"I went to an optics shop in India and left with prescription contacts for $26 USD without using insurance! America, please take notes," Ivy captioned the accompanying video.

In the clip, Ivy explained that she had packed only one pair of contacts, which prompted the decision to buy another. A quick 20-minute walk to a mall store was all it took her to get a replacement by simply handing over her prescription.

"I just gave them a prescription for the brand I use, so they're going to actually, I think, just to grab some," said Ivy, adding that the store said they would have her desired lenses by Monday night.

Ivy said the store offered her an additional discount if she bought more boxes but she stuck with one and received them promptly on Monday.

"I am glad that I could just walk into any optical store here in India and I could get contacts because you cannot do that in America, especially because I didn't use any insurance," said Ivy.

"I got three pairs for $26 is that a steal, or is that the normal price? I don't know," she added.

As her post went viral, the majority of social media users were amused to know that Americans needed insurance to buy contact lenses.

"Damn, I go to my glasses shop randomly and get it done. Like to get it tight and stuff and adjusted. And, he does it for free," said one user, while another added: "The concept of needing insurance for contact lenses is so foreign to me."

A third commented: "I didn't know you needed an appointment or insurance to purchase prescription contact lenses in other countries."

'US Healthcare Is Scam'

Earlier this month, another American woman labelled the US healthcare system a "scam" after buying a $1,000 medication for just $25 from India. The woman named Victoria explained that her insurance provider refused to cover her essential medication. This left her facing an exorbitant out-of-pocket bill. Relief only came when she was advised to source the drug directly from an Indian manufacturer instead.

"This medication was going to cost me $1,000 out-of-pocket in the US and I bought it for $25. Yep, just for six little pills, $1,000 out-of-pocket because my insurance wouldn't cover it," Victoria said.

Victoria said common people in America were being 'completely scammed' by the healthcare system. She also questioned where all the extra money was going.

Both the Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will remain shut for the day, with normal trading set to resume on Monday, June 22. The US bond market will also be closed, in line with guidance issued by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).

Juneteenth: History and Significance

Since gaining federal holiday status in 2021, Juneteenth has been celebrated annually as a milestone in American history. Known by many as America's Second Independence Day, it serves as a time to remember the end of slavery and offers millions a day off work.

The holiday traces its origins to 19 June 1865, when Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger landed in Galveston with around 2,000 Union soldiers and informed enslaved Black Texans that they had been emancipated. The news arrived two-and-a-half years after Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.

Once trading resumes following the Juneteenth holiday, Wall Street is expected to operate without interruption until early July. US stock exchanges are next scheduled to shut their doors on Friday, July 3.

"If he progresses beyond T20 cricket to one-day cricket, and then to Test cricket, and if he clicks in Test cricket, which he will, I am sure then you will see a revival of Test cricket.

"You need that kind of cricketer today. People switch on the TV just to watch Sooryavanshi. I switch on the TV to watch Sooryavanshi. That is the aura he has created around himself. And he is something amazing."

Don't worry about what people talk, just play your natural game 

Srikkanth cautioned against "too much assessment, scrutiny and advice" after the youngster's modest returns on the recent India A tour of Sri Lanka.

"Vaibhav, don't worry about what people talk about you, just play your natural game," the former selection committee chairman said.

"In one series, you don't judge a person. Come on. That happens. Poor boy. It doesn't matter. You just give him time. Don't be in a hurry. In the IPL, he was just amazing. In his second year in the IPL, he won all the awards beating all the top cricketers in the world.

"I think he is amazing. He has amazing shot making capability, an amazing eye, and amazing reflexes. I think that boy is tremendous for India's future."

He is the future of Indian cricket, let's mould him beautifully

Srikkanth said Sooryavanshi should be nurtured carefully rather than burdened with expectations.

"That boy needs a lot of time. You give him lot of encouragement. He is a guy who can win matches single-handed. So, I believe that he should be given a very, very, very long rope," the former India opener said.

"And I don't think you should mess up with him. Let's mould him beautifully And if you give him ample chances and if you mould him well, he will be simply outstanding for Indian cricket."

Srikkanth also welcomed Sooryavanshi's exposure to the senior Indian set-up.

"For the England series, let him be in the reserves. Let him understand this is international cricket. I believe that he should remain with the team, even if he doesn't have a place in the XI because Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma are playing, they are the certainties," he said.

"I don't think you should look at lesser teams or bigger teams. End of the day, it's trial by fire. If he has to play against England, let him play against England. Against Ireland, let him play against Ireland. You don't need to push him hard. Let him get chances to play his natural game."

Asked if he saw similarities between Sooryavanshi and Sachin Tendulkar, who made his international debut under his captaincy, Srikkanth ruled out any comparison.

"Let's not compare Sachin and Sooryavanshi. Sachin is God of cricket and this boy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, I believe is the son of God. Let's put it that way. Just leave Sachin alone. Nobody can come near him." Praising Sooryavanshi, Srikkanth said: "He has been simply amazing in under-19 cricket. His shot-making is astonishing. The way he hits those shots, hitting all the top bowlers for a six on the first ball, and his ability, his wrist speed, his bat speed, his bat swing.

"I think he has a very stable mind. If you see the last IPL matches, against Gujarat Titans. RCB were 9 for 2 and he stayed back and scored," he noted.

Kohli should have given him a royal send-off in Test cricket

Srikkanth said Virat Kohli should have played the England series as he deserved a royal send-off from Test cricket.

"Virat Kohli is a different level. He has the passion, the aggression, and the commitment. He is simply amazing ... he has been one of the best captains India has ever produced, especially in Test cricket. But his luck is just that he has not been lucky enough to win an ICC trophy.

"Kohli should have played the Test series against England last year ... for a guy like Kohli who has done so much for Indian cricket, I think they should have given him a royal send-off in Test cricket. But unfortunately, it didn't happen.

"I think you should let him be. Let Virat decide what to do, like what Sachin did. See, Virat is that great. He is King of Kings Kohli..." On Rohit Sharma, Srikkanth said: "I still believe he is one of the best one-day cricketers the world has produced in modern day. One of the best ODI openers the world has produced.

"I think if he is scoring runs and if he is fit enough, why not? He should play the 2027 World Cup."

We will never know the answer, but this story is far from finished.

After Brazil opened their 2026 World Cup campaign with a draw, the road to the final remains wide open. While Neymar has never played in football's biggest match, Brazil still have an opportunity to change that statistic this summer.

For now, however, one fact remains remarkable: Brazil's all-time leading goalscorer has never appeared in a World Cup final.

Rohit, 39, and Kohli, 37, are only active in the ODI format for India, having retired from the other two. However, despite being in relatively good form, Saikia's response over their future leaves more questions than answers.

Much like Gambhir and Agarkar, Saikia has maintained a non-committal stance on Rohit and Kohli's 2027 World Cup chances, which does not provide definitive clarity over the spots of the two Indian batting greats.

Asked if the BCCI has had any internal conversations on the matter, Saikia said all stakeholders are aligned in their views in what is essentially an ongoing process.

"We have a very well-knit team and a lot of experts. All stakeholders are taken on board," Saikia told PTI during an exclusive interaction.

"Whatever decisions that are made involve the cricket committee, the selectors and all other stakeholders, including the support staff, the head coach and the players concerned.

"There are regular conversations taking place. For that reason, we do not need any special session of interaction. This is an ongoing process," the secretary said, keeping all his cards close to his chest.

He maintained that he would not divulge any board room information.

"I do not think I should disclose anything before the media or the public because these are strategic discussions. I am not authorised to speak about them before the media. Secondly, these are matters that should remain within the boardroom."

Lula has been in fine form since the Morocco match, joking on Wednesday that he was thinking of signing Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi to play for Brazil. 

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain striker was diagnosed in late May with an injury to his right calf, and has featured in just half of the games for his club Santos this year due to various fitness issues.

Ancelotti and his coaching staff are reluctant to rush the return of Brazil's all-time record goalscorer and compromise his availability for matches later in the tournament, according to Brazilian media. 

Neymar, who has not played for his country since October 2023, did train with his teammates for the first time on Wednesday.

He has been an integral part of Brazil's last three World Cup campaigns but there was some surprise at his inclusion this time owing to his series of injuries.

Brazil's final group stage game is against Scotland in Miami on June 24.

With four points from two games, Morocco are now primed to advance to the last 32 as they aim to at least match their historic run to the semi-finals in Qatar in 2022.

However, it was a sobering evening for Scotland and their army of fans who have taken over Boston during this World Cup, as their team never really tested Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

The laboured 1-0 win over Haiti in their opening game at the same stadium last weekend -- which was their first victory at a World Cup since 1990 -- gave them a platform to build on and reason to believe they can progress beyond the group stage at a World Cup for the very first time.

Another win here would have secured progress from Group C, but their chances of going further remain up in the air going into their next match against Brazil in Miami next Wednesday.

Morocco, whose captain Achraf Hakimi started hours after it was confirmed he must stand trial in France on rape charges, face Haiti in Atlanta next.

Scots lack cutting edge

Moroccan coach Mohamed Ouahbi went with an unchanged starting line-up here following the Brazil clash, but opposite number Steve Clarke made three changes.

Clarke sought to reinforce his defence, meaning striker Lawrence Shankland dropped out as defender Kieran Tierney came into the side to make a back five.

But that was of little use as Morocco went ahead practically from kick-off.

The assist came from Real Madrid's Brahim Diaz and Grant Hanley played Saibari onside as the latter latched onto the ball over the top, controlled and rifled high into the net.

That was a cross whipped in from the left by skipper Andy Robertson that John McGinn was unable to make anything of, and the opening period ended without Bounou needing to make a save.

Morocco hit the woodwork five minutes into the second half as Saibari met a cutback by El Khannouss and his attempt was deflected onto the bar by Jack Hendry.

Moments later Gunn made a fine stop to keep out an El Khannouss header from a corner taken by Hakimi, who was regularly booed by the crowd.

Morocco nevertheless seemed content to see the game out and soak up what Scotland could throw at them.

Ryan Christie fired over on 64 minutes after being teed up by Scott McTominay, who hit the side-netting late on, but a Scotland goal proved elusive.

It leaves Gill with no other option but to return to opening the innings alongside Rohit Sharma. With Kishan and Shreyas Iyer occupying the No. 4 and 5 respectively, Jaiswal perforce needs to make use of the limited opportunities that come his way.

It's a tight and uncomfortable space for any batter, let alone for a hugely talented cricketer like Jaiswal but the team combination rigmarole is an all-consuming maze at this point.

India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate endorsed that point.

“He is someone who is waiting in the wings because of the quality and the depth we have in that position. But I certainly get the feeling that the first priority is always to win the series and to put your best team out.

“Jaiswal does get a few chances and it is incredibly tough because there is so much quality. But he is one of those guys where he does get the right chances like this, he is going to have to score runs. That is just the nature of Indian cricket.

“There is no hiding from it. These guys every time when they get a chance to go out there, whether it is on rotation or you feel you are playing a team on a rotation basis, they get these few chances and they have to take it,” he elaborated.

It's also imperative for Jaiswal to score big because India's ODI squad to tour England for three matches will be announced soon, and another slip-up might just not be taken kindly by a ruthless and fast-moving selection panel headed by Ajit Agarkar.

So, it will not be an exaggeration to think that Jaiswal needs to make his fortune all by himself, and stay in contention for an ODI berth particularly in the case of a fitness worry to anyone in the top three.

Rahul offers a different case altogether. The return of Iyer to the India set-up after a lengthy hiatus means that the 34-year-old will now have to bat largely at No. 6, unless Kishan, the current No. 4, moves up to opening for some reason, allowing the team management the provision to automatically promote the duo higher up the order.

For long, No. 5 has been Rahul's comfort zone, evident in his glittering numbers -- 1517 runs from 38 matches at an average of 63.2 overs with three hundreds and 10 fifties.

It constitutes for nearly half of his career stats. But another claimant has come for that place, and Rahul's numbers at six — 332 runs from 15 matches at 41.5 with a solitary fifty — are good without being sparkling.

It's primarily because of the limited number of overs he will get to play from the No. 6 slot, but he needs to adapt to making those quick fifties, or find solace in extrapolating the team total with the cameos.

Rana returns, but Nitish to play

India have added Harshit Rana into the squad ahead of Chennai ODI after completing rehabilitation at BCCI Centre of Excellence, but he is unlikely to play here, as all-rounder Nitish Reddy might come in for Arshdeep Singh, who has played two matches in this series.

Nitish had missed the second ODI with a sore left thigh, but Doeschate said the all-rounder has recovered enough to feature in the eleven at Chepauk.

“Nitish, he probably could have played the last game as well. But he will be good to go for tomorrow's game,” said Doeschate.

Gurnoor Brar has also played two matches, but the bigwigs might want to take an extended look at the pacer in various conditions.

On the other hand, Afghanistan have been completely outplayed in this series in both the red and white ball formats so far.

They will be eager to sign off the series showing more fight, if not with a victory.

But for that, the tourists will need to show more gumption in batting and bowling departments.

The regulator, at its board meeting, introduced a new category of Quick Transmission Processing (QTP) for small-value claims and enhanced the thresholds for simplified documentation. The board also approved a new Code of Conduct for its members and amendments to the Sebi (Employees' Service) Regulations, 2001 (ESR), to strengthen the framework governing conflict of interest and disclosures.

The move follows recommendations made by a High-Level Committee (HLC) constituted by Sebi to comprehensively review the existing rules on conflicts of interest, disclosures, and related matters concerning Sebi board members and employees.

The committee's recommendations were approved by the Sebi board, with suitable modifications, at its meeting held on March 23, 2026.

Sebi said the final Code of Conduct and amendments to the ESR will be posted on its website after completing due process, including publication of the ESR amendments in the Official Gazette.

Regarding the new mechanism, Sebi said QTP will be available for claims of up to Rs 10,000 for physical securities and Rs 30,000 for dematerialised (demat) securities. Further, Sebi has doubled the limits for transmission through simplified documentation. The threshold has been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for physical holdings per listed company and from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 30 lakh for demat holdings per beneficial owner.

The regulator has also approved several measures to reduce procedural requirements and streamline the transmission process.

As part of the changes, the requirement to submit a Permanent Account Number (PAN) has been removed, considering that PAN details are already available for opening demat accounts. In addition, the mandatory requirement of obtaining probate of a will has been dispensed with in line with recent amendments to succession laws.

Sebi has also allowed the submission of a combined affidavit-cum-no objection certificate (NOC) instead of separate affidavits and NOCs.

To facilitate easier verification, copies of death certificates carrying a QR code will now be accepted in addition to original or attested copies. For death certificates issued in foreign jurisdictions, the regulator has specified additional verification mechanisms through overseas branches of Indian banks or foreign banks having correspondent banking relationships with Indian banks.

These measures are expected to facilitate quicker transmission of securities while reducing costs and procedural hardships for claimants.

Coming 14 years after Cocktail, which was about two equally dissimilar ladies making impulsive choices, right or wrong, and holding up a mirror to the wayward ways of an entitled, commitment-phobic philanderer, the follow-up scampers in a different direction and winds up (along with its three principal characters) in a place where confusion runs riot.

The 2012 hit, scripted by Imtiaz Ali, did not sugarcoat the flaws of the man in the love triangle nor did it cast the two girls in victim-versus-vixen mould. That allowed ample room for unpredictable twists that held up well even when they seemed somewhat stretched.

Nothing of that sort comes to pass in Cocktail 2, produced by Maddock Films and Luv Films and directed by Homi Adajania. Adajania's directorial methods accommodate for the predilections of a new generation of filmgoers but do not let go of the emphasis on endless conversations.

For all its buoyancy, Cocktail 2 is somewhat undermined by a hard-to-digest premise - a woman enlists a one-time hostel roomie to seduce her live-in partner in order to test his loyalty. Inevitably, trouble ensues.

The far-fetched plot device reduces relationships to a joke. The male protagonist acknowledges as much late in the film. Tum dono ne mera mazaak bana rakkha hain, he thunders angrily when matters go out of hand. But that is not to say that the film is totally devoid of bright spots.

The moments that click rest largely on the three leads (Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna) straining every sinew of theirs to make the illogical and implausible pass muster. It is a tough ask but the actors do not stop trying. Full marks to them.

They, however, succeed only sporadically because the storyline not only strains credulity but also hinges on the audience's willingness to completely suspend disbelief and relate to a grown-up trio behaving like schoolkids playing practical pranks on each other.

Kunal (Kapoor) and Diya (Mandanna) have been a couple for 16 years but have never felt the need to get married despite societal pressures. In a drunken state, Kunal jokes that if he ever cheats on Diya, the latter would never be able to find out. I am not a fool, he brags. Diya smells a rat but all is quickly forgiven.

To celebrate the patch-up, they go on a ten-day holiday to sunny Sicily with the money they have saved by not marrying. There, they run into Ally (Sanon), an old friend Diya meets after a decade. But with doubts still niggling her, Diya suggests that Ally flirt with Kunal to see where he draws the line.

The fun and frolic that follows injects some degree of energy, if only of an ersatz variety, into the film. Ally, averse to settling down, runs away from anything that could usher boredom into her life. In Sicily, where she teaches dance after a stint as a bartender, she not only welcomes Diya and Kunal into her home, she also has the duo eating off the palm of her hand.

The fake dalliance between Ally and Kunal inevitably unleashes trouble especially when, at the halfway mark, Diya springs a wedding ring upon the man in her life. Cut to Delhi, where preparations for the nuptials get underway. I don't like weddings, intones Ally. But what happens in Sicily does not stay in Sicily.

How the irrepressible coquette deals with 'rejection' and what actions she resorts to in the aftermath constitute the second half of Cocktail 2. Rashmika Mandanna's character recedes to the background in these facile passages and Kriti Sanon's footloose and fun-loving seductress takes over.

Even if you manage to get past the unlikely gullibility of a woman trusting a friend she hasn't met for ten years, you are bound to falter when it comes to fathoming how Ally manages to get so much time for herself with Kunal, both in Sicily and in Delhi at the end of the Italian sojourn.

The girls, "not such good friends" by their own admission, fight over the man and the film gets busy with - and this is where we get into Luv Ranjan territory - projecting the guy as somebody who is so pure and altruistic that he isn't easy to sway.

Being bright, bubbly and brassy is one thing, making sense is quite another. Thanks to the sustained gloss on its surface, Cocktail 2 is great to look at. The Sicilian portions, visually lush, are the film's high points.

But amid a welter of emotional tugs and pulls that stay confined strictly to the characters and do not spill out of the screen and take the audience into the swirl, the film is like an ebullient dancer who has a spring in the feet but weighed down by a millstone-sized hangover.

The actors carry much of the onus. Shahid Kapoor is as steady as a rock even when the film isn't. Kriti Sanon not only enhances the sensuality quotient but also goes beyond being skin deep. Rashmika Mandanna, playing the sedate Diya, pulls off the more dramatic passages with aplomb but is often relegated to a secondary role.

Talking things out can solve problems, somebody says in the film. But when talk replaces action and turns into to empty prattle, verbosity strikes. That is why Cocktail 2, at least large parts of it, isn't quite as heady as the makers would have wanted it to be. Its appeal is intermittent and fleeting.

The intelligence assessment reportedly concludes that Netanyahu's political survival ahead of national elections is increasingly tied to demonstrating that Israel will not withdraw troops from southern Lebanon and remains committed to confronting Hezbollah.

The violence prompted the postponement of scheduled U.S.-Iran talks in Switzerland, where Vice President JD Vance was expected to lead the American delegation.

"Continuing to occupy part of Lebanon is a recipe for disaster," one U.S. official said, warning that without a full Israeli withdrawal, renewed hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah were "all but certain."

According to Washington Post, Israeli officials have rejected suggestions that their actions are aimed at sabotaging diplomacy. "Israeli military activity in Lebanon is for the sole purpose of defending Israeli citizens from continuous attacks by Hezbollah," a senior Israeli government official said.

Still, hardline voices within Netanyahu's coalition remain defiant. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir declared on social media: "For every tear shed by an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers should cry. All of Lebanon should burn."

Former Israeli intelligence analyst Danny Citrinowicz said Netanyahu risks "huge friction" with Trump, while former U.S. intelligence analyst Harrison Mann argued that "permanent war, and territorial expansion, have been the animating forces of Israeli politics for years."

The global consulting and technology services giant has cut its revenue outlook for the current quarter, disappointing investors despite reporting healthy profitability. The stock slumped 19% in US trading on Thursday, triggering a sell-off in the American depositary receipts of Indian IT majors such as Infosys and Wipro.

Back home on Friday, major Indian IT stocks are crashing. Infosys Ltd. is trading at a low of Rs 1,033.9, down 8.3%. Mphasis Ltd. touched Rs 2,150, declining 7.99%, while Tech Mahindra Ltd. fell to Rs 1,344, down 7.16%.

Persistent Systems Ltd. is trading at Rs 4,602, down 6.85%, and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) slipped to Rs 2,059.9, down 6.51%.

HCL Technologies Ltd. hit Rs 1,091.4, falling 6.06%, while Coforge Ltd. touched Rs 1,397.8, down 5.75%. Wipro Ltd. is trading at Rs 174.89, down 4.35%, and Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. fell to Rs 9,127.5, down 2.89%.

Brokerages had said the commentary from Accenture's management suggests that the demand environment remains challenging, with clients continuing to delay discretionary spending decisions.

Morgan Stanley said Accenture's results point to a “tough macro climate” that could persist into the second quarter. Morgan Stanley believes there is a risk that uncertainty could spill over into the coming quarters and potentially affect FY27 guidance from Indian IT firms.

HSBC noted that the weakness appears to be driven more by geopolitical disruptions than concerns around AI-led productivity gains. HSBC added that Indian IT companies continue to lack meaningful near-term catalysts, although sector valuations are now approaching trough levels.

Jefferies warned that Accenture's revised revenue outlook could lead to cuts in consensus estimates across the IT sector. According to Jefferies, traditional IT services growth remains under pressure, highlighting that India's top five IT companies continue to trade at a significant premium to Accenture.

Kotak Institutional Equities said Accenture's results offered “no solace” for a sector already grappling with multiple headwinds. Among large-cap Indian IT firms, Kotak believes Infosys could be relatively more vulnerable to the indirect impact of slowing discretionary spending and weakness in product-oriented verticals.

Addressing a press conference, Mukesh Kumar Meena, principal secretary (Mines) said that apart from Jonnagiri, the state has identified four potential areas for gold mining, including Ramagiri, Javvakula and Chigurukunta Bisnatam.

"Our estimate is that 50 tonnes of gold are available in Jonnagiri itself. So, we are confident that after a few years, we (Andhra Pradesh) will become the highest supplier of gold for the country," Meena told PTI.

Observing that commercial production of gold commenced at Jonnagiri, he said 1,500 acres were allotted for gold mining in this Kurnool village almost a decade ago.

Out of these 1,500 acres, Meena observed that exploration was undertaken only in about 500 acres, where up to 13 tonnes of gold was estimated to be available.

Gold exploration in the remaining 1,000 acres is pending, which will also begin, pegging the total gold reserves estimates in Jonnagiri alone to be at 50 tonnes, the official said.

Underscoring that gold mining is a capital-intensive and expertise-heavy activity, Meena justified the government entrusting gold mining to private players through tenders.

Further, he highlighted that the recovery of gold has plummeted massively over the years, yielding only a gram of gold on processing a tonne of mined material.

Earlier, he noted that a tonne of mined material used to yield three grams of gold, observing that a yield threshold below 0.8 grams was not economical.
