We all love a ragtag group of lovable misfits getting together to stand up against immeasurable odds. That’s one of the larger appeals to movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Mighty Ducks. Suicide Squad is DC’s attempt to make one of those movies. So, did they succeed? Batman is probably the single superhero that has had the most iterations through film and animation. From, Adam West to Ben Affleck, we’ve seen a wide array of The Dark Knight. Now, with the animated Batman: The Killing Joke, a great ensemble has come together to adapt the classic comic that was originally written by Alan Moore. Chris, Alex, and special guest, Aaron, have combined forces to give you a Roundtable review on this new animated DC film.

Space. A realm of infinite possibility. And some awesome stories. Some of our favorite franchises take place in space. Mass Effect. Star Wars. And that other “Star” one. What’s it called? Whatever. Reboots are like ghosts: something that has long since been dead coming back in what is often a paler, hollower form. Granted, there are the ones that are an exception, like Mad Max: Fury Road or The Thing. However, most of the time these ghosts should be… busted. So, the question is: which category does the new Ghostbusters fall into? Well, Chris and Alex did a Rountable review to tell you just that.

Here we go. Almost 20 years later, we finally get a sequel to the summer blockbuster, Independence Day. It’s a movie that seems like it has been talked about for years now, and that many of us abandoned any hope in getting. However, the time has finally come, and Chris and Alex are  giving you a Roundtable review of Independence Day: Resurgence. Will this long await sequel go off like a rocket in the sky, or will it be a dud that fizzles out. I made firework references because, you know, America and stuff.

So it finally came out: the Warcraft movie. It’s the movie based off the MMORPG that defined a decade, and it seems like it took a decade to make. So, of course, Chris and Alex had to do a Roundtable review on it. And here it is. Give it a listen, won’t you?

Video game movies have had a shaky past. That’s probably the most diplomatic way I can put that. However, Hollywood continues to put them out. Chris, Adam, and Alex have, and they will share that with you today. Furthermore, Chris and Alex did the extra credit assignment and will be doing a presentation on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The rest of the curriculum for today will be the latest news in movies, including the future of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Zombieland 2 moving forward, which movies are becoming TV shows, and vice versa. Get ready to take some notes.

Once in a while a podcast comes and shakes the very foundations of humanity. It makes people look inwardly and reevaluate their very being. Some may see this as an end to the old ways. Others… Others see this as a dawn of a new era. This is not that podcast. Actually, in retrospect, a podcast has probably never done that. What this episode does do, however, is give our listeners a more in-depth look at Destiny. We also go into gaming and movie news, such as Xbox One sales in Japan, what to expect from the new X-men movies, and Avengers 3 possibly being a two-parter.

It’s that time again! We got another episode of The Lost Level coming your way. There is a lot for us to be excited about in this episode. Alex’s favorite game of 2013, Gone Home, becomes a map in Counter-Strike, Deadpool is officially in the works for a full-fledged movie, and the Bourne Series is kicking it into high gear. This is news that makes us happy. We hope it makes you happy too.

Tangents on tangents on tangents! Sometimes we here at Lost Level get excited and carried away with stuff.  Occasionally, we get a little side-tracked with what we were originally talking about. It happens to everybody. Like, one time I had this dog that would love to play fetch, so every Sunday we would go in the back a play fetch for an hour or so with a tennis ball. We wouldn’t use the good tennis ball of course, because my tennis coach would get mad at me if I did that. One time he even… Wait… What were we talking about? Oh yeah! Tangents! We go on a lot of those this episode. So, I can kinda tell you what we talked about this episode, but it won’t be 100% accurate. We go into the Ouya and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Then we just go into  a bunch of comic book movie news that sort of becomes one weird heap of  interconnected thoughts that still makes sense. It’s entertaining to say the least. Welcome to another episode of The Lost Level. Yes, it’s been a few weeks since our last episode, but I feel like you guys should be getting use to our little breaks by now. I’m sure you have all learned to sleep at night  knowing that we may miss a few weeks here and there.

Anyways, This week in the video game and movie news front we talk about Titanfall sales, PlayStation 4 sales, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Nintendo being Nintendo, a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel (yes, that’s becoming a thing), the future of Die Hard, and Marvel Studio’s next potential TV series. Don’t say we never gave you anything.

Yo. It’s been a long time since we’ve done one of these, but we have got a new Round Table for you. For those of you who aren’t in the know: our Round Tables are SPOILER FILLED reviews of movies and games. Let this serve as one of the many warnings we will give you regarding that manner. Sadly, Alex started to feel a little left out, so Chris discussed “300: Rise of an Empire” with him. Of course, the whole crew got to discuss the latest news in video games and movies. Why is The Lost Level Episode 68 coming out after Episode 69? If you think it’s because Alex can’t do math, you’re half right. Alex’ inability to do math has nothing to do with the episode order. It’s just an obstacle he has to overcome. The truth of the matter Chris got busy, and couldn’t edit them in order. This episode was made several weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean we love it any less. One day when Alex or Adam figure out the password to Chris’ computer you might start seeing lost episodes randomly popping up. Chris seems to hoard them like a mad man. Seriously, you should see all the news clipping he has pinned up connecting Lost Level articles to an underground race of lizard men. In this episode some of the news might be old, but its still a good listen if you value the opinions of the Lost Levelers!

Hey, remember when we had a podcast? Those were the good ol’ days. We were feeling kind of nostalgic, so we decided to actually post another podcast. Craziness! Alright, so what can you expect from this episode. Well, the crew weighs in on the latest “second screen” technology that has been more an more prevalent in the video game industry, especially with the next generation of consoles. Also, Chris and Alex  tell you about their experience with Saints Row IV. From there, we give you the latest news in video games and movies. Ah. It’s just like riding a bike. There’s reminiscing over Killer Instinct, Adam and Alex gush over their crazy experiences with the Battlefield 4 beta, and the whole crew geeks out over how much they’ve been enjoying Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and act as if it were our own little dirty secret, but don’t worry. You know: that part where we do our podcast, because we have nothing else to do with our pathetic, miserable lives then to tell you what we think should be going on in the video game industry and Hollywood. The rest of the internet does it, so why shouldn’t we? It’s not like anyone is actually listening to us anyways. *deep sigh*

This week we give a SPOILER filled discussion of Kick-Ass 2. That title sounds like what happened to me every lunch period in high school… and during my current job’s lunch break. We also talk about the latest news in video games and movies. There’s cyber bullying (something I know about all to well) in the video game industry by stupid, jock-head fans. The Kinect is no longer required to be connected to the Xbox One, probably because even my video game console doesn’t want to look at me. Bruce Willis is tired of action movies, just like my parents are tired of me living with them. Listen now, or don’t. Whatever. You’ll probably make fun of me regardless.

Their unique brand of satire targets corporate culture and consumerism, and is usually wrapped up in a dark but whimsical sense of impending doom. The show is set in a post-apocalyptic near-future, where climate change has turned the skies stormy and the landscape into a vast frozen tundra and the city of Hartford has been taken over by a totalitarian insurance company.
