Friday is here! How are you holding up? Did you have a good week? A crazy one? The mayhem that is May is certainly in full swing over here with various school events and activities popping up left and right. One particularly cute event? Muffins for Mom at Rhett’s preschool!

I think he nailed it with those answers. I certainly do love ice cream, sleepovers, hugs and “I love yous.”

Today I’m off to the big kids’ school for an end-of-year picnic with Chase and then the weekend begins! For all the mothers, grandmothers and mother figures out there, I hope your weekend is especially wonderful! Now let’s dive into this weeks roundup of favorites, shall we?

My mom was the queen of always having cards for various occasions on hand. If we ever needed a birthday card at the last minute for a birthday party or a “thinking of you” card to give to someone going through something challenging, my mom would whip out her stash and we would go “shopping” through her arsenal of cards. I’ve taken to doing the same thing because so often we forget we need a card until the last second. I recently ordered this box of birthday cards and have been so impressed. They’re all simple yet beautiful and higher quality than a lot of other bulk birthday cards I’ve seen out there. I also ordered this giant box of thank you cards from Amazon last year that I’m still loving and working my way through. Hooray for little shortcuts like these that seem to make life a little easier!

ALOHA Chocolate Cherry Bar

I know I’ve raved about ALOHA bars for years but I love so much about these bars from their clean ingredient list to their protein and high fiber (10g!) content. They’re also a big hit in out house as every single member of our family eats one nearly every single day. Needless to say, we go through a LOT of these bars!!! Over the holiday season, I ordered a ridiculous number of boxes of white chocolate peppermint ALOHA bars (my absolute favorite flavor) and I’m happy to report we still have a few boxes remaining. I am aware, however, that my stash won’t last forever and there are a few other go-to flavors in my ALOHA arsenal as well. And now there’s a new (to me) one!! Chocolate cherry!!! Hot dang, this flavor blew me away! If you are someone who likes dark chocolate and a strong cherry flavor, add this one to your must-try list. It has major dessert vibes and quickly claimed a spot in my ALOHA top three: 1. White Chocolate Peppermint 2. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip 3. Chocolate Cherry. YUM. Also, for anyone hoping to try ALOHA bars, my link should get you 20% off, but I think the discount may only apply to first-time customers. Worth shot though!!

Fellow ALDI lovers, how good is the ALDI Finds section lately!? I swear every time I browsed that eclectic aisle, I walk away with something I never knew I needed. And these past few weeks I feel like the ALDI Finds have been especially good! I found a cute little drawstring/crossbody woven bag, a few Disney finds (ya know, just in case we do another Disney cruise or a trip to the Disney parks), Fourth of July/Memorial Day decor and some gardening supplies.

Also, can I just give my mom a shout out for this adorable little stocking stuffer? She gave me this embroidered quarter keeper for my ALDI quarter and it’s been one of those oddly helpful finds I keep in my purse so I’m never left digging around for a quarter. (For those who aren’t ALDI regulars, you use a quarter to unlock your shopping cart and you get your quarter back once you return your cart.)

Genre: Romance / My Rating: B

There was a lot I liked about this book — a peek into the job of a rescue swimmer in the United States Coast Guard (probably my favorite part of the book), “The Gals” (a group of retirees who live in a cottage compound of sorts in Key West), and the easy-to-read, breezy nature of the book (exactly what I was looking for after reading Yesteryear — yeesh). The Love Haters wasn’t the best romance book I’ve read but it was a fun, lighthearted escape novel I enjoyed. It follows Katie, a woman on a very reluctant journey to self love, who finds herself on assignment for work to film a promo video for the Coast Guard. The tricky part? She doesn’t know how to swim and assured her boss she does because she needs this assignment to keep her job. Oh and the rescue swimmer she’ll be filming? Hutch is her coworker’s incredibly good looking older brother who has no idea she can’t swim.

Gather around! I have something you’re going to want to reach through your screen and grab the second you see it.

See what I mean!? Are these no-bake oatmeal cookies calling to you or what!?

Unfortunately since grabbing cookies through the computer or phone screen is not a possibility (yet!? I mean, who knows these days…), hopefully you’ll be (almost as) excited to know that the no-baked oatmeal cookie recipe I’m sharing with you today is one you can whip up in no time at all. It’s one of those “emergency” desserts I like to keep in the back of my mind when my sweet tooth starts raging but turning on the oven and pouring a ton of time into a recipe is less than appealing. Wait, is this why some genius cookie lover out there invented no-bake cookies?! Whatever the reason no-bake cookies became a thing years and years ago, I’m certainly glad they’re an option for us cookie lovers out there who may not be fueled with the desire to turn on the oven and make a mess of our kitchen.

How are you doing? How was your weekend? Our weekend was a very sports-filled weekend and that kicked off on Friday night with the conclusion of the spring rec soccer season for our big kids.

Remember when I thought I had the “multiple kids in sports craziness” hacked by booking both big kids’ soccer practices and games on the same nights of the week only to have things get shuffled up on me at the last minute with games planned on opposite ends of town and practices scheduled on separate days? Well, that change-up resulted in our busiest sports season so far but it’s coming to a close and ended up being more manageable than I thought. While I wish we all could’ve been together on Friday nights for games and that Chase and Ryder would’ve had the chance to cheer for each other on the field a time or two, it worked out well for the most part.

Ryan and I alternated who attended which big kids’ game each Friday and I was on Ryder duty on Friday night. Ryder’s last game of the season ended up being the best one and it was so fun watch!

(Tee: Old Navy / Joggers: Evereve / Sneakers: Nike / Bag: Clare V.)

Ryder loves soccer and plays constantly in the backyard with his brothers and Ryan but every time we asked if he wanted to play on a team, his answer was always a strong no. Something shifted this spring and all of the sudden he said he did want to play on a team. He crushed this season and did so, so well. We are so proud of our wonderfully introverted little homebody for stepping out of his comfort zone to do something that brings him joy.

Saturday

Saturday morning was a lovely slow-paced morning with zero plans on the agenda. Gosh, I love that feeling! We eased into the day with homemade waffles for breakfast and squishy-making!

We used the same Amazon kit we’ve used in the past to make a few squishy friends and it’s always a hit. (Tip: If you get this kit, make sure the mold is a little damp with the water solution before filling to help them easily shake out when you submerge them in the water.)

Ryan and I also alternated his and hers workouts and I did a Move Together challenge workout!

For any fellow challengers, within the challenge there are four starred priority workouts and those are the workouts I’m committed to hitting each week. There are an additional two workouts I may sprinkle in if I have the time or desire, but my main goal is to do the 30-45 minute priority workouts each week, as this is something I know I can successfully complete. Saturday’s workout was actually one of the priority workouts I had to miss during the week so I’m glad I could squeeze it in!

After my workout, I headed home and showered and then we all ate an early lunch. Our afternoon plans took us to Discovery Place Science in the city!

It was a misty, dreary day, so an indoor activity was calling to us and this one fit the bill. We’ve been long-time members of both Discovery Place Kids and Discovery Place Science since Chase was a toddler and continue to love these local gems.

On our way home, we stopped by a local bakery for some sweet treats before greeting Comet and taking him for a walk as the sun finally started to emerge from behind the clouds.

Our evening plans had us back on turf for Chase’s flag football game.

Our May craziness kicked of a little early this week with multiple school events including a 4th grade economics fair (really cool), a preschool strawberry picking field trip (my last one — ah!) and a 2nd grade performance. It was all so sweet and really fun to see what our big kids have been working on come to fruition.

Tonight we’ll be heading to the soccer fields again for the final games of the season for Chase and Ryder and then on Saturday it’s another flag football game for Chase. We also have plans to get together with friends today (the boys are all off of school) and do a bonfire! I hope you all have a great weekend and hope to see ya back here again next week.

And now let’s dive right into my weekly roundup of favorites!

These Amazon strappy sandals deserve a shout out this morning because we’re entering the time of year when I’ll be wearing them on repeat. I love the added interest from the multiple straps — a nice alternative to a basic flip flop! — and they remind me so much of TKEES sandals but for a fraction of the price. The best part though? They’re legitimately comfortable. The small straps don’t dig and there’s just enough cushioning on the bottom to protect your foot from feeling every lump and bump you may step on.

Ryan: “Hey is that a new phone charger?”

Me: “Yes! But this one is fast-charging.”

Ryan: “How do you know that.”

Me: “Umm… Marketing?”

Ha! But really, the marketing on this phone charger got me on Amazon and ya know what? It didn’t steer me wrong! This little charger is easily the fastest charger I’ve used for my phone. The marketing gimmicks that sold me were the fast charging time but also the fact that this charger uses technology that preserves your phone’s battery life. (It may all be in my head, but I honestly started questioning whether one or two of my previous chargers were causing my phone battery to drain faster after using. Is this possible!?) It can also charge three devices at once (two built-in USB-C cables plus an extra USB-C port), so you can charge your phone, laptop, earbuds, etc. all at once if needed. I’m a fan!!

What a fun game!!! This game went in Chase’s Christmas stocking this year and our entire family loves it. It’s incredibly fast-paced and the kind of game our entire family, adults and kids alike, get really into. It’s also fast to learn which is always a perk! You’re essentially working to complete separate piles of matching clothing using cards that rapidly switch out from the middle pile all at one time. It’s a whirlwind! Also, I realize it says it’s for ages 8+ but Rhett at 5.5 years old can play himself, though if he wants a shot a winning, he has to pair up with me or Ryan.

Whoa, what a book. You know those books you read that just kind of make you feel icky the entire time you read them? That was Yesteryear for me. I didn’t like the main character at all and so much about the book was just plain uncomfortable to read… and yet I could not put it down. Which, now that I think about it, is kind of an odd parallel to draw because at the heart of this book is a polarizing “tradwife” Instagram influencer named Natalie who has millions of followers and produces content her fans (and haters) are addicted to consuming, dissecting and vehemently supporting or ripping apart. She certainly had me captivated. Phew. When Natalie wakes up in a life that isn’t hers, the book takes a turn as she’s forced to face hardships she never imagined and questions why she is where she is and how this is possibly her new reality. This book caused a lot of internal dialog in my brain and I think it would make an absolutely fantastic book club book.

On the docket was Little Giants, a childhood favorite of Ryan’s that he felt confident our kids would enjoy as it wasn’t too scary and fit right in their current obsession with all things football. I had never seen it before and thoroughly enjoyed the movie but not nearly as much as our kids who absolutely cracked up at this one!

When I shared our boys’ newfound love for Little Giants on Instagram yesterday, I shared that part of the reason they loved it was that it wasn’t scary at all. Our kids are not exactly the bravest when it comes to movies and shows (even ominous music is enough to spook them sometimes) and I had so, so many DMs from you guys who have children who are the same way. This prompted me to ask for your recommendations for movies your kids have loved that didn’t freak our your little ones who might be a little more sensitive to scary things. I received so many great suggestions! I wanted to compile them into a blog post today to make it easy to reference next time you’re looking for a not-too-scary movie to watch with little ones.

The list below comes from YOUR recommendations but I have put an asterisk (*) by the movies I added myself or the movies I agree with from your recs that our boys have watched and loved so you may easily see the ones I stand by. I hope this list is helpful the next time you’re ready to pop some popcorn and curl up on the couch with your kids!

I have a short and semi-random blog post for you guys this morning, but it’s something that keeps tumbling around in my brain. Today is my birthday and birthdays have a way of making me feel reflective.

I was talking to Ryan earlier about some of my best memories from last year. Our family vacation to Alaska came to mind. So did camping, our Disney cruise, visiting family in Florida, lake days, long walks with my dogs, a whirlwind trip to Vegas with Ryan, girls’ weekends, zip-lining in Asheville with the boys… it was all so good.

But one memory really caught me off guard. It was one of those “grief and joy can coexist” memories that continue to remind me just how wild of a ride life is that some of our hardest moments can spit out some of our most tender memories.

After Pepper died very suddenly, we did almost 2 weeks of family sleepovers with the boys. They slept on our camping mats in our bedroom and we just got through it together. These sleepovers ended up being etched into my heart forever because they led to so many sweet, silly and tender moments. So we did one again last night and we’ll do it again tonight to sandwich my 41st birthday in sleepovers.

Life isn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but family sleepovers make it pretty darn close. I know deep in my bones having back-to-back family sleepovers with my kids all in one room will be something I will deeply long to re-live in the future. I’m holding onto it very tightly right now and feeling like a very lucky 41-year-old today.

Woop! Do you guys have anything fun planned for this weekend? We’ll be spending time at the soccer fields and football field this weekend and also have a fishing derby on the agenda. We had to miss the fishing competition last year and it’s one of our family’s favorite local events, so we cannot wait to attend again tomorrow morning. And, honestly, I’m also just REALLY ready to catch my breath and spend some time at home after so much back-to-back travel.

I feel so behind on so many different things right now (nearly 3 weeks without a second to myself will do that, I suppose) and am hoping this weekend will help me feel like my life is back on track a little bit. Can I just say how thrilled I was to sit down at my local coffee shop and type up this blog post!? (I usually start this blog post early in the week and add to it as I think of more things I’m loving as the week progresses.) It felt great to be typing away on my keyboard and chatting with all of you! So let’s dive right on in, shall we?

Have you guys heard of Koala Eco? I first tried one of their products (the lemon eucalyptus rosemary hand soap) at a friend’s house and immediately asked her about it after I washed my hands in her bathroom. The scent was bright and fresh and just so summery! It was the kind of natural citrusy clean scent I knew would oddly make doing dishes feel more enjoyable so I asked her about it. (She’s one of those women who are the most natural of the natural so I also knew it would be a clean living product made without synthetic fragrance which further piqued my interest.) Apparently the company makes more than just hand soap — they have a whole home cleaning line — and I quickly found myself ordering their lemon myrtle & mandarin dish soap, hand soap and lotion to keep in our kitchen and half bath off the kitchen as well. Since I’m already on my second order, I figured it was worth highlighting here for anyone who might be in the market for clean but lovely scented natural home products. (I truly believe this one is nice enough to gift if you need a Mother’s Day gift idea, especially their glass-bottle hand soaps!)

Who wants to do this 5-week challenge together!? I initially signed up to try Madeline Moves/Moves app workouts through the fall Tighter Together challenge and it completely hooked me on these workouts. The challenge is now called Move Together and it officially begins on Monday!! You better believe I signed up for this one so fast. I’ve become a superfan of these workouts for a myriad of reasons but let’s break them down a bit so you know what you’re getting into if you plan to do the challenge.

Built-In Mobility and Stability Training: HALLELUJAH!!! This is honestly one of the most important things for me, especially as I get older. I’ve had injuries pop up and know neglecting this aspect of my training is largely to blame. I love the way these workouts incorporate stability and mobility work in a way that makes it fun AND in a way that I know I’ll actually do, as I’m very likely to skip this work when left to my own devices. I’ve been so impressed by just how many of the exercises in these workouts mirror the exercises my physical therapist has me do.

Home + Gym Options: The workouts have the option to toggle back and forth between home and gym options which I love for flexibility. I did the home workouts almost exclusively for months but I also like the gym option if I have time to get to the gym and want to utilize some of the machines at my disposal. To do the home workouts, you’ll need a wide range of dumbbells, a mat, an elevated surface (I utilize my Stakt Pro mat a LOT during these workouts — PBFINGERS15 saves 15%), a bench (not necessary as there are swaps available but I’ve found it helpful), loop bands and a resistance band.

Workouts You Do On Your Own Schedule: This is huge for me! You have access to all of the workouts in the challenge to do anytime as they fit into your schedule. Workouts are presented on a calendar and during the challenge, I do like doing the workout of the day on that specific day because I find it extra motivating (so many other people are doing the same workout and sharing). However, you can absolutely complete a workout before or after the allotted day which I often have to do at least once a week when life gets in the way.

30 and 60 Minute Options: It’s SO helpful to have two time options available for every single workout. The 30-minute workouts are so good and just as effective, especially if you’re picking heavy weights and training to failure.

Stimulating Workouts + Progressive Overload Training: I’ve been consistently doing Moves app workouts since last fall and still find them stimulating and motivating. Also, from an exercise science perspective, the Moves app team has the workouts majorly dialed in as they focus a lot on progressive overload (huge for muscle growth!). All workouts include exercises listed out for you to follow at your own pace along with short video tutorials of each exercise, modifications (up or down) and a place to track the weights you use week over week to help you progress. I listen to my own music (or sometimes an audiobook) when I do the workouts though I’ll sometimes pause my music if I need to listen to a more detailed exercise demo.

Custom Macro Counts: The challenges provide you with custom macro counts which is typically a service you’d pay a pretty penny for elsewhere. I’ve tracked my protein on and off after my osteopenia diagnosis and found these numbers really interesting. You’ll be given maintenance macros or fat-loss macros you can follow depending on your goals or you can ignore this completely if you just want to do the workouts and not worry about the nutrition side of things. Also, the macros provided will fuel you and not deprive you! No 1,200 calorie diets here!!

Macro-Friendly Recipes: A recipe PDF is also provided to challenge members with macro-friendly recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I loved trying some new higher protein recipes during the last challenge and feel like this resource is a fantastic one, as the recipe PDF includes photos of each recipes, macro breakdowns and they’re a...

The post-cruise swaying we all felt after we disembarked the Disney Fantasy cruise ship has dissipated and we’re now left only with the very best memories from our first Disney cruise. At the risk of sounding extremely cliche, our first Disney cruise was a truly magical vacation.

We had the most incredible time and know deep in our hearts the 5-night cruise we took with my parents and my sister’s family is a cruise we’ll remember and treasure forever. Did I tear up multiple times on the cruise? You bet I did. As I get older, I only further appreciate every moment I have with my parents and being on one ship with my mom and dad and my sister and her wonderful family — all of us in one place, undistracted and fully enjoying each other — was a true gift. Swirl those feelings around with the gratitude I feel for my mom and dad and the childhood they gave to me and my sister and this Disney cruise was the perfect storm of nostalgia, joy and family.

Disney Fantasy 5 Day Cruise

I toyed around with the best way to share our experience on our first Disney cruise on the blog and settled on a general recap of our five-day cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy ship with little tips, highlights and recommendations included. Buckle up because this is a very long blog post but it’s also the kind of post I would’ve wanted to read before our trip when I was craving allllll the info and details about a Disney cruise aboard the Fantasy!

Our first Disney cruise was a five day adventure we selected mainly because my mom was the queen of cruise research and everything she read led her to believe the Fantasy was a great ship for families with young kids. Our itinerary for our five day Disney Fantasy cruise looked like this:

Day One: Board the Fantasy at Port Canaveral in Florida + Embarkation

Day Two: Disney’s Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island located in the Bahamas)

Day Three: Lookout Cay (private peninsula located at the southern end of the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas)

Day Four: Nassau, Bahamas

Day Five: Day at Sea (no stops)

Day Six: Arrive back at Port Canaveral and disembark

Three stops in the Bahamas felt manageable, fun and not-too-intense for our crew of 13 that included seven kids ranging in age from 10 months to 10 years old.

Disney Fantasy Cruise Day One: Embarkation on Disney Fantasy

We split up the 8+ hour drive from our home in North Carolina to Port Canaveral by driving to my parents’ place in Jacksonville, Florida the day before we were set to embark on our cruise. We saw enough people experience cruise travel disasters during our Alaska family vacation to plan for a buffer day before our cruise was set to leave and this worked well for us.

On Sunday morning, the day we set sail, we drove to the port and arrived mid-morning. Up first was luggage drop-off and we found the curbside luggage drop-off system to be quite efficient. We were then directed into the terminal where we went through security with our carry-on bag (which we mainly filled with swimsuits, goggles and water bottles) and waited until it was time to board, as we arrived a little before our boarding time. (This was the only time during the trip that we were asked to present our passports.)

The coolest thing happens when you board a Disney cruise ship: Your family’s name is announced and you’re greeted by smiling crew members and Disney characters waving to you from the balcony. It immediately sets the tone for such a magical experience!

Oceaneer Club + Oceaneer Lab (Disney Fantasy Kids’ Clubs)

Up first for our family was making our way to the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, the two connecting kids’ clubs for potty-trained children ages 3-10. We were strongly advised to make this a “first stop” after boarding to avoid long lines and we were glad we did.

We toured the facilities and registered our kids for the magic bands that would give them access to the kids’ clubs on board the ship and at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay throughout the duration of the cruise. (Kids club is included in the cost of the cruise, as are the kids’ club magic bands unless you fail to return them and then you’re charged $25.) This was a BIG part of our family’s motivation to book our Disney cruise this year as it’s the final year Chase (10 years old) could attend the kids’ club with the younger kids before he would age out to the older kids’ clubs.

Our kids’ first impressions of the Oceaneer Club and Lab were all incredibly positive, and they happily would’ve played there all afternoon if we let them. My first impression was also positive (facilities were clean and well organized and crew members were engaging) but as a very screen-light family, the sheer number of screens in the kids’ clubs surprised me. There are screens all over the place — iPads with Disney video games, Star Wars simulators, MarioKart, etc. — and I realize I may be in the minority with this gripe, but it would’ve been really wonderful to see more screen-free play areas. I say this as a parent who keeps scre...

Hello! Hiii! How are you guys? How was your week? Our boys were off from school for spring break all week, Ryan was in Texas for work and I was holding down the fort with quite a finish line in sight: A Disney cruise!

Ryan, the boys and I will be joining my parents and my sister’s family on a Disney cruise next week and to say we are psyched is a serious understatement! (Yes, the timing of our cruise is one week after the boys’ spring break, but we had to go with dates that worked for our whole family and their schools were totally fine with it, especially since they almost ever miss.) We cannot wait for this cruise and have been bursting with excitement as we’ve been packing all the things, planning our outfits for pirate night, assembling “pixie dust” prizes, ordering door magnets and more.

We have never done a big extended family vacation like this with all of the kids (other than our fall mountain weekends that have been on pause) and since I’ve only heard rave reviews about Disney cruises, I cannot wait to experience the magic with my very favorite people. I’m hoping to share a recap of our cruise once we’re back but in the meantime if you have any last-minute Disney cruise tips or any specific things you’d like to see me include in my cruise recap, please let me know.

And now let’s dive right to my weekly roundup of favorites, Things I’m Loving Friday style! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

We’ve done two trips to Disney World with our kids (you may see our recaps here: Last Minute Disney Vacation and here: First Time at Magic Kingdom with Kids) and we’ve slowly picked up on the fact that there are little (very optional) things you can do to “enhance the magic” of your Disney experience. Apparently the same thing applies to Disney cruises and we’ve had fun reading about some of them. A few things we’re doing:

Disney Pin Boards: Our kids got SO into collecting Disney pins during a past Disney trip (pin trading stations are located all over the parks and resorts), and apparently pin trading is alive and well on Disney cruises. I ordered pin boards for all of our families off Etsy and an assortment of pins (if you buy all your pins at Disney, you’ll spend a gazillion dollars — Etsy has pins for way less) and hot glued super-strong magnets to the back of our boards so they can adhere to our metal cruise ship room door. Our boys are already so, so psyched to wander cruise ship halls, swapping pins.

Door Magnets: Apparently cruise ship room door magnets are a thing and I ordered a little pack of Disney-themed magnets for our door to add to the fun!

Pirate Night: Rather than a traditional formal night on a cruise, Disney does a pirate night and I’ve been told repeatedly by people who have gone on Disney cruises that dressing up is not mandatory but something it seems like everyone really embraces! Our boys are still very much in the pirate-loving phase of life, so we’re definitely packing our pirate costumes. (I may or may not be dressing up as Mr. Smee.)

We are a big air fryer family and use our air fryer multiple times a week — truly like 5x a week most weeks. I prefer it to the oven because it heats up soooo fast (no preheating time) and gives fish and meat a slightly crispy exterior (similar to grilling) but with a juicy interior. We’ve been in the market for a bigger air fryer for our family as our previous one was ideal for cooking for two people. I also wanted a glass air fryer this time around for a myriad of reasons (non-toxic and the ability to see my food as it cooks being the top two).

I’ve been incredibly happy with the Boswell Glass Air Fryer I bought a little more than a month ago. It allows me to cook a lot of food at once (hooray for no longer cooking chicken thighs and salmon in batches) and I love that the base and rack within the air fryer are both dishwasher safe!! My only knock is that I think the pre-sets for food slightly overcook food so I’d recommend following your own air fryer recipes or previous air fryer knowledge (or just check your food every so often). I love this thing!!

Chase has an economics fair coming up at his school at the end of April and was tasked with making approximately 25 items to “sell” to classmates for fake money. He came up with the idea to make melty bead keychains and didn’t have any trouble coercing his little brothers and me into helping him because we all find melty bead projects oddly relaxing.
