Following the set up for this chapter in Chapter 15, our study turns to the actual pouring out of the bowls which contain the plagues of God’s wrath. It should be remembered that these are not literal events that we are looking for in the future, but symbolic representations of the judgement of God, and how horrible it will be when it is poured out on the unrighteous. It should also be remembered that God’s judgement is also about the deliverance of his people, not just the punishment of the wicked.

A person becomes a Christian, is justified in Christ when upon hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ, he responds in faith. He does not then transition into a salvation that is based on how good a person can be, but he continues to depend on his faith in Christ. It is a faith that influences how we live, but it is faith nonetheless. Faith is not only how we begin in Christ, it is also how we continue in Him.
