Will Hell Be Your Eternal Home?

HELL IS CONSTANTLY BEING ENLARGED!

Isaiah 5:14 says “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.”

HAVE YOU MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE?

Heaven or Hell – Which will be your future eternal home? The choice is entirely up to you!

God created Hell for the devil and his rebellious angels, not for mankind. Hell is so horrible that God was willing to send His only Son to die in our place so that we could be saved from going there.

God doesn't condemn us to Hell. We actually condemn ourselves by choosing to go there. It is a choice but it is not God's choice.

God is offering you a Free Gift of eternal life with Him in Heaven and you can either accept it or reject it.

WE WERE CREATED IN GOD'S IMAGE

God created man in His own image to spend eternity with Him.

A GREAT CHASM WAS CREATED

Blaise Pascal (1623-1662), the French mathematician, author and philosopher said “There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man that cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the creator, made known through Jesus Christ.”

As stated by Blaise Pascal, we are all born with a deep-seated awareness of and hunger for God in our being.

But, most of us try to fill this void with all kinds of things like money, drugs, sex, false religion, personal relationships, and on and on. But, nothing will fill this void but Jesus.

Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

This Bible verse clearly states that all of us sin to a greater or lesser degree and all of us have failed to attain the standard of God which is His perfect character.

It also states that we are all sinners by nature and by personal actions and none of us are righteous.

GOD CREATED A BRIDGE

TO BRING US OVER THE CHASM

God is holy and cannot have a relationship with a fallen man. So God elected to bridge the chasm by sending Jesus, His only begotten Son, to die on the cross for the redemption of our sins and making forgiveness Free to anyone that will ask.

HAVE YOU ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS AND BELIEVED?

John 3:18 says “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

ARE YOU SAVED?

Being saved means relaxing and allowing Jesus to save you. Your participation is limited to you accepting the fact that you can never save yourself.

Many people feel that before they can come to Jesus, they must first clean themselves up. The harder you try to clean yourself up, the dirtier you get. Just come as you are, dirt and all. Simply ask and believe and Jesus will give you a mind to do things differently (the cleaning up).

YOU CAN SETTLE YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY RIGHT NOW

You can settle your eternal destiny right now by simply receiving the pardon that Jesus purchased for you.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Romans 10:9-10 says “If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Right now, admit that you are a sinner, pray and ask Jesus to forgive you, come into your heart, and take over your life. Then, thank God for saving you and giving you eternal life with Him.

And, don't be a closet Christian. To confirm your salvation, immediately tell someone that you have just accepted Jesus as your Savior.

Do it now - This will be the best choice you will ever make!

HEAVEN WILL BE YOUR FUTURE HOME

Your name will be written down in the “Lamb's Book Of Life”, you will be numbered among the redeemed, and Heaven will be your future home. Hallelujah!

As soon as possible, acquire a Bible and read it everyday. It's your Spiritual Food! We recommend that you begin with the Gospel of John.

There are many Bible Versions available so, if you can, select one that is easy for you to read and understand. Make it a habit to study your Bible regularly to learn about God and His plan for your life.

Finally, locate and regularly attend a Bible Believing, Bible Teaching Church where you can be fed Spiritually and be baptized.

There Is Only One Way To Heaven!

The world system, through false doctrine and false teaching, would like us to believe that there are many ways to get to Heaven.

Its many false teachers and preachers would like us to believe that:

If we are good enough;
If we do enough good works;
If we give enough to the right causes;
If we practice the right religion, Or
If we belong to the right church;

God will open up the doors of Heaven and let us in.

And, they would also like us to believe that a kind and loving God would not send anyone to Hell.

ALL OF THIS IS A BLATANT LIE – NONE OF IT IS THE TRUTH!

Hell is a terrible place that was prepared for Satan and the other fallen angels. It is a horrible place of never ending pain and torment. God doesn't want any of us to go there.

2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (Accept Jesus.)

But, because of the original sin committed by our common ancestors, Adam and Eve, there had to be a perfect sacrifice to keep everyone from going to Hell.

The Bible (God's Infallible and Authoritative Word) clearly states that we will all spend eternity in one of two places – Heaven or Hell. Where we spend eternity depends on the choice we make while we are still alive.

HERE IS THE TRUTH

John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Jesus Christ, God's one and only son, left Heaven, came down to earth, was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, grew up and lived a perfect sinless life, shed His blood, took God's entire wrath upon Himself, and died a horrible death on the cross just so we might have all of our sins forgiven and be saved. Jesus paid the entire price for a debt that we could not pay.

And, 3 days later, He rose from the dead, spent a few days with His disciples, and then ascended back into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father acting as our personal mediator. See Matthew 28:1-5 and Hebrews 9:15. Hallelujah!

John 14:6 says “Jesus answered “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Acts 4:12 says “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Romans 10:9-10 says “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Romans 10:13 says “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

1 Timothy 2:3-5 says “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”

2 Timothy 1:9 says “He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.”

If you accept God's Free Gift Of Salvation (Jesus Christ), all your sins will be forgiven, you will be saved, you will be adopted as God's child, you will be made a joint heir with Jesus, your name will be written down in the Lamb's Book of Life, and your eternal home in Heaven will be assured.

HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE

If you want to spend eternity in Heaven, you must accept God's Free Gift Of Salvation (Jesus Christ) and make Him Lord of your life. This is a mandatory requirement There is no other way!

If you reject Jesus, God's Free Gift, Hell will be your eternal home. You don't want to go there!

You have heard the lies. Now you have heard the truth. What you do with it and the choice you make is strictly up to you!

Jesus Was Crucified And Died For Us!

Romans 5:8 says "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

A DOCTOR DESCRIBES THE CRUCIFIXION

OF JESUS CHRIST

After the Passover Meal, Jesus and His Disciples went to the Garden Of Gethsemane so Jesus could pray.

THE BLOODY SWEAT

The physical trauma of Christ begins in the Garden Of Gethsemane with one of the initial aspects of His suffering - the bloody sweat. It is interesting that the physician of the group, St. Luke, is the only one to mention this.

Luke 22:44 says “And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.

Though very rare, the phenomenon of hemathidrosis, or bloody sweat, is well documented. Under great emotional stress, tiny capillaries in the sweat glands can break, thus mixing blood with sweat. This process alone could have produced marked weakness and possible shock.

JESUS IS ARRESTED

After His arrest in the middle of the night, Jesus was brought before the Sanhedrin (the ruling council) and Caiaphas, the High Priest. A soldier struck Jesus across the face for remaining silent when questioned by Caiaphas. The palace guards then blindfolded Him and mockingly taunted Him to identify them as they each passed by; they spat on Him and struck Him in the face.

JESUS CONDEMNED TO CRUCIFIXION

In the early morning, Jesus, battered and bruised, dehydrated, and exhausted from a sleepless night, was taken across Jerusalem to the Praetorium of the Fortress Antonia. It was there, in response to the cries of the mob, that Pilate ordered Bar-Abbas released and condemned Jesus to scourging and crucifixion.

THE SCOURGING

Preparations for the scourging are carried out. The prisoner is stripped of His clothing and His hands tied to a post above His head.

The Roman legionnaire steps forward with the flagrum in his hand. This is a short whip consisting of several heavy, leather thongs with two small balls of lead attached to the ends of each.

The heavy whip is brought down with full force again and again across Jesus’ shoulders, back and legs.

At first the heavy thongs cut through the skin only. Then, as the blows continue, they cut deeper into subcutaneous tissues, producing first an oozing of blood from the capillaries and veins of the skin, and finally spurting arterial bleeding from vessels in the underlying muscles.

The small balls of lead first produce large, deep bruises which are broken open by subsequent blows. Finally the skin of the back is hanging in long ribbons and the entire area is an unrecognizable mass of torn, bleeding tissue.

When it is determined by the centurion in charge that the prisoner is near death, the beating is stopped.

THE MOCKERY

The half-fainting Jesus is then untied and allowed to slump to the stone pavement, wet with His own blood.

The Roman soldiers see a great joke in this provincial Jew claiming to be a king. They throw a robe across His shoulders and place a stick in His hand for a scepter.

A small bundle of flexible branches covered with long thorns is pressed into His scalp. Again there is copious bleeding (the scalp being one of the most vascular areas in the body).

After mocking Him and striking Him across the face, the soldiers take the stick from His hand and strike Him across the head, driving the thorns deeper into His scalp. Finally, they tire of their sadistic sport and the robe is torn from His back.

The robe had already started sticking to the clots of blood and serum in the wounds, and its removal, just as in the careless removal of a surgical bandage, cause excruciating pain - almost as though He were again being whipped, and the wounds again begin to bleed.

THE WALK TO CRUCIFIXION

The heavy beam of the cross is then tied across His shoulders, and the procession of the condemned Christ, two thieves and the execution detail, begins its slow journey.

The weight of the heavy wooden beam, together with the shock produced by copious blood loss, is too much. He stumbles and falls. The rough wood of the beam gouges into the lacerated skin and muscles of His shoulders. He tries to rise, but human muscles have been pushed beyond their endurance.

The centurion, anxious to proceed with the crucifixion, selected a stalwart North African onlooker, Simon of Cyrene, to carry the cross.

Jesus followed, still bleeding and sweating the cold, clammy sweat of shock. The 650-yard journey from the Fortress Antonia to Golgotha was finally completed. The prisoner was again stripped of His clothing except for a loin cloth which was allowed by the Jews.

THE NAILS OF CRUCIFIXION

At Golgotha, the beam is placed on the ground and Jesus is quickly thrown backward with His shoulders against the wood. The legionnaire feels for the depression at the front of the wrist. He drives a heavy, square, wrought-iron nail through the wrist and deep into the wood.

Quickly, he moves to the other side and repeats the action, being careful not to pull the arms too tightly, but to allow some flexion and movement. The beam is then lifted in place at the top of the posts and a sign reading “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews” is nailed in place.

THE PAIN OF CRUCIFIXION

The left foot is pressed backward against the right foot, and with both feet extended, toes down, a nail is driven through the arch of each. As he pushes Himself upward to avoid the stretching torment, He places His full weight on the nail through His feet.

There is searing agony of the nail tearing through the nerves between the metatarsal bones through the feet.

As Jesus slowly sagged down with more weight on the nails in the wrists, excruciating, fiery pain shot along the fingers and up the arms to explode in the brain. The nails in the wrists were putting pressure on the median nerve, large nerve trunks which traverse the mid-wrist and hand.

As He pushed himself upward to avoid this stretching torment, He placed His full weight on the nail through His feet. Again there was searing agony as the nail tore through the nerves between the metatarsal bones of this feet.

THE MEDICAL EFFECTS OF CRUCIFIXION

As the arms fatigue, great waves of cramps sweep over the muscles, knotting them in deep, relentless, throbbing pain.

With these cramps comes the inability to push Himself upward. Hanging by His arms, the pectoral muscles are unable to act. Air can be drawn into the lungs, but cannot be exhaled. Jesus fights to raise Himself in order to get even one short breath.

Finally, carbon dioxide builds up in the lungs and in the blood stream and the cramps partially subside. Spasmodically, He is able to push Himself upward to exhale and bring in the life-giving oxygen.

Hours of this limitless pain, cycles of twisting, joint-rending cramps, intermittent partial asphyxiation, searing pain as tissue is torn from His lacerated back as He moves up and down against the rough timber.

Then another agony begins. A deep crushing pain deep in the chest as the pericardium slowly fills with serum and begins to compress the heart.

The compressed heart is struggling to pump heavy, thick, sluggish blood into the tissues - the tortured lungs are making a frantic effort to gasp in small gulps of air. The markedly dehydrated tissues send their flood of stimuli to the brain. Jesus gasps, “I thirst.”

THE LAST GASP

He could feel the chill of death creeping through His tissues. This realization brought forth little more than a tortured whisper: "It is finished."

His mission of atonement had been completed. Finally, He could allow His body to die. With one last surge of strength, He once again pressed His torn feet against the nail, straightened His legs, took a deeper breath, and uttered His last cry: "Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit."

The common method of ending a crucifixion was by crurifracture, the breaking of the bones of the leg. This prevented the victim from pushing himself upward; the tension could not be relieved from the muscles of the chest, and rapid suffocation occurred.

The legs of the two thieves were broken, but when the soldiers approached Jesus, they saw that this was not necessary.

Apparently, to make doubly sure of death, the legionnaire drove his lance between the ribs, upward through the pericardium and into the heart.

John 19:34 says “But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.”

Thus there was an escape of watery fluid from the sac surrounding the heart and the blood of the interior of the heart. This is rather conclusive post-mortem evidence that Jesus died, not the usual crucifixion death by suffocation, but of heart failure due to shock and constriction of the heart by fluid in the pericardium.

THE MIRACLE OF THE RESURRECTION

In these events, we have seen a glimpse of the evil that man can exhibit toward his fellowman and toward God.

But the Crucifixion was not the end of the story. How grateful we can be that we have a sequel: a glimpse of the infinite mercy of God toward man -- the gift of atonement, the miracle of the resurrection, and the expectation of Easter morning.

Our Note: Jesus loved us so much that He was willing to suffer and die a horrific death on the cross to pay the penalty due for our sins so that you and I could have our sins forgiven, be saved and have everlasting life.

John 3:36 says “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 5:24 says “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

John 6:40 says “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”

1 John 5:11 says “And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”

John 14:6 says “Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Romans 10:8-10 says “But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

God’s Gift Of Salvation Is Free! To be saved, become an Adopted Child Of God, and have everlasting life, all we have to do is confess that we are a sinner, ask God to forgive us, accept Jesus as our personal savior and make Him Lord of our life. We encourage you not to wait – do this today!

Would You Be Willing To Die For Jesus?

A VERY POWERFUL DREAM

In 2002, I had a very powerful dream that I have not shared on the internet or on our website. This dream has caused me to do a whole lot of thinking. When I woke up, I wrote it down so I wouldn’t forget any part of it and I would like to share that dream with you now.

A DIFFERENT TIME AND PLACE

In your mind, picture yourself living in a different time and place. The United States is no longer the superpower it once was and our current form of government no longer exists. Our country is now ruled by a ruthless dictator and Christianity has been declared illegal.

A SECRET CHURCH SERVICE

You, your family, and a large group of Christians are having a secret church service in a large basement facility. About half way through praise and worship, the doors burst open and a large group of uniformed soldiers carrying automatic weapons rush in and surround you and the entire congregation.

FINAL WARNING

The commander steps to the front and, surveying everyone there, says “If any of you are not truly Christians, leave now!” One by one, about half a dozen people get up and leave the room. Again, the commander barks out “This is your final warning. If you are not ready to affirm your Christian faith, get up and leave now!” Slowly, one by one, four more people get up and leave the room. Then the commander barks out another order and the soldiers quickly force everyone left to stand to their feet and form a single line in front of the commander.

A MIDDLE AGED COUPLE

The first two people in line are a middle aged couple. The commander looks directly at the husband and says “If you’ll renounce your faith in Jesus Christ, you and your wife are free to go. If you don’t, you’ll both be executed right now. How do you respond?” With tears streaming down his face, the husband replies “No, I can’t do that! Jesus Christ is my Savior and Lord.” Without hesitation, the soldiers force the woman to her knees, put a gun to her head, and pull the trigger. BANG!!! The horrible sound of a gunshot reverberates throughout the room, blood splatters everywhere, and the woman’s body slumps to the floor. Two soldiers quickly grab her by the arms and haul her lifeless body over to the corner of the room. Without further commands from the commander, the process is repeated with the husband and his lifeless body is also hauled over to the corner and dumped in a heap on top of his wife.

A YOUNG PREGNANT MOTHER AND HER DAUGHTER

The next two people in line are a young pregnant mother and her daughter. The commander looks directly at the mother and says “If you’ll renounce your faith in Jesus Christ, you and your daughter are free to go. If you don’t, you’ll both be executed right now. How do you respond?” With tears streaming down her face, the mother replies “No, I can’t do that! Jesus Christ is my Savior and Lord.” To everyone’s horror, the soldiers quickly force the young girl to her knees, put a gun to her head, and pull the trigger. BANG!!! Once again, the horrible sound of a gunshot reverberates throughout the room and the girl’s lifeless body is hauled over and dumped in the corner. The soldiers immediately repeat the process and the mother’s lifeless body is also hauled away.

A YOUNG MAN IN HIS TWENTIES

Next in line is a young man in his twenties. The commander looks directly at him and says “If you’ll renounce your faith in Jesus Christ, you are free to go. If you don’t, you’ll be executed right now. How do you respond?” The young man, without hesitation, blurts out “NO! I can’t do this. I’m too young to die. I’ve got too many years yet to live. I renounce Jesus Christ!” With a smile on his face, the commander says “Good, you are free to go.” The young man turns and slowly heads for the door. With fear written all over his face, he begins to run and disappears through the exit. In a matter of seconds, everyone hears the screeching of tires and a loud thud. A soldier sticks his head in the door and says “That young man who just ran out of here ran into the street without looking and was hit by a truck. He’s dead! What should we do with his body?” With a smirk, the commander replies “Dump him with the rest of them!”

YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

Now, all too quickly, you and your family are at the head of the line. The commander looks directly at you and says “If you’ll renounce your faith in Jesus Christ, you and your family are free to go. If you don’t, you’ll all be executed right now. How do you respond?

THE QUESTION IS, HOW WILL YOU RESPOND?

How strong is your faith and would you really be willing to die for Jesus? None of us really know how we would respond under the circumstances described in my dream.

Consider Simon Peter’s denial in the following:

Luke 22:31-34 says “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death”. Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me”. And, before that day was over, that’s exactly what Peter did!

Matthew 10:32-33 says “Jesus says ‘Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father in Heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in Heaven’”.

Matthew 10:37-39 says “Jesus also says ‘Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it’”.

1 Corinthians 16:13 says “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”

Will you lose your life like the young man who renounced Jesus in my dream and spend your eternity in Hell or will you find your life like the husband and wife and the mother and daughter and spend your eternity in Heaven? The choice is yours just as the choice is mine!

We pray that you will never be exposed to any circumstances like those described in my dream above. But, just in case you are, we encourage you to say the following prayer:

“Heavenly Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus, that if I am ever involved in any situation where I am required to stand firm in my faith and affirm You as my Savior and Lord, that You will grant me the grace and the strength to endure any hardship that I might be faced with. Lord, in Philippians 4:13, Your Word says “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” For this, I thank you. Amen.”

What Is Salvation And How Do You Receive It?

Salvation refers to the process of being saved or rescued from harm or danger. Salvation is a central concept in Christianity, referring to the process by which a person is saved from sin and granted eternal life in Heaven. It is viewed as the ultimate goal of the Christian faith and is achieved through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

SEPARATION FROM GOD

According to the Bible, all humans are born with a sinful nature and are separated from God. However, through faith in Jesus Christ, we can be saved from our sins and reconciled with God. It is often described as a gift from God that cannot be earned through good deeds or actions, but only through faith.

SALVATION

Salvation is not only a one-time event but a continuous process of growth in one’s faith and relationship with God. It requires repentance, the turning away from sin, and the embrace of a new life in Christ. This transformation is commonly referred to as being "born again" or "saved." This process of salvation involves repentance, faith, and a commitment to follow Jesus.

Salvation is not something that can be earned through good works or religious observance. It is a gift from God that is freely given to those who believe in Jesus Christ. However, this free gift of salvation comes with a responsibility to live a life that is pleasing to God and to share the message of salvation with others.+

REPENT

Repentance involves recognizing and confessing our sins. It is a willingness to turn away from our sinful ways and to turn towards God.

FAITH

Faith is an essential component of salvation. It involves placing our trust in Jesus Christ as our savior and believing that He died on the cross for our sins. This faith is not just an intellectual belief, but a personal relationship with Jesus that transforms our lives.

COMMITMENT TO FOLLOW JESUS

Salvation involves a commitment to follow Jesus, to live a life of obedience to His teachings and seeking to serve others in love

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, salvation is a central concept in Christianity that involves being saved from sin and granted eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. It involves repentance, faith, and a commitment to follow Jesus. While salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned, it comes with a responsibility to live a life that is pleasing to God and to share the message of salvation with others.

HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR SALVATION

Heaven or Hell? If you were to die today, do you know where you will go? if you are not 100% sure. do the following:

1. CONFESS THAT YOU ARE A SINNER.

Romans 3:23-24 says “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.”

Romans 5:12 says “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned”

Romans 3:10 says “As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one;”

2. REPENT OF YOUR SINS.

Matthew 3:8 says “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.”

Luke 13:3 says “I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Definition Of Repent: an admission of guilt for committing a wrong or for omitting to do the right thing; a promise or resolve not to repeat the offense; an attempt to make restitution for the wrong, or in some way to reverse the harmful effects of the wrong or the omission where possible.

3. BELIEVE THAT GOD LOVES YOU.

John 3:16 says “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

4. BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED FOR YOU.

Romans 5:8 says “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Note: Believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died a horrible death on the cross at Calvary. His sacrifice paid the full price for the penalty for your sins.

5. BELIEVE THAT GOD WANTS TO GIVE YOU ETERNAL LIFE.

Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Note: Because you have sinned, you were working your way to eternal death in Hell. But God wants to give you eternal life in Heaven.

6. ACCEPT JESUS INTO YOUR HEART TODAY!

Romans 10:13 says “for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Revelation 3:20 says “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

Romans 10:9-10 says “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

7. SAY THE FOLLOWING PRAYER.

Dear God In Heaven…

I come to you in the name of Jesus. I confess that I am a sinner and I’m sorry for my sins, the way I’ve lived, and the things I’ve done.

Please forgive me and cleanse me with your precious blood from all unrighteousness.

With my mouth, I confess the Lord Jesus. In my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and He is alive.

This very moment, I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and I make Him the Lord of my life.

And according to Your Word, which cannot lie, I’m washed, I’m cleansed, I’m forgiven, and I am saved.

Praise God in Jesus name!

Note: If you have just prayed this prayer and meant it from your heart, Praise the Lord!

2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Note: You are a brand new person inside and you are not the same anymore. Your new life has just begun! You are now an adopted child of the King!Congratulations and welcome to the Family of God!

8. TELL SOMEONE ELSE WHAT YOU JUST DID.

This is to confirm you salvation and makes you accountable to live like a Christian. God doesn’t want us to be “Closet Christians!” Romans 10:9-10 says that the very act of becoming a Christian requires us to confess publicly that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and have placed our faith in His shed blood to atone for our sins.

What Is Your Purpose?

Do you know why you are here? In order for you to live a successful life, it is important that you know the purpose for your life. And the only way you can know the purpose for your life is through the Word of God and a relationship with Him.

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING

Anything that does not fulfill its purpose is a failure, no matter what it is. If you don’t find the purpose for your life, you will be a failure.

You must find your purpose in life so you don’t succeed at the wrong thing. You will never be fulfilled in your heart or in your life if you don’t find your purpose. Knowing the purpose for your life is important to your success.

You are successful when you do that for which God created you. Purpose determines “priority”. Knowing your purpose will determine your priorities. And, unless you know your purpose, you won’t have guidance for your life.

GOD KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU!

God Knows Your Character:

Psalm 139:1 (NIV) says “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.”

God Knows Your Thoughts:

Psalm 139:2 (NIV) says “You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.” God knows what you are thinking every moment. He knows what you are thinking right now!

God Knows Your Conduct:

Psalm 139:3 (NIV) says “You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.” There is no move that you can make that God doesn’t see.

God Knows Your Conversations:

Psalm 139:4 (NIV) says “Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.” If only half of what people said each day was left unsaid, this world would be a much better place.

God knows every thought, every prayer, every concern, every tear, every hair on your head. God knows everything about you.

God Is Always With You:

Psalm 139:5-6 (NIV) says “You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

Psalm 139:7-8 (NIV) says “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.”

Jeremiah 23:24 (NIV) says “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. ‘Do not I fill heaven and earth?”
declares the Lord.’”

Distance Doesn’t Hide You From God:

Psalm 139:9-10 (NIV) says “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”

You can never be in a place where you can escape from God. When you finish running from God, He will already be there waiting for you.

Darkness Doesn’t Hide You From God:

Psalm 139:11-12 (NIV) says “If I say, “’Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”

Again, God knows all about you. You cannot outrun, outwit, or outdistance God!

GOD HAS A WONDERFUL PURPOSE FOR YOU!

You were not an accident. God formed you in your mother’s womb. You are special!

Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV) says “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Psalm 139:17-18 (NIV) says “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.”

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?

God loves you and He wants you to live a satisfying, productive and rewarding life!

If you are dissatisfied with your life, this might just be God trying to show you your purpose that you are not fulfilling.

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING

What are the things you care most about? What are your God given strengths and talents? What is the one thing that you do better than others? What are your main interests? What are you passionate about? Who are the people that you admire? What matters most to you? Do you have positive or negative emotions? Make a detailed list. The answers to these questions can clue you in to your God given purpose.

Pray and ask God (the only one who really knows you) to show you the things that truly move you. Be patient and wait for God to answer your prayer. When you receive your answer, be obedient to do what God has revealed to you. And remember, God wants you to discover His purpose for you more than you do.

Finally, consider that your purpose is not just about you; it’s about what God wants to do through you for the good of others. Therefore, if you ignore your dissatisfaction, your talents and gifts, and your passions, you are not only betraying yourself, but you are betraying God; because He has called you to a purpose and wants you to walk in it — for others and for your own joy.

Also consider that since God has called you, He is completely able to reveal your purpose to you, and He will as you diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) says “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

GOD WANTS YOU SAVED!

In the long run, even if you do learn and fulfill your purpose, what good is that if you are not saved. To learn more about salvation, read “God’s Free Gift”.

The Book Of Proverbs gives us much practical instruction on the use of money, although it sometimes is instruction we would prefer not to hear. We often feel more comfortable continuing in our established habits than to learn how to use our money more wisely. Bible Proverbs include the following 11 practical instructions on the use of money:

1. ASK GOD FOR WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE AND

GOOD JUDGMENT ABOUT MONEY AND WEALTH;

Proverbs 3:13-14 says “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.”

Proverbs 8:10-11 (NIV) says “Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”

Proverbs 16:8 (NLT) says “Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest.”

Proverbs 16:16 (NLT) says “How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver!”

2. DON’T BE LAZY;

Proverbs 6:6-8 (NIV) says “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.”

Proverbs 6:10-11 (NIV) says “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”

Proverbs 10:4 (NIV) says “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.”

Proverbs 12:11 (NIV) says “Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.”

3. DON’T BE GREEDY;

Proverbs 1:19 (NIV) says “Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the life of those who get it.”

Proverbs 15:27 (NIV) says “The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live.”

Proverbs 28:22 (NIV) says “The stingy are eager to get rich and are unaware that poverty awaits them.”

Proverbs 28:25 (NIV) says “The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.”

4. BE GENEROUS IN GIVING;

Proverbs 11:24-25 (NIV) says “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) says “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.”

Proverbs 22:9 (NIV) says “The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.”

Proverbs 28:27 (NIV) says “Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.”

5. BE CAUTIOUS IN COUNTERSIGNING FOR ANOTHER;

Proverbs 11:15 (NIV) says “Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but whoever refuses to shake hands in pledge is safe.”

Proverbs 17:18 (NIV) says “One who has no sense shakes hands in pledge and puts up security for a neighbor.”

Proverbs 22:26-27 (NIV) says “Do not be one who shakes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you.”

Proverbs 27:13 (NIV) says “Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger; hold it in pledge if it is done for an outsider.”

Proverbs 10:2 (NIV) says “Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.”

Proverbs 11:4 (NIV) says “Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.”

Proverbs 11:18 (NIV) says “A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.”

Proverbs 22:1 (NIV) says “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”

The birth of Jesus is one of the most celebrated events in the Christian calendar. It marks the occasion when Jesus Christ was born (approximately c. 6-4 BC) in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago. The story of Jesus’ birth is a central part of our Christian faith, and has been retold countless times through art, literature, music, and film.

1. THE BIRTH OF JESUS FORETOLD

According to the Bible, Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph, who were both from the town of Nazareth. Mary was a virgin when she became pregnant with Jesus, and this was due to an immaculate conception. The Bible tells us that an angel appeared to Mary and told her that she was to give birth to a son, who would be the Son of God.

2. THE ANGEL GABRIEL IS SENT TO MARY

Luke 1:26-35 (NLT) says “God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!

Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. Don’t be afraid, Mary, the angel told her, for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His ancestor David. And He will reign over Israel forever; His Kingdom will never end!

Mary asked the angel, But how can this happen? I am a virgin. The angel replied, the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and He will be called the Son of God.”

3. JOSEPH AND MARY MUST GO TO BETHLEHEM

Close to the end of her pregnancy, Joseph and Mary had to go to Bethlehem to register for a census and pay their taxes. When they arrived there, they found that there was no room at the inn. They were forced to stay in a stable, where Mary gave birth to Jesus.

4. THE SHEPHERDS AND ANGELS

The Bible also tells us that angels appeared to shepherds in the fields nearby, announcing the birth of Jesus.

Luke 2:8-20 (NLT) says “That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger.

After seeing Him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.”

Note: These were not ordinary shepherds. These shepherds were Levite priests who were fulfilling their temple duties and were responsible for taking care of the flocks that were intended for the sacrifices in the Temple in Jerusalem about five miles away. It was the priests’ job to make sure the lambs were without blemish and completely unharmed before being sacrificed.

5. VISITORS ARRIVE FROM THE EAST

The Bible also tells us that wise men from the East came to pay tribute to the newborn king.

Matthew 2:1-12 (NLT) says “Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw His star as it rose, and we have come to worship Him.”

King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?”

“In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote: ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah,for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’”

Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!”

After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.”

Note: The wise men had come from a great distance away and arrived about two years after the birth of Jesus when Joseph and Mary were living in a house in Bethlehem.

6. KING HEROD ATTEMPTS TO KILL JESUS

Matthew 2:16 (NLT) says “Herod was furious when he realized that the wise men had outwitted him. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, based on the wise men’s report of the star’s first appearance.”

7. JOSEPH AND MARY FLEE TO EGYPT

Matthew 2:13-15 (NLT) says “After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,” the angel said. “Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother, and they stayed there until Herod’s death. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “I called my Son out of Egypt.”

8. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF JESUS

The birth of Jesus is significant because it is believed to represent the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies about the coming of the Messiah. Jesus’ birth also symbolizes hope and redemption, as it is believed that He was sent by God to save humanity from sin and bring us closer to God.

The story of Jesus’ birth has been retold and interpreted in many different ways since the time of the Bible. It has been the subject of countless works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and stained-glass windows. It has also been the basis for many Christmas carols and hymns, such as “Silent Night” and “Joy to the World”.

9. GIVING THANKS FOR THE GIFT OF JESUS CHRIST

Today, the birth of Jesus is celebrated by Christians all over the world on December 25th, which is known as Christmas Day. This is a day of celebration, prayer, and reflection, where Christians come together with friends and family to give thanks for the gift of Jesus Christ.

Note: The actual birth day of Jesus was not December 25. The date we celebrate was adopted by the Christian church as the birthday of Christ in the fourth century. According to Bible Scholars, Jesus was actually born in mid-September to early in October. Temperatures were still fairly warm and that is why the shepherds were still watching their flocks in the fields.

The birth of Jesus remains a significant event in our Christian faith. It is an occasion that represents hope, redemption, and the fulfillment of God’s promises to humanity. The story of Jesus’ birth has been retold countless times, and continues to inspire people all over the world to this day.

In conclusion, because we know that the Savior of the world has come, we should be praising and thanking God every day of the year, not just on Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve At The Gas Station.

Note: The following is a Wonderful Story that demonstrates by example the Spirit Of Giving – especially at Christmas. We received it by email and unfortunately, the author is unknown. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

The old man sat in his gas station on a cold Christmas Eve. He hadn't been anywhere in years since his wife had passed away. It was just another day to him. He didn't hate Christmas, just couldn't find a reason to celebrate. He was sitting there looking at the snow that had been falling for the last hour and wondering what it was all about when the door opened and a homeless man stepped through.

Instead of throwing the man out, Old George as he was known by his customers, told the man to come and sit by the heater and warm up. "Thank you, but I don't mean to intrude," said the stranger. "I see you're busy, I'll just go."

"Not without something hot in your belly." George said.

He turned and opened a wide mouth Thermos and handed it to the stranger. "It ain't much, but it's hot and tasty. Stew ... Made it myself. When you're done, there's coffee and it's fresh."

Just at that moment he heard the "ding" of the driveway bell. "Excuse me, be right back," George said. There in the driveway was an old '53 Chevy. Steam was rolling out of the front. The driver was panicked. "Mister can you help me!" said the driver, with a deep Spanish accent. "My wife is with child and my car is broken." George opened the hood. It was bad. The block looked cracked from the cold, the car was dead.

"You ain't going in this thing," George said as he turned away.

"But Mister, please help ..." The door of the office closed behind George as he went inside. He went to the office wall and got the keys to his old truck, and went back outside. He walked around the building, opened the garage, started the truck and drove it around to where the couple was waiting. "Here, take my truck," he said. "She ain't the best thing you ever looked at, but she runs real good."

George helped put the woman in the truck and watched as it sped off into the night. He turned and walked back inside the office. "Glad I gave 'em the truck, their tires were shot too. That 'ol truck has brand new ." George thought he was talking to the stranger, but the man had gone. The Thermos was on the desk, empty, with a used coffee cup beside it. "Well, at least he got something in his belly," George thought.

George went back outside to see if the old Chevy would start. It cranked slowly, but it started. He pulled it into the garage where the truck had been. He thought he would tinker with it for something to do. Christmas Eve meant no customers. He discovered that the block hadn't cracked, it was just the bottom hose on the radiator. "Well, shoot, I can fix this," he said to himself. So he put a new one on.

"Those tires ain't gonna get 'em through the winter either." He took the snow treads off of his wife's old Lincoln . They were like new and he wasn't going to drive the car anyway.

As he was working, he heard shots being fired. He ran outside and beside a police car an officer lay on the cold ground. Bleeding from the left shoulder, the officer moaned, "Please help me."

George helped the officer inside as he remembered the training he had received in the Army as a medic. He knew the wound needed attention. "Pressure to stop the bleeding," he thought. The uniform company had been there that morning and had left clean shop towels. He used those and duct tape to bind the wound. "Hey, they say duct tape can fix anythin'," he said, trying to make the policeman feel at ease.

"Something for pain," George thought. All he had was the pills he used for his back. "These ought to work." He put some water in a cup and gave the policeman the pills. "You hang in there, I'm going to get you an ambulance."

The phone was dead. "Maybe I can get one of your buddies on that there talk box out in your car." He went out only to find that a bullet had gone into the dashboard destroying the two way radio.

He went back in to find the policeman sitting up. "Thanks," said the officer. "You could have left me there. The guy that shot me is still in the area."

George sat down beside him, "I would never leave an injured man in the Army and I ain't gonna leave you." George pulled back the bandage to check for bleeding. "Looks worse than what it is. Bullet passed right through 'ya. Good thing it missed the important stuff though. I think with time your gonna be right as rain."

George got up and poured a cup of coffee. "How do you take it?" he asked.

"None for me," said the officer.

"Oh, yer gonna drink this. Best in the city. Too bad I ain't got no donuts." The officer laughed and winced at the same time.

The front door of the office flew open. In burst a young man with a gun. "Give me all your cash! Do it now!" the young man yelled. His hand was shaking and George could tell that he had never done anything like this before.

"That's the guy that shot me!" exclaimed the officer.

"Son, why are you doing this?" asked George, "You need to put the cannon away. Somebody else might get hurt."

The young man was confused. "Shut up old man, or I'll shoot you, too. Now give me the cash!"

The cop was reaching for his gun. "Put that thing away," George said to the cop, "we got one too many in here now."

He turned his attention to the young man. "Son, it's Christmas Eve. If you need money, well then, here. It ain't much but it's all I got. Now put that pea shooter away."

George pulled $150 out of his pocket and handed it to the young man, reaching for the barrel of the gun at the same time. The young man released his grip on the gun, fell to his knees and began to cry. "I'm not very good at this am I? All I wanted was to buy something for my wife and son," he went on. "I've lost my job, my rent is due, my car got repossessed last week."

George handed the gun to the cop. "Son, we all get in a bit of squeeze now and then. The road gets hard sometimes, but we make it through the best we can."

He got the young man to his feet, and sat him down on a chair across from the cop. "Sometimes we do stupid things." George handed the young man a cup of coffee. "Being stupid is one of the things that makes us human. Coming in here with a gun ain't the answer. Now sit there and get warm and we'll sort this thing out."

The young man had stopped crying. He looked over to the cop. "Sorry I shot you. It just went off. I'm sorry officer."

"Shut up and drink your coffee " the cop said.

George could hear the sounds of sirens outside. A police car and an ambulance skidded to a halt. Two cops came through the door, guns drawn. "Chuck! You Ok?" one of the cops asked the wounded officer.

"Not bad for a guy who took a bullet. How did you find me?"

"GPS locator in the car. Best thing since sliced bread. Who did this?" the other cop asked as he approached the young man.

Chuck answered him, "I don't know. The guy ran off into the dark. Just dropped his gun and ran."

George and the young man both looked puzzled at each other.

"That guy work here?" the wounded cop continued.

"Yep," George said, "just hired him this morning. Boy lost his job."

The paramedics came in and loaded Chuck onto the stretcher. The young man leaned over the wounded cop and whispered, "Why?"

Chuck just said, "Merry Christmas boy ... and you too, George, and thanks for everything."

"Well, looks like you got one doozy of a break there. That ought to solve some of your problems."

George went into the back room and came out with a box. He pulled out a ring box. "Here you go, something for the little woman. I don't think Martha would mind. She said it would come in handy some day."

The young man looked inside to see the biggest diamond ring he ever saw. "I can't take this," said the young man. "It means something to you."

"And now it means something to you," replied George. "I got my memories. That's all I need."

George reached into the box again. An airplane, a car and a truck appeared next. They were toys that the oil company had left for him to sell. "Here's something for that little man of yours."

The young man began to cry again as he handed back the $150 that the old man had handed him earlier.

"And what are you supposed to buy Christmas dinner with? You keep that too," George said. "Now git home to your family."

The young man turned with tears streaming down his face. "I'll be here in the morning for work, if that job offer is still good."

"Nope. I'm closed Christmas day," George said. "See ya the day after."

George turned around to find that the stranger had returned. "Where'd you come from? I thought you left?"

"I have been here. I have always been here," said the stranger. "You say you don't celebrate Christmas. Why?"

"Well, after my wife passed away, I just couldn't see what all the bother was. Puttin' up a tree and all seemed a waste of a good pine tree. Bakin' cookies like I used to with Martha just wasn't the same by myself and besides I was getting a little chubby."

The stranger put his hand on George's shoulder. "But you do celebrate the holiday, George. You gave me food and drink and warmed me when I was cold and hungry. The woman with child will bear a son and he will become a great doctor.

The policeman you helped will go on to save 19 people from being killed by terrorists. The young man who tried to rob you will make you a rich man and not take any for himself. "That is the spirit of the season and you keep it as good as any man."

George was taken aback by all this stranger had said. "And how do you know all this?" asked the old man.

"Trust me, George. I have the inside track on this sort of thing. And when your days are done you will be with Martha again."

The stranger moved toward the door. "If you will excuse me, George, I have to go now. I have to go home where there is a big celebration planned."

George watched as the old leather jacket and the torn pants that the stranger was wearing turned into a white robe. A golden light began to fill the room.

"You see, George ... it's My birthday. Merry Christmas."

George fell to his knees and replied, "Happy Birthday, Lord Jesus"

A Quick Test To Evaluate Your Marriage.

Psalm 26:2 (NASB) says “Examine me, O Lord, and try me; Test my mind and my heart.”

BEFORE TAKING THIS QUICK TEST,

PLEASE HEED THESE TWO WARNINGS:

1. We encourage you to share this test with your spouse. But, if you are currently having tensions in your marriage, don’t take this test together or discuss your conclusions except in the presence of a wise Christian pastor or marriage counselor.

2. As you reply, concentrate on yourself, not on your spouse.

IF YOU TRULY DESIRE A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE,

ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

1. Are you patient with your spouse (when he/she is doing something they really enjoy like shopping or playing golf, etc,)?

2. Are you kind to him/her with your tongue? (Or do you put him/her down face to face or behind their back?)

3. Are you jealous or envious of your spouse? (Is there any freedom or success of his/hers that you resent?)

4. Are you “boastful” (loud-mouthed)? (Do you shout angrily at your spouse when you are frustrated?)

5. Are you proud (vain)? (Do you feel that the world should revolve around you?)

6. Are you haughty, selfish or rude? (Blunt words often have the sharpest edges. Do you cut your spouse off in mid sentence to fire back a blunt word or unkind statement? Do you constantly interrupt him/her? Do you ever tell him/ her to shut up or swear at them?)

7. Do you always demand your own way? (Is your idea of marriage a master-slave relationship? Or a parent-child relationship, where your spouse ought to do everything for you?)

8. Are you irritable or touchy? (How do you speak to your spouse when he/she interrupts your point of concentration? Do you lose your temper, or do you give him/her the attention they need? How much of your body language shows him/her your disapproval of lack of love?)

9. Do you refuse to forgive your spouse when he/she sins against you (commits adultery, etc.)? Matthew 6:14-15 (NASB) says “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.”

10. Are you ever glad (secretly or otherwise) when your spouse is treated unfairly? (Are you ever happy at the thought of your spouse having an unpleasant experience that “serves him/her right”?)

11. Are you glad when truth wins out? (Do you accept the fact that he/she might be right about some things, and you might be wrong? How do you feel when that happens?

12. Are you loyal to your spouse? (Do you flirt with others or pay any attention to their flirting with you? Are you allowing any other human or things to shove your spouse into second place?)

13. Do you always trust your spouse and believe he/she will do the right thing? If “No”, you need to have a serious discussion and establish some rules.

14. Do you always stand your ground in defense of your spouse? (Do you quickly order your children, regardless of their age, to apologize if they are rude to your spouse? Do you ever let anyone talk negatively about your spouse without defending him/her?)

DANGER – ROUGH ROAD AHEAD!

15. Do you discuss your anger toward your spouse or details of your intimate relationship with your spouse with others (parents, siblings, girlfriend, buddies, etc.)? If you are doing this, stop it now!

Why? Because you and your spouse may have had a heated argument or fight and have made up but, because you told these others, they will still be angry at your spouse and may continue to make negative statements about him/her. Then, you’ll become angry with them every time they say something negative about your spouse.

Your anger with your spouse or details of your intimate relationship should only be discussed with your spouse, God, or a wise Christian pastor or marriage counselor, if necessary.

THE END RESULT

If you have taken this “Quick Test”, been honest with your answers, and made the appropriate changes, you will be on your way to having a much happier spouse, greatly improving your marriage, and more peace in your home.

1. Be A Ready Listener And Do Not Respond Until Your Spouse Has Finished Talking.

Proverbs 18:13 (NIV) says “To answer before listening—that is folly and shame.”

2. Check For Understanding.

If you do not fully understand what your spouse has said, repeat back to him/her what you think he/she said and ask them to clarify their statement.

3. Be Slow To Speak. Think First. Don’t Be Hasty In Your Answers. Speak In Such A Way That Your Spouse Can Understand And Accept What You Say.

Proverbs 15:23 (NIV) says “A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—and how good is a timely word!”

Proverbs 15:28 (NIV) says “The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.”

Proverbs 21:23 (NIV) says “Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.”

Proverbs 29:20 (NIV) says “Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them.”

James 1:19 (NIV) says “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

4. Speak The Truth Always But Do It In Love. Do Not Exaggerate.

Ephesians 4:15 (NIV) says “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.”

Ephesians 4:25 (NIV) says “Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.”

Colossians 3:9 (NIV) says “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices.”

5. Do Not Use Silence To Frustrate Your Spouse. Explain Why You Are Hesitant To Talk At This Time.

Being silent is not always bad. You may want to be silent to keep from saying something that you shouldn’t and later, would regret.

6. Do Not Become Involved In Quarrels. It Is Possible To Disagree Without Quarreling.

Proverbs 17:14 (NIV) says “Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.”

Proverbs 20:3 (NIV) says “It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.”

7. Do Not Respond In Anger. Use A Soft And Kind Response.

Proverbs 14:29 (NIV) says “Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.”

Proverbs 15:1 (NIV) says “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Proverbs 25:15 (NIV) says “Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.”

Proverbs 29:11 (NIV) says “Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.”

Ephesians 4:26 (NIV) says “In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.”

Ephesians 4:31 (NIV) says “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.”

8. When You Are Wrong, Admit It And Ask For Forgiveness.

James 5:16 (NIV) says “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

9. Avoid Nagging.

Proverbs 10:19 (NIV) says “Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.”

Proverbs 17:9 (NIV) says “Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.”

Proverbs 20:5 (NIV) says “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”

10. Do Not Blame Or Criticize Your Spouse But Restore Them, Encourage Them And Edify Them.

Galatians 6:1 (NIV) says “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV) says “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

11. Try To Understand Your Spouse's Opinion. Make Allowances For Differences. Be Concerned About Their Interests.

Philippians 2:1-4 (NIV) says “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

Ephesians 4:2 (NIV) says “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

12. Avoid Bringing Up Past Offenses, Mistakes Or Sins That Are Not Relevant To The Current Issue.

A good, clean, respectful, focused disagreement can do wonders for your marriage by helping you solve problems, understand each other, get through difficult situations, and become aware of your own individual shortcomings and blind spots. Grossly over/under-stating or distorting the issue can be toxic and very damaging to your marriage!

5 Keys For Successfully Resolving Conflicts.

All of us have had or, if we live long enough, will have conflicts in our personal relationships. How we handle and resolve these conflicts is very important.

James 1:19 says “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

Here are the 5 keys needed to successfully resolve most of your conflicts.

KEY # 1: BE QUICK TO LISTEN

When we listen, we encourage the other person to talk. Listening also helps us to understand the other person and where they are coming from.

Many of us do not really listen like we should because we are defensive, we assume we already know what they are going to say next, or we're thinking about what we're going to say back to them.

During A Conflict, Here Is What You Should Do:

Listen not merely with your ears, but observe and listen with your eyes;
Focus on what the other person is saying, not what you are thinking;
Consider the meaning behind the words without jumping to conclusions.

Note: If you are not sure what you think they said, replay their statement back to them.

KEY # 2: BE SLOW TO SPEAK

God gave us two ears and one mouth. This may mean that we are to listen more and speak a whole lot less.

Here Are 4 Scriptures That Tell Us To

Limit What We Say During A Conflict.

Proverbs 10:19 says “In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.”

Proverbs 17:27 says “He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.”

Proverbs 21:23 says “Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.”

Ecclesiastes 5:3 says “For a dream comes through much activity, and a fool’s voice is known by his many words.”

KEY # 3: BE SLOW TO BECOME ANGRY

Ecclesiastes 7:9 says “Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.”

Proverbs 16:32 says “He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.”

Ephesians 4:26 says “Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath.”

Proverbs 29:22 says “An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.”

Remember, words spoken in anger are very difficult if not impossible to retract. Keep your words soft and sweet, you may have to eat them!

KEY # 4: BE LOVING AND KIND

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

You will never resolve any conflict by playing destructive games. Please don't ever do the following:

Blame the other person;
Think you know everything about the other person;
Insist that every detail be correct;
Rule by force – verbal or physical;
Compare the other person to someone else;
Act superior or “holier than thou”;
Bring up past conflicts that have nothing do do with the current conflict.

Key # 5: ATTEMPT TO SET THE STAGE BEFORE YOUR CONFLICT

Never have your conflict before eating a meal, going to church or a social event.
Never have your conflict when you or the other person are angry.
Have it in the right place when only the participants are involved ( never in front of children ).
Stay in control of your tone of voice.

Obviously, there are exceptions to the above, but if you use these 5 Keys and use them wisely, you should be able to successfully resolve most of your conflicts.

1. Anger – A strong passion or emotion of displeasure caused by a sense of injury or insult, usually antagonistic and excited and directed toward a person, event, or situation.

Psalm 37:8 says “Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.”

2. Envy Or Covetousness – Being discontented or resentful or longing after the good fortune of another. Wanting what someone else has.

Proverbs 14:30 says “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.”

James 3:16 says “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.”

3. Sloth (Laziness) – Being Idle or Unwilling to work. Also includes Indifference and an “I Don't Care Attitude”.

Proverbs 19:15 says “Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless go hungry.”

Ecclesiastes 10:18 says “Through laziness, the rafters sag; because of idle hands, the house leaks.”

4. Greed – A desire to acquire things beyond reason. Many people are chasing the almighty dollar and wanting more power, prestige, and position while ignoring family, friends, and other responsibilities.

Ephesians 5:5 says “For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.”

5. Lust – A natural sexual instinct or sinful desire that's gotten off track. Lust is rampant in our American culture. Pornography is now a $7 to $8 Billion Dollar Industry in the United States alone.

Matthew 5:28 says “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

6. Gluttony– Excessive Eating or Drinking. Many of us are eating and drinking too much and are literally killing ourselves with clogged arteries, high blood pressure and cholesterol, obesity, and other self inflicted infirmities. Examples: eating fried and other foods that we know are bad for us and drinking too much coke and other beverages containing way too much sugar.

Proverbs 23:21 says “For drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.”

7. Pride – Having an excessively high opinion of our self and being conceited. This is the most deadly sin of all because it makes us want to appear wiser, smarter, bigger, better, richer, finer, and more righteous than we really are. Some people, in an attempt to appear better off than they really are, have a bunch of credit cards all maxed out and, in reality, are completely broke.

Proverbs 16:18 says “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall”.

Ask God to search your heart and reveal any sins that you just don't want to own up to.

Use Your “Exousia” And “Dunamis”!

WHAT IS “EXOUSIA”?

“Exousia”, as used in the Bible, is a Greek word most often translated as “authority”.” It is especially used in terms of moral influence. “Exousia” can also be thought of in terms of jurisdiction or dominion over a certain realm, right, privilege, or ability.

Matthew 28:18 (NIV) says “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.’”

Luke 10:19 (NIV) says “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

John 1:12 (NIV) says “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”

Romans 13:1 (NIV) says “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

Colossians 2:15 (NIV) says “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”

Revelation 1:18 (NIV) says “I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

WHAT IS “DUNAMIS”?

“Dunamis”, as used in the Bible, is a Greek word used 120 times in the New Testament. Loosely, “Dunamis” refers to “strength, power, or ability.” It is the root word of our English words dynamite, dynamo and dynamic.

Luke 5:17 (NIV) says “One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick.”

Acts 1:8 (NIV) says “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

John 19:10 (NIV) says “Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. ‘Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?’”

1 Corinthians 15:24 (NIV) says “Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.”

2 Corinthians 13:4 (NIV) says “For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him in our dealing with you.”

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV) says “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

THINK ABOUT THE FOLLOWING:

* Am I allowing the Lord to work His power in me?
* Am I obstructing His working through me to others?
* What am I doing to clog up the works?

If we have this dynamite power in us, is it efficiently working? If our pipes, so to speak, are clogged with sin of whatever kind, it acts as sludge to contaminate His presence, and His power will not flow. We must be cleansed and filled with God’s holiness for His miracle-working power to be operative in us.

ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION:

IS HIS DYNAMITE POWER WORKING EFFICIENTLY IN ME?

* What works go undone?
* What wounds of others go unattended?
* What heartaches of others go uncomforted?
* What needs of others go unmet because I do not listen to the Lord’s leading or I harbor some sin, thereby, not allowing Him to work efficiently through me?

Luke 9:1 (NIV) says “When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases.”

When Jesus sent out the disciples, He gave them “power and authority” over demons, to preach the kingdom, and to heal the sick. The Greek word used here for power is, again, dunamis. Exousia is the word used for authority and also means privilege, force, mastery, token of control, delegated influence, jurisdiction, and so on.

That same power and delegated influence has been given to us, if Christ lives in us. Isn’t that an awesome thought? If we are “a dwelling place of God in the Spirit,” then His living power and energy resides within us, working as we agree with Him to accomplish His works.

Ephesians 2:22 (NIV) says “And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

Oh, if only we could begin to grasp the magnitude of His dynamite power and allowed Him full reign in our hearts, how much immeasurably more could we do for the Lord?

“Lord, I am Yours to command. Cleanse me of all that would hinder the flow of Your love, Your Spirit, and Your dynamite-power. Work Your will in me that I may bring glory to Your Name and be a reflection of Your mighty power, love, and grace to others. Amen!”

Seven Reasons Not To Worry!

Mattthew 6:25 says “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”

1. The same God who created life in you can be trusted with the details of your life.

Matthew 6:26 says “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

2. Worrying about the future hampers your efforts for today.

Matthew 6:27 says “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

3. Worrying is more harmful than helpful.

Matthew 6:28-30 says “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

4. God does not ignore those who depend on Him.

Matthew 6:31-32 says “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.”

5. Worry shows a lack of faith in and understanding of God.

Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

6. There are real challenges God wants us to pursue and worrying keeps us from them.

Matthew 6:34 says “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

7. Living one day at a time keeps us from being consumed with worry.

Note: The Bible tells us not to worry about those needs that God promises to supply.

Worrying has consequences:

It can bring your activities to a complete stop;
It can damage your health;
It can cause the object of your worry to consume your thoughts;
It can disrupt your productivity;
It can negatively affect the way you treat others;
It can reduce your ability to trust;
It can cause you to waste today.

Don't let worries about tomorrow affect what you do today. Planning for tomorrow is time well spent but worrying about tomorrow is time totally wasted! For we are not even promised a tomorrow.

Life And Death Are In The Power Of The Tongue!

The tongue is one of the smallest organs in the body and its potential for good or evil is very great.

The word “tongue” is often a reference to the spoken word and what our tongue produces has eternal significance, for it reveals what is in our heart. This holds true whether we’re speaking of spiritual, physical, or emotional “life and death.”

Proverbs 18:21 says “The tongue has the power of life and death.”

In the Bible, the books of Psalms, Proverbs and James contain many scriptures referencing tongues (way too many to list in this post).

TONGUES CAN GIVE AND SAVE LIVES

Proverbs 11:30 says “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.”

Tongues can reconcile peoples and make peace. Tongues can make marriages sweet, families strong, and churches healthy. Tongues can give hope to the despairing, advance understanding, and spread the gospel.

Tongues can also save lives. Examples: A doctor recommends a life saving surgery; a counselor gives hope to a person contemplating suicide with an uplifting word; or a tornado warning is issued just in time.

TONGUES CAN CAUSE DEATH OR RUIN A LIFE

Proverbs 16:28 says “A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.”

People can die because of something someone says. Example: A false witness can be the cause of a death or prison sentence.

Tongues have caused the death of marriages, families, friendships, churches, careers, and even governments.

Tongues have caused wars and mass destruction. And, murders are often initiated because of arguments.

A slanderer can destroy the reputation of a good person and a seductive woman or man can, by their tempting words, ruin a person's life.

Proverbs 21:23 says “Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.”

WATCH WHAT YOU SAY

Have you ever lied? Have you ever hurt someone's feelings by your words or tone of voice? Are you bitter toward anyone? Do you become angry with those who strongly disagree with you?

What you say and what you don't say are both important. Proper speech is not only saying the right words at the right time, but it is also controlling your desire to say what you shouldn't.

Examples of an untamed tongue include gossiping, putting others down, bragging, manipulating, false teaching, exaggerating, complaining, flattering and lying. Before you speak, ask “Is what I want to say true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?”

Today, be a person whose mouth is full of life. Speak words that encourage, that are kind and tenderhearted. Remember, compassion produces greater results than criticism or blame. Say something affectionate to a loved one at an unexpected time. Seek to only speak words that are good for building up – not tearing down.

ASK GOD FOR WISDOM

Ask God to give you wisdom on when to speak and what to say or what not to say. The power of life and death is in your tongue today...so choose life!

If you are saved, God is your Heavenly father. He loves you and wants the very best for you. And, always remember, there is much power in your words.

Ask, Seek, Knock.

Matthew 7:7-12 says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

Note 1: In the above scripture verses, we are told to persist in pursuing God. People often give up after a few halfhearted attempts and conclude that God cannot be found.

But knowing God takes faith, focus, and follow through, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded. Don't give up in your efforts to seek God. Continue to ask Him for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love and understanding. He will give them to you in His time.

Note 2: The child in Jesus' example asked his father for bread and fish – something good and necessary. If the child had asked for a poisonous snake, would a wise father have given it to him? No! God knows when we are asking for something that is not good for us and does not give us what we are asking for, even though we persist in our asking.

As we learn to know God better as a loving father, we learn to ask for what is good for us, and then, He grants our request in His time.

Note 3: Jesus is showing us the heart of God the father. God is not selfish, envious, resentful or stingy, and we don't have to beg as we come with our requests. He is a loving father who understands and cares.

If we can be kind, just imagine how kind God, the creator of kindness, can be!

Matthew 7:8 says “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

So, don't give up, continue to ask, to seek and to knock and you will be successful!

We have come too far to turn around – for us, there is no going back. It is our hope that this post will help you take one step further in your journey.

MAIN THOUGHT

Many people try to do what is right, but Jesus says that the only way to live a truly good life is to abide in Him, like a branch attached to the vine.

John 15:4 (NKJV) says “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”

ADDITIONAL THOUGHT: DEFINITION OF “ABIDE”

To wait patiently for;
To rest satisfied with;
To remain in one place or state.

RESULTS OF ABIDING

You will bring forth much fruit;
You can be all things through Christ;
You can ask Jesus whatever you will and it shall be done;
Your joy will be full.

VERY IMPORTANT POINT

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This only applies to what Jesus has anointed or called you to do. If you can do it all by yourself, it is not of God. God works through you to accomplish what He desires.

CLOSING THOUGHT

When a vine bears new fruit, God is glorified; for daily He sends the sunshine and rain to make the crops grow. What a moment of glory for the Lord of the Harvest when the harvest is brought into the barn safe and ready for use.

God makes it all happen. Likewise, God is glorified when people come into right relationships with Him and begin to bear much fruit in their lives.

John 10:10 (NKJV) says “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The Pitfalls of False Grace For ‘Minor Sin’.

"And "If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" (1 Peter 4:18 ).

With the emergence of the false-grace, or what I prefer to call unbiblical grace, teachings, the thought of worshiping, tithing, praying, Bible reading Christians who have great families and seem to be the model of righteousness going to Hell seems ridiculous.

I believe this is one of the most important passages of Scripture in today's false-grace generation:

"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" (Hebrews 10:26-31).

This means that tongue-talking, hand-lifting pastors, for example, can go to Hell if they struggle with lust. People that refuse to forgive another are at risk of Hell. If we continue in sin the Bible is clear—there remains no sacrifice for those sins.

There are supposed minor sins such as gossip, lust, rebellion to authority, lying and others that seem to fly below our radar—but not God's.

We can't continue in so-called minor sins and presume all to be well. We will experience judgment in this life and in the next if we do not repent. This brings the sweet little lady who's known as the church gossip into the light—and a terrifying light it is.

Have you ever met someone who has lived with unforgiveness in their heart? What about someone who is into pornography? It's horrifying to think this, but those very people, even if they are amazing in every other way, are very possibly unsaved right now.

Barna recently reported that 97 percent of born again Christian men are into pornography, and 84 percent of Christian women are viewing pornography.

Is it any wonder Leonard Ravenhill famously said that he doubts that 5 percent of professing born again Christians in America are truly saved?

"Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation..." (Hebrews 2:1-3).

Consider Corrie Ten Boom. You may have read her story in the book, The Hiding Place. She was a general in the faith as she and her family hid Jews during the Holocaust. Eventually they were discovered and were put into a concentration camp. She ministered Jesus in inhuman conditions. She was faithful in a time where all faith was lost.

Ultimately, after torture at the hands of one particular guard and countless horrors, her entire family was killed. The war ended and Corrie was released.

Shortly after Corrie was walking down the road when a man approached her. He said, "Excuse me, you were in the camp, weren't you?" Corrie affirmed that she was. He continued, "After the war I gave my life to Jesus. I prayed that he would allow me to find one person that I hurt so badly in the concentration camp." It was the guard—the one who brutally tortured and killed her family.

He said, "I told God that I wanted to seek their forgiveness. Would you please forgive me?"

Corrie, in her own words, shared her reaction. She said that she simply could not forgive him. As that thought consumed her soul, God spoke to her. He said, "Corrie, if you don't forgive him, I won't forgive you."

She knew, as a general in the faith, if she refused to forgive that man than she herself would die in her sins. Hell was her future. She then looked at the man who brought so much horror to her and took his hand and said, "I do forgive you." She said the love of God shot through her hand into the former guard's.

Tragically, so many Christians today presume they are exempt from such truths in Scripture. "For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14-15).

Daniel Ekechukwu

Daniel Ekechukwu is a Nigerian pastor who died tragically in a car accident. He was told that he would go to Hell if he wasn't raised up—because he refused to forgive his wife regarding an issue.

"Daniel, if the book of your life was to be closed today, this would be your portion."

"No, I'm a pastor; I'm a child of God. I'm born-again—and I've preached all over…"

"Enough, Daniel, on your way to the first hospital, you were asking God to forgive you, but you would not forgive your wife. And your sins have not been forgiven. It is a matter of reaping what you've sown. You cannot sow un-forgiveness to your wife and reap forgiveness from God."

For the world to see Jesus in you, always do the following:

1. ACT LIKE A CHILD OF GOD.

Philippians 2:14-15 (NKJV) says “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”

2. DON'T WORRY.

Philippians 4:4-7 (NKJV) says “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

3. MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS.

Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV) says “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”

4. ALWAYS GIVE GOD THE PRAISE FIRST.
