Fix: Changes for a new, more recent Warranty Expiration date returned by the Manufacturer's API is not considered

When the warranty expiration date returned the manufacturer API lookup changes (i.e. because of a warranty renewal), it is not pushed back to the PSA (if the write-back is enabled).
This causes the PSA date and API date to become different dates, and since the PSA date has priority over the Manufacturer's API date when they are different, the new, updated expidation date is never considered in budget calculations. It's like the renewal never happened.
The UI would report that the PSA date is different (i.e. display an orange badge instead of a green one)
In order to be impacted, you must have write back to PSA enabled and have had a warranty renewed.
Since the Purchase Date does not change over time, it should not be impacted.

Warranty Expiration and Purchase Dates already in ConnectWise Manage are sometimes off by a few hours from the dates returned by the Manufacturer's API because the hours were dropped in ConnectWise. A 36-hour tolerance on the dates is now applied so that if two dates (from CW and the manufacturer's API) are within 36 hours of one another, they are considered the same and the API-returned date is considered to be the correct one. From the "company detail page", you can now set the company's Fiscal Year Start. This will adapt the quarters displayed in the budget so that Q1 is the company's "Fiscal Q1". Instead of picking a number of points for audit questionnaire, there is now a drop down list of "Low, Medium, High, Critical" pre-defined values (5, 10, 20, 40 points respectively).
You can specify a custom number of points if your prefer.

Dell Warranty API version update

Update "Write Back to ConnectWise" mechanism+ UI Improvements + other fixes

Modification to the "Write Back to ConnectWise Manage" Mechanism

Propel Your MSP can optionally write back Purchase Date and Warranty Expiration Date back to ConnectWise Manage after they have been queried from the manufacturer's Warranty API.

Before: When the Warranty API query was successful, the value was written back to ConnectWise Manage's Configuration. During an Asset synchronization with ConnectWise, if the value from ConnectWise was different from the API value, then the API value was written back to ConnectWise. This could result in an infinite update "battle" if another system is also updating ConnectWise and the values are different for some reason.

New behavior: When there is already a different value present in ConnectWise (e.g. populated by another system), the "write back" will no longer be performed. In addition, that different value present in ConnectWise Manage will be considered the "correct value" instead of the manufacturer's API value. Only when the ConnectWise value and the API value are the same will the "write back" be performed.

Other Feature Improvements

Sets the OS End of Life date for "Windows Server 2019" during Asset synchronization with ConnectWise Manage (was previously undetected)

Better visual indication when an Asset field has been manually overridden (i.e.not the policy's default or ConnectWise's or Warranty API's value)

It is now possible to force a page break between each Project when generating an IT Project Roadmap. This is useful if you often use long descriptions as it will generate more consistent documents

Preparing for Audit Module Beta

We are about to release the first version of a new "Audit Module". An important update aimed toward that objective has been released. A Opt-In Beta program to test the Audit Module will be offered. If you interested to participate, please email support@propelyourmsp.com.

Audit Module's main features:

Create custom Audit Questionnaires to audit your best practices against all your customers
Questions are in the form of "yes/no" questions to simplify to auditor's and reviewer's task
Questions are weighed toward a final Audit Score
A question can be marked as "mandatory pass" and the audit will fail if the answer is "no" regardless of the score
The auditor can add comments to an answer, if necessary
Audit questions can be scope per Company or per Site
When starting a new Audit, you can determine which Sites are to be included. Each questions scoped per Site are duplicated for each selected site
When reviewing an audit, you can push new Service Tickets directly to ConnectWise Manage to address issues or create Project Opportunities in Propel Your MSP to include in your IT Roadmap

Note: You will need to add extra security rights to ConnectWise Manage API Member used by Propel Your MSP to allow creating Service Ticket in CW. See this Knowledge Base Article about API Member key creation for more information.

Updates to Asset Categories: Force EOL if no OS Upgrade + restructure "Use template values"

New feature for Asset Categories: Force the End Of Life of assets not meeting the "remaining lifespan" requirements for an OS Upgrade

When your Asset Category Policy states that you perform In-Place OS Upgrades for assets still having 24 months before their End of Life, it did not state what to do with those that do not meet that constraint. Now, checking the new "Force End of Life for Others" checkbox will set the asset's End of Life date to the OS End of Life date for those not meeting that 24 months requirements.

"Use template values" for Company Asset Category is now per section

The "Use template values" checkboxes that mean to use the master category template's value instead of having a local copy in the Company Asset Category is now per section instead of per value. It makes it simplier to keep a whole section in "sync" with the master template instead of having to check all values individually.

Fix and Improvements: Asset Grid Column Sizes, "Sync End of Life to OS" checkbox and "Lifespan" column

Improvements/Modifications

Add a read-only (for now) "Lifespan" column to the Asset Grid. This gives the number of years between the purchase date and the end of life date.
Some date or actions Asset Grid columns were resized and made non-resizeable.

Fixes

On a company's first access, if the "Sync End of Life to OS" checkbox is checked in the master template, it is not copied over.
When exporting a document in the "fr-CA" culture, the date format should be "yyyy-MM-dd", instead of "yy-MM-dd".

New feature: Project Templates

The "Project Templates" feature has been released.

It is now possible to save a project as a template and create new projects from that template. This will save you time when creating the same project in multiple client companies and will also help keep them standardized to your internal best practices. You can add "instructions" to the template to serve as guidelines to the vCIO creating the project.

Lenovo made some changes to their Warranty API and that caused some errors to be treated as successes. Some assets were marked as Lenovo even they were actually Dell (because both have 7 characters in their Serial Numbers). The issue has been fixed by adapting to the new response format by Lenovo.

Two new Asset Category settings related to OS End of Life

Two new Asset Category settings related to the OS End of Life are introduced:

Budget OS Upgrade X months early ()
OS End of Life Action can be set to "Force End of Life"

The first is similar to the existing warranty renewal and replacement budgeting options. It allows budgeting the OS End of Life action a few months before the actual date the OS become unsupported.

The second allows forcing the asset's End of Life Action, whetever it be retire, keep or replace when the OS End of Life date is reached. For example, you may want to retire all Windows 7 PCs early, even if the hardware is still within it's lifespan.
