeniably been challenging for her, to say the least. What she has been overcoming is nothing short of remarkable; she navigates life with a grace that belies the struggles she has faced. Jasmine embodies hope, radiating positivity that speaks to her resilience. Highlighting beauty such as Katty’s doesn’t come without its fair share of challenges. On my end, I must be sure to capture her in the right environment to truly bring out the best in what she has to offer, which forces me to be acutely aware of various crucial factors including lighting, composition, background, posing, and many other important elements that contribute to the overall aesthetic. Simply turning my camera on and snapping pics doesn’t quite do the job effectively. There’s a tremendous amount of thought and artistry that goes into creating a stunning look such as what you see in the final images.

But when you offer the stunning beauty of Katty and possess the incredible vibe that she and I share, it truly does make the experience of capturing shots like these so much fun and fulfilling. The product that you see in these photographs is essentially the result of all the carefully selected ingredients brought together to create the exquisite main course of our creative endeavor.

Chere and I have had the pleasure of collaborating on a number of different projects over the years, primarily with her serving as my talented makeup artist for many of my sessions. This time around, I was genuinely motivated to turn my camera on her because of an incredible session that I had seen her do with someone else, which left me feeling highly inspired and enthusiastic to work with her on this end of things. As it turns out, it coincided perfectly with her birthday, so a special birthday session was definitely on the table! Chere recently hinted at the possibility of retiring from the makeup side of things, and I passionately told her that she simply can't step away, especially after witnessing how incredibly well she did on her own makeup for this particular session. I have known Liz for a couple of years now, but we have really started to work closely together for just over a year. Both of us are around the same age, which allows us to share many of the same thoughts and perspectives on where we currently are in our lives. She has confided in me during our time working together that she is eager to enter this new chapter of life with a sense of confidence and positivity about herself. From these stunning images, it is clear that Liz is a truly beautiful woman, which leads me to ponder how much more radiant and beautiful she can become as she embarks on this journey.

She has proven she can become even more beautiful as she embraces time, beyond what I ever envisioned. I’ve had the incredible opportunity to witness an amazing transformation in her that has, in turn, motivated me to reflect on and strive toward being better about who I want to be as I enter this next pivotal chapter of my life. Becoming more fit, being more conscious of where I can truly maximize my abilities, and understanding my limitations are just a few examples of areas where I can make meaningful improvements. Enhancing my mental state has been at the very forefront of my personal transformation as I embark on this exciting new chapter. All of this positive change is thanks to my uplifting friendship with Liz and her inspiring presence that has truly rubbed off on me.

I’d like to think that the overwhelming majority of small businesses thrive largely off of referrals, just as I do with my own photography services. Overall, it’s an amazing and effective way to gain trust from past clients, allowing them to pass on their positive experiences to new clients who may be seeking similar services. My business truly loves and values referrals, and Brayan and Jackie were a referral of a different kind, sort of.

Brayan and my Mother-in-Law used to be coworkers, but they have maintained a wonderful friendship and stayed in contact over the years. As Jackie has progressed further in her pregnancy, my thoughtful and caring Mother-in-Law figured it would be a lovely and memorable gift to offer them a maternity session, especially since this is their first child. She naturally thought of me, having a close connection to a wonderful photographer such as myself, lol. The gesture was such a great and thoughtful idea, and I honestly couldn’t thank her enough for the opportunity to meet this wonderful couple and capture such a truly memorable time in their lives!

During the booking and planning stages of the session, Brayan and Jackie didn’t really have any specific ideas or concepts in mind for their upcoming session, and under the unique circumstances of how this session came about, I can totally understand that hesitation. I can imagine that as they embark on this exciting new venture in their lives, they must have a lot going on in preparation for bringing a new life into this world. A photoshoot and ideas for one must be, understandably, one of the last things occupying their minds amidst all the preparations.

As I took the time to break down my session structure, discussing in detail how the session would unfold and what they could expect, I did my utmost to reassure them that I would take great care of them throughout this process, ensuring that we would create stunning and memorable images to highlight this momentous time, and to encourage them not to worry. I felt very confident in what I was going to provide for them, drawing upon past experiences and my extensive study of a variety of maternity portraits to inspire the session. Let me add, during this booking process, I don’t know them, and they don’t know me. I have no familiarity with what they look like or what to expect from them. However, this was not a problem at all; I am well-versed in creating compelling imagery on the spot. So, I went into this session fully prepared with an array of different ideas, ready for whoever would walk through the door of the studio to transform their expectations into reality.

Brayan and I had a brief conversation during the booking process in preparation for the upcoming session, but to be completely honest, I really don’t have a clear understanding of who these two individuals are. However, I have complete faith and trust that my Mother-in-Law is referring excellent people to me, so I am not the slightest bit worried about what I’m getting into; after all, I operate a business that provides a valuable service. Dealing with new clients and personalities is a regular part of my routine.

As we begin our session, I take some time to introduce myself properly, allowing me to get to know both Brayan and Jackie better. During our time together, I discover that Brayan knows and has conducted business with a significant number of my family members over the years. It turns out that Brayan is involved in the printing business, specializing in shirts and clothing, and I even find a few articles of his impressive work in my closet from past softball teams that I’ve played on, as well as church membership activities and events I’ve taken part in due to his affiliation with my wife’s uncle. It truly is a small world! Of course, throughout the session, I took the opportunity to showcase my capture. brand clothing and made a persuasive sales pitch for my work! As if that coincidence weren't enough, I also learn that he knows Deja, a frequent collaborator of mine whose work is prominently featured all over my website. Who would have thought?

Needless to say, our time together on this memorable session was an absolute blast! I couldn’t have possibly expected how great of a time it turned out to be, and I was thrilled with how the images came out in the end!

Operating off script turned out to be the key to a truly successful maternity session, as we genuinely spent time getting to know each other better and enjoying some delightful conversations while capturing beautiful images. It really didn’t feel like work on my end at all.

A heartfelt congrats to Brayan and Jackie on the wonderful journey of inviting a new life into this world, and I wish them nothing but the absolute best as they embark on this exciting new chapter together.

I must admit, trying to rekindle that old magic took a bit more effort than I initially expected, as we had to work diligently to reform our chemistry together and find that familiar connection once again. Recently, Madison brought to me a concept that was incredibly near and dear to her heart, which she was eager to transform into reality in preparation for an exciting role that she was awarded to act out in an upcoming play. So, let’s take a step back and delve deeper into the story…

Madison is an incredibly talented actor hailing from the vibrant Los Angeles area, and she was performing a captivating character in a play in Denver. During her time in town, she connected with a good friend of mine, Noelia, who is someone I've collaborated with a countless number of times. Madison was thrilled to have been awarded a dream role, embodying a character she has always aspired to play. In celebration of this wonderful achievement, she was eager to do a striking photoshoot aimed at bringing more depth and life to her portrayal of the character. Noelia, being the thoughtful and supportive friend that she is, referred Madison to me to effectively capture this look, drawn by the moody vibe of Madison's subject. She firmly believed that I would be the most suitable choice to authentically evoke the mood and essence of the character in the photographs.

Madison shared a few detailed examples of what she envisioned and wanted to accomplish, and I took it upon myself to ensure that she fully understood that I was indeed the right man for the job.

From my experience working with all of the incredible people that my friend Noelia has referred to me over the years, I can confidently say that they have all been exceptionally cool individuals with vibrant and engaging personalities, and Madison was no different. My greatest memory from the session was her lively entry into the studio. I happened to be casually enjoying a cold Modelo, which is my usual go-to for this type of creative session, when she noticed the bottle in my hand upon her arrival. She made a playful remark about how good it looked, and I eagerly asked her if she wanted one as well. Her immediate and enthusiastic response was, “Fuck yea!” This was my very first encounter with her in person, and I was immediately struck by her dynamic personality. I absolutely love when a client walks into the studio showing no signs of nerves or apprehension at the start of a session; it is a refreshing experience that allows me to focus entirely on the essential elements of composition, lighting, and posing, without having to worry about putting my client at ease as well.

During our time together on this photoshoot, I had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Madison on a much deeper level, and her story is truly incredible. While we were discussing various ideas through text, meticulously planning out the session, I initially assumed that she lived right here in Denver. To my surprise, I discovered that she was actually based in Los Angeles but was in Denver for business purposes. I was fascinated by her craft, which has brought her to Denver for an extended period of time. She mentioned that she absolutely loves to visit this city and comes out to Denver quite frequently. I sincerely hope that she and I will have the chance to connect again at some point during her future travels to this beautiful city. Or perhaps, just maybe, I could pay her a visit in her hometown someday; who knows what the future holds…

I am deeply honored that I was given the wonderful opportunity to work with such a remarkably professional and vibrant person as Madison. It fills me with joy that, while in town on business, she chose me to capture such a special moment and significant milestone in her thriving career! I genuinely hope that our paths cross again in the future, and if that moment arises, I’m incredibly eager to see the incredible magic we can create together. Until then, I will cherish and enjoy the magic that we created within the two-hour timeframe that we spent together during this memorable session, and I sincerely hope that you can enjoy these images as much as we do!

On this particular occasion with Don, we embarked on an exciting adventure with Renewal by Anderson, a well-known window and door replacement company. They hosted a delightful gala event in Greenwood Village, CO, which featured an array of great food, lively dancing, engaging casino-style games, thoughtful gifts, and an overall enjoyable night filled with laughter and memorable moments!

Definitely a night to remember, filled with unforgettable moments and vibrant energy! Hopefully, I will be able to attend next year’s event and immerse myself in the excitement once more, capturing all of the fun and joy through my lens again.

Meeting Ryan for this session was an absolute delight and a lot of fun. As mentioned above, she truly has a wealth of positive things going for her in life and seems to possess a great head on her shoulders as she approached the session. She knew exactly what she wanted, how she envisioned the final images to turn out, and precisely where she wanted them done at. From my experience, it’s not very common to encounter a young client with such a well-defined vision nailed down to a T. The positive aspect of this situation is that it only made my job that much easier and more enjoyable.

Kudos to Ryan for successfully completing her incredible journey through high school and for courageously moving on to the next exciting chapter of her life as she heads to college. I wholeheartedly wish her nothing but the very best in all her future endeavors. I also want to express my deep appreciation to her for granting me the wonderful opportunity to capture these stunning images, which made my job not only fulfilling but also exceedingly easy and enjoyable in the process.

Jenny mentioned to me that she had a desire of creating some colorful themes and 90's fashion. She asked if it was something that I was interested in. The fashion, the colors, the vibes are all things that I love and fit in my wheelhouse of creation. Jenny certainly brought the fashion and the style, I had to bring the vision to life!

On top of creating such a fun set of images, we also had a great time vibing in the studio for this session! I would love to get the opportunity to work with Jenny again!!

In our time of creating together, one thing that I recently noticed is that her & I have never stepped outside of the studio to shoot which I found incredibly weird. All of our strange, creative concepts have all taken place in studio and I felt that it was time to take our creativeness outdoors to see what crazy concept we could come up with. To be honest, I wasn't quite expecting for us to create what we ended up creating on this session. I'm still blown away by how great these images feel from our latest session and honestly I want more of these with Noelia!

Noelia's father lives in a home in Evergreen, CO that boasts an immense amount of open space full of trees and grasslands which created an amazing space to photograph this set of images. Discussions of utilizing this space started last year in 2023 but due to scheduling constraints of our busy schedules, we were never afforded the availability to make it happen. This summer we made it a priority to get up there and create, a decision that I don't regret one bit!

Upon completion of this session I determined that Noelia & I have more creation that needs to take place, OUTDOORS! I think that in our beautiful state of Colorado, her & I have a ton more spaces to photograph at to take advantage of the scenery. I am very excited for these images and very excited to share these with the world. Thanks Noelia for such an amazing photoshoot 😉

Headshots are undoubtedly some of my absolute favorite shots to take. I genuinely love how I am able to showcase and bring out the unique personality of someone through what initially appears to be a simple shot. Leah's personality is undeniably calm and relaxed, yet I noticed that there’s a powerful and striking seriousness to how she carries herself, which adds depth to her character. When preparing for headshots, I typically have a few go-to poses that I like to present to my clients, and I was fully prepared to provide those tailored options for Leah. However, I quickly realized it wasn’t necessary at all. After taking just a few shots at the beginning of our shoot, I could see that she possesses a remarkable natural posing ability that didn't require much of my assistance at all, allowing her authentic self to shine through effortlessly.

I am in no way an expert, and I absolutely have no experience in the world of acting at all, but I can confidently say from my observations and experiences of working alongside other talented actors that Leah is more than ready to embark on her exciting journey. Don't be surprised at all if you soon find her shining on stage in a live performance that you attend or appearing in a commercial on television before you know it!

Sometimes a photoshoot can give you the opportunity to escape from the outside world and forget everything that you have going on for a couple of hours. Katty & I both had some personal things going on while photographing this session but while shooting we both were able to escape from that & jump into our element to create some everlasting images.

In being such a huge fan of reading, we had to incorporate a book into this look. Katty loves to read in her free time & can knockout a good read in a matter of days from start to finish!

I was recently given the opportunity to photograph a maternity session with a past client, Chisom & her husband. My past session with them was right before they got married a few years back and this session was to highlight the new entry into their young family. I love the fact that I get to capture such beautiful moments with families and that they trust me with such moments.

Chisom wanted to capture a beachside look for this session so we headed to the lake to kick off the shoes and walk in the sand. I am such a fan of the lighting from sunset off of the water around golden hour! Congrats to this young couple on their new bundle of joy, I wish them the absolute best! I hope to get the opportunity to photograph their young one throughout the years.
