Hey again, folks! One Terran character is all done, just seven more to go, keep it up! Today we're picking the best quote for Sarah Kerrigan.

Note: since it's a Terran episode, please provide quotes for human Kerrigan — pre-infestation and in between her de-infestation and turning Primal in HotS. Queen of Blades will be a separate character of a Zerg episode!

(Since HotS has variable mission order, for the purposes of these treat all Kaldir and Char missions of HotS, as well as everything before Supreme, as quotes of human Kerrigan)

Now, perceptive among you might've also noticed the list of Terran characters has shrunk a little. Vice Admiral Stukov has indeed departed from our ranks, but fear not, he'll be back with us later, just with a little more Zerg in his hair. I've found that the list of Terran characters is long enough as it is, while Zerg characters are much harder to come by, so I've decided to put him into the next episode, ~~and it's totally not just my excuse for bringing Duke's voting day closer any way I can~~.

Some Questions from a Beginner

So I have been playing Star Craft II for about ten hours at this point, and I think I have a good sense of what needs to improve the most. I am focusing on Terran.

Scouting: how does it work? What commands should I give my scout?
How do I know what units to play in which scenarios?
I am pretty much confined to using the F2 button. How do I improve my management of smaller army types?
What is the most efficient way to que? For instance, if I want a worker to build a Depot and then a Barracks, how do I tell him (at the start) of the game to do this in the most efficient way? Or: how do I tell a tank to move and then transform, especially if it is moving as part of a larger unit? How do I tell a troop being created to join another control group or perform a certain task?
How do I create control groups? How do I add things to them?
Why is the best build order? When do I want to engage?
How do I make sure I am not overrun in the early game?
Is there a list of the important tech pieces (e.g. how to perform keyboard combinations so as to be more efficient)?
What resources can I study to improve?

How to beat CPU cats map on hard solo

I can beat it on medium solo and also on hard if there is at least another player and I have enough time to get 4 gas start.

On hard solo I can barely get 2 gas if I make no mistakes but 4 seems impossible. Is there any way to cheese the start or trick them so you have enough time?

If Hybrid on Skygeirr could psionically drain Kerrigan across the lab, why can't other hybrid?

So let me get this straight: Narud/Amon could just have hidden a bunch of hybrids around Kerrigan and let them drain her psionically and just win, but neither ever attempt to do it?
Did she somehow evolve to resist it?
Are Skygeirr hybrid somehow better than the rest?
Whats going on here?

Who the hell is HODU on SC2 Ladder?

Just checked the EU ladder:

Who the heck is HODU?!

7300 MMR as Zerg - beating Serral 3-0 in ZvZ.

7100 MMR as Protoss - 121 -4 record. Crushing Serral/Clem/Maxpax multiple times. So it's not either of those 3 with an alt.

He plays on both Korean and EU server but recently solely EU...

Who the hell could this be?!

The only reasonable thought could be Her0/Classic playing with lag...but there's no way they're at that level. Do either of them off-race as Zerg?

Either way, anyone have insights on who the heck this guy is?

This game is so good

Every few years I come back to this game for a season or so not long commitment;

its so engaging and rewarding- every APM counts, every new strat idea counts, every matchup counts, every cheese counts (W or L). typical matches are like 6-10 minutes, the longest match will be like 25 minutes which feels pretty breezy compared to other games.
Getting cheesed is a brilliant display of adaption and resilience,

planning my PvZ; early natural, charge zealot spam (beat the lings, they adapt into roach), into 2 phoenix into a void ray (kill overlords, beat the roach and force a hydra transition) into a colossus (beat the hydra) and zealots flanking all over FEELS BRILLIANT

next game was a rematch... and fucking nydus swarm hosts hit me at like 5 minutes wiping out my probes, my adaption was patrol zealots on the perimeter and keep the zerg on 2 base , he forced too much gas and didnt have the unit count to expand and eventually I overwhelmed him

I love getting proxy rax cheesed: scout their base, scouting the rax, and then I sneak 2 zealot across the map and it decimates their mineral line while I hold with a shield battery and adepts

this game is so so so fucking brilliant and expressive, gotta love it, so glad it exists!
I also quit Dota2 this year and this game has been amazing to fill the vacancy.

Dominion Fleet

I know it has been discussed multiple times but yeah, I just saw a 7yr old post regarding the 50 battlecruisers that the Dominion had in WoL, sorry. ✌️

My personal view on this is that the 50 declared were the Minotaur Class Battlecruiser as it is the mainstay ships of the Dominion Navy. There are still other older and newer models of battlecruisers and other ship classes being fielded by the Dominion Military.

There is a broodwar and SC2 top player named herO, stylized the same way.

Is this just coincidence or is there a reason, like is hero a popular Korean cultural reference and is it popular to stylize names with a capital at the end?

Ranking system is bonkers

This is a rant. The game drives me nuts. Every time I win some games against ppl I then get matched against ppl 400mmr above me and they destroy me.

Better yet, sometimes I check their profile and see the race they played is near my mmr, but their other race is sometimes up to 600-700 mmr higher.

Im really struggling to get out of plat 3 and this keeps happening. Then i get matched again and again against way higher opponents and drop all the 200 mmr i worked for so hard only to start from scratch again.

Its driving me nuts. I hate this. To make matters worse, freaking leavers sometimes inflate my mmr too, sometines 3-4 times in a row. Leavers with higher mmr. What does that eventually get me? High mmr players that blast me back down.

Then I get matched against players that are noticeably worse than me, way below mmr. Thanks to my losing streak. So I get to play several games against opponents that pose little challange.

Wich results in me no getting any practice against ppl on my level. Fair games. Most importantly - FUN. Easy wins arent fun. Hard losses arent either.

Im tired of this cycle. Im a noob, but i still want to enjoy games and work myself up.

But its so rare that I get even matches. I cant stop playing either, bcs the good games are so fun. But theres nothing worse then winning a few hard fought, fair games, on my mmr, only to play against someone thats 500mmr higher. Im hardstuck at 2.7k. Work up to 2.8 or 2.9 and then get blasted by 3.2 or even 3.4

I just had to get this off my chest so I can play another game. Thanks
