This is as close as they get 12 range unless you manually tell it to get closer only thing your likely hitting is your own zealots funny thing is your still in the range of tanks which they can out range this is literally more work then prepatch .

I think if this was set to 7 sit behind stalkers immortals this would be positive change .

Also I legit hate this unit as a terran like I wish it was removed but if its going to be in the game it should not be setup to fail I do legit wonder if this is contributing to toss' horrible win rate as well i know the other changes are bad for them too but this is like ninja nerf that likely gets over looked a lot .

The Brood War AI in Play Custom is funny

The Terran AI will sometimes not build a single Engineering Bay so that means they can't build Missile Turrets and upgrade infantry. When they do this they will tech straight to Battlecruisers and Science Vessels, and they will have Wraiths and Valkyries constantly being created.

The Zerg AI will gather minerals and vespene for the longest time without upgrading to Hive tech. Then out of nowhere they will send an immense attack force right towards you and upgrade to Hive tech right after.

The Protoss AI sometimes will Dark Templar rush you. Against multiple AI opponents I've seen the AI do DT rushes on each other and be hilariously effective.

I watched a brief part of his stream today. He is toxic af. He is a piece of sh!t that would be called out in other game communities like dota etc. In 20 minutes of viewing, he called his opponent unskilled, he BM'ed a different opponent "Do you know any other builds, other than CC first?" while losing to a terran strat that he plays as well. He complains about maps, he complains about anyone better than him, "protoss is just A move"

Why do so many people support him financially and through views?

A plea from the team games community

I know most people play 1v1, but the team games scene is still active, at least for the time being. I know team games aren't usually the priority, but the worker count change has completely ruined and destroyed team game balance and fun. People are just instantly dying to speedling or hellion rushes, which are nearly impossible to hold in 2v2 or 4v4, and due to the mechanics of team games, thanks to warpgate changes protoss ground is almost unviable so everybody just goes straight to tempest/void ray which is very sad and lame.

Because Terran and Zerg can produce units like Reapers, Hellions, and Zerglings directly from their standard low-tier tech structures, they inherently gain complete map control. On large team maps, a group of early Hellions or Speedlings can run laps around the map, picking off the delayed expansions of anyone trying to play a standard macro game. If you try to expand at a normal time with protoss, you are essentially giving away a free base to the enemy's map-control units. So protoss players have stopped expanding and do turtle skytoss every game which is not just boring as protoss players, but when playing zerg or terran every game being against tempest/carrier has made people quit already.

It seems like absolutely zero consideration was given to team games with this patch.

Please bring back the old patch. A lot of my friends and many other team ladder players are going to stop because the game is just broken now.

Why does this game make me so angry?

I played a game where a dude tried to gateway rush me, directly under my overlord. I blocked the gateway from going up. The dude start insulting me in chat. I expanded while counter-attacking with lings, and killed some probes as I saw a bronze-league level of defensive cannons, telegraphing an air attack and/or DTs as a second wave cheese. He insulted me some more as I built a few spores and teched to roach/hydra. The spores easily defended the void rays that came out, and he insulted me some more as I denied his third and took my own fourth and fifth, and then I played waaaay too passively just waiting for him to come out of his fortress, which he eventually did with mass carriers that A-moved me to death.

And I lost and I got mad and I stayed mad. I'm still a little mad right now. And that's unusual for me! I don't normally get angry at video games, even frustratingly difficult ones. I made it through Bilewater just fine. And on the rare occasions I do get angry, I pause and take a deep breath and it passes fairly quick.

And then I play Starcraft for like an hour and suddenly I'm Artosis. And yeah, it's not hard to figure out why getting a huge lead against a dude calling me slurs only to blow it through overconfidence made me upset, but I don't like it. It makes me feel like playing this game isn't healthy for me, if it gets me worked up and I yell at my screen every time I get all-ined or lose to a two-base turtle despite having five bases. How do you...deal with it? What is it about this game specifically that upsets people so much and how do you keep from tilting? I haven't gotten to the point where I, like, yell at people IRL or anything but I still don't like what this game is doing to me.

A little reminder for the specifics of the Queen of Blades round:

Any iteration of Queen of Blades counts, both the original and primal QoB. Kaldir and Char missions of HotS were previously attributed to human Kerrigan, so these don't count. I don't want to explicitly prohibit Xel'Naga Kerrigan, but I suggest this would be against the spirit of the zerg episode and therefore would rather prefer LotV epilogue ignored.

My thoughts on 1v1 vs Team Games

As one of many returning players, I've had quite a bit of fun getting back into the game and learning new builds with everyone else following the patch (I actually feel like I'm keeping stride with the pack instead of playing catchup). However, I've run into a few games that have reminded me why I've had trouble keeping up with the game over the past few years.

One of the issues I think has been present in the game for a very long time (this is not a hot take) is how players who aren't master+ sometimes feel forced into certain playstyles when faced with particular strategies. Playing against a turtling mech or skytoss can be frustrating because my only victory condition becomes playing a style that I hadn't intended to when I hit the "Ranked" button. Same goes for cheese. Once one player decides they want to all-in at the 1 minute mark, both players now have to totally play around that choice, no matter what the other player was intending to do. Sometimes, winning against a cannon rusher at the 4 minute mark doesn't even excite me, I feel like I wasted my time trying to practice an unrelated build order.

With that said, I've found that team games (especially 3v3 & 4v4) flip this completely on its head. So what if somebody decides to 8 pool, our team can deal with it together while I have fun massing marauders. If an opponent or two wants to turtle into skytoss, I can have much more fun playing against his isolated allies until we take on the maxed out carrier fleet as a team. There's so much more freedom to express all kinds of builds and timings that isn't really present in 1v1, and I'm a little disheartened that it doesn't get more attention.

Perhaps I simply don't have the insight being a casual starcraft fan, but I feel like the casual state of the game would be in a much better spot in the modern year if Blizzard and pro players didn't dedicate the entirety of the game to 1v1. I feel by advertising the cool, fast, intense style of 1v1 as THE way that people play starcraft, it crippled the more free and casual vibe of playing in a team. Perhaps if people are unhappy with the meta of 1v1, more people might turn to the more "loosey goosey" modes

tl:dr, I've found team games to feel far more freeing than any experience I've had in 1v1, and I wish the competitive community took more genuine interest in the mode

Why Medivac single-button pickup is a good thing, and we should promote more simplification changes to further and promote the game

im fully in support of the new Medivac change that adds a one-button “load all” command, and I think it’s a step in the right direction for StarCraft II.

A lot of the pushback seems to center around the idea that this reduces skill expression or “dumbs down” the game. I don’t really see it that way. Removing repetitive, low-impact mechanical actions doesn’t eliminate skill—it shifts where skill actually matters.

There’s a difference between meaningful micro and friction. Rapidly clicking individual units into a Medivac isn’t an interesting decision-making challenge. Instead it ends up being a mechanical tax, which isn't necessarily "fun." The real skill expression in SC2 has always been about positioning, timing, multitasking, and strategic decision-making under pressure. Streamlining basic actions like this frees up mental bandwidth to focus on those higher-level aspects.

If anything, this kind of change raises the skill ceiling in a more meaningful way. When players aren’t bogged down by unnecessary input overhead, they can execute more complex strategies, respond faster to opponent actions, and make better decisions overall.

We already accept similar quality-of-life improvements across the game—control groups, smart casting, rally points, worker auto-mining. None of these “ruined” skill expression; they refined it. This feels like a continuation of that same philosophy.

SC2 is at its best when the challenge comes from out thinking and outmaneuvering your opponent, not from wrestling with the interface. Reducing friction while preserving strategic depth is a net win.

Last time this happened was

WCS 2017 Jönköping Main Tournament vs neeb.

So serral was almost unbeatable in zvp in a bo7 for like round about 9 years

Edit actually beat trap him in 2020 on the voidray patch. So it is only 6 years but still
