Ah! What a surprise this is!

Alli has been wracking her brain these last few months, trying to figure out what to do. With her recovery being less than ideal, she can’t work on pages as much as she would like.

Additionally, she can’t sit idle – doing so only results in her feeling like she’s letting people down. So she’s been trying out different art styles, different story ideas and trying to figure out how she can continue to make comics so that she can still feel like she’s capable of making people happy online (a tough goal to set, for sure). Out of My Element is too detailed for her to consistently make updates and just inking one page of it drains her for the better part of two days, so that project is probably going to be going on indefinite hiatus.

However, there is one comic that is not as detailed, still has a lot of humour and that has already gotten the tedious “beginning” part out of the way. One that she also personally connects with as a whole because of the main character.

And that would be My Hero!

I know it’s a bit of a shock and some folks would want OoME to continue over My Hero!, but we can only work with what Alli can currently handle. I, for one, just am happy to be able to work with my wife on a shared project together. Hopefully, if this helps build her constitution back up, we can look at getting more done in the future.

So don your Order of the Nine robes, brush up on your Godspeak and get ready for more tales of Has and Lark – complete with a few new things!

The current chapter has 4 updates left, which will be done wholly by Allison. Once this chapter is over, we will be having a colourist join the project so that Alli can focus on getting pages done without burning herself out too much.

So I have some good news for you My Hero! fans, Chapter 8 is going to be continuing in the new year! I’m currently working to get the end of the chapter ready and should be moving into chapter 9 after wards.

Things may be slow at times as I am still suffering from terrible migraines every other day =(

But I am looking forward to getting some My Hero! rolling again and telling more of Lark and Hass’ story. I hope you’ll come along for the ride.

Hey guys, Things have been kinda crazy the last little while. As you know I had a stroke at the end of October and that really threw things off for me, it affected my entire balance system. I’ve been getting better slowly and hope to go back to work in a few months.

I also found out when I had said stroke that I have a hole in my heart that needs to get fixed. I am currently in the process of seeing what I need to do for that to be done.

All this to say that I started thinking and realized that I missed my babies. I missed my characters who started me on this crazy comic journey. And while I had stopped because I didn’t think I could do it, I wanted to try again and keep going.

I want OoME’s story to be told so badly because it means so much to both Jim and I.

So while it may be slow at times I’m going to be re-starting up where I left off in chapter 2 of OoME in March. I have a few pages of buffer so I hope that will help and hope that everyone will be patient with me as I give this another go.

I wonder why Lark is deciding that it’s time to go. I’m sure there’s no history here. It’s fine.

At this point, I’d think Lark would prefer if the Abyssal brothers would appear!

We’re back! Alli is starting to feel better and has a bit more energy than before. She’s gotten some work done on some pages and really wanted to come back to updating My Hero!

So, here we are! back in the saddle and trudging along!

Thank you all for your patience and your time. 2023 was quite the roller coaster. Here’s hoping that 2024 is nothing but good to everyone!

Hi Everyone, a small life update. Alli had a stroke last Thursday, she’s ok but is recovering.

Due to this we will be taking a hiatus while she recovers.

Thanks to everyone for joining us again for the adventures of Lark and Hass we hope to get back to them in the new year.

No? Thank goodness. I was worried for a moment there. It’s not like this is leading up to anything at all.

Yup.

Everyone’s going to have drinks and get along just fine!
