Through this collaborative, t he demand for and availability of local fresh food will be doubled; residents in all neighborhoods and of all incomes will have access to affordable healthy food; all children and youth will have safe and appropriate play spaces; many more residents will build regular physical activity into their lives by walking or biking to shopping, work, school, or for recreation; and youth will be civically engaged and their thinking will integrate the relationship between eating healthy food, a physically active lifestyle and good health. &lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Position Summary: &lt;br /&gt;In the spring of 2006, leaders and stakeholders came together to form a community collaborative that would create systems change in the areas of food and fitness in all of Boston.   The initiative became the Boston Collaborative for Food and Fitness (BCFF) and in April, 2007, the Collaborative was the recipient of a two-year planning grant from the Kellogg Foundation.  These funds allowed the Collaborative to hire an executive director who will guide and oversee a planning process to: build and maintain a healthy, well-functioning community-driven collaborative; develop youth capacity for leadership, advocacy and planning; create an action plan for systems change in food and fitness; and use participatory evaluation to improve the effectiveness of the Collaborative's work.&lt;br /&gt;The Program Manager of the BCFF is responsible for assisting the Director in supporting and guiding the work of the BCFF during its planning stage. The Program Manager's role will have a specific focus on Youth Development and will also address communication needs and other Collaborative-wide tasks. The Program Manager will also assist the Director with necessary tasks such as scheduling meetings and sending updates to Collaborative members and other key stakeholders .
