Mr. Bones is a 1996 multi-genre game for the Sega Saturn. Conceptualized by Ed Annunziata, the main developer behind the Ecco the Dolphin series, the game feels rather avant-garde in its presentation as well as how each level feels unique and different from each other. Mr. Bones being the main character is the only resurrected from the dead who is possessed with "blue (good) skeletism", and must find a way to end the forces that are causing the dead to rise with "red (evil) skeletism".

SpectralPlatypus ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/SpectralPlatypus ) completes a game in record time without breaking a bone.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a 2003 action platformer developed by Ubisoft and released for 6th gen consoles. It is the first game in the Sands of Time Trilogy that would include "Warrior Within" and "The Two Thrones". The game features tight platforming and parkour through the castles of Maharaja's palace, and after turning everyone into monsters, the prince must do what he can to undo it.

This TAS by GMP ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/GMP ) beats the game in record time while avoiding using a zipping glitch.

The Land Before Time: Return to the Great Valley is a licensed platforming game and a spinoff of The Land Before Time series of animated movies. It features an original plot inspired by the first and seconds movies about a dinosaur egg thief and the shenanigans that occur when the egg is found. The gameplay itself is inspired by other games such as Croc, with each level being linear levels with puzzles to solve and bosses to defeat, and has extra characters to play with that change the cutscenes depending on who's being played.

Bovice ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Bovice ) in this run shows off how fantastic the dinosaurs are by having them float in the air and bunny hop on water, skipping large sections of each levels thanks to those glitches, and beating the game in record time.

Hammerin' Harry, also known as Daiku no Gen-san (大工の源さん, Carpenter Gen), is a platforming game that was developed by Irem for the arcades. It was later ported over to the NES with some features removed and was released only in Japan and Europe. You play as Harry (or Genzo Tamura" in the Japanese version), a carpenter by trade who finds himself harassed by a rival carpenter company, who destroys his house and kidnaps his friends. He's now out to take revenge with nothing but a huge mallet and smash the rival company's business down until there's nothing left while also rescuing his friends.

Bloopiero ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Bloopiero ) improves on their previous movie by almost 3 seconds thanks to some enemy manipulation, lag reduction, and other strategies.

Once a proud, spiritual people, Mudokons have largely been reduced to slavery. Now they are the disposable, abusable workforce of the Glukkons.

This movie is just as odd as the world it features. Abe for no reason decides to commit a baseness upon Glukkons and destroy all the labor force they have industriously collected. He doesn't care that it's his own mates who will die. He's not concerned that he too will be milled in the end. The only thing he has to say about it is "Oops". Twisted creep.

Samtastic ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Samtastic ) and Dooty ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Dooty ) team up to kill the maximum amount of Mudokons, improving on the previous movie ( https://tasvideos.org/6902M ) by 00:12.085.

Swords & Serpents is a dungeon crawler developed by Imagic for the Intellivision in 1983. With gameplay similar to Gauntlet, one or two players (as the Warrior Prince and Nilrem the Wizard respectively) set off to collect treasures as well as learn about the secrets of the Fortress of the Sinister Serpent, and locate its lair. Due to a lack of free ROM space however, a final boss fight against the Dragon was never programmed, and as such, the game is considered complete by finding an easter egg with the programmer's initials.

Twisted_Eye ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Twisted_Eye ) discovers the initials in record time.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is an action-adventure game developed by Factor 5 and published by LucasArts for the Nintendo 64 in December 2000. Set in 1947, Indiana Jones returns to his duties when Sophia Hapgood, a CIA memeber, informs him that the Soviets are exacvating the ruins of Babylon. Led by Dr. Gennadi Volodnikov, their objective is to grant them a decisive advantage in the Cold War by finding a weapon more powerful than the nuclear bomb. In order to investigate, Sophia hires Jones and travels to their dig site in Babylon, where he finds Sophia's boss, Simon Turner, finding out that Volodnikov is searching for Marduk, a Babylonian god living on a different plane called the Aetherium.

This game is notoriously difficult to emulate properly, to the point where most graphics plugins won't even output the game's graphics properly. Only a select few can display the game properly, including Ares64 (which uses Angrylion under the hood in the BizHawk core used here; normally, it uses paraLLEl).

Bovice ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Bovice ) completes every story level present in the game in record time, relying on clipping inside the various slopes in silly fashion.

--------
PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING: There is rapidly flickering level geometry at many out-of-bounds segments throughout the movie, which may cause epileptic seizures to those affected.

Ninja is a 1986 hack n' slash game that was developed by Sculptured Software for various computer systems, including the Commodore 64, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, and DOS. You play as a ninja whose task is to break into a heavily guarded Japanese castle and steal seven idols. The castle is filled with numerous karate-ka and hired ninjas that attack on sight, but stealth is not an option in this game and you have to fight through them to get the idols. And there appears to be more to the idols as a demon called Akuma is said to reside in the castle.

In this run, eien86 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/eien86 ) plays the Commodore 64 version and exploits the wonky programming to go out of bounds and skip a couple floors to retrieve all the idols and get to Akuma as fast as possible. As it turns out, being killed by Akuma is enough for the game to declare the player as the "winner".

Another World, known as Out of This World in North America and Outer World in Japan, is a cinematic platformer that was originally created for the Amiga and Atari ST computers and was later ported to other computers and video game consoles. It was widely known as a watershed moment for cinematic gaming and computer graphics, having an epic scale to its setting and utilizing rotoscoped vector graphics. The story involves a young physicist named Lester Knight Chaykin, who gets involved in a particle accelerator accident and soon finds himself in an alien world. Lester must now find a way to escape the planet and return to Earth.

In this run, eien86 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/eien86 ) plays the 3DO version of the game, which includes a new epic soundtrack and new detailed backgrounds, and has Lester narrowly escape the alien world of death in record time.

Author: Dmitry_Milk
Full name of work: Final Signal
Compo: Oldskool Demo
Requirements: Pentagon128 or Spectrum +3
Duration: 3 minutes
Size: 37 KB

Comment: Prefer to run on a hardware Spectrum, since emulators
have artifacts due to resampling the high-frequency
PWM to samplerate of the host computer's audio
interface.

If possible, filter out frequencies above 5 kHz. But
keep low frequencies up to appreciate bass tones.

Actually works even on Spectrum 48, but there are
artifacts due to I/O contention.

Jurassic Park for the Sega CD is a licensed point-and-click adventure video game that's based on the movie of the same name. Taking place shortly after the movie, you are an InGen scientist that's tasked with going to the island Isla Nublar to collect eggs from the genetically modified dinosaurs on the island. However, the Biosyn Corporation is out to do the same thing and is sabotaging InGen's efforts, starting with bombing your transport helicopter. You must now get the dinosaur eggs in under 12 hours before Biosyn's hunters do and safely get off the island afterwards.

For this run, TascoDLX ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/TascoDLX ) saves nearly 17 seconds over the previous run, likely more when adjusting for emulation differences. A lot of the time saved came from a more optimized route that cuts down on the number of area transitions, and some of it from other smaller optimizations like exploiting bugs in the game.

Predator is a licensed run 'n gun NES game that is very loosely based on the movie of the same name. Where the movie has a bunch of mercenaries that are hunted down one by one by the titular alien Predator, this game involves a man in a pink jumpsuit (presumably Dutch) running around shooting huge insects, Soviet soldiers, and weird monsters that are straight out of Metroid or Kirby. Every couple of levels, the man fights a resilient alien that resembles the Predator and becomes a giant floating head for its final form. All the while, the game tries to tie the movie's story to the game's strange presentation to questionable results.

Tompa ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Tompa ) here has the man in pink get hurt many more times than Dutch does in the movie in order to boost his speed and blow up the Predator for good in record time.

Sensible Software is a company which is perhaps more famous in the UK than the rest of the world.

Founded in Chelmsford, Essex, UK in 1986 by Jon Hare (A.K.A. Jovial Jops) and Chris Yates (A.K.A. Cuddly Krix), two former school friends, Sensible Software was one of the most successful UK development teams throughout the 8 Bit and 16-Bit eras known for it's innovative and humorous titles, creating no less than seven #1 games in the UK in their 13 year history and scooping many industry awards in the process. Well regarded as eccentric mavericks, the team produced some strange and original games over the years such as the Sensible Soccer games including Sensible World of Soccer, the Cannon Fodder games and Mega lo Mania. They were well known for their humorous small characters, quirky pop video intros and clean, precise and imaginative gameplay.

However although they became masters of the 2D graphics machines, their transition into the 3D era was less successful and after spending considerable time and effort on their ground breaking game Sex 'n' Drugs 'n' Rock 'n' Roll (which they initially signed to Warner Interactive Entertainment), they found the very political hot potato of a game too near the knuckle for Warner's purchaser's GT Software and were subsequently unable to sell it on to any publishers in the pre-GTA days of 1998.

In 1999 Jon and Chris sold Sensible Software to Codemasters, one of the top games publishers in the UK, for an undisclosed sum. Subsequent to Codemasters purchase of Sensible Software in 1999 Jon Hare has designed many games for Codemasters including various versions of Sensibler Soccer and Cannon Fodder.

So for this video I will be covering the history and the games of Sensible Software. So let's go back to the start of the story where Jon and Chris met.

Alley Cat is a platforming game that was initially developed for Atari 8-bit computers before being ported to IBM-compatible PCs and the PCjr. You play as a stray cat that is out to cause trouble in ways cats are typically known for: eating other pets' food, eating live fish, mice and birds, and knocking over hung laundry. In some stages, there are dogs that are out to get the cat and animated brooms that are there to get in your way. Thankfully, there's someone special waiting for you at the end of all this trouble.

In this run, eien86 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/eien86 ) sets the difficulty at the highest setting and plays through every unique room as fast as possible, uniting with stray cat with his love Felicia.

The Hobbit is a text adventure game for the ZX Spectrum and an adaptation of the novel of the same name. It features an ambitious interactive world with a detailed physics system, a time system, and independent AI-controlled NPCs. This makes for a game that can be played in many different ways and can end in even more different ways thanks to the AI system. However, given the ambitious game design and the limitations of the ZX Spectrum, the game also has numerous bugs and quirks that make it seem more like an insane adaptation of The Hobbit.

In this run, DigitalDuck ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/DigitalDuck ) exploits a bug in the text parser that causes a buffer overflow and corrupts the game into letting them skip most of it and beat it in only 4 seconds of real-time gameplay.

Aliens: Neoplasma is a game submitted for the ZX Dev MID Remakes competition. It takes place in the same universe as the Alien movies created by Ridley Scott. In this game, you play as a woman awaken from stasis to find her shipmates all dead and the ship overrun by aliens. As with most Aliens based stories, the AI on the ship has decided that the alien creatures are more important than yourself and is trying to get them back to Earth at all costs. You are tasked with escaping the ship by running around and activating various terminals to open doors to new pathways through the ship; ultimately leading to the escape pod.

DrD2k9 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/DrD2k9 ) rushes to the escape pod in record time.

This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see https://tasvideos.org/6821M
TAS originally published on 2025-11-19

Contra: The Alien Wars is the third entry in the Contra series. Like its predecessors, it is a predominantly side-scrolling shooter with a heavy emphasis on action. The protagonist can fire in eight directions when standing still. New abilities include climbing on walls, grabbing poles and navigating tanks. Parts of scenery can be destroyed. Originally released on the SNES, this version of the game was released on the Game Boy in 1994.

ThunderAxe31 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/ThunderAxe31 ) makes quick work of this game, jumping and shooting his way through aliens as fast as possible while also improving on the previous publication ( https://tasvideos.org/3453M ) by 68 frames. The time appears longer than the previous publication due to emulation differences.

[TAS] DOS One Must Fall 2097 "Ultimate difficulty, maximum power code" in 06:03.623 by eien86

This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see https://tasvideos.org/6794M
TAS originally published on 2025-10-30

One Must Fall 2097 is a fighting game developed by Diversions Entertainment and published by Epic Megagames (now Epic Games) in 1994. Rather than engaging in fighting themselves, humans have created large Human Assisted Robots (HARs), which are then piloted through a physical and mental link to the human pilot. 11 HARs are available for play, each with different stats and abilities along with varied pilot strength, speed and endurance.

eien86 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/eien86 ) completes the single player campaign whilst using in-game codes to unlock Ultimate difficulty and re-distributing the stats to maximum power as well as better agility. Details can be found on the author's submission notes ( https://tasvideos.org/9910S )

This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see https://tasvideos.org/6792M
TAS originally published on 2025-10-29

Test Drive III: The Passion is a racing game for DOS computers and the first game in the Test Drive series to be developed in-house by Accolade. It is also the first game in the series to primarily 3D graphics instead of using just sprites for everything. The main gameplay change is the addition of an open landscape where players don't have to drive on a preset road to get to their destination. Shortcuts can be taken either by driving off-road or taking alternate routes. It also keeps a good chunk of elements introduced in The Duel: Test Drive II such as a weather system, monitoring police, and varied paved road and highway terrain.

In this run, eien86 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/eien86 ) chooses the Chevrolet Corvette CERV III Concept and throws caution to the wind as he drives high in the air and disregards the speed limit to beat all races with record times.

Są one jednak wciąż przedmiotami praw autorskich i z tego powodu właściciele określonej własności intelektualnej mogą walczyć z różnymi formami użytkowania.
