Sarah Hyland is making her long-awaited return to the Broadway stage!

It was just announced that the 34-year-old actress will be taking over the leading female role of Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, according to People.

She will take the place of Eva Noblezada, who originated the role in the Broadway musical.

Sarah will begin performances as Daisy in The Great Gatsby beginning February 10th at Broadway Theatre in NYC, alongside recently announced Ryan McCartan, who takes over as Jay Gatsby starting in January. Tickets can be purchased HERE!

This marks Sarah‘s first time on Broadway in nearly 20 years after last starring in Grey Gardens in 2006-2007. More recently, she starred as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway from May to September 2024 alongside Andrew Barth Feldman.

Courteney Cox is returning for Scream 7, according to a new report.

The 60-year-old actress will once again play Gale Weathers in the seventh installment of the horror franchise, set to be released in 2026, Variety reported.

Courteney has appeared in every Scream film.

Back in September, she told the outlet: “I’m not officially signed on. I’m not, but there will be a Scream 7.”

She said she was still waiting for a final script, but was “excited” that the film will be Kevin Williamson’s first time directing a Scream movie. He wrote the script for the first movie in 1996.

“You can’t get better than that choice,” she said, adding “It’s going to be fun.”

At the time, she also spoke about Dewey (David Arquette) and her hope to bring him back.

“I understand the reasons they did it, but whoa! Talk about a missed character,” she said. “Dewey is so loved by Scream fans. They have to figure it out.”

Rachel Brosnahan is front and center in a brand new first look at the upcoming Superman movie!

The 34-year-old actress will be starring as Lois Lane in the superhero flick, and she can be seen in the Daily Planet office in the latest teaser video ahead of the official teaser trailer release on Thursday (December 19).

The Penguin just might be getting another season!

The HBO series from DC Studios stars Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka The Penguin), and is a continuation of the saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began with the global blockbuster The Batman.

Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Michael Zegen, Carmen Ejogo, and Theo Rossi all star.

Following the conclusion of the show’s first season, many viewers are curious if it will continue on for a second season.

HBO has not currently renewed The Penguin for Season 2, but The Batman‘s director spoke to the story’s continuation in an interview in November.

“I always said we’re going to continue [the Penguin’s] story,” Matt Reeves recently told Esquire.

“Initially, the idea was to continue it in the next film (The Batman Part II). And then when we were talking about doing shows, I was talking to [The Batman producer] Dylan Clark and [HBO heads] Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey,” he went on.

“Casey said, ‘Look, I just want to say, I hope you’re not going to save the marquee characters for just the movies. This is HBO.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, let me tell you what this kind of Scarface-esque story is.’ It isn’t his origin story. It’s sort of like Batman’s story—the way that I did it—because there’d been so many origin tales. It’s the early days; it’s the origins of all of the rogues’-gallery characters.”

Also in November, the showrunner said it’s not out of the question.

A new interview from The Direct with showrunner Lauren LeFranc is the first time Season 2 has been addressed.

“I mean, we put it all out on the table. I think that in order to do a second season, we have to feel like we can top ourselves. We have to feel like there’s something more there to really dig into. I mean, I really care about all these characters, even if they’re terrible people,” she said.

“It’s been a joy to write them, even though they’re twisted and complicated and weird and darkly funny. So look, I think Gotham City is just such a fun sandbox to play, and I’d love to keep playing in it, but I think it just has to be the right thing. We should never do anything just to do it.”

By December, Matt Reeves confirmed that conversations are happening about Season 2.

“Yeah, we’re talking to [showrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] about doing another season. That was a special experience. I just feel really fortunate. These characters don’t belong to me; they belong to the world. It comes down to whether you can approach them in a way that expresses something personal,” he said, via Variety.

However, it’s not so clear if Colin Farrell would even want to return for Season 2.

When asked about reprising his role for a second season, he told Total Film: “I don’t know, man. Don’t get me wrong – I loved it – but it got in on me a little bit. By the end of it, I was bitching and moaning to anyone who would listen to me that I f-cking wanted it to be finished.” Find out what else he said about the idea.

It all started when Elon retweeted another tweet talking about Tesla stock after the election, where he has been supporting President-elect Donald Trump. He was also named by Trump to co-lead a new department under his administration.

Elon‘s post on X/Twitter featured a Jonas Brothers gif of Nick and Kevin Jonas turning a table as Joe Jonas walks in. The moment famously comes from one of the brothers’ old skits, where Joe then says, “Oh how the tables have turned.” They recreated it after reuniting in 2019.

“My, how the tables have turned! 😂,” Elon posted.

Nick saw the post and reposted it, quoting, “Take us to the Year 3000,” along with a photo of Elon pointing.

This, however, did not sit well with many fans of Nick‘s, given Elon‘s unwavering support of Donald Trump.

There were other fans who tried to see another side of Nick‘s post.

Criminal Minds: Evolution and Friday Night Lights fan favorite star Zach Gilford is showcasing a concerning medical issue, which thankfully seems to be getting better (according to his latest update!)

The 42-year-old actor posted a series of photos to his Instagram Story showing his face undergoing some severe swelling.

“Good thing we wrapped @criminalminds last week,” he captioned one of the images. A few hours later, he uploaded a new image that showed that the swelling had gone down some, with a new caption, “Thanks to all the nurses, doctors, and staff at @huntingtonhospital for coaxing my face back to normalcy….still a little ways to go.”

He did not say why he had been experiencing swelling to that degree, though WebMD says often allergies or medications can be to blame. We hope Zach continues to improve!

Ariana explained to Variety, “I feel so grateful to the acting, and I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life, but I don’t see it coming anytime soon. It’s official – Sergio “Checo” Perez is no longer an Oracle Red Bull Racing driver in Formula 1.

The 34-year-old Mexican F1 driver joined the team in 2021 and over a week after the final race of the 2024 season, and months of rumors and speculation, he and the team have announced they have part ways.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise to many as Checo has had a lackluster second half of the season, only scoring nine points in the last eight grands prix of the year. He came in eighth in the drivers championship this year, his worst placement since joining the team.

Throughout his time with Red Bull, Sergio picked up five wins and 29 podiums, helping the team secure its first 1-2 in the drivers championship, and helping them win the constructors championship in 2022 and 2023.

Who will replace Sergio and race alongside Max Verstappen in 2025? That’s between their two Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team drivers, Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson.

Nicholas Galitzine is clearly preparing for his big role as He-man, because he looks super buff already!

The 30-year-old The Idea of You actor uploaded a photo of himself to his Instagram Story on Wednesday (December 18), standing next to a Christmas tree looking like he’s put on a considerable amount of muscle for the upcoming role.

If you didn’t know, Nicholas was cast in Amazon MGM’s live-action Masters of the Universe, directed by Travis Knight.

Masters centers on “Price Adam of Eternia who, thanks to his Power Sword, turns into He-Man and is embued with superhuman strength and abilities, which he uses to defend his native planet and Castle Grayskull,” via THR.

It’s set for worldwide theatrical release on June 5, 2026.

Mattel’s Masters of the Universe brand was first introduced in 1982 in the form of action figures. In 1983, the beloved animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe arrived. A Masters movie has had a long development history in Hollywood, with Noah Centineo previously taped to play He-Man when the film was at Netflix.

No, it’s not based on a true story, but La Palma is very much real and the tsunami theory has been explored before by scientists.

La Palma is a real place viewers can visit: it’s one of the Canary Islands, a group of Spanish islands off the coast of northwest Africa in the Atlantic Ocean.

It’s also nicknamed the “Isla Bonita” (“beautiful island”), via People.

The theory that collapsing volcanoes could create “mega-tsunamis” was previously explored: in 2001, an academic paper was published that suggested the possibility of the La Palma volcano collapsing and causing tsunami waves up to 80 feet high along the east coasts of North and South America, via U.S. Geographical Society.

However, ocean floor mapping and tsunami modeling simulations show that volcano collapses happen in increments rather than in one piece. Therefore, if La Palma’s volcano did collapse, the USGS theorizes that the waves would more likely be between 3 and 7 feet high by the time they hit the United States.

A volcano also erupted recently there: La Palma’s Cumbre Vieja volcano erupted in September of 2021, marking the first major eruption on the island in 50 years, the New York Times reports.

It lasted 85 days and 8 hours, the longest eruption ever recorded in the island’s history, via NPR.

There were no fatalities, but 7,000 people were evacuated, and over 3,000 properties were destroyed, along with hundreds of acres of banana plantation farmland via BBC, and residents who remained on the island were forced to stay inside due to toxic gas from molten rock that leaked into the ocean.

In addition to 2021, the volcano also erupted in 1949 and 1971. The last tremors from the eruption were felt on December 13, 2021.

Cara Delevingne is Elton John in the music video for “Step Into Christmas”!

The new music video for the hit Christmas track reimagines what it was like behind the scenes of the iconic original 1973 video, starring the 32-year-old model and actress.

In the visual, the clip’s video production team tries to get the set ready for Elton‘s arrival, concerned about making it “Christmassy enough.” The preparations turn chaotic as they grab a turkey on the loose, fail to book a reindeer, and tackle a deranged fan who crashes the set.

“I saw Cara at Glastonbury last summer, and we talked about how much we’d love to work together if the right idea came up. She’s hilarious to spend time with; we both have quite a self-deprecating sense of humor. When someone suggested the idea of her playing me in a riff on the 1973 ‘Step Into Christmas’ video, I just thought it was the perfect opportunity. Thank God Cara thought the same because it came out great,” Elton said.

Melina Kanakaredes is joining as a guest star!

The Resident actress will make a guest appearance in the midseason premiere episode.

She will be playing the owner of Parker’s favorite bakery, via TV Insider.

Here’s more: “In the episode, titled ‘Baker’s Man,’ after NCIS learns that the owner of Parker’s favorite bakery is being blackmailed, they hatch a plan to save her. Plus, tensions heighten when Torres’ (Wilmer Valderrama) secret romance is discovered.”

Rocky Carroll, who plays NCIS Director Leon Vance, directed the episode!

As far as her role, executive producer Steven D. Binder opened up to TV Insider about Melina‘s guest appearance.

“We talk about archetype, our dream character, and she was the name on the board when we were breaking the story. She’s a ton of fun. Parker, I think, has a little crush on his baker. We’ll finally get to see Parker buy some pastries. We’ll see where some of them come from. I’ve always been of the mind that half of them come from some expat who owns a gas station and happens to sell these mother country pastries. But this one he actually is going to buy from a legit pastry shop. She’s going to, how do I put this? She might not be a good guy.”

And she may have a storyline that will continue beyond a guest spot!

“The original plan was just the one episode, but she was so great that we have a board of people who, let’s see if we can bring this person back. So it’s just the one episode planned, but she’s certainly someone we’d love to see again,” he teased.

Travis Kelce might be retiring!

The 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end hinted at a possible retirement from the NFL during the latest New Heights podcast episode.

Travis was discussing his latest game on Wednesday’s episode (December 18), and talking about playing in Cleveland when his team took on the Browns.

“I just love that city, man. It was so fun,” he told Jason Kelce.

“When we flew in, I felt like a tour guide. I was telling everybody every single city that we were going past, every monument, every building,” he added of his hometown.

Travis said he has “an appreciation” for how he and Jason grew up in Cleveland and “the fun” that they had.

“It’s so crazy to drive to the stadium [Huntington Bank Field]. I had crazy flashbacks of going to — you know, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is right there on the same block, as well as the Science Center,” he went on.

“Silly memories … were going in and out of my mind. And it felt so surreal. I don’t know if it’s the last time I’ll ever play in Cleveland, but it kinda felt like I was just giving it one last hurrah before I’m done because I’ve only played there twice in 12 years.”

Travis said he does not see himself playing in his hometown again unless the Chiefs “get thrown down there” in the next couple of years.

“It was just a special day for me, personally, man,” he went on to say.

Hallmark is debuting their first dating reality TV show, Small Town Setup!

The network just released the first trailer for the upcoming series, set to arrive on January 2, 2025 on Hallmark+.

The Hallmark+ original will be hosted by Ashley Williams, best known for How I Met Your Mother, The Jim Gaffigan Show and Good Morning Miami.
