[TAS] SegaCD Revengers of Vengeance "The Quest to Destroy Venum" by alexheights1 in 04:23.673

This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see https://tasvideos.org/7055M
TAS originally published on 2026-04-11

Revengers of Vengeance, also known in Japan as Battle Fantasy (バトル ファンタジー), is a fighting game that was developed by Micronet for the Sega CD. It features simple fighting game mechanics inspired by Street Fighter II and three game modes that make use of it, one of which is the multi-genre "The Quest to Destroy Venum". This mode plays like a role-playing game where the objective is to find the relevant plot items and build up enough strength to defeat the diabolical Venum. Money and experience is earned by partaking in fights or going on quests, the latter which is represented by minigames of vertically scrolling shoot 'em ups.

In this run, alexheights1 ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/alexheights1 ) chooses Psybart for his overwhelming strength and beats "The Quest to Destroy Venum" at the hardest difficulty in record time by manipulating the RNG into giving them the required items without having to fight for them and landing critical hits as often as possible.

Tez-X Spectrum 1137 Super Hang On

Super Hang On Electric Dreams 1988
This isn't a gentle Sunday ride. The game is Super Hard On hard right from the start, and it ramps up mercilessly. Early stages are forgiving enough to hook you in, but by the time you're tackling the longer twistier tracks you're gonna need a perfect run just to extend your time.
Mastering the turbo timing and learning exactly where you can afford to cut corners becomes essential. One wrong move and you can say goodbye to all your progression. I've had this game since 1988 and I've never got off the first stage, so for this video the cheats are on, as I want to experience the whole game. Are you ready to hang on?

B.C.'s Quest for Tires is a 1983 video game developed by Sydney Development and published by Sierra On-Line. It was released for not just the Commodore 64, but also the ColecoVision, Atari 8-bit family, ZX Spectrum, MSX, and Apple II. The game is based on the comic strip B.C. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.C._(comic) ) by Johnny Hart, with the title being a play on the title of the contemporaneous film Quest for Fire.

In the game, the player takes the role of the caveman Thor, who has to rescue his girlfriend, "Cute Chick", who has been kidnapped by a dinosaur. To do this, he must travel on his stone unicycle (actually an impossible wheel) through several levels. Each level has Thor moving from the left to the right, avoiding various dangers.

Walgrey ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Walgrey ) here helps get Thor rolling quickly to his girlfriend so he can rescue her in record time.

Void - CDTVis35 - 2026 - Amiga CDTV Music Disc

Credits for this video goes to Charlie from the Revision demo crew. He did this recording with a real Amiga CDTV. Many thanks!

The video shows apx. 1 minute of each song being played. We might come back with a full video playing the full length of each song.

For now you'll need to download the archive (which will be available soon) and run the music disc on a CDTV, CD32 or through emulation.

Here is an excerpt from the readme-file from the release.

[ Overview ]

"CDTV is 35" is a musicdisc demo especially designed for the Commodore Amiga CDTV and as such its most distinctive feature is the use of Compact Disc music.

[ System requirements ]

A minimum of a PAL Commodore Amiga CDTV or A500 / A500+ with A570:
- Motorola 68000 cpu
- OCS chipset
- 1 MB of memory
- Kickstart 1.3, CDTV OS 1.0

In theory the demo might also run on CD32 and on any CD-ROM based Amiga given that the CD file system supports emulation of CDTV / CD32.

Best experienced with the CDTV connected to a Hi-Fi / audio speakers.

Resident Evil 2, known in Japan as Biohazard 2, is a 1998 survival horror video game originally released for the PlayStation. Developed by Capcom as the second installment in the Resident Evil series, its story takes place two months after the events of the first game, Resident Evil ( https://tasvideos.org/1876M ). The GameCube version features support for vibration and analog controls, as well as a new unlockable minigame called "Extreme Battle", and a "Rookie" mode that enables the player to start the main story with a powerful weapon that features infinite ammunition.

This run by Uroboros ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Uroboros ) beats the bonus mode The 4th Survivor on the GameCube version of the game, which is esentially a speedrun challenge mode built around efficiency and routing. The mode is unlocked after the completion of both Leon A ( https://tasvideos.org/3374M ) and Claire B ( https://tasvideos.org/6909M ) scenarios.

Keio Flying Squadron 2 is a multi-genre game for the Sega Saturn and the sequel to Keio Flying Squadron. Unlike the previous game, it was released only in Japan and Europe. And also different in terms of gameplay, while the first game was strictly a side-scrolling shoot 'em up, this game also includes platforming levels that appear to be inspired by other games such as Donkey Kong Country and Yoshi's Island 2.

Taking place sometime after the first game, Keio Flying Squadron 2 starts out with super powered bunnygirl Rami having a nice dinner with her grandparents when a thief named Yamatai Himiko barges in and steals the family snow globe. After a brief chase, Dr. Pon Eho, the final villain from the previous game, intervenes and steals the snow globe while also dropping a nuke on Rami's home. Luckily, he also drops a map with locations of all the other snow globes. Rami goes off on an adventure to find those snow globes and sell them for some cash.

SpectralPlatypus ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/SpectralPlatypus ) in this run fights off lots of strange and mystifying creatures and bosses to achieve yet another comedic ending for Rami as fast as possible with the help of some platforming tricks and a little pain and gain for Rami.

This video dives into some of the most brutally difficult games ever released on the Commodore 64 — the ones that didn’t just challenge you… they punished you. From pixel-perfect platformers and relentless shooters to awkward control systems and unforgiving design, these are the C64 games that pushed players to their absolute limit.

Featured in this video are notoriously difficult Commodore 64 titles such as The Last V8, Airwolf, The Human Race, China Miner, Cauldron, Monty on the Run, Raid Over Moscow, Uridium, Spindizzy, Spelunker, Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, IO (Into Oblivion), Shadow of the Beast, RoboCop, Cybernoid, Army Moves, Ghosts ’n Goblins, Green Beret, Ninja Spirit, Cobra and more.

Back in the 8-bit era, difficulty was part of the design. There were no checkpoints, no saves, and very little forgiveness — meaning progress came through repetition, memorisation, and sheer determination. Many of these games are still remembered today not just for their gameplay, but for how hard they were to master.

Some were brilliantly designed challenges. Others were just outright punishing. But all of them helped define the Commodore 64 experience.

Which Commodore 64 game destroyed you the most — and did you ever actually finish any of these?

Super Cars -Versions Comparison- Amiga, Atari ST, NES, C64 and much more!

Super Cars is a top-view racing game from Gremlin Interactive, who later produced the Lotus series of games. Stylistically, the game is influenced by Super Sprint.

There are endless tracks at each of the 4 difficulty levels, which can be raced in any order (although the last track raced is made harder than usual). In the races the player wins money, which can be spent on temporary handling and power upgrades, plus armour plating and front/rear shooting missiles that can knock out other racers. The player must finish in the top 3 of each race to progress - initially there are 4 computer opponents, but more are added as the game progresses.

bleem! – The PlayStation Emulator That Ran on a Pentium 166 | Creator Interview

In 1999, one emulator shocked the gaming world.

bleem! was one of the first Sony PlayStation emulators capable of running commercial games smoothly on ordinary PCs — even on systems as modest as a Pentium 166. At a time when PlayStation emulation seemed nearly impossible, bleem! proved it could be done.

In this exclusive interview, Zophar, founder of Zophar’s Domain, one of the earliest and most influential emulation archives on the internet, sits down with Randy Linden, the programmer behind bleem!, to discuss the story behind this groundbreaking emulator.

Released in March of 1999, bleem! quickly became one of the most talked-about pieces of software in the emulation world. It demonstrated that PlayStation games could run on PC hardware with impressive speed and compatibility, pushing the boundaries of what people believed emulation could achieve at the time.

But Randy Linden’s career goes far beyond bleem!. Earlier in the 1990s he developed NES titles including Home Alone and Where’s Waldo?, and he achieved one of the most technically impressive console feats of the era by porting Doom to the Super Nintendo — something many developers believed wasn’t even possible on that hardware.

In this conversation we explore the development of bleem!, the technical challenges of emulating the PlayStation in the late 1990s, and Randy’s long history working on groundbreaking gaming technology.

Topics Covered
• The origins of bleem!
• How PlayStation games ran on a Pentium 166
• The story behind the SNES port of Doom
• Developing Home Alone and Where’s Waldo? for the NES
• Technical challenges of PlayStation emulation in the 1990s
• The legacy of bleem! in emulation history
• Randy's current projects with Limited Run Games

About Zophar’s Domain
Founded in the late 1990s, Zophar’s Domain became one of the internet’s earliest hubs for video game emulation, hosting emulators, ROM tools, SPC music archives, and documentation that helped preserve gaming history for future generations.

Were Games Better on the Amiga or Archimedes?

Was the Acorn Archimedes actually better than the Amiga… or did we get it completely wrong?

In this video, I take a deep dive into one of the most fascinating (and misunderstood) computers of the late 1980s — the Acorn Archimedes. Powered by the revolutionary ARM processor, it should have been a serious contender against the mighty Commodore Amiga… but was it?

We start with the origins of the Archimedes and its impressive tech specs, comparing it to other 16-bit machines of the era. Then we take a look at some of its more obscure and lesser-known games — the kind you rarely see covered — before putting it head-to-head with the Amiga in a showdown of five major titles.

So… were games actually better on the Archimedes? Or is the Amiga still king?

Let’s find out.

Elements of Green: time-lapse pixel art

"Elements of Green" by Prowler (Klas Benjaminsson).

Made for the graphics compo at Datastorm 2013 (placed 1:st), and for the demo "15 years of fame". Sorry it had to be a party-version for the compo - but time beat me big time this year! You can download the final version here:
www.antialias.se/prowler_lib/elements_of_green.png
Greetings to everyone at the party!
The idea was to visualize the 3 elements of the forest and make them blend into the woods seamlessly. The picture didn't really turn out the way I hoped and the composition went off balance, but it was fun to make it anyways.

Big thanks to Abyssal Plains (Maurizio Giambrone) for letting me use his amazing tune "Orange River", featured in the album "Hemispherical Sky".

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is perhaps the most well-known game in the Zelda franchise. It was the first game in the franchise to be in 3D, and it revolutionized the idea of 3D adventure games.

The plot follows a young boy named Link, who is set on a quest to stop the evil Ganondorf from obtaining the Triforce to achieve godlike power. This eventually leads Link into traveling 7 years into the future where Ganondorf has already taken over the kingdom. With the help of his fairy companion Navi, Link must do what he can to bring down Ganondorf from power.

In this TAS by PancakeTurtle ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/PancakeTurtle ) and Migu ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Migu ), Link collects every item, piece of equipment, quest item and Skulltula icon as well as having 20 hearts, double defense, double magic and the Giant's Wallet along with clearing 36 main heart pieces, 100 unique Gold Skulltulas and receiving the Mask of Truth from the shop without exploiting the Stale Reference Manipulation glitch (which allows for ACE), then defeats Ganon in record time.

This is the first published Ocarina of Time TAS done on the Ocarina of Time Practice ROM, which has a built-in macro playback feature, which this TAS makes use of. Footage from a real NTSC N64 was used for capturing the TAS and later encoding it. A version with audio commentary by ZFG is available right here ( https://youtu.be/EwT4l9Nh1LQ ).

Top 20 Greatest Rob Hubbard C64 Songs - The God of SID

This is my personal Top 20 Best of Rob Hubbard C64 Songs, the GOD of the fantastic Commodore 64 sound chip SID (Sound Interface Device). For you who don't know who Rob Hubbard is: he is an english composer and has made the best and the greatest video game music during that old school retro period for the Commodore 64. On any given top 20 lists of all time for the C64, Rob Hubbard would have half of his songs on that said list.

The fantastic SID apparently has similarities to early synths which is something Hubbard knew quite well. Stuff like Pulse Width Modulation, ring modulation and Low Frequency Oscillation were things that he understood. This allowed him to write some educational music software as his first commercial product, and from then on onwards he became the legend of old school retro video game music for the C64.

The Triathron [sic] (ザ・トライアスロン) is a sports video game for the Famicom that was released only in Japan. It simulates all three stages of a triathlon — swimming, cycling, and running — through button mashing to go faster. Players can choose from six athletes to play as and four courses from all around the world. It also has RPG elements where skill points can be gained by completing stages and investing them into the athlete's stats for better performances.

AmaizumiUni ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/AmaizumiUni ) in this run plays on Special mode, which changes up the stages to include strange things such as sharks in the water, UFOs in space, and holes on the road, and wins first place as fast as possible. Most of the obstacles in the third stage are skipped by tripping and running out of bounds.

This is a port of the 2D platforming game Rayman ( https://tasvideos.org/3371M ) on the Playstation to the GBC. The GBC port is much shorter than the original Rayman, and many characters and locations are absent. However, the game has surprisingly good graphics for the platform and surprisingly poor imitations of the music from the sequel included in this one.

Rayman has no arms or legs, but that doesn't stop him from making surprisingly quick progress through this slow-paced game.

SuperSqank ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/SuperSqank ) improves on the previous movie ( https://tasvideos.org/6657M ) by 02:16.921 thanks to a myriad of new exploits and wall clips. For information on these improvements, reading the authors submission comments ( https://tasvideos.org/10236S ) is highly recommended.

Solar Jetman: Hunt for the Golden Warpship is a space adventure game by Zippo Games and Rare where the main excitement comes from the physics. In the game, you explore planets with a small pod you fly around, towing fuel tanks and other artifacts back to the mother ship, often from planets with a ridiculous level of gravity and narrow hazardous caverns. Your goal is to find all the pieces of the mythical Golden Warpship while having enough fuel and lives to make it through the journey.

This run by ChucJo ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/ChucJo ) saves about 6 minutes over the previous run thanks to the discovery of a new glitch that allows the ship to clip though the planets' surfaces and bypass a lot of the hazardous caverns and another glitch that warps the pod from Planet 1 to Planet 12. For more information on these glitches and the routing strategies, you can read the author's notes ( https://tasvideos.org/10244S ).

Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly is a platform/adventure game released in 2003. It's the first Spyro game not to be developed by Spyro creators Insomniac Games, instead being developed by Check Six Studios and Equinoxe Entertainment. The game is infamous for its rushed nature and being riddled with bugs, with many considering it one of the worst games of the franchise.

In this run, Spikestuff ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Spikestuff ) & inconsistent ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/inconsistent )abuses a seam in the base of the portal leading to the final boss, which allows the entire game to be skipped and completed in just over a minute of total game play. This is also a 00:13.650 improvement over the previous publication ( https://tasvideos.org/3377M ).

Madden NFL 98 is a sports video game that was published by EA Sports for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn and later saw ports to Microsoft Windows, SNES, and Sega Genesis. It is part of the Madden NFL series of video games that have seen annual releases since 1990. The PlayStation and Sega Saturn versions are notable for having improved AI, making the game more challenging while at the same time satisfying to play.

In this run, FigureFarter ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/FigureFarter ) plays the SNES version of the game and its "Official Tryout Registration" mode for the position of Quarterback, getting the maximum score in all the exercises an MVP American football player has to undergo.

CoinOptimus Arcade

All games preview of "CoinOptimus Arcade" by wizbang66. It contains arcade and console games. 10 secs per game.

Background arcade sounds: unknown author
Samples in music: unknown authors
Final G&W music, outro music: M.R.G.

Should You find and download it? I may say: DEFINITELLY YES! It contains a few of great arcade games, that unavailable in any CoinOps build.

What does author said about it?

"This is a build that preserves essentials and also adds some
missing games that in my opinion deserves to be included. But
also deletes a lot of space fillers - If you miss anything then
add them yourself at your own discression.

Credits of course go out to the original creators and posters.

First some technical info - Vredist / DirectX if needed -
Download and install necessary files.

What you get is the CoinOps Legends / RetroFe UI base with
scuffed bezels and artwork as seen.

I´ve done my best to reduce size but retain quality - A lot
of space was saved through lossless compression of media files
and deletion of non essential content.

837 Games in this version within 32GB compressed file.

Perhaps notable additions to this "CoinOptimus" version are;

Firefox - Atari Laserdisc
Blaster - Williams
Frenzy - Stern
Space Duel - Atari
Journey - Bally Midway
Night Driver - Atari
Boot Hill - Midway

Vector Games
Armor Attack - Cinematronics
Omega Race - Midway
Red Baron - Atari
Space Fury - Sega / Gremlin
Cosmic Chasm - Cinematronics / GCE
Aztarac - Centuri
Barrier - Vectorbeam / Cinematronics
Eliminator - Sega / Gremlin
Quantum - GCC / Atari
RipOff - Cinematronics
Solar Quest - Cinematronics
Starhawk - Cinematronics
Space Wars - Cinematronics

ZX Spectrum - Ultimate Play the Game
Cookie
PSSST
Atic Atac
Lunar Jetman

Plus more - Browse and find them all if you are familiar
with previous builds of Legends / Forgotten Worlds / Deluxe.

Configuration to fit your system and setup may apply.

Please Enjoy.."

Diamond City Radio reimagined in true 8-bit style – as if Fallout 4 had been released in 1982 on the Commodore 64.
This version is fully recreated using classic SID-style sounds, capturing the retro charm of early home computers while keeping the unmistakable vibe of Diamond City Radio.

No samples, no modern synths – just pure old-school sound design inspired by the legendary C64 SID 8580 chip.
A nostalgic crossover between post-apocalyptic Fallout atmosphere and classic 8-bit gaming vibes.

Perfect for fans of Fallout, retro gaming, chiptune music, and vintage computers.

8-Bit / SID 8580
Recorded on a real Commodore 64
Diamond City Radio tribute

If you enjoy this kind of retro reimagining, feel free to like, share, and check out more C64 SID covers on the channel!

08:22 It's a Man (Betty Hutton)
10:48 Uranium Fever (Elton Britt)
12:59 The End of the World (Skeeter Davis)

20:39 Crawl out through the Fallout (Sheldon Allman)
22:55 Sixty Minute Man (Billy Ward)
25:25 Wonderful Guy (Tex Beneke)
27:19 Easy Living (Billie Holiday)
This was some awesome collection made by hermit. I remixed the tune maybe by "The Ink Spots", which was also the intro Theme of Fallout 1. My tune starting at 15:29. I thought hermit added a fade out for this tune but I guess it looped infinite so I switched to the next song at 20:39 after I realised it won't stopped otherwise ^----^
Special thanks to hermit for doing this and compose all that great renditions. Also special thanks goes to Shogoon, who did the tune at 8:21.

Mr. Bones is a 1996 multi-genre game for the Sega Saturn. Conceptualized by Ed Annunziata, the main developer behind the Ecco the Dolphin series, the game feels rather avant-garde in its presentation as well as how each level feels unique and different from each other. Mr. Bones being the main character is the only resurrected from the dead who is possessed with "blue (good) skeletism", and must find a way to end the forces that are causing the dead to rise with "red (evil) skeletism".

SpectralPlatypus ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/SpectralPlatypus ) completes a game in record time without breaking a bone.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a 2003 action platformer developed by Ubisoft and released for 6th gen consoles. It is the first game in the Sands of Time Trilogy that would include "Warrior Within" and "The Two Thrones". The game features tight platforming and parkour through the castles of Maharaja's palace, and after turning everyone into monsters, the prince must do what he can to undo it.

This TAS by GMP ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/GMP ) beats the game in record time while avoiding using a zipping glitch.

The Land Before Time: Return to the Great Valley is a licensed platforming game and a spinoff of The Land Before Time series of animated movies. It features an original plot inspired by the first and seconds movies about a dinosaur egg thief and the shenanigans that occur when the egg is found. The gameplay itself is inspired by other games such as Croc, with each level being linear levels with puzzles to solve and bosses to defeat, and has extra characters to play with that change the cutscenes depending on who's being played.

Bovice ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Bovice ) in this run shows off how fantastic the dinosaurs are by having them float in the air and bunny hop on water, skipping large sections of each levels thanks to those glitches, and beating the game in record time.

It carries over the bonus content originally found on the Playstation 1 port of the game as well as some additional features to give some quality of life improvements.

Fortranm ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Fortranm ) plays through the game defeating all of the major bosses in the game while avoiding as many glitches as possible.

Hammerin' Harry, also known as Daiku no Gen-san (大工の源さん, Carpenter Gen), is a platforming game that was developed by Irem for the arcades. It was later ported over to the NES with some features removed and was released only in Japan and Europe. You play as Harry (or Genzo Tamura" in the Japanese version), a carpenter by trade who finds himself harassed by a rival carpenter company, who destroys his house and kidnaps his friends. He's now out to take revenge with nothing but a huge mallet and smash the rival company's business down until there's nothing left while also rescuing his friends.

Bloopiero ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Bloopiero ) improves on their previous movie by almost 3 seconds thanks to some enemy manipulation, lag reduction, and other strategies.

Once a proud, spiritual people, Mudokons have largely been reduced to slavery. Now they are the disposable, abusable workforce of the Glukkons.

This movie is just as odd as the world it features. Abe for no reason decides to commit a baseness upon Glukkons and destroy all the labor force they have industriously collected. He doesn't care that it's his own mates who will die. He's not concerned that he too will be milled in the end. The only thing he has to say about it is "Oops". Twisted creep.

Samtastic ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Samtastic ) and Dooty ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Dooty ) team up to kill the maximum amount of Mudokons, improving on the previous movie ( https://tasvideos.org/6902M ) by 00:12.085.

Swords & Serpents is a dungeon crawler developed by Imagic for the Intellivision in 1983. With gameplay similar to Gauntlet, one or two players (as the Warrior Prince and Nilrem the Wizard respectively) set off to collect treasures as well as learn about the secrets of the Fortress of the Sinister Serpent, and locate its lair. Due to a lack of free ROM space however, a final boss fight against the Dragon was never programmed, and as such, the game is considered complete by finding an easter egg with the programmer's initials.

Twisted_Eye ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Twisted_Eye ) discovers the initials in record time.

Jet Set Willy II+ is a update to the original Jet Set Willy II by its original creator, Derrick P. Rowson. It was first released in 2016 and features a huge addition of items to collect and new rooms to explore. It also has rooms from the original game tweaked so they can be less frustrating to play and lots of bugs fixed.

Gameplay starts at 3:52 in the encodes.

--------
PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING: The overscan area produces flashing lights every time an item is collected, an arrow is shot or when Willy dies throughout the movie, which may cause epileptic seizures to those affected.
