Lissi’s Journey in the Metaverse

Welcome to Lissi’s Journey in the metaverse! Today, we are investigating the essential role of trust infrastructure in the metaverse. Identity is the very foundation of every social interaction, regardless of where it happens. While the real world gives us humans countless glues to verify the authenticity of people or organisations we interact with, virtual worlds can be constructed, modified and faked with the press of a button. Hence, the ability to verify the authenticity of people, organisations and content is paramount to the success of the metaverse.

Over the past four years we collaborated with governments, universities and private organisations alike within IDunion to build a common trust infrastructure, which we now want to leverage to create trust in the metaverse. Our primary focus is the integration of user-friendly applications of ID-Wallets and verifiable credentials. The Neosfer Lounge in Decentraland features a dedicated use case track for Lissi, serving as a showcase to underline the practicality and effectiveness of these tools. Finally, we will wrap-up with reflections on the expedition and look into the future steps towards their widespread adoption.

ID-Wallet use cases in the Lissi Lounge — by Neosfer

The Neosfer Lounge was published at the beginning of 2023 with the objective to showcase relevant projects and investments of the company as well as host the live streaming of the expert talk Between the Towers. You can find the lounge here. We now expanded the lounge to include a dedicated track for identity use cases. Join Lissi as our protagonist, demonstrating the practical usage of ID-Wallets with the following use cases.

You can speak to our project lead Helge in the Lissi Lounge

End-user use cases: ID-Wallets are one of the key tools to build trust in the metaverse. These wallets store digital identity credentials of users, such as customer and membership cards or tickets. They can also be used to identify the real world identity of citizens to comply with know your customer (KYC) requirements, given this is required by law e.g. for opening a bank account or receiving consulting services. But the use cases are not limited to end-users.

Demonstration Case Customer Cards: A seamless onboarding process enables the user to swiftly sign up and begin exploring the Lissi Lounge — by Neosfer using an ID-Wallet app. The simple, secure onboarding process saves time and ensures one can easily authenticate the next time interacting with the company.

Easily get your demo customer card by scanning the QR-code

Organisational Use cases: How can you ensure a virtual building you enter is actually representing your favourite retailer brand? How can the company ensure that only their own employees can declare themself as company representatives to prevent fraud and phishing? The answer lies in identities for organisations “ORG-IDs” and digital employee passes. We work together with commercial registers and eIDAS qualified trust service providers to issue organisational identities as verifiable credentials to companies.

Proof your customer status to our customer service personell

The institutional trust we bring to the metaverse serves as corner-stone to enable business driven use cases and trusted interactions. By facilitating reliable identity verification, we move a crucial step towards a trusted and secure metaverse. Using ID-Wallets in the metaverse gives users the required confidence to explore, interact, and transact in the virtual world. The wallets can also help users maintain control over their relationships as well as transparency of their interaction history.

Christian from the Neosfer Team as verified Employee behind the bank counter

Demonstration Case Employee Pass: Within the Lissi Lounge you might be lucky and encounter a real person behind the service desk. Given it’s a real employee of Neosfer there will be the name and the role of the person illustrated on top of the person.

There is also an additional use case within the lounge. However, you will need to take a look yourself to find out more about it ;). Would you like to implement your own metaverse use case? We would love to hear from you via our contact form.

Outlook & Next steps

Currently the integration is a mere showcase and lacks the real world benefits of a pilot use case. Hence, the next steps for us is to integrate the credential workflow with real data for the customer cards and build a holistic story for the customer service representatives together with interested partners. While we focused on the technical integration, we now have to pay attention on use case benefits and UX in the second step. This will also include the task to beautify our lounge ;)

In today’s world, communication and trust are critical, and secure communication plays a massive role in building that trust. With this in mind, we have developed a new messaging feature that unlocks the true potential of the combination of identity credentials and messaging. In this article, we will explore the benefits of messaging for organisations and their clients, the reasons behind the creation of the messaging feature, and an overview of the feature itself.

GIF of the user flow in the Lissi wallet including messaging.

The Power of authenticated communication channels

In the digital age, we often encounter people and organisations online before meeting them in person, and establishing trust is paramount in forming these relationships. Authentication plays a crucial role in building that trust, as it helps confirm that the person or organisation you are communicating with is genuine. Our Lissi Wallet’s new messaging feature enables organisations to use authenticated communication channels to form trusted relationships with their clients.

A man checking his contacts and their last messages within the Lissi identity Wallet

Benefits of a messaging feature for end-users and organisations

We believe there are several reasons to introduce a messaging feature in the Lissi Wallet app from the perspective of end-users:

Enhanced trust and security: Once a user accepts an authenticated organisation as new contact in the Wallet the encrypted and private channel prevents phishing and spam.

Context: Messages provide valuable context about offered or requested credentials. Receiving a credential without knowing where to use it is quite useless.

Convenience: By seamlessly integrating messaging within the app, users can receive messages without switching between different platforms. This creates a more cohesive and efficient user experience.

Being informed: Be it an update to a product or service, a user account, order status or upcoming events. Users are always informed about the most important topics with a particular organisation.

No phone numbers or email address required: To receive messages from organisations, customers do not have to provide a telephone number or an email address, and if they no longer wish to receive messages, they can just delete the connection. It’s as easy as that!

From an organisational perspective there are plenty of good reasons, but here are the most important ones:

Trusted relationship: As an organisation you provide the necessary trust to your clients so they can be sure the message is authentic, secure and confidential.

Attention: Getting the attention of your target audience, by triggering a push notification on their phone greatly increases the likelihood a client will read your message and engage in your offer.

Conversion: A guided user flow ensures a high conversion rate by providing all the necessary information.

Customer loyalty: Retain your customers by strengthening your customer engagement and access to your services with a digital wallet.

Secure P2P-messages: Send confidential messages and documents to customers instead of providing these in your internal postbox.

Overview of the New Messaging Feature

The new messaging feature in the Lissi Wallet app is illustrated as a chat within the wallet. This chat also includes credential related activities such as credential offers or information requests.

A woman receiving credentials and information and from a Music Festival within her Lissi identity wallet.

The messaging feature in the Lissi Wallet app is currently limited to uni-directional communication. This means users can only receive messages, but not send them. While this sounds limiting at first, it ensures organisations can focus on providing value without being overwhelmed with individual customer requests.

Getting Started with the Messaging Feature

To make use of the messaging feature as an organisation you can follow these steps:

Fill out our contact form in 1 minute.

Get a free Lissi SaaS Agent for test purposes

Get the Lissi Wallet (iOS, Android)

Create a trusted connection between your agent and wallet and be creative about your use case.

In conclusion, with the Lissi Wallet’s new messaging feature, organisations can further tailor their communication channels, creating a more personalised and professional experience for their clients. By utilising the messaging feature, organisations can build stronger relationships with their clients, ultimately enhancing trust and customer satisfaction.

Should you have a feature request from a user or organisational perspective for our new messaging feature you can fill out our Lissi Wallet feedback form. PDFs are a widely used format for sharing important information, but the ease with which they can be altered leaves room for fraud and misrepresentation. This has led to a demand for a more secure way of sending and receiving PDF documents. Enter Lissi and its ID-Wallet solution for verifiable PDFs.

Lissi is a cutting-edge digital identity platform that enables organisations to establish trusted relationships, and send and receive verifiable credentials, including PDFs. With Lissi, the integrity and authenticity of your documents are ensured, eliminating the need for lengthy verification processes. In this blog post, we will delve into the challenges associated with verifying PDF documents, the benefits of using verifiable PDFs within your organisation, and how this technology is integrated into the Lissi Wallet.

This technology is a game-changer for organisations, which deal with sensitive information and want to secure their customer relationship. In this article, we will focus on the Lissi Agent, which organisations use to interact with ID-Wallets such as the Lissi Wallet.

The Challenge with Verifying PDF Documents

Verification processes of PDF documents can be time-consuming and cumbersome, often involving multiple steps to ensure the authenticity of a document. This can lead to delays and increased costs for organisations, hindering their ability to operate efficiently. Furthermore, these processes are not foolproof, and there is always a risk of human error or oversight, potentially exposing organisations to fraud and other risks.

In a world where trust is paramount and speed is essential, these challenges have created a pressing need for a more secure, efficient, and reliable way to verify PDF documents. Our verifiable PDF feature addresses these challenges head-on, offering a solution that is both user-friendly and highly secure.

Using Verifiable PDFs in your organisation:

The Lissi Wallet with showing interactions with verified contacts and verifiable PDF documents.

Employee documents: Provide your employees with verifiable documents about their income, benefits, certifications or accounting documents.

Public reporting: Provide verifiable annual reports, financial statements, management reports, auditors reports and much more.

Contracts: Provide your clients with legal certainty by providing them with verifiable insurance, sales, service, or warranty contracts.

Project milestones and protocols: Automatically send members of a project team updates and protocols into their wallet.

Confidential documents: Provide your shareholders with verifiable documents such as shareholder agreements, board meeting minutes or executive compensation plans.

Benefits of using Lissi for verifiable documents:

Seamless Integration

A verifiable PDF is seamlessly integrated as an attribute of a verifiable credential, providing an intuitive and user-friendly experience. Recipients can easily access and manage their verifiable PDFs within the Lissi Wallet. When requested by an organisation, the document is automatically pre-selected waiting for explicit consent to be presented to a requesting entity.

Robust Security

Security is a top priority for Lissi, and this extends to the verifiable PDF feature. State-of-the-art cryptography ensures that the authenticity and integrity of documents are maintained throughout the entire process, protecting organisations and their data from fraud and tampering.

Interoperable and Standards-Based

Our integration of verifiable PDF is built on open standards, ensuring interoperability with a wide range of digital identity solutions and platforms. This means that organisations can confidently adopt the technology, knowing that it will work seamlessly with existing systems and meet industry requirements.

Step-By-Step Guide on How to Send and Receive Verifiable PDFs

To get started with sending and receiving verifiable PDFs using Lissi, follow these simple steps:

Setup your company agent
Request a free Lissi Agent and set up your company agent according to your needs.

Hintergrund zur Schweizer E-ID: Was bisher geschah

Bildquelle: https://www.ejpd.admin.ch/bgeid

Bildquelle: Github repository “e-id-admin”

Bildquelle: Github repository “e-id-admin”
