The past few years have been a bumpy ride, but I have now successfully completed two different comic series for Omake Theater. I'm pleased.

Even though I mentioned plans to launch a KickStarter campaign for a full-color Friday 4Koma book in the past, I intend to launch Yōikoma first. It will be easier to put together and cost less to print since it will have about 50 fewer pages of content. I will discuss that more in the future.

As far as new content for Omake Theater, there will be a brand new series launching in the next few weeks. Keep an eye here or on one of the other various social media platforms for updates.

And with that said, thank you. I love making webcomics and always have. I appreciate all the support I have received over the years, and I hope to continue earning your patronage for many years to come. Thank you.

I sympathize with the struggle of an ongoing narrative-structured series. You work towards a big culmination (i.e. Avengers: Endgame), but what do you do when you've told a complete story and you're not ready to stop? You invent new struggles and antagonists and hope they're well received. Sometimes a good, complete story that makes its audience long for more is better than churning out new content that underwhelms and potentially tarnishes the legacy of the past.

"If you can remove all the artwork from your comic and it still makes sense, then you are not making a comic. You're writing a novel."

Now if you can remove all the words and the comic still makes sense, that's just good layout and storytelling. What kind of magical wizard could do stuff like that? Hmm…

Even though most of the popular anime, manga and light novels skew towards a younger demographic, I feel the foundation of isekai benefits from an older protagonist. Someone who’s happiness has been crushed by the enormous weight of an unfulfilled life makes a better lead than someone who still has a bright future ahead of them. Especially when given a second chance at another life.

Back in January, my computer of ten years finally bit the big one. The good news was that all of the source files for the comics and such were safe. The bad news was that all of the shortcuts, brush sizes, and automated actions that I used to create Yōikomas were lost. Besides that, I had been using older versions of applications (i.e. Manga Studio instead of Clip Studio Paint) and I had to relearn a lot of functionality. Outside of my personal production schedule, there were some personal matters that transpired.

Needless to say, days turned into weeks, which inevitably turned into months, and here we are.

But I've been pacing myself for a little while now, as I have been building a backlog of strips. I'm going to do my best to stick to a Monday update schedule for the website going forward.
