This weekend’s Full Moon in Gemini is a strong Super Moon, and the cosmos are packed with all sorts of creative energy making this spin with curious Gemini just a little different, and still full of wonder and messages from life with new insight, big changes and momentum for seeking, learning and expressing new facets of your becoming.

It is also the final Full Moon Musing in 2017… that’s right, we’ve circled with all 12 of the zodiac signs as the moon’s brightest phase shone light on their archetypes and territories.

This year has flown by – and I hope you’ve enjoyed the musings for your Reflective, Journaling and Creative Practices. It has been a joy to hit record and share with you each month, as part of my own practice.

There will be a free monthly something coming in 2018, to be announced – I’m just not sure what yet. I’m going to paint & journal about it, to narrow down my ideas.

In the meantime, I am sharing a short reflection on the moon in each sign over at Instagram. She shifts signs about every 2 days, so follow along there this month for a short note to pause & connect with the lunar zodiac cycle and her creative messages.

All of that said – it is a busy time of year for many of us – and Gemini ‘gets’ and thrives on busy, gathering, ‘shiny’, and connective (when remembering to pause, play and focus sometimes, so as not to burn-out, of course) – so I’ll let you get to the audio and your own reflective or creative responses…

What makes something real? Being able to feel it, see it, hear it, touch it? Something more than our conventional sense of the senses? Something beyond the measurable and palpable, perhaps… yet not discounting the truth of one’s physical senses either.

What does it mean to own something? Do we ever really own any thing at all? Ideas about ourselves, roles or labels we take on, possessions we acquire or make… what if we move beyond our cultural ideas of ownership, or notions of earning and entitlement, just a bit, into a perspective that widens the gates to a view of innate worth, abundance, and where + how our values speak into the living, manifesting landscape of our lives and relationships.

What does it mean to let yourself be comfortable… really accepted… in this body of an animal that you are, while learning what it means to be human?

These are some of the ideas I reflect on in this month’s Full Moon Creative Practice musing and invitation. And it’s funny, but even my voice, pace and language feels a bit simpler and more gently paced in this one… and that’s right in line with the tone of Taurus, shining bright in this month’s Full Moon… with the light of the season’s Scorpio Sun.

A wonderful way to paint with the sensual energy of Taurus is to put the brushes aside and get your hands and fingers in the process. To feel how your imagination and impulses translate from the ethereal/mental realm to the palpable expression through materials.

Or, if you’re a journaler, what if you wrote in your journal with a clipped feather, old school fountain pen and ink – or a paintbrush? This slows things down. Words become less… and there is economy in the use of language to express what is. Depth has time to percolate and reveal more solidly.

May your Full Moon weekend be filled with wisdom, beauty, truth, laughter and love…
the kind you can touch, see, hear, taste, smell and sense in your very cells.

As I’ve mentioned before, we all have each of the sign energies within us. Some of them are more predominant than others for each of us, but we all get all 12 in some way, shape or form.

What Aries brings to each of us is the audacity to begin, to initiate, to pioneer, to self-determine, to come into life with the purest of individual essence available. Sometimes it can look a little reckless or angry or force-full, for sure – and other times, that Aries life-force is pure courage and potential, the survivor and loyal warrior, with clear intention and action in the face of our greatest battles and fears.

And that’s exactly the sort of realm that the Aries full moon is shining light upon.

In astrology, there are many cycles within cycles, and ways of playing with consciousness around those cycles. It can all be a bit overwhelming, if you ask me – but here is a simple lunar one to correlate to the rhythms of your seasons and year…

Every sign moves through a lunar journey each year. With a new moon on one end of the year (when the Sun is in that sign), and its full moon ‘opposite’ – by season. A beginning, building, culmination and time of wrapping things up, sharing and release.

The new moon in Aries this year was back at the end of March (with the Spring Equinox here in the north) – and could have very well marked the beginning seeds of something in your life or awareness – with that undeniable Arian style and tone of declaration, action and/or courage. Something you want, desire, or simply feel compelled to experience, maybe…?

The full moon in Aries this week (now in the Fall Equinox) is shining light on the Aries-style of your journey this year… what is done, what’s working or not, what needs closure or release, or is ready to be seen, harvested or shared… something that may have been initiated or firing up in the ol’ creative-inner-soul back in March.

Peek back at your calendars or journals, or do a little reflection and remembering… see if that resonates for your experience this year.

Aries is also a fire sign, of course… and I always associate it with the creative fires, thrill and courage required and received in the beginning, impulsive and pure spontaneous stages of intuitive art-making, for instance. As well as that little thing we learn after we’ve developed an honest awareness about our process… that the greatest ‘enemy’ to our creative expression is usually ourselves… and if we get out of our own way, there is unstoppable power to tap into and explore.

What is real and imagined? When the imagining becomes so real it takes form and focus in our lives, the answer to that question changes.

What soul-deep or immersive feelings are you experiencing – or trying to avoid? About your life. Your relationships. Your creative focus. Your dreams and vision and higher truth. The suffering and pain in you, a loved one, the world?

What needs a little more compassion? A respite? A healthy escape?

And when was the last time you allowed yourself to just let go? Or to go with the flow of your creative muse? To laugh any way – in spite of any pain? Or to sip the sweet nectar of timelessness in the ocean of your ineffable inner world?

These are just some of the themes to reflect on with this month’s full moon. Pisces invites you into the world of your heart, creativity and sensitivities… into poetry, unity, color, and whatever form your soul takes to express itself when it dances with the mystery and divine.

One foot very much in the the world of sensation, and one foot in the realms of Spirit.

To individuate or to immerse in the greater good of all? To express for Self or Other? How about simply for the joy or truth of it? This is a touch of the polarity of energies and ideas brought to us by the Full Moon and partial lunar eclipse in the visionary, rebellious sign of Aquarius.

To claim courage for authenticity, in the name of liberating one’s innermost joy and momentum for what is to come… no matter how we might look to others…  yes, that also.

Because Aquarius knows we heal the world by first healing ourselves… and we shine brightest together when we let our individual freak flags fly high and free without shame, letting no quarky, eccentric or weird idea be held back from the shared river of consciousness and the journey of discovering truths.

Our becoming something greater than what we already are absolutely depends on this, says Aquarius. And the Sun in Leo agrees, and reminds us to keep our bold, generous hearts in it as well.

As always with the full moon and lunar phases, there is this question of what is coming into the light, rising to be seen, coming to completion? What needs closure or release? Aquarius wants us to look at what this means for the future, for our dreams and visions and what we are a part of creating.

We have some deep, awakening creative New Moon energy this weekend with the New Moon in Scorpio – on this Sunday, October 30 at 1:38pm EDT.

It’s a perfect weekend to gift yourself a little time for your creative practice or some uninhibited expression in your journal.

Before I share the Art Practice Moon Magic audio with you, though, I wanted to share something else that has me busting at the seams with excitement.

Life has me moving at a pretty organic, adaptive rhythm these days, true to the real time and energy it takes to get anything new prepared the right way, in the midst of ordinary daily happenings… that is – in steps, bit by bit, as a work-in-progress.
