From poor performance and lack of scalability to limited usability and lack of developer features, DApp developers have been challenged when it comes to getting their DApps to market and building real DApps that not only work for early adopters but real everyday users.

ABT Node

ArcBlock’s ABT Node is the foundation of the ArcBlock Platform and solves the challenges of building DApps by giving developers everything they need to build highly scalable, end-to-end experiences for real-world users. ABT Node includes built-in decentralized identity and ready-made apps and components with ArcBlock’s unique Blocklets. The ABT Node platform is cloud-native and with its unique distributed architecture can be deployed anywhere including in the cloud, on-premise, or locally on any device. For developers, the ArcBlock platform is always free and includes every feature, such as:

An integrated blockchain framework

Decentralized Identity

Built-in DApp runtime

Service Gateway

Blocklet Marketplace

Logging

Integrations

Team management

Blocklets

While ABT Node is the foundation of the ArcBlock platform, Blocklets are the key building blocks that make building DApps easy by giving developers ready-made software that includes compiled code and any necessary dependencies needed. Blocklets are serverless and can be one-click installed from Blocklet Marketplace in ABT Node.

With Blocklets, developers can use one Blocklet or connect Blocklets together in a few steps to quickly build and deploy DApps and components, or easily extend the functionality of their ABT Node for their production DApps.

Every ABT Node dev environment includes access to ArcBlock’s decentralized Blocklet Marketplace where developers can get free and paid Blocklets from popular vendors including:

Blockchain Manager to create and deploy ArcBlock powered blockchains

Amazon Web Services Quantum Ledger Database giving users the ability to use QLDB as a data source for ABT Node

Node Launcher to easily provision additional nodes on demand

DID:Connect to run your own decentralized identity backed login and authentication service for apps and websites

A Uniswap deployer Blocklet to run your own Uniswap as a blocklet

And many more

In addition to installing and using Blocklets from the marketplace, developers and teams can easily build and register their blocklets for their projects or to resell in the marketplace to other developers.

Get Started

With today’s release, ArcBlock has launched a new “Getting Started” portal that enables new users to get started with ArcBlock fast. Developers can launch ABT Node using a single command from their developer computer, or “one-click deployment” in the cloud using AWS or their own infrastructure with ArcBlock’s ready-made cloud images.

ArcBlock also showcases other ways to start developing, testing, and deploying the ArcBlock platform including the new “One-click to deploy” Docker playground, and the latest cloud-based development tools, such as Gitpod, Github’s Codespace, or how to launch a blocklet directly from Github.

About ArcBlock

ArcBlock is transforming how blockchain-enabled applications and services are developed, managed, and deployed by reimaging how these services will be created in the years ahead. ArcBlock comprises a team of industry experts, developers, technologists, and leaders who are focused on creating successful outcomes by enabling teams and businesses to develop blockchain-ready services around their needs. ArcBlock has created a powerful but easy-to-use development platform that utilizes blockchain’s power in combination with cloud computing that allows developers and businesses to achieve their goals successfully.

2020–11–02

ArcBlock announces a new partnership with PoulSAT, a leading communications, and internet company based in Maryland, to bring blockchain-enabled DApps and tokenized services to Africa.

ArcBlock, a leading blockchain development platform provider for DApps and blockchain services, has officially announced a partnership with PoulSAT to bring its platform and tokenization services into Africa.

By partnering with PoulSAT, ArcBlock is expanding the availability of its DApp platform and blockchain-enabled services across Africa.

Today, PoulSAT and ArcBlock have already delivered complete end-to-end experiences for African businesses and users by not only providing the necessary infrastructure and networking but ready-made tokenization and blockchain capabilities through ArcBlock’s innovative ABT Node and Blocklets. Unlike traditional blockchain platforms, ArcBlock’s platform avoids the traditional vendor lock-in and enables African businesses and vendors to easily run these new blockchain-enabled digital services on the infrastructure of their choice including cloud, on-premise, or locally.

In addition, customers and users can utilize ArcBlock’s decentralized identity wallet and one-click Blocklets to easily add new services and capabilities with minimal effort.

PoulSAT and ArcBlock began working together in late 2019 with an emphasis on enabling African businesses to evolve their offerings by giving them access to easy-to-use capabilities that allow them to deliver innovative, secure, and compliant solutions, as well as ready-made tokenized solutions that empower local businesses and consumers. PoulSAT and ArcBlock are successfully bringing to market digital wallets, tokenization, enhanced digital payments and newly launched digital office and point of sale solutions, among others.

“Africa is becoming more connected, more technologically savvy, and more mobile. As a result, institutions, merchants, and individuals are looking for new and innovative ways to engage their users and leverage tokenization across their channels and devices. By working with ArcBlock, we are enabling our customers to bring entirely new digital and tokenized experiences to life and giving users access to technologies that were previously unavailable. Using nothing more than a mobile device, end-users can leverage a vendor’s entire ecosystem of digital services, make payments, and easily interact with friends and family,” said Ildevert Digbeu, CEO of Poulsat.

“At ArcBlock, we believe in partnerships that enable transformative experiences. By working with PoulSAT, we now have a strategic partner who is delivering digital transformation across Africa and also has a deep understanding of the local environment. By working together, we are focused on delivering ongoing innovation that empowers local and regional communities. Whether it is launching new 5G networking services, or enabling users to leverage digital payments and verifiable credentials, PoulSAT and ArcBlock together can make a difference in people’s lives,” said Robert Mao, CEO of ArcBlock.

Since September, ArcBlock has released multiple updates to it’s ABT Node platform and continues to successfully onboard companies across a wide range of industries onto its platform including supply chain, cybersecurity, identity, government, and more. Users can one-click install apps, blockchains, developer tools, and more to enable them to deploy blockchain nodes, smart contracts, application logic, and more with zero hassle.

Deploy ABT Node on Amazon Web Services

Starting today, ABT Node 1.0 is available on the Amazon Web Services marketplace By offering ABT Node on AWS, developers and teams get cloud-native building blocks to build and optimize their projects. ABT Node is a fully decentralized web node, hardened runtime, and directly integrates with other AWS services. Developers can find additional information about ABT Node here: https://docs.arcblock.io/en/abtnode/introduction/how-to-get-abtnode.

ABT Node Features

ABT Node is natively designed to host DApps, websites, decentralized services, and DeFi and includes a set of features and familiar software development kit (SDK) that gives developers and teams a better way to create, deploy, and manage their software.

Blocklets: Software Building Blocks to Easily Create Apps and Blockchains

Blocklets are software building blocks designed to run independently on the ABT Node or can be combined with other Blocklets to create new functionality for any project. Each Blocklet uses a serverless design and can easily run on any infrastructure. Starting today, users can one-click install core Blocklets to create and launch interconnected blockchains, a universal explorer, ArcBlock’s did:connect identity service and Amazon Web Services Quantum Ledger Database.

Blockchain Manager: Join a Blockchain Network or Launch a Blockchain in One Click

With ABT Node 1.0, users can easily install ArcBlock’s Blockchain Manager Blocklet to create and deploy blockchains in a single click. Each blockchain is automatically interoperable with other blockchains and apps built on the ArcBlock platform. Each blockchain includes a built-in atomic swap protocol to make exchanges easy. For users who want to run a node or join an existing blockchain network, they can install and run some blocklets to become a blockchain node and connect an existing blockchain network or form a new one.

Service Gateway

The new ABT Node Routing Engine is a powerful new component to let users create custom domain pathing for specific URLs and IP addresses, set reverse proxies, install SSL certificates, and set custom rules for each blocklet and service running on ABT Node.

Ready-Made Decentralized Identity (DID)

ArcBlock’s ABT Node 1.0 is the only production-ready blockchain platform that includes a built-in W3C DID compatible Decentralized Identity service. Developers and teams have instant access to tools, libraries, and reusable components to make it easy to create and use digital identities rooted in ArcBlock’s blockchains. Unlike other platforms, any decentralized identity created is automatically interoperable across all ArcBlock created networks, applications, and services. Developers can also deploy ArcBlock’s did:connect Blocklet from the marketplace to run their own decentralized identity authentication service with no external or 3rd party dependencies.

Learn More

ABT Node is the new OS of the decentralized web. Developers have a new way to create, deploy, and manage DApps and blockchains that significantly reduces the effort and time needed to build and deploy apps and blockchains. To learn more about ABT Node, or to get help with your project, visit https://www.arcblock.io.
