Formed in Athens, Greece in 2018, Tapeworm Electric released their first EP of powerful, melodic heavy rock – Fire – the following year. In Melbourne, Australia during the bleak days of the global pandemic, singer/guitarist Phillip T. King, formerly of Galaxy and Butterfly, began to plant the seeds that would grow to become the remarkable Flitcraft. Since those days of creative isolation, two albums have been released – 2022s Our Long Journey to the Middle and 2023s House at the Centre of the Universe – and drummer Jack Samuels and bass player Zac Halpin have been welcomed aboard the Flitcraft mothership. It has been eight years since Reflection released their last album, Bleed Babylon Bleed, but now the Greek champions of epic heavy metal have returned! The silence is shattered by the sound of thunder as The Battles I Have Won comes galloping out of the darkness. True legends of the Greek heavy metal scene, Reflection have been active for more than three decades and unveiled their debut album, The Fire Still Burns back in 1999. The band still feature founding member, guitarist Stathis Pavlantis and his brother George Pavlantis who hammered the drums of doom on The Fire Still Burns and has been the rhythm master for Reflection ever since. With their comrades in blood and battle, long standing bassist John Litinakis and magnificent new vocalist Kostas Tokas (who made a guest appearance on the track ‘Stormbringer’ from Bleed Babylon Bleed), the Pavlantis brothers have delivered what will surely come to be regarded as Reflection’s finest album to date.

A first track from The Battles I Have Won was revealed at the beginning of March and ‘Lord Of The Wind’ was met with a rapturous response from fans who watched the unveiling of its accompanying lyric video. Full of drama and emotion, with breathtaking guitar work and an irresistible chorus, ‘Lord Of The Wind’ is the epitome of heroic heavy metal – and yet it is just a glimpse of all that The Battles I Have Won has to offer. From the searing energy of exhilarating opener, ‘Only The Swords Survive’ through to the Homeric majesty and narrative mastery of the concluding ‘City Walls Of Malta – The Great Siege’, The Battles I Have Won scales so many towering peaks. After nine years of anticipation, Thrash and Death Metal fans can finally rejoice as BLYND, the acclaimed Cypriot metal band, returns with their long-awaited fourth studio album.

Titled “Unbeliever”, the album promises to deliver an onslaught of blistering riffs, thunderous drums, and thought-provoking lyricism that fans have come to expect from the band.

Musically, the album has an overall dark atmosphere with both slow and fast-paced songs, some progressive passages, epic choruses and outros. Lyrically, the album deals with a variety of issues that have plagued (still plague) humanity – from war themes to Orwellian mass surveillance, propaganda, rewriting history and the suppression of free speech.

Since their formation in 2003, BLYND has been at the forefront of Cyprus’s metal scene, striving to bring its underground energy to the surface. With their latest offering, the quartet explores new sonic territories while staying true to their roots, creating an album that is both fresh and familiar. One thing is evident however: BLYND have triumphantly returned! “Unbeliever” is a solid testament to the band’s enduring vision and musical evolution.

It was just over a month ago, when Norway’s Heavy Metal act SINSID, announced the release of 2 brand new singles as well as the addition of guitar virtuoso, Erik Westerlund as a third guitarist in their ranks, effectively establishing the band as a 6-piece from now on.

Cyprus-based Heavy Metal act HARDRAW has joined the ranks of Pitch Black Records with the band’s second album, “Abyss of Mankind”, scheduled for release on April 5th.

Formed in 2011, all it takes is one quick listen to realize that traditional Heavy Metal is deeply rooted in HARDRAW. While still remaining true to its roots, the band has significantly evolved over the years, and it’s now back with a revamped roster, featuring scene veteran Jimmy Mavrommatis (ARMAGEDDON REV.16:16, MIRROR) on vocals, Nikolas “Sprits” Moutafis (SOLITARY SABRED, MARCH TO DIE, FRIENDS OF HELL) and Andreas Kyriacou (RECEIVER) on guitars, Adamos Adamou (ex-R.U.S.T.X.) on bass and Vangelis Moutafis (DRAGONBREATH) on drums.
