Quemasantos has released their new single “Planet Vampire” today on all major digital platforms worldwide, alongside the premiere of the official lyric video, now available on YouTube.

Planet Vampire is a dark homage to the horror and science-fiction cinema of the 1960s — films that later found a second life on late-night television during the 1980s. These shadowy, grain-filled broadcasts sent chills down the spines of unsuspecting children who secretly turned on the TV after bedtime, discovering forbidden worlds while their parents slept. That atmosphere of unease, imagination, and primal fear forms the core of the song’s identity.

The music for Planet Vampire was written, performed, mixed, and mastered by Ignacio Orellana, delivering a cohesive and immersive sonic experience rooted in heaviness, tension, and cinematic pacing. Vocals and the conceptual vision for the track were created by Nelson Díaz, whose narrative-driven approach reinforces the song’s connection to classic horror and sci-fi storytelling. The track also features a guest lead guitar solo by Richard Pilnik, a highly respected and versatile guitarist from the Chilean metal scene, known for his work with Warpath, Vastator, and the progressive metal band Entrance.

Reflecting on the song’s origins, Ignacio Orellana explains:

“We’re finally releasing this track, which has been in the can since the very beginning. In fact, Planet Vampire was the very first song I wrote for this second incarnation of Quemasantos. As I’ve been saying over the past few months, I just wanted to focus on playing bass this time around. When I started this new phase, everything began with the bass, and from there the entire song grew around it.

Overkill, Megadeth, Judas Priest, and Accept were some of the clearest influences during the writing process, and I think that comes through in the final result. I hope everyone enjoys it. There’s a lot more music coming next year. Wishing everyone a great end to the year.”

Nelson Díaz adds perspective on the song’s conceptual roots:

“B-movie cinema from directors like Corman, Bava, or Fulci terrified me as a child. Today it can even make me laugh, but those childhood feelings are still there.”

Complementing the audio release, the official lyric video expands the song’s universe through visuals inspired by classic genre cinema, embracing grainy textures, heavy shadows, and an unsettling, retro atmosphere that mirrors the track’s dark tone.

In the past, Sr. Diaz has always come up with the concepts for the music I’ve been writing. This time, I asked him to work under my concept, which was based on what I was experiencing at the time (which was during the time before my wife’s passing).

He kindly agreed to do it, and I’m just happy with the way he performed and used all the material I gave him. He’s a true friend and a master of metal interpretation. I love him.

Burning the black is an analogy to the process of receiving chemotherapy, which burns the cancer cells in the body. The concept for the track came to me while watching my wife fight cancer for six years, which tragically ended with her dramatic death.

The lyrics are narrated from the perspective of death, constantly reminding you that it will take you and that no matter what you do, it’s inevitable.

The music encapsulates the life cycle of a person, beginning with the gradual and transformative changes life brings and concluding in a manner reminiscent of its inception.

On a personal note, this has been a brutal and devastating time, as well as strange to lose my life partner of 31 years. It still feels unreal. This song is essentially what I can translate from the experience of being there next to her and witnessing her decline from good to bad. I genuinely hope that people can understand it the way I’m trying to convey it. I loved my wife, and she will always be with me.

Our guest musician for this track was Felipe Roa, the lead guitarist for metal bands Acaro and Shadows Fall. With extensive studio recording and touring experience, Roa has also owned and operated Boston Guitar Tech, providing professional services such as guitar setups, fretwork, electronics, and online and in-person lessons.

The music of this track was written and perform in its entirely by Ignacio Orellana and the lyrics, vocals and overall concept was conceived by Nelson Diaz. The guest musician on this track was Marco Cusato (Warpath, Somberwind), who performed the guitar solo.

'Stalking Sharks' is about an allegory of war that clouds the mind and stains the vision red due to the absence of reason and uncontrollable desire to kill.

This is our first track in English since we started this project in 2012 with Spanish lyrics, but we have switched our mindset since we have the ability to do so and now we are going to be delivering more and more music this way.

‘ I needed to go back to the hard side of thrash (direct and straight to the point), and of course… if it was made with friends that lived the genre in its splendor, even better. ‘Stalking Sharks’ includes a pretty stellar guest which is Mr. Marco Cusato, legendary guitarist/vocalist of the band Warpath. This track reunites members of Warpath, Vastator & Pirosaint. I really had fun working with them doing this’.

‘After the pandemic, we faced a new challenge, suddenly no one have time to continue to work on our project, so I just took the matter in my own hands and I have been working harder to make it happen. QUEMASANTOS premiering ‘Arcangel 6’ lyric video tomorrow

Quemasantos will premier the video lyric for the symphonic version of the track 'Arcángel 6', that was originally included on their self-titled album released via Digmetalworld and distributed by MVD in the United States in 2022.

The new version of ‘Acangel 6’ is a dark and intense mix, which this time features the special participation of Melhaller, a composer who since 2016 has given life to his solo project that fuses symphonic metal with occultism and mystical systems. Arcangel 6, symphony version was remixed and remastered by Ignacio Orellana at Oily Sound Studios in New York City. The concept art was created by Rob Diaz.

MELHALLER -formerly Patricio Melhaller- is a self-taught composer of symphonic metal, dark neoclassical and industrial music from Santiago, Chile. 'Second Hand Blood' contains 4 tracks that were recorded during the time that he was in the band. Around that time, Pirosaint went out and play live in many locations throughout Upstate NY supporting Death Angel, Marc Rizo, Static X, Alekhine's Gun and more. All the music was included on the album 'Know Thyself' released in 2021, but the lyrics were adapted by Billy Vanders to fit its intentions and capabilities when they were recorded back in 2016.

'An intimate and dark piece that subtly appeals to ancestral horrors'.

Drummer Ignacio Orellana have commented:

'We wanted to say goodbye to this year with a small video for our acoustic track which is a departure from our hard hitting sound. Here we wanted to explore the classic acoustic instrumental sound of the guitar of those thrash metal tracks of the 80's and have it accompanied with images of a rainy night in the city. We felt that as a band we were influenced by them sounds and we just wanted to make sure we have something to remember those marvelous years of thrash metal.'

Guitarist Regisson 'Reggie' Silva commented:

'Sometimes we all have some kind of deep and dark feelings inside. Those moments you can't find any sense, you lose your hope, your dreams. We all have this and from time to time it comes out again.

It was in one of these moments I decided to put it out in a song. Some deep and sad arpeggios in a minor chord came up and could translate a little bit of what i was feeling. If you can't put your bad feelings in a bunch of chords, you should at least to take a listen to this and try to spit out all this shit, or it will poisoning you from inside out.'

The video was produced by Promusicvideo, and contains images of Regisson Silva performing the track along with Sr. Diaz and Ignacio Orellana around the city.

SACRED OATH drops video featuring Mercenary Records NYC reunion concert

New York-based metal photographer/videographer Ignacio Orellana has posted a video of Sacred Oath performing their 80’s power metal anthem “Two Powers” filmed at the Brooklyn nightclub Sovereign back on August 27th. The band is currently performing sets of their entire 1987 debut “A Crystal Vision” as part of their 35th Anniversary concert tour.

Sacred Oath joined a reunion of three Mercenary Records bands from the late 80s including Attacker and Meanstreak for the “one night only” event hosted by Armageddon Productions. It was the first performance in more than 30 years for the all-female thrash outfit Meanstreak (currently on tour with John Petrucci) and the first time ever that all three bands shared the stage. The night took a tragic turn when Meanstreak singer Bettina Campagna France took a fall backstage and was unable to perform, much to the disappointment of fans who had traveled from out-of-state to witness the reunion.

“It was a crazy situation,” said Sacred Oath singer Rob Thorne. “The promoter was waving his arms at me from the side of the stage before the last song on our set list, and I was thinking ‘are you kidding me? You’re going to make us cut the last song when we’ve promised the whole album?’ But he was asking me to keep playing until we ran out of gas because Tina had just been rushed to the ER with a broken arm, so I just kept calling out songs and we worked our way through half of the “Darkness Visible” album as well. The rest of the band had no idea what was going on and they thought for sure a long hook was gonna come out and yank me.”

The band hired Ignacio Orellana of ProMusicVideo to shoot their set with four cameras, but ultimately scrapped the footage because of sub-standard sound and lighting at the venue.

New York City Band PIROSAINT released the lyric video for the track 'Better You Than Me', that comes off the album 'Know Thyself' released via Digmetalworld in 2021.

This is the opening track of the album and shows how the band have worked its ways around metal music to express a deeper message. Drummer Ignacio Orellana commented: ' We wanted to make a love song and from our experiences, this was what it came up. A pretty cheerful ballad about love, deceptions and frustration that we are sure everyone can relate one way or another.'

Know Thyself was recorded between 2013-2016 and 2020-2021 at Oily Sounds Studios NYC by Ignacio Orellana and is made up of new compositions, previously unreleased tracks and a special bonus for fans following PIROSAINT since their beginnings in 1989.

Originally based in Santiago, Chile, PIROSAINT joined a small but powerful and enthusiastic local heavy metal scene with bands such as Necrosis, Massacre and Criminal. After releasing two demos in 1992 and 1994, the band issued an EP called New God in 1997. Know Thyself, PIROSAINT’s long-waited debut full-length, marks the band’s second active decade.

Know Thyself’s vocal tracks were recorded by Eduardo Vidal and Andrés Valdivieso in Santiago, Chile. All guitar solos were recorded at Oily Sounds Studios by Ignacio Orellana and Angel Thorne Music CO LLC by Rob Thorne in Bethel, CT, except “Everyday’s war,” recorded by Regisson Silva in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at his home studio.

All lyrics were written by Gonzalo Rodriguez and Ignacio Orellana. All music was written by PIROSAINT except “The Debt” and “Faster than before’ by Gonzalo Rodriguez, Alfredo Vicencio and Ignacio Orellana, and “Pirosaint” by Gonzalo Rodriguez, Fransua Tapia, Paolo Maugart and Ignacio Orellana. Sacred Oath announce ‘one night only’ bill in NYC

with former Mercenary Records label mates Meanstreak and Attacker.

Currently celebrating “A Crystal Vision” with their 35th Anniversary Tour, Sacred Oath announced yesterday that they will be performing a special ‘one night only’ concert in New York with Attacker and the recently reunited all-female thrash band Meanstreak. All three bands were signed to the Mercenary Records label in 1987 and released their debut albums just prior to the label folding in 1989. This is the first time all three bands will perform on the same stage together.

“I heard about the Meanstreak reunion and reached out to Rena (Petrucci) right away,” said Rob Thorne of Sacred Oath. “I thought a ‘Mercenary Records Night’ would be a cool show, and it looks like this will be the very first show for Meanstreak in almost 30 years. We’re excited about the whole thing, all of it.”

Sacred Oath (CT), Meanstreak (NY), and Attacker (NJ) were up-and-coming bands to watch in 1988, frequently playing the NYC metro area metal clubs such as L’Amour and Streets. The Manhattan-based Mercenary Records signed each of them and released their debut albums worldwide via Celluloid before folding in 1989. Sacred Oath and Attacker have continued to perform and release albums since then, but Meanstreak broke up in 1994. A reunion was announced in early 2022.

“Of course we’ll be playing through the entire “A Crystal Vision” album at this show,” says Thorne. “The whole evening will be a trip down metal memory lane. I can’t wait.”

The show is happening Saturday August 27th 6:00 pm at Sovereign, 173 Morgan Ave in Brooklyn, NY and tickets are now on sale and available HERE.

'May is a very special month in the Torturer's camp. We have turned 33 years old and what best way to celebrate it with the music video for our classic track that started it all. Torturer is currently working on a new studio album which will be titled 'Burning Cross'. The new album is set to be launched via Australis Records in Chile during the second half of 2022. This material consistsIn a re-recording of your previous work 'Burning Cross' originally published in 2003, plus other rarities and an updated sound in terms of production.

'Burning Cross' was produced by Pablo Gudiño, who have already worked with the band in its previous studio albums, 'Conjuro IV' (2017) and the homonymous 'Torturer' (2012), at the Torture Chamber Studio. The art work was crated by Productora Medu1a, who have been recognized in the Chilean media for their graphic work in the past with the work for bands such as Kuervos del Sur and Crisalida.

WARCHEST announce new EP "Impending Corrosion".

Chilean thrash metal band WARCHEST have announced the release of the new EP album "Impending Corrosion". Which be released via Suicide Records in June this year.

The album was produced by the band and mastered by Andrew Oswald (MORTIFERUM, VANUM), while artwork was handled by Hellish Maggot (ARCH ENEMY, ENFORCED).

Christian Pelaez commented:

'In this new EP we reinvented our sound with a new twist with respect to our previous work, which was more oriented towards death/thrash. For "Impending Corrosion" we seeked inspiration in the origins of thrash and the classic records that gave life to the style, but printing our stamp in terms of production, intensity and execution.

Expect a furious overcharge of classic thrash metal'

Currently, the band is preparing a video clip for the first single "Fatal Delusion", together with the production company, Crafty Crow, who previously worked with WARCHEST on their DVD "Live at Brutal Thrash Fest" as well as other video clips of the previous productions from the band.
