SkiStar Swedish Open Betting - Will David Ferrer Win SkiStar Swedish Open?

Top seeds David Ferrer and Nicolas Almagro have the same record at the Swedish Open, with both men having won 14 and lost five in Bastad, earning a title apiece in the process.

World No. 5 Ferrer is favourite, however, having beaten Almagro to win his first title here in 2009, as well as finishing runner-up last year to Robin Soderling. He was close to a Wimbledon semi-final last week, taking the first-set from eventual finalist Andy Murray, and won the 's-Hertogenbosch title preceding the Major.

In fact, no other player has won as many matches as Ferrer this season, who has put together an impressive 47 wins - one more than Roger Federer.

World No. 10 Almagro is in Sweden for his seventh time, with his most notable attendance in 2010 when he beat 2011's champion Robin Soderling to lift the title. Before Sweden his last two competitions were Grand Slams, where he lost to Richard Gasquet 3-6, 4-6, 4-6 and Rafael Nadal in the Roland Garros quarter-finals. Before that clay appearance, however, he lifted a title in Nice by defeating Brian Baker and Filles Simon.

The third Spaniard in contention - Albert Ramos - will be making his debut in Bastad. The World No. 46 has won as many as he has lost this season, including a notable first-round defeat to eventual Wimbledon champion Roger Federer 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. In fact, the 24 year-old has lost his last four games, making him 18-18 for the season.

Other notable players include Tommy Robredo, who won titles here in 2006 and 2008, former semi-finalists Jarkko Nieminen and Filippo Volandri, as well as Mikhail Kukushkin, Grigor Dimitrov and Adrian Ungur.

Serena Williams (1.680)* will have fond memories of the Bank of the West Classic, as it was her first win after a return from a career-threatening series of injuries.
