On a recent trip to Charlotte, Schechter dragged his brother-in-law, Brian Saemann, out for a beer and a chat. Brian recently made the leap gainful employment to going full-time on his own business (along with his wife and brother).

In this episode, we examine the journey to self-employment, especially the steps Brian took (and those he couldn’t) to balance family responsibilities with personal passions. Being the crappy brother-in-law that he is, Schechter forces Brian to discuss the terror that accompanies the loss of a regular paycheck. Spoiler alert, it’s been worth it.

Fair warning, these early episodes will be all over the map. Over time, if this works out, we’ll look to focus in on that sweet spot between what you enjoy listening to and what we enjoy creating. In the meantime, thanks for giving our little experiment a shot.

Note: When we saw raw, we mean raw. Vardy is not using his usual mic, there are brief pauses. It’s meant to offer an unfiltered look at our thinking and motivation behind the project.
