優點：

– 極具未來感的時尚外觀設計。無論從哪個角度看，這款EV4的外觀都非常出眾，正面、側面和背面都賞心悅目。我喜歡它的線條、角度和比例，而起亞的設計團隊在打造這款EV4的外觀方面做得非常出色！

– 極具吸引力的價格。這款起亞EV4是所有品牌中最經濟實惠的電動車之一。起價僅為38,995加元（廠商建議零售價），即使是入門車型也提供了豐富的配置。即使是我試駕的頂級版本“Wind GT-Line Limited FWD”，起價也相當可觀，僅 51,995 美元。

缺點：

– 狹窄的垂直尾燈和位置極低的倒車燈可能有安全隱憂。我不明白為什麼政府不強制汽車製造商在設計尾燈時制定相關指南或安全規範。這輛起亞EV4只有一個倒車燈，而且位置非常低，在車身底部。作為駕駛員，我更喜歡在視線水平位置清晰地看到車燈，這樣我才能集中註意力，也方便後方車輛駕駛員觀察。但是，如果倒車燈位置這麼低，我怎麼可能從後面看到這輛起亞正在倒車呢？此外，兩個煞車燈都非常窄，呈垂直狀，而且向左右兩側延伸，我擔心在陽光明媚的日子裡，後方車輛駕駛員可能看不到我的EV4正在煞車。我認為這有安全隱患。

– 這輛EV4的材質看起來和摸起來都很廉價。我覺得座椅材質和塑膠件看起來都很廉價。我不知道起亞是否需要使用這些廉價材料來維持價格親民，否則，我感覺整輛車都瀰漫著一股奇怪的化學氣味或塑膠味。座椅的材質看起來摸起來都很廉價，舒適度也不高。

—後方視野不足。後窗又窄又小，視野受限，很難看清後方情況。不過，你只能更依賴它的車道變換輔助系統和360度全景影像來輔助停車或行駛。

—轉彎半徑有待改進。很多時候，我嘗試一次把這輛EV4停好，但都很難做到。它的轉彎半徑和轉彎角度不夠精準，轉彎範圍有限，很難一次把車停直。大多數情況下，我必須倒車才能把車停直。掉頭也是一樣，很難一次完成。我必須先倒車，然後再往前開才能完成掉頭。我只是希望轉彎半徑能更精確、更準確，並且半徑更大一些，以便順利轉彎。

In my opinion, no car is perfect! I think every car has its pros and cons and room for improvements.

During this entire week, I got to test drive this all-new 2026 Kia EV4 Wind GT-Line Limited FWD and here are things that I like and dislike about this all-electric compact vehicle.

Like (Pros):

– Edgy futuristic exterior design. No matter what angles you are looking at, this EV4 exterior stands out, it looks good from the front, side and rear. I luv the lines, angles, proportion, the Kia designing team did a fantastic job to make this EV4 looks awesome!

– Attractive pricing. This Kia EV4 is one of the most affordable EV among all the brands. Starting at $38,995 CDN MSRP, even the basic trim offers so much. Even my media tester at the highest trim level “Wind GT-Line Limited FWD” is starting at a respectable $51,995 MSRP

– Futuristic interior design. Luv the interior layout, from the dashboard to all the features and buttons, everything is functional and intuitive. Also really appreciate the grey colour mixed well with the white materials.

– 2-level of heated steering wheel. Not every vehicle offers heated steering wheel. When they do, it’s a turn on, turn off button. For this Kia EV4, I was amazed it offers 2-level heated steering wheel. One is warmer or less warmer, which is great!

– Amazing mileage. Depending on many factors such as whether it’s on a sub-zero winter night, or blasting high heat or air conditioning, the amount of electricity will varies especially also depending on how one individual driving habits. But overall, this EV4 ranges from 450 km to 550 km in one full charge. That’s impressive!

– NACS port to charge at Tesla supercharging stations. In the past, non-Tesla EVs will have difficulty finding a public charging stations coz the charging ports are different between Tesla and other EVs. Not any more, many recent new EVs including Kia EV4, EV6 or EV9 implemented NACS port which is what Tesla vehicles use, you can charge the aforementioned Kia vehicles at Tesla super charging stations, improving the convenience and providing more charging stations options.

– Spacious cabin. Although this Kia EV4 is described as a compact EV, but to me, this looks bigger than a compact, from outside, it looks longer and wider. Inside, the cabin seems spacious and large, offering plenty of head space and sitting space for front and rear occupants.

– Available Remote Smart Park Assist. Luv this feature and this feature was included in this Kia EV4 Wind GT-Line Limited FWD and is super handy when you are parking in tight spaces that you would have a hard time exiting or entering the EV4.

Dislike (Cons):

– Narrow vertical rear lights and very low reverse light could be a safety hazard. I don’t know why our government doesn’t impose regulations on automakers to have guidelines or safety protocols when designing rear lights. For this Kia EV4, there is only one reverse light and it’s located way below at the bottom of the EV4. As a driver, I prefer to see lights clearly and easily at my eye-level so I can concentrate and supposed to make the drivers trailing behind a lot easier. But instead, how earth can I spot this Kia is reversing from behind if it’s located super low at the vehicle? Furthermore, both brake lights are so narrow and vertical and stretched out on the far left and right that I fear during a bright sunny day that the drivers trailing behind me wouldn’t see my EV4 is braking. I think it’s a safety hazard.

– Materials look and feel cheap on this EV4. I found the seat materials and the plastic looks very cheap in this EV4. I don’t know if Kia needs to use these cheap materials in order to keep the pricing affordable, otherwise, I could smell the weird chemicals or plastic being used in this entire vehicle. The seats materials look and feel cheap and it’s not that comfortable.

– Rear visibility is lacking. The rear window is so narrow and small that it’s hard to see the back with limited visibility. Nevertheless, you will just have to rely more of its lane changing assist, 360 camera view to assist you with your parking or while the vehicle is in motion.

– Turning radius could be better. Many times, when I tried to park this EV4 in one go, it’s hard, the turning radius and turning angle is not as precise and limited range that it’s hard to park straight in one shot. Most often, I have to back out again just to pull it straight. Same goes when I want to do a U-Turn, it’s hard to do it in one go. I had to reverse and then move forward to complete the U-turn. I just wish the turning radius to be more precise, accurate and bigger radius to make the necessary turn.

Overall Summary:

These are my likes and dislikes when test driving this all-new 2026 Kia EV4. If you are a Kia EV4 owners,  what do you like or dislike about your ride?

Overall though, I think this EV4 is a good option providing a very well-balanced choice for buyers who are looking for an affordable EV compact sedan who are not necessary looking for a SUV, looking for good mileage and ease of charging the battery with leading edge technologies and styling. I think Kia is on the right track.

Last year, when I was in Seoul, South Korea, I visited a Kia experience, I saw a EV3, perhaps Kia may bring EV3 in Canada in the near future. I am very impressed on how dedicated and committed Kia Motors in providing a strong lineup of EVs that fits their potential buyers in various parts of the world. They are all-in on EVs and you could see how well their products are to its consumers.

The Remote Smart Park Assist (RSPA) is an optional feature on Kia EV4 but was included in my media fleet trim level, 2026 Kia EV4 Wind GT-Line Limited FWD. Thus, I was curious and wanted to make sure that I know how to operate this feature on the EV4 with the key fob.

It’s decently relatively easy to operate.

How to operate the Remote Smart Park Assist (RSPA):

– Ensure the EV4 is locked.
– Press “Hold” on one side of the key fob. Hold it for a few second and if you see the front/rear lights is lit, you know the RSVP is turned on.
– You can then either choose to push the “forward button” or “backward button”. If you want the EV4 to move forward (coming out of the tight parking spot), then push the “forward button”. If you want to park the EV4 into a tight space, then push “backward button”.
– Keep holding the button until you are able to open the doors or happy with where the EV4 is located. Once you no longer pressing the button, then the EV4 will stop moving.

MoVernie TIP: Before operating the RSPA, make sure there is no oncoming traffic. Make sure no kids or other human beings are around the moving EV4. Safety first!
