So I’ve just recently completed building a website for a friend of my boss’s. While not entirely from scratch I made extensive changes to the Alpine Theme authored by the very friendlyAndrew Revitt who I must thank for graciously answering all my questions when I contacted him.

The website I built was for the new Meet Me at Père Lachaise Guidebook and iPhone App. Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris is the world’s most visited cemetery but surprisingly there has not been a Guidebook to its historic residents until now.

This website features some great WordPress plugins including Nicasio’s Dynamic Headers which allows you to easily apply different header images to different pages. While building this website I learned a lot about coding as well as the WordPress system. It can make your life quite easy and sometimes quite difficult. I had my first encounter, and then many others to follow, with browser compatibility issues. First with Safari breaking the menu into two lines, then with Firefox adding unwanted boxes around all of my linked images.
