Malaysia Welcomes Everyone: Here is the Latest Procedure to enter Malaysia with some Tips for You

Hey guys. Believe it not, because of the past lockdown, I had fallen in love more with our own beloved country, Malaysia. I explored Malaysia more than I had in the past, before the Covid-19 made their first appearance. Covid-19 has been declared as endemic for 1st April 2022 . Since then, I have had so many DMs from my fellow travel friends around the world that they are planning to visit Malaysia as they know that Malaysia has opened the border and welcomes everyone. But they are still not sure about the procedures to enter Malaysia.

Let me get clear on this matter. It is not as complicated as before if you are a fully vaccinated traveller. Trust me. I had travelled throughout the pandemic, and quarantine has become my best friend. If quarantine time substitute with flying hours as for pilots, I might be becoming a captain.

This is the procedure for travelers entering Malaysia from 1 April 2022.

(BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE)

Download “MySejahtera” app (Android/iOS)

Complete the pre-departure form via the Traveller icon on MySejahtera

If you are Fully Vaccinated: Digital Traveller’s Card will be issued

If you are Partially Vaccinated/Unvaccinated: Digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO) will be issued.

Undergo PCR test 2 days before departure for travellers 7 years and above

Travellers with previous COVID-19 infection (6-60 days before departure) are required to undergo a professional RTK-Ag test 2 days before departure

Purchase a travel and COVID-19 insurance (for non-Malaysian citizens)

(UPON ARRIVAL)

Undergo a professional RTK-Ag test within 24 hours of arrival

But if you partially or vaccinated travelers, you need a mandatory 5 days quarantine.

For RTK-Ag-test:

The professional RTK-AG gest can be done at any health facility of your choice (I will guide you on this) ** NOT ONLY at the airports ya! Can do outside also…

But, if you do not have time to do the RTK-Ag test before you fly, on arrival also available at the airport whether using COVID-19 breathalyzer or professional RTK-Ag tests.

Cost of on-arrival professional RTK-Ag test will be borne by travelers

Children aged 6 years old and below are exempted from the on-arrival test.

Sememangnya kita perlu menerima hakikat yang kita harus hidup bersama Covid-19. Hidup perlu diteruskan seperti dahulu, cumanya sekarang kita perlulah sentiasa mengikut SOP yang telah ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM).

Sepanjang pandemik Covid-19, mytravellicious telah banyak kali travel ke luar negara, menaiki beberapa pesawat, menjalani pelbagai tempoh kuarantin di berlainan tempat serta melakukan banyak ujian PCR. Namun, mytravellicious akhirnya tewas juga apabila seisi keluarga telah dijangkiti Covid-19 sekitar bulan Oktober 2021. Alhamdulillah, kini semuanya baik-baik sahaja.

Tips Travel Demi Kesihatan Dan Perlindungan Diri

Banyak negara luar telah bersedia menerima pengunjung. Malah ramai rakan-rakan mytravellicious yang dah pergi bercuti sehingga ke negara Turki, Switzerland dan sebagainya.

Bagi mytravellicious, buat masa ini adalah lebih baik untuk mengembara di dalam negara sahaja. Oh ya! Korea Selatan adalah negara yang terakhir mytravellicious lawat pada Mei 2021 yang lepas.

Ini adalah beberapa tips yang ingin mytravellicious kongsikan kepada semua pembaca sebagai persediaan untuk anda travel sama ada di Malaysia ataupun di luar negara.

Pengambilan vaksin Covid-19 dan dos penggalak. Alhamdulillah, satu keluarga mytravellicious telah lengkap divaksin beserta dos penggalak sejak awal 2022 lagi. Semua anak-anak buah juga telah mendapat 2 dos vaksin. Sewaktu kami sekeluarga disahkan positif Covid-19, syukur semuanya telah lengkap divaksin. Disebabkan itulah kami hanya mendapat simpton yang ringan sahaja. Jadi, untuk anda, sila lengkapkan pengambilan vaksin sebelum anda travel ke mana-mana. No vaksin, no travel ya!
Sentiasa patuhi SOP yang telah ditetapkan. Sentiasa menggunakan pelitup muka ketika berada di tempat awam. Hand sanitizer hendaklah sentiasa dibawa. Untuk yang travel menggunakan kapal terbang, selepas anda duduk di tempat duduk, jangan lupa lapkan ruangan meja, tali pinggang, tempat letak lengan dengan hand sanitizer.
Sentiasa jaga jarak. Walaupun di mana anda berada, sila jaga jarak anda. Elakkan bersentuhan dengan orang yang berada di sekeliling anda.
Sentiasa bawa ubat-ubatan seperti ubat demam, selsema, batuk, oximeter, dan termometer (pengukur suhu badan). Ini adalah benda wajib yang perlu dibawa sepanjang anda travel sebagai persediaan. Anda tidak tahu di mana dan bila anda akan tidak sihat.

Lebih kurang dalam 1jam perjalanan dari bandar Kuching

Di sini adalah boleh lepak minum/makan sambil menikmati suasana yang indah di The Rock Cafe (Macam Hard Rock Cafe tapi bukan, Hahaha)

Nak pegi seberang ada 2 cara:

Cara1 : Melalui jambatan terapung pegi dan balik - Bayaran RM10 untuk dewasa (percuma 2 tin air) dan RM5 untuk kanak-kanak (percuma 1 tin air)

Cara2 : Menggunakan bot (Boat Ride) - Bayaran RM10 (Dewasa) dan RM5 (Kanak-Kanak). Cukup 10 orang baru jalan, tapi hanya adalah sebuah bot sahaja, jadi setiap kumpulan kena menunggu dalam 20-30 minit). Boat ride, dia akan pusing sekitar tasik dahulu, melihat permandangan, dan juga melalui air terjun mini, dan di turunkan di kawasan cafe. Balik nanti guna jambatan terapung. Tiada percuma air tin.

Nak lepak di sini, air tin berharga RM5 satu. Ada juga makanan lain yang ditawarkan (sila rujuk gambar menu)

Nak staycation sini boleh. Ada 2 pilihan bilik iaitu Landed Chalet dan Floating Chalet

Landed Chalet harga RM200 untuk hari biasa dan RM300(Hujung Minggu/Cuti Umum)

Floating Chalet pula RM250 untuk hari biasa dan RM350 (Hujung minggu/Cuti Umum)

If you asked me, Floating Chalet yang view dia marvelous. Tapi Floating chalet dia dia goyang-goyang sedikit. Jadi boleh pening-pening lalat atau mabuk laut.

Aktiviti air juga ditawarkan disini, setakat ini hanya pedal boat yang ditawarkan, RM10 seorang untuk RM30 minit

Ada aktiviti lain juga seperti kayak dan standing paddle, tapi belum ada harga lagi kot.

Semua aktiviti air mengikut SOP keselamatan.

Walaupun hujung minggu, tak crowded. Jadi, bila-bila masa anda melawat, ikutlah SOP dan jaga jarak untuk keselamatan anda ya!

If you are in Kuching, looking for the excellent place to have a lunch or dinner with friends / family, I really recommended Babaganoush. Babaganoush served a variety of seafoods and menu. It is located in Jalan Pending where you need to drive there (if you have transport) or you can use a Grab services as their location is a little bit off from the Kuching City Centre.

There are few reasons why Babaganoush is one of the best restaurant in Kuching:

1. 🔷It fully Halal-certified.

2. 🔷For it cleanliness, it been rated with "A" Grade by MBKS (Maljlis Perbandaran Kuching Selatan).

3. 🔷Air-conditioning restaurant and really comfortable.

4.🔷Suprisingly the price is affordable, and I can consider cheap. It comes with three size of portion for you to choose. The small portion of vegetable, you can find started with RM8, which you can share with three person. The drinks price also normal price like regular normal cafe.

5. 🔷Friendly and helpful owner.

6. 🔷Yummy foods. A lot of choice. If you see their menu, it is very long list.

7. 🔷Good serving services. I had been here few times, their foods preparation is very fast. I am really satisfied.

8.🔷If you are alone, also no problem as they have menu for a single person, such as western dish/rice/noodles dishes.

So, the named of the brand is represent Sarawak Dark Chocolate. This creative idea to create the chocolate is from Noor Asmah Mohammed Mokhtar, who also the owner of Roti Lazeez Enterprise. Their small kitchen factory is located at Laruh Skim, Kuching, Sarawak.

The unique of CHELUM is that, the ingredients are 100% originally from Sarawak and featuring the identity of Sarawak, the land of Hornbills. Till this date, there are 5 exotic types of CHELUM in the market, they are Cholocate Tiong Delight (Terung Asam / Sour Eggplant), Cholocate Sago Pearl, Cholocate Tebaloi Crunch, Cholocate Blackpepper, and Cholocate Lazeez Spice.

I had tried all five different types of CHELUM chocolate. Honestly, Tebaloi Crunch is my favorite and recommended for you to try. For the Blackpepper, is my least favorite as it's too strong for me as I did not like spicy things. But, if you adventurous enough, you should try it. Before you buy in big quantity,

I recommend you to try it first. For sure, the taste will drive you to the next level of chocolate sensation where you cannot find in other places.

SAGOK PEARL (SAGO PALM/RUMBIA)

Metroxylon sagu is a species of palm in the genus metroxylon, native to tropical south-eastern Asia, namely Malaysia and Indonesia. The tree is of commercial importance as the main source of sago, a starch kernels out of the pulverized pith water. The starch is used in cooking for puddings, noodles, breads, and as a thickener. The sago palm reproduces by fruiting. Each steam (trunk) in a sago palm clump flowers and fruits at the end of its life, but the sago palm as an individual organism lives on through its suckers (Shoots that continuously branching off a stem at or below ground level). To harvest the starch in the stem, it is felled shortly before or early during this final flowering stage when starch content is highest.

TEBALOI CRUNCH

Tebaloi, traditional Sarawak snack is a delicacy of Melanau people of Sarawak. The unique taste of Tebaloi is so special that it has become very popular snack for all races. The main producing areas of Tebaloi are in the Mukah and Dalat districts along the coastal region of Mukah Division. The areas favour large plantations og sago palms which produce sago powder, the main ingredients used in the processing of Tebaloi.

TIONG DELITE (TERUNG ASAM SARAWAK)

A herb plant that grows up to 2.5m. Very similar to Terung Bulu. Regarded as a variant of Terung Bulu, Terung Asam has white flowers and green fruits at the immature stage. Color of mature fruits ranges from yellow, reddish yellow, purplish yellow and of different shape depending on the variety. The sour taste gives its name "Terung Asam".

BLACKPEPPER SEED (SARAWAK BLACKPEPPER)

Pepper (Piper Nigrum L.) has been cultivated in Sarawak since 1856. Blackpepper is the world's most traded spice, and is one of the most common spices added to cuisines around the world.

LAZEEZ SPICE

Is a mixture of finely ground spices such as turmeric, ginger, coriander, galangal, cumin, blackpepper, red onion, star anise, rise, coconut, chili flakes, cinnamon, cardamom, garlic, aniseed which has pleasant aroma and flavor. This mixture is used to enhance the flavor of the chocolate.

For now, CHELUM did not have any shop that open to public. Most of their chocolate is sell by the agent, you can always check in Shopee and Facebook for their agent. You also can find the CHELUM Chocolate at the Kuching/Miri/Sibu International Airport. If you planning to have a visit at Lazeez Enterprise (maybe you can see by youself how CHELUM is made), you can contact 019-888-8808 for the arrangement.

If you are looking for souvenirs in Sarawak to bring back home, I really recommend CHELUM, as it is really representing the Sarawak.

Things To Do in Kuching: Cycling City Tour by Paradesa Borneo

If you are reading this post, that's mean you are looking what to do while you are in Kuching or you just want to read my adventure, hehehhe. Last December 2021, as I participate in programme LAN BERAMBEH MAKAI' BA SARAWAK organized by Tourism Malaysia Sarawak, I had opportunity to do a cycling tour around Kuching city which conducted by Paradesa Borneo.

Just for your info, Padaradesa Borneo is the leading cycling holiday in Borneo, Kuching especially. So if you are into cycling, you should looking for them. Before the tour, I had given my height measurement to the organizer as the Paradesa Borneo will ready the bicycle custom for you as per your height. When we arrived, the bicycle had given as per your number. Anyway my lucky number is 28. Safety helmet also provided. Just make sure you are using appropriate attire for this activity.

Safety briefing conducted in professional manners. As we are group around 20pax, there are enough guide/marshal with us just for our safety as for 8pax, there will be 1 guide. My biggest fear is cross the road as there are so many cars. Luckily there are guide helping us. Hopefully the drivers are understand as nowadays there are so many viral post regarding the cyclist. Hahaha, I do not want that, especially the video of me while crossing the road.

Our first stop is Old Museum, we learned about Jerunai (Old Burial Pole) as Old Museum still closed for renovation. So, if your are in Kuching, you can have a look at this Jerunai. One in front of Old Museum, anyone one is at the new building of Islamic Museum.

Then we are crossing the new bridge to the New Islamic Museum, continue to Jalan Ajibah Abol. Along here is the Malay village. We called here "Kampung Nombor", or if I translate to English "Number Village". Why? Because in this area, the kampung divided by number such as Kampung No1, Kampung No2 and so on.

We cycling through the new waterfront of Kampung Nombor then we exit through Masjid Bandar Kuching then we continue to Lorong Dock, Masjid India or Gambir Road, till the Riverbank Suite building where we took a ride to jetty "Penambang", it is only behind the Tourism Malaysia Office (located inside Riverbank Suites). All our bicycles inside the penambang till we across to the jetty of Kpg Boyan.

As the hill is very steep, you need to push your bike up till the old SK Gersik where the Kpg Boyan access to The Brooke Gallery). We reached at the area of Brooke Gallery and take some rest, the view of new DUN Building is amazing here. We continue our journey passing the Botanical Garden, old DUN building the down ASTANA (Governor house), new DUN bulding as Darul Hana bridge.

As one the rule that you can't cycling on the bridge, you need to push your bicycle on the bridge. As the time we reached there around 6.15pm, we are waiting for the sunset. Unfortunately, the weather in Kuching nowadays very moody and cloudy, the sunset was very shy. So, we ended the tour the same place where we started.

As a reward, enjoy the signature of Sarawak, called Ice Cream gula apong from IG Gula Apong. Yup, for me, I really enjoy the tour. But for me, they need to more stories along the route as I know every place we go offers so many history.

If you asked me, I recommended you to do this tour. If you are looking for adventure cycling tour, do check out Paradesa Borneo, various interesting tour they can offer for you. Oh, you are wondering about difficulty level, I can categorize as EASY as I never done this before or cycling this long.

It has been a long time I did not staycation at my hometown. Last December 2021, I had the opportunity to stay for 3 nights at one of my wish list hotel in Kuching. It is Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing. Location

Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing is located at the across the famous Kuching Waterfront. What I can say it, the location is excellent and strategic plus you will get the best view of Kuching. If you want to hang out at night, enjoying some food and coffee, you can just go to the kiosk cafe across the hotel at the Kuching Waterfront. Main Bazaar for the souvenir shopping just less than 200 m from the hotel.

Carpark

Many carpark available with security plus ticket. The ticket need to validate before going out and it is free.

Check In/Lobby

When you entered from the main entrance, you need to go up using the escalator for the hotel lobby. Unfortunately, before the escalator, there will be a two steps stairs which you need to lift up a little bit of your luggage.

The reception counter is normal look and nothing to talk about. What I need to highlight is the view from the lobby itself, surround with see-through glass, you can see Kuching Waterfront while you sitting at the chair of reception. Very excellent view. There is also a restaurant (breakfast you will be having here), where you can sit outdoor with the vibes of Kuching.

There is a welcome drink served too.

Room

My room is 1240 and I stayed at 12th floor (my room at the end). To go to the room, you need your card to scan at the elevator, so it is very secured and safe to stay in this hotel.

When I arrived in front of my room, I noticed my room been sealed which means it had been sanitized and ready for you. In case, you find your seal is broken, you can decline to enter your room. So, this part, I am very impressed with Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing. This is my first time to encounter the door seal policy.

My room is Deluxe Room. It is very spacious room with a king bed. The interior is so simple and modern and very different from the Puteri Wing (the interior more wooden crafted with Sarawak motives). Also notice in here, they did not using carpet which is good.

There is a welcome note together with welcoming fruits-gift. Everything is complete in this room, including iron with iron board, hair-dryer, room slippers, security deposit box and bathrobe.

The first night, there is a problem with my AC. My room a little bit hot even the control showing 16degC and error. As that night, I went home for a while to take some clothes, I also brought together my portable camping fan. I did not inform the problem that night as it was really late. So I slept with the help of my portable camping fan. The next day, I informed to the in charge person, when I arrived my room later that day, the AC is fixed.

During my stays, I did not asked the housekeeping to clean my room. It is good they keep the note that I put "Do not Disturb so they can't clean my room".

As my room located at the end, so my view of Kuching Waterfront is not really full view. I can't view the Darul Hana Bridge Properly. Just take note, to avoid the room number ending with ,38,39,40.

Bathroom

The first I noticed, here they did not have a bathtub. Simple and dull bathroom, Nothing to brag about. The bathroom tiles cleanliness they can improved as you can see between the tiles, there are many dark spots.

I love their rain shower, very powerful pressure. I did not like the idea of giving 1 each of amenities. 1 shower gel, 1 hair shampoo and 1 hair conditioner. In my opinion, at least give 2 units of shower gel each room as normally I will take bath morning, evening and night. Yup, you can called to ask for more, but don't you think it will be wasting your time?

Breakfast

For 3 nights staying here, I only had a breakfast once and it is only a light breakfast. As I am not a morning person plus our program that day is full with eating itinerary. But what I can say, they served variety of food but not that extravaganza like 5-stars hotel I used to go. To be honest, their Sarawak Laksa is not that good, I observed most of the hotel in Sarawak, serving really un tasty Sarawak Laksa. All the guest will be given a pair of plastic gloves to take the food from the tray as a Covid19 precaution.

Overall

I had a good stay at Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing even though there is here and there (very small matter) and they can improve next time. Comfortable room at the excellent location and the view also amazing. Plus, the price is affordable and the hotel actually is newest hotel among the hotel along the Kuching Waterfront. Recommended!

Introduction:

It is located at one of the most vibrant historical districts with a history that can be traced back to the 19th century – Jalan Pintal Tali, the 2-storey Ropewalk Piazza Hotel stands out as a magnificent landmark. It is actually just opened back few days before I arrived. There are only 12 rooms at Ropewalk Piazza Hotel, which 11 units are 2-bedroom suite and 1 unit is 3-bedroom suite.

Arrival:

It was a short Grab car drive from my previous hotel to the Ropewalk Piazza Hotel, less than RM5. The whole building is actually owned by Ropewalk Piazza Hotel. Some of the units are rented by the other shops. All the suite is located upstairs.

Carpark:

Unfortunately, no carpark is available at this property. So you can park your vehicles along the road next to the hotel. Once you got your parked your car, my advice, if you want to go around the city, use the GrabCar Service. You can pay your park using the apps of PenangParking, which cost only RM0.80 per hour. In their website, there is map guide of suggestion where to park your car

Location:

Surprisingly, it is only less than 5 minutes walk from Prangin Mall, KOMTAR, 1st Avenue Mall and Chowrasta Market. As I was using bus to go back to Kuala Lumpur, the Bilion Star Express office only 3 minutes walked from the hotel. So convenience. As the hotel is located on the center of heart of the city, it is easy to go everywhere.

Check-In/Lobby:

The check-in process was smooth and with the modern design. A few sofa at the lobby for you to chill. Basically, you only walked through the lobby only during the registration and checked-out. There will no room card provided, instead you will giving the room keylock number.

Room/Suite:

If you see at the hotel building, there are many doors along the corridor, it is actually a guestroom door. You need to opened the door using the keylock number given (no room key/card), and that's it, the door is opened. So, you will need to memorize your key number, so snap a photo of your keylock number card or you can bring a card with keylock number on it. No need to worry if you lost the card.

Once you opened the door, there is a stairs welcoming you. It is quite high to be honest. So, all I can say, it is not really suitable for senior citizens, the one need special assistance also the young children as you worried they will fall down.

I love the living room, there is a sofa bed, television, microwave, water heater, and fridge. It's a normal amenities for the apartment style hotel. But unfortunately, no kitchen provided. Microwave is really convenience for you to heat up the food.

There are 2 bedrooms provided. 1 king bed in master bedroom and 1 queen bed in other room. So actually total of 6 adults can stay in this apartment. So it is worth the price. The master bedroom is really spacious, provided with another television, make up table plus the big size of wardrobe cabinet. All I can say everything is complete inside such as security box, iron, and etc.

Another room is just basic, with very comfortable queen bed plus the wardrobe. All is excellent for me. Unfortunately, I was alone during my stay, so I just hang out in my master bedroom as it is so cozy.

Bathroom:

The bathroom has the luxurious vibes a little bit as there is no bathtub provided but I like the vibes which I can't explain. Love the amenities provided by the Penang Hotel Collections. Love the gold color theme of amenities as its look classy. The rain shower has the excellent pressure which make you did not realize that you already in the shower for a long time.

Wifi:

Wifi is excellent, fast speed and working fine, I am really reliable with the Wifi as my phone signal is really week when I am the room. As I am working during the travel, love their makeup/working table in the master bedroom. It is really spacious and I can work comfortably. So I think place is suitable for you if you are looking to work from hotel.

Breakfast:

No breakfast provided. As microwave is provided, I think it is excellent as you can heat up your food. During this pandemic, it is a good idea to take away your food, avoid crowds and eat with your families at the hotel room, more comfortable and convenience. Plus the hotel location is near with every restaurant, and it is easy to order your favorite foods without waiting to long. When you are in Penang, you can forget to have a breakfast in hotel. Penang is a food heaven itself.

Senior Citizen/OKU Suitabilty:

All I can say, it is not suitable as it has a really high staircase in each unit.

Will I stay here again in the future?

Absoulutely yes. For RM 288 per night where there are 2 bedroom + 1 sofa bed which can provided about 6 adults, I think it is really worth the money. Plus, everything is complete in the room, and having a microwave is a bonus. Location also very strategic and easy to go anywhere.

Penang..... my last visited Penang was on 2018. Phewww, it has been a while. Actually my first plan was to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Penang. Unfortunately, I can't arrived in Kuala Lumpur on time to catch my flight, so I was decided to stay in Pahang for a while, and back to Kuala Lumpur then catch an express bus to Penang.

In Penang, I had stay at Le Embassy Hotel for one night. Here I want to share my review regarding my stay in here.

Hotel: Le Embassy Hotel, Georgetown Penang

Room: Counselor Queen Room (Room No: 205)

Arrival

From Terminal Bus Sungai Nibong, the distance from Le Embassy is around 10km. As I was using GrabCar, I was charged RM16.35. I am very excited as I saw the building is very historical look. Built in 1957, Le Embassy Hotel is a fully restored heritage hotel situated in the historical heart of George Town. Travel back in time the moment you set foot into Le Embassy Hotel and be charmed by its timeless yet modern design concept.

Carpark

Unfortunately the carpark is very limited and first come first served.

Location

The TOPS around 10 minutes walked from the hotel. Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul is only less than 5 minutes walked. As this hotel strategically located in the middle of the city, it is suitable for anyone for exploring Penang easily.

Check-In / Lobby

It was smooth. As I mentioned earlier, deposit is RM100 which is refundable upon checking out. The lobby of the hotel is not spacious but comfortable space for few people to check it. As it is inspired by modern design concept, you will be welcoming by big WELCOME shoes rug, one long sofa, checkered design floor plus the drawer look for the receptionist's counter.

Room

My room was 205 which is Counselor Queen Room. It is spacious enough which I can move easily around the room. As my room located in the corner, all I can say my room is bigger than any Counselor Queen Room. The room is inspired by the scenes in the early 20’s, the design concept introduces a nostalgic throwback – a classic good old yesteryear with a sense of sophistication, quirkiness and upper class.

Love the idea of table mirror which can move easily left or right. The first hotel I saw this kind of table mirror. The working table is not that big as my usual preference, but once you clear everything on the table, you can do your work comfortable. The chair also ergonomically comfortable.

The bed is super comfortable plus they provided with four comfortable pillows. After a tiring day exploring Penang, this kind of bed is what you need to make your night rest the best and ready for the next day.

Surprisingly, there are two contemporary painting hanging on the wall in the room which make complete the look. The television position is weirdly located on the wall which not parallel straight with the position of the bed and its make your watching television a little bit uncomfortable, but not really a problem for me, as I barely watching television as I am too busy exploring the city in the day and directly sleep at night as too tired.

Bathroom

In a day, the natural light goes through the colored-glass window and make the bathroom green color which some of you might uncomfortable with, for me, its probable fine as green is a cool light and make your morning calm and soothing.

Hot shower is provided and the pressure is great. There is a water hose next to the toilet (you know what I mean).

There is no shower curtain in the bathroom, so after the shower, your toilet/sink will completely wet. For the amenities, they are using the ROSSLYN FRANCE Hair & Body Shampoo which make your shower experience luxuriously indulgent. For whoever love to collect Hotel Body & Hair Shampoo, do not worry, you can buy the products at the lobby counter, RM139 for 2 (Christmas Promotion valid till 25/12/2021).

When I opened the window in the bathroom, the KOMTAR building is in sight directly.

Breakfast

When you are traveling in Penang, my suggestion is lets have a breakfast outside as Penang offers variety of incredible and yummy breakfast around the city. Le Embassy Hotel also offers breakfast to their guest. There are six breakfast special menu for you to choose, and you need to let reception know your choice during your check-in. And the breakfast will be deliver at your room in the morning in the day.

So as for me, I had chosen set C: Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng and Set D: Nasi Tomato Ayam Masak Merah. My verdict, it's yummy and make my tummy full.

Senior Citizen / OKU Suitability

Definitely yes. Le Embassy offered Senior citizen/OKU facilities friendly. Even though the hotel only having three floors, but the hotel having a lift inside the building which makes the guest with special assistance move easily inside the hotel. Kudos.

Will I stay in here in the future?

A big yes for me. I love the location of the hotel and the room is cozy, comfortable and classic plus the price is affordable. Here are the other type of room they offered:

Pada 8 Disember 2021 lalu, telah berlangsung acara Vacay Gateway, Media Appreciation Ten-Pin Bowling Tournament sempena program Sarawak Food Trail "Lan Berambeh Makai Ba' Sarawak" di Megalanes Superbowl, King Centre, Kuching, Sarawak yang telah dianjurkan oleh Tourism Malaysia Sarawak.

Seramai 42 orang peserta dari agensi media tempatan, peserta media digital dari Semenanjung Malaysia yang menyertai Program Sarawak Foodtrail Lan Berambeh Makai Ba' Sarawak serta wakil daripada agensi kerajaan negeri dan persekutuan telah menjayakan pertandingan boling ini.

Sebanyak 5 kategori pertandingan telah dipertandingkan iaitu Kategori Kumpulan, Kategori Keseluruhan Individu Lelaki, Kategori Keseluruhan Individu Wanita, Kategori Jatuhan Pin Tertinggi Lelaki dan Kategori Jatuhan Pin Tertinggi Wanita.

Pada bulan April yang lepas, aku melawat Kuala Selangor dan Sekinchan untuk pertama kalinya bersama-sama dengan rombongan Tourism Malaysia Sentral. Ya, betul, pertama kali!. Tujuan aku ke sini adalah melihat acara Tourism Malaysia Surfcasting Tour 2019 yang bertempat di Pantai Remis, Kuala Selangor. Perjalanan di mulakan pada jam 8pagi dari Kuala Lumpur. Jadi, 7 tempat yang aku sempat lawat ini adalah ringkasan perjalanan selama 12 jam, dari pagi sehinggalah ke malam. Untuk pengetahuan anda, jarak Sekinchan adalah lebih kurang 30 minit dari Kuala Selangor.

Tujuan utama kami adalah untuk ke Pantai Remis adalah bagi menyaksikan Tourism Malaysia Surfcasting Tour 2019. Agak meriah untuk acara pada kali ini di mana hampir 1700 penyertaan kaki joran dari seluruh Malaysia untuk mencuba nasib pada edisi kali ini. Untuk pengetahuan semua, johan akan membawa balik hadiah RM70,000 tunai. Yang paling menarik, hasil ikan ditangkap seawal minit pertama pertandingan di rasmikan. Untuk hari-hari biasa, Pantai Remis adalah satu tempat yang aman damai untuk menenangkan fikiran.

6. Laman Tebu Aidil

Jangan lepaskan peluang untuk menikmati suasana dan makanan di laman tebu Aidil. Ia terletak tidak jauh dari Pasar Jerami. Menikmati jus tebu yang segar adalah semestinya jika berkunjung di sini malas terdapat juga makanan ringan untuk anda sambil menikmati panorama yang segar dan indah. Tidak lupa juga untuk berOOTD sebagai kenangan.

7. OrangOrang Art Cafe

Pernah dilawat oleh rancangan Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan. Jika anda ingin mencuba atau makan Belangkas, bolehlah singgah ke dai OrangOrang Art Cafe ini. Ada juga ShellOut Belangkas dan juga makanan Western.

8. Bukit Malawati

Sebelum ini aku hanya mendengar tentang sejarah Bukit Malawati. Hari ini, aku berkesempatan untuk melihat sendiri apa yang menarik di Bukit Malawati ini. Dengan bayaran masuk RM3 untuk dewasa (sangat murah), anda akan di bawa dengan menggunakan keretapi berbentuk trak sampai ke puncak Melawati. Anda juga boleh memilih untuk naik Bukit Malawati sendiri dengan menaiki tangga. Dikenali juga dengan gelaran Bukit Selangor. Permandangan dari atas adalah sangat istimewa. Di sini juga, anda boleh bermesra dengan monyet-monyet Bukit Malawati, yang boleh aku katakan jinak terutamanya monyet yang berbulu hitam. Banyak makanan untuk diberikan kepada monyet-monyet dijual di atas Bukit Malawati ini.

Mengikut sejarah, Bukit Malawati ini pernah ditakluki oleh Belanda dari tangan Sultan Ibrahim (Julai 1784). Setahun kemudian pada 28 Januari 1785, Sultan Ibrahim dengan bantuan adindanya, Dato' Penggawa Permatang Mahabijaya (Penggawa Tua) dan Bendahara Adb. Majid Pahang, telah menghalau Belanda dalam tempoh satu malam sahaja. Serangan yang bermula selepas waktu Isyak itu telah berjaya menawan bukit ini sebelum fajar subuh menyinsing. Di atas Bukit Malawati terdapat beberapa buah rumah pegawai-pegawai tinggi kerajaan, sebuah rumah rehat, rumah api dan kesan-kesan sejarah.

9. Mee Udang Banjir Udang Galah - Makan Tengah hari

Setelah penat melawat Bukit Malawati, perut kami mula berbunyi menandakan waktu makan tengahhari telah tiba. Kami singgah ke restoran Mee Udang Banjir Udang Galah. Sudah tentunya aku makan makanan istimewa restoran ini. Mee Udang Banjir Udang Galah bersaiz sederhana berharga RM15, terdapat 5 ekor udang galah di dalam mangkuk mee udang aku. Bagi pendapat aku, mee udang nya adalah biasa sahaja. Banyak menu lain juga yang melibatkan udang galah seperti kueh tiaw, nasi gorang dan sebagainya.

10. BUS Cafe Sekinchan

Bas di tengah bendang juga adalah menjadi tarikan di sini kerana ianya cukup unik. Pengalaman menghirup kopi di BUS Cafe Sekinchan juga menyajikan pengalaman yang berbeza.

11. Pasar Jerami Bankenal

Jangan lepaskan peluang untuk mengambil gambar di sini jika anda telah sampai di Sekinchan. Berlatar belakangkan jerami, di sini merupakan tarikan terbaru dan menjadi salah satu tempat wajib bergambar dan berOOTD.

12. Ah Ma House, Sekinchan

Perjalanan diteruskan untuk ke kawasan Sekinchan, lebih kurang 30 minit perjalanan dari Kuala Selangor. Tujuan adalah untuk ke Ah Ma House. Ah Ma House adalah sebuah kedai runcit yang menjual barang-barang "old school". Masuk ke Ah Ma House adalah seperti mengimbau kembali memori lama yang seakan-akan pudar dengan peredaran masa. Ada sudut-sudut yang sangat sesuai untuk bergambar dan "Instagramable". Anda boleh membeli kuih kapit disini kerana dikatakan enak dan popular.

13. Sawah Padi, Sekinchan

Di sekeliling Ah Ma House adalah sawah padi yang menghijau. Jika anda melawat pada bulan April, permandangan adalah sangat indah. Bolehlah anda mengambil gambar untuk kenang-kenangan jika anda tidak pernah ke sawah pada seperti aku. Di kawasan sawah padi ini, aku perasan ada beberapa buah seperti hostel untuk menginap bagi sesiapa ingin lari dari kesibukan kota. Ini adalah rancangan aku nanti, menginap di Sekinchan berhadapan dengan sawah padi, tapi kena pastikan padi sedang menghijau, barulah best. Sepanjang jalan juga terdapat pondok yang menjual buah-buahan tempat seperti buah mangga dan lain-lain. Bolehla beli untuk buah tangan orang di rumah.

14. Puyuh Seafood Corner - Makan Malam

Nampaknya masa agak cemburu dengan kami, dah gelap hari rupanya. Tibalah masa untuk kami balik ke Kuala Lumpur. Tapi kami singgah dulu ke Puyuh Seafood Corner untuk menikmati makan malam. Kami telah meng'order' tomyam, ikan tiga rasa, kerang bakar, sayur-sayuran dan lain-lain lagi. Servis hidangan di sini tidaklah begitu memuaskan, dengan makanan dihidangkan memakan masa yang agak lama. Tetapi setiap hidangan adalah sedap. RAWANG, 2nd November, 2021 - Selangor State Government through its Official Tourism Promotion Agency, Tourism Selangor on Tuesday’s Press Conference event announced a delightful news -- the organisation of the 3rd Tourism Selangor Golf Tournament 2021 on the 12th of December which will certainly become the day to witness some thrilling golfing actions. The much-anticipated entry in Selangor’s 2021 Calendar of Events will descend at the venue of the Press Conference, Bukit Beruntung Golf Club, Rawang; a prestigious Golf Club owned by the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI Selangor).

The 18-hole inaugural Tournament will welcome a plethora of golfers; from Selangor’s tourism industry players, top Management in the private sector, celebrity and expatriate golfers, Tournament’s sponsors, golf enthusiasts and members of the Media, to the representatives from Government-linked Companies (GLCs). It is organised with the vision to strengthen existing or future relations among contesting golfers in a competitive yet enjoyable setting.

The State of Selangor, with an impressive number of 29 Golf Clubs across the State which many are award-winning, has a clear route in navigating towards optimal penetration of sports tourism, particularly golf. As the leading and premier Golf Hub in Malaysia, Selangor is a preferred destination by domestic and expatriate golfers seeking some kick and thrill on the golf course, surrounded by the lush of greens.

Visiting Damai Central Kuching in October 2021

After a while, as children now can go out, my family decided to bring my nephew to go out just to see world as they had been locked at home for a few months. So, we decided on one evening in October 2021 to go to Damai Central. Yes, it is the first time for me to go here for 2021.

It is only took us about 30 minutes to arrive here. Luckily we arrived early around 4.30pm easily park our cars. Plus, the people also not so many as it is a weekdays. Ya, just for your information, I preferred go out on the weekdays where people is less.

It was found the the beach area is closed but people managed to go out to the beach through the opened fence. I am not sure why they closed the beach but the let the fence opened. Let opened the beach for now.

I end up took some photo shoot with the beach. It was a nice evenings. After some times, when I realise more people are comings, we went to the food court. Only 4 foods restaurant opened that day. I had my Fried Mee Kolok which turned up very delicious.

So, that is how we spent our short evening. More to come.

2days 1night camping at Manau Camp, Bau, Sarawak

After a few months holiday and spending my holiday time in my room as I am too afraid to go out because of Covid19, I decided my first outdoor activity is camping. I posted my camping idea on my Facebook and then one of my friends, contact me to invite to join him camping at the new camp site. I said yes immediately.

He did not tell me the details where we will camp but just informed it is a new campsite will be opened soon. It is called Camp Manau. I am proud to say I am one of a few persons who stayed at the Camp Manau before it is officially opened.

Camp Manau is around 2 hours drive to Kuching and it is located at the middle on nowhere in Singai, Bau. To go here, we rode the 4WD Hilux as it is the off road. All I can say, the road is really adventurous especially after or during raining. You really need a high skill driver and get ready with any towing equipment in case of emergency.

The objectives to camp out here actually to help out the owner and the travel organization clearing up some space such as cleaning the grass, woods, bamboo for the camping site area. We also help to transfer the water tank.

Just for your information, Camp Manau will be managed by Nomad Campers. Nomad Campers is a series with Adventure Alternative Borneo which offers nature lovers a camping retreat to places that can only be covered by 4x4 off road vehicles. Nomad Campers offer comfortable camping facilities while having to enjoy nature in its natural state. Kids can also enjoy this camping style.

So, if you ask me if this place open to public or not, the answer is not. To stay here, you need to buy the package from Adventure Alternative Borneo. As I was told, the package will included the transportation 4x4 off road, all the camping equipment/tent (they will set up for you), and foods (breakfast, dinner, lunch 2x). But then, for the barbeque, you can barbeque by yourself but everything is ready by the Adventure Alternative Borneo. The concept is like glamping, but the place is privately far from town and exclusive just for you. This also will help the local community to generate some incomes through their tourism products.

I will update again after the official opening. As for our trip, we just use our own camp and the original setup of the camp will be not like this. It is more beautiful and grand.

As our main job is to clear the campsite, felt so tired as I did not work this hard a few months. LOL. I clearing the bamboo, cutting the tree. collected all the dry leaves and organizing the stones. It was tired but I was glad that I went out. Too much playing games did not so healthy as I gain almost 10kg for the past 5 months.

At night, we had a barbeque. Nice, feel relax and calm. The next morning, we enjoyed swimming at the river. Unfortunately, it is raining season, and the color of the river is brown. I was told, when is not raining, the water is so beautiful. It is okay, I will be back here for sure.

Sorry if I did not took many photos as my objectives here just to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Actually, the plan is we want to stop at Oyak Muot waterfall unfortunately the weather is not that promising and we end end directly go back home.

Review: Holiday Family Staycation at Union YES Retreat & Training Centre @ Siar

On 18th October 2021, we decided to have a family vacation but not too because of the pandemic. As 19th October 2021 was a holiday for Awal Muharram, it turned out many of the vacation properties are fully booked. After discussion with family members, we decided to stay at Union YES Retreat & Training Centre @ Siar.

Union YES Retreat & Training Centre @ Siar is located in Lundu, which around 2 hours driving from Kuching City. From Lundu Town itself, it is around 15 minutes driving. This property is owned by Sarawak Bank Employee's Union.

As many vacation properties fully booked during the holiday but not here because this properties are not listed in any online booking platform. So people might get miss about this property. To book this resort, you need to book through their website itself at here.

We booked for 4 chalet rooms which cost RM290 per room. There are 1 double bed and 1 single bed in Chalet room, plus you will get free breakfast and dinner for 2 person. All included. Actually we want to booked the beach house, unfortunately the beach house was fully booked.

We arrived at Union YES Retreat & Training Centre @ Siar around 2pm after we had our lunch at Pusat Penjaja Gading Lundu. When you arrived, your car will stopped by the security guard at the entrance as he will cheked your name, temperature and you need to scan your Mysejahtera. So, if you not the guest, you will not be able enter the resort. So, it is a good security measure.

After I parked my car, I alone collected all the identification card from my family members for the check-in procedures. All the guest need to show their identification card here including the children. The deposit is RM200 per soon, so my deposit is RM800 for 4 rooms using the credit card. The vouchers for breakfast and dinners also given during check-in.

After got my keys, a little bit disappointed as our room are located at the back. Many of others chalet but we end up here, but its a bit near to our carpark. 3 chalets room are next to each other, but only my unit are separate with the others.

First impression this resort is really clean, plus surrounding escaped is beautiful and very green. We immediately secured our bag in the room. One of the room, the air-conditioning is not function properly. Inside the room, there is no telephone for you to call the receptionist. So, we just let the room cool a little bit as we know, that day is full house and there is no room available if we want to change.

After one hour, the whole resort got the electrical BLACK OUT. It happened for 3 hours and they told us that the problem was the Sarawak Energy doing the maintenance, and not their fault. Without an electric, all the water also not available as they are using the electrical pump for the water distribution system.

So, we decided to have fun at swimming pool instead. Their pools is excellent. Have the children pool with slide, the 1.5m pool and the other children pool again in front of the Spa House. As today is full house, pool a little bit cramped and nobody checks for the Covid19 SOP. They limit 15 pax per time for swimming pool. Of course I brought my giant floats. You can rent the floats from @kchfloat , the rental fee as low as Rm15 for 3days rental.

Then, we continue to have fun at Siar beach. The beach is clean and peaceful. It is good to look at the children to have fun at the beach. It is their first time playing with the beach during this pandemic as they not allowed to go out before.

Luckily, after we finished our time at the beach, the electric was back to normal. We cleaned ourself and ready for the dinner. As I mentioned before, the dinner is also provided. You have a choice to take away or having it in the restaurant. Many guest also take away the dinner food as they are having a barbeque. You can rent a barbeque space here around RM100 for the beach barbeque area and RM150 at the swimming pool. I suggest, choose at the beach. Impressed with the foods, variety of foods being served actually.

Next time, if you planning to stay here, bring your own football's ball and volleyball's ball. At here, there are big volleyball area and football area for you to play with friends/family. There is a flying fox area, but during our time here, it is not available.

That night, there is fireworks being played by the guest who have the barbeque at the beach area. It is really impressive fireworkd they played until a few cars alarm triggered too. So you can imagine how strong the fireworks. So the fireworks completed our family vacation that night as we are hang out at our chalet lobby. Owh, a night, just watch out for the sandflies. Do not forget your insect repellent. I end up bitten by many sandflies and it still itch until today (2weeks past now).

Overall, Union YES Retreat & Training Centre @ Siar is excellent for the short family vacation and those who are looking for the family time and peaceful environment. We will definitely be back.

Special notes: For those with a wheelchair:

👋Every place in this resort is using stairs. Even the chalet/beach house which is located on the ground, it still having stairs. So I can say this resort is not really suitable for the wheelchair person.

👋 I am not sure the facility on the high building attached with the elevator or not such as deluxe room and penthouse. As last time, I was stayed on the chalet house. But as my observation, at the swimming next to the lobby and cafe, it still having a short stairs.

Where to Eat in Lundu, Kuching | Pusat Penjaja Gading Lundu

Lundu is one of the popular vacation spot for people living in Kuching as it offers nice beaches especially the Pandan beach and Siar Beach. It is located in Southwest Sarawak, 2 hours drives from Kuching.

Last weekend, I was having a family vacation in Lundu. Arrived in Lundu Towna round afternoon so we are looking for the restaurant to have a lunch.

After a while, we are having lunch at Pusat Penjaja Gading Lundu. It is located in the center of town, and you will not miss the see the building which in white and green. It is also known "Market Lundu" as at the ground floor, it is selling various vegetables.

The small restaurants is located at the second floor. Halal zone also been separated and really conveniences for the muslim.

We were having a lunch at "Gerai Makanan Kak Sadiah Satem". At noon, there is a mixed rice served. A lot of variety to choose from. Everything is delicous and I am quite impressed.

We are nine persons and the total bill is RM90. So it is around RM10 per meal for us. It is affordable and worth it. So, if you are happened in Lundu, you can give it a try.
