1080P became the ultimate goal for gamers back when the seventh generation of consoles launched, and even the PCs of mere mortals were able to reach that holy grail with AAA titles by the time the Radeon HD 5970 and G-Force GTX 480 came out in 2010.

So why are we still getting excited about 1080P graphics cards in 2022, especially when they cost, what almost $400? Am I in a time loop? Oh man, not again!

Why AMD radeon RX 6600 XT makes sense

The AMD radeon RX 6600 XT is a strange release in many ways. Yeah, it makes sense to release a GPU that's less than half the die size of the AMD radeon RX 6800XT. And, yeah, it makes sense that it would use 16 gigabit GDDR6 chips. Both of those things make it far easier to manage supply constraints that have been strangling production and are projected to continue into 2022 or even 2023, depending on who you ask.

No, what's strange is the pricing, which we will get to, I promise, but also the fact that because there isn't an AMD branded card this time around, AMD has made the decision to send factory overclocked cards to reviewers, which means that everything you see from this point on needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Sure, the card has all the same basic features. It's got 8 gigabytes of GDDR6 memory, 32 compute units, and as many megs of infinity cache, and all the goodies that come with RDNA2, like Ray Accelerators, real-time Ray tracing support, but that's where the similarities between the basic spec and what they've sent us end. And what they've sent us is AsRock's seriously overbuilt Phantom Gaming D card. With a whopping three fans and as many heat pipes to handle the 160 Watts worth of heat this thing is supposed to be kicking out.

The overclock itself is pretty mild at about 80 megahertz in game and under 20 megahertz at peak boost, which Andy says will be typical of other factory overclocked cards, so this atypical cooler is probably overkill. The back plate for its part is thin and seems to mostly be for show with what looks to be a pair of thick boy thermal pads on the back of the PCB. I say looks like, because in order to get the back plate off, you need to take the cooler off, and we've got benchmarks to do before we mess with the card's thermal characteristics.

You know the drill: GPU bench, latest updates, AMD's immediate family, and the two Nvidia GPUs that the 6600 XT is most likely to take head-on. You'll note we're using more RAM than before. Dual write memory is good for you, you should try it. Helps keep Ryzen fed anyway. All our games will be running 1080P max settings with Ray tracing turned to minimum where applicable.

Gaming benchmarks - AMD radeon RX 6600 XT

Starting off with some surprising wins, Forza Horizon 4 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla put AMD's mid tier GPU ahead of NVIDIA's RTX 3060 Ti by about 15 to 25%, which is absolutely fantastic considering the cards are priced so close together.

Unfortunately, this pattern doesn't hold up as we move on to other games like Final Fantasy 14 and F1 2021, where even with Ray tracing off, the Radeon loses out by about 10%, putting it closer to the cheaper RTX 3060. This gets even worse when Ray tracing is enabled and especially for a global illumination title like Metro Exodus, where we see the diminished Ray Accelerator count really bring the pain.

Thankfully, global illumination is not really common yet, but it's worth testing them all the same. None of these results are especially bad, to be clear. The lowest non Ray tracing result was still well over 60 FPS and 1% minimums. And it's consistently much faster than the RTX 3060, but when you're forking over 3060 Ti money, it all starts to look like an advertisement for that card instead.

Productivity benchmarks - AMD radeon RX 6600 XT

As always with cards this low on the ladder, productivity isn't a major consideration, but we're including benchmarks here, because it's very possible that you need something affordable for work at home. And given that for $20 more, the RTX 3060 Ti punches up to trade blows with the AMD radeon RX 6700 XT, it's no surprise that the cutdown AMD radeon RX 6600 XT can't really compete here either even against the RTX 3060.

That's not to say that there aren't some AMD wins in productivity though, even though the infinity cache is much smaller with this card, its ridiculously fast speed helps it in memory intensive tasks like in the energy and medical tests in SPECviewperf. Although, chances are this class of card will never see that kind of workload, so it's a hollow victory.

Thermals and power - AMD radeon RX 6600 XT

For thermals, considering neither the cooling nor the clocks are stock, and this card's probably not destined for a workstation, we'll do something a little different today and use two loops of five laps in F1 2021 to simulate gameplay and see if that game clock can endure some heat. As it turns out, AMD's total power estimate was pretty accurate, with an average of about 180 Watts and a peak of 225, well below the RTX 3060 Ti. But unfortunately also about as far above the RTX 3060.

The extremely overbuilt cooler does the job fantastically though, with temperatures hovering around 60 degrees at all times in our closed chassis bench. It kept boosting too, with clocks throughout the test staying stable at about that 2.6 gigahertz advertised maximum. Not a bad showing at all, but then again, this is a factory overclocked card.

Some other weird stuff about AMD radeon RX 6600 XT

Your mileage may vary. And here's another weird thing about this launch. See these, these pins here. As the pre-launch rumor suggested, they're 100% for show. You can even see where they stopped being connected to anything. Yeah, this GPU is wired for only eight lanes of PCI Express, which seems like a waste of material. Like, why have a full x16 cartridge connector filled out with pins? I guess it helps with physical stability?

I mean, this genuinely threw me for a loop when I first noticed it, but eight lanes of Gen 4 makes sense when you think about it. Not only are they equivalent to 16 Gen 3 lanes, most GPUs at this performance level won't even begin to utilize the full bandwidth of a 16 lane slot. This means that you're giving up nothing to use one of these cards in one x16 slot and then populate the other with a dual NVMe card or something, without compromising the performance of either. Heck, if you're not squeamish, you can safely mod the card for use as a server chassis or something without losing any functionality.

AMD radeon RX 6600 XT Price on Amazon

now, we've gotta talk about the price. At $349 for the base model, it's a steep ask. When this card was announced, we went into the reasons why this price, while painful, makes sense in today's marketplace, but it's going to continue being compared to the launch price of the RTX 3060 and especially the 3060 Ti, which is priced very competitively at $400. The only problem with this take though is those prices no longer exist and arguably never did. Third parties were charging well in excess of that before those cards launched.

There's no founders edition for the 3060, and third parties are going to prefer higher margin cards with the precious few GPUs they're able to get. In my opinion, that MSRP only really exists as a contractual obligation to make it seem like it's cheaper than it really is in order to undercut the competition. And I suspect the same is true of the AMD radeon RX 6600 XT's MSRP too. Just look at how much backlash they got for saying $379.

In fact, it seems that they're so concerned with perception that they wouldn't even tell us how much this particular AsRock card costs and neither did AsRock. If they pipe up before the video is done, I'll put the price on screen now.

Conclusion - AMD radeon RX 6600 XT

All of which is to say, it's impossible to tell you what the real MSRP of any of these cards is other than what Nvidia and AMD say they are. That makes it difficult to put the AMD radeon RX 6600 XT into perspective.

On the one hand, it's slower than the RTX 3060 Ti, that is its true price competitor, but on the other, whether that price exists or not depends on who you ask. Our recommendation therefore is this: if MSRP matters to you, the AMD radeon RX 6600 XT is an underwhelming, but not disastrous, GPU.

There's one similarity between Amazon and Blue Origin CEO Jeff Bezos, Apple's Tim Cook, Alphabet's Sundar Pichai, AMD's Lisa Su, General Motors' Mary Barra and NVIDIA's Jensen Huang.

These days, the heads of some of the most successful companies in the world have one thing in common.

They're engineers.

Why So Many CEOs Are Engineers

For those who aspire to be CEO of a company one day, getting an MBA - a Master of Business Administration degree - used to be the way to go. But that's not so true anymore.

Harvard Business Review used to publish an annual list of the top 100 best-performing CEOs.

In 2018, they found that for a second year in a row, there were more CEOs with an engineering degree than an MBA. 34 compared to 32. Some had both. Getting an MBA can come with a hefty price tag. Top graduate schools such as the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton or Harvard Business School will set you back over $200,000. Now, some CEOs are telling you to save your money.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk

Elon Musk went so far as to say, "I think there might be too many MBAs running companies" in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. He thinks those with business degrees spend too much time in board meetings pouring over power points and finances when their focus should be on the product. The thinking being that if the product is good the profits will follow. In the case of Musk that means building great electric cars at Tesla or great reusable rockets at SpaceX. That's where being an engineer is helpful.

Engineers can design, build, create, and improve their product because of their background in math, science, and technology. And they can help solve challenging technical problems that might otherwise scuttle their dreams. Technically, Musk has a degree in physics and economics not engineering. He's a self-taught engineer who read books to learn about rocket science. When engineering consultant Sandy Munro interviewed him for his YouTube channel Munro Live, he said it's Musk's knowledge that stands out. I was blown away. I've seen dozens of CEOs. I've never seen a CEO ever or a president that knew more about the product. That technical know-how that comes with an engineering background goes a long way toward building better products.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella

Just ask Satya Nadella, the engineer at Microsoft who rose to become CEO. When he took over the top job in 2014, he had to figure out a way to make Microsoft relevant as it faced an onslaught from Apple. We now need to make Microsoft thrive. The software company struggled to thrive under the leadership of his predecessor Steve Ballmer. Its products were far from revolutionary. The Surface was a response to the iPad, the Windows phone and answer to the iPhone. Ballmer has a degree in mathematics and economics from Harvard which helped balance the books but didn't do much when it comes to innovation.

When Nadella took over, he transformed Microsoft - moving its software to non-Windows devices. For example, bringing Microsoft Word to the iPad and the iPhone. He also expanded its cloud business Azure which has become the biggest rival to Amazon's AWS. In his first email to employees as CEO, Nadella wrote: "Our industry does not respect tradition - it only respects innovation." That innovative spirit of engineering saved Microsoft. But it's not easy. It requires risky moves and not accepting failure.

James Dyson, the British engineer

As American inventor Thomas Edison famously said: "I have not failed. I've only found 10,000 ways that won't work." James Dyson, the British engineer, knows a thing or two about not giving up. He became frustrated when a vacuum he had at home kept losing suction. So he decided to build a better vacuum himself. He spent 15 years tinkering with over 5,000 different prototypes to come up with the perfect bagless design. The payoff for his perseverance was a multi-billion dollar company that bears his name. In order to be successful, Dyson was invested in the fine details of his company.

Engineers aren't afraid to get involved in the day-to-day business - especially when it comes to hiring. Amazon is notorious for tough interviews. Bezos, who has a degree in electrical engineering and computer science, used to meet every candidate himself during Amazon's early days. He would ask quirky questions like: How many gas stations are there in America? He wasn't after the right answer but wanted to see whether the candidate had an analytical approach in order to come up with an informed response.

Bezos once said setting the bar high for hiring was the most important factor for the online retailer's success. It's no surprise that engineers make it to the top of the tech industry which has seen explosive growth over the years. But they're also doing well at non-tech companies.

Like Jeffrey Sprecher, the CEO of the holding company that owns the New York Stock Exchange. He has a degree in chemical engineering. I've never had a job that had anything to do with chemistry but the discipline that I went through there taught me about problem-solving and business is really just that.

Engineers are very good at solving problems and that's the key to doing everything from building a bridge across a river to designing a rocket to get to Mars. If you've been inspired to become an engineer or simply want to learn more about the world, a good foundation in math and computer science is crucial.

Elon Musk has only been CEO of Twitter for a few days now but he seems to be taking no prisoners.

while reshaping the company many of his ideas like, a subscription for verified users don't sit well with Twitter's user base. Though on top of that musk's behavior in his new role as self-proclaimed Chief twit is becoming increasingly erratic that it is mass killing Twitter instead of rebuilding it.

Is Twitter dying?

Elon Musk asked in April this year just a couple of days before he announced his plans to acquire the platform the question is a legitimate one. The number of so-called heavy tweeters has declined for some time. this group only makes up about 10% of all monthly users but they are responsible for 90% of tweets and half of the global Revenue. Therefore musk's latest plan to charge verified users a monthly fee of 20 US dollars to keep their official status feels a bit like a suicide mission.

Another reason that seems to be driving users away is Elon musk's plan to make Twitter a Haven of free speech. here's why musk considers himself a free speech absolutist in other words users will be able to tweet almost whatever they want without facing consequences.

musk is even considering allowing Donald Trump back on the platform. the former U.S president was banned according to Twitter because of his tweets possibly inciting violent behavior that might have led to the attack on the U.S Capitol.

more freedom sounds good but content moderation is necessary to keep online communities safe. it is a fine line between freedom of speech and enabling hate speech.

under musk's Reign it's already harder for employees at Twitter's trust and safety team to block or penalize hate speech and misleading information. according to a recent study racial slurs have already increased by 500% on the platform since Elon musk's takeover.

musk has said he won't make any major content decisions before convening a Content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints. still especially marginalized groups don't feel safe on Twitter anymore and are looking for Alternatives.

Twitter users migration to Mastodon or Discord

under the hashtag Twitter migration users name the platform's Mastodon or Discord as possible alternatives okay you might say some minorities leaving won't hurt Twitter too much but for musk there are some real issues on the horizon.

for companies, an incident like this might influence their willingness to run ads on Twitter. many experts agree with its CEO acting in erratic and irresponsible ways Twitter's ad Revenue will most probably shrink.

when Twitter started in 2006, it was appealing to many because it offered an opportunity to connect to like-minded people and stay informed in a new very condensed way. the digital Town Square has always had a lot of problems rather than solving them Elon musk's reboot seems to be creating even more problems that's at least what I think.

How to Find Your Friends on Mastodon

Mastodon is the rapidly growing social media platform built around thousands of different servers. The lack of a centralized database can make it difficult to find the friends (and Brands™️) you talk to on other platforms, but it’s not too hard to find them.

Finding Your Friends From Twitter

Mastodon is mostly designed as an alternative to Twitter, so most of the “migration” tools are built around Twitter. The most useful search tool is Debirdify, which scans the profiles of everyone you follow on Twitter for a linked Mastodon account — in the bio, name, somewhere else. It’s an automated method of looking at everyone you follow to find their Mastodon username. Fedifinder is another tool that works similarly.

To get started, open Debirdify in your web browser, and click the “Authorize with Twitter” button. This will allow Debirdify to scan your Follows list with Twitter’s official API.

After that, just click the “Search followed accounts” button. Depending on how many people you follow on Twitter, it should only take a few seconds. The web app will then display a list of every Mastodon account it found, including their name, sorted by the server (“instance”) they are located on. Debirdify also generates some cool graphs based on server data.

You can scroll through the list and follow anyone you want — the easiest way is to copy their username (e.g. example@mastodon.social) and paste it in the search bar of your Mastodon website or mobile app. Then you can just click the follow button.

There’s also a way to follow everyone that Debirdify finds on Mastodon in a few clicks. Click the big “Download CSV Export” button near the bottom of Debirdify — this will save a list of Mastodon accounts in a format that Mastodon can recognize. In your Mastodon website, click the Preferences link, then navigate to Import and Export > Data export. You can also go straight to example.com/settings/import, replacing “example.com” with the domain of your Mastodon server.

Once you’re on the Import page, make sure the dropdown menu is set to “Following list,” and the “Merge” checkbox is checked instead of “Overwrite.” Then click the choose file button and select the CSV file you just downloaded from Debirdify.

After all that, click the Upload button. Your Mastodon server will queue up every account in the list to follow, though it could take a while, depending on how many accounts are in the list and how busy the Mastodon server is at the time.

Finding Your Friends From Other Sites

Unfortunately, there’s not an automated tool like Debirdify for quickly finding people you already know (and Brands™️) on Mastodon for other platforms, like Facebook or Instagram. For the moment, your best option is to go through your list of friends and followed accounts, and check their name and other profile info for a Mastodon link or username. Some people are adding their Mastodon username to the end of their profile name, but that’s less common on sites like Facebook.

Searching for posts about Mastodon from your Facebook friends

You can also try using search filters, depending on what platform you’re on. For example, on Facebook, you can search for “Mastodon” on the search page/tab and narrow down the results to just posts from your friends. That will only work for friends who have posted about it, rather than just adding a link to their profile, but it’s something. You can also make a post linking to your account, and let your friends find you.

Once you know someone’s username, you can copy and paste it into the search bar in your Mastodon interface. If the account is valid and working, it will appear in the search results, and you can just click the follow button.

Paytm | SoftBank Group | One97 Communications

Shares of One97 Communications Ltd, owner of Paytm, recorded a series of block deals on Thursday in which around 29.50 million shares or 4.5 percent stake of the company changed hands, according to Bloomberg. Details of the buyers and sellers, however, were not known.

let's talk about paytm stock. The PayTM stock is under pressure as a pre-ipo investor has sold a large chunk as soon as the lock-in period has ended. There you have it down almost nine percent.

Softbank to sell Paytm shares worth $200 Million.

Japanese conglomerate SoftBank Group is looking to sell shares of Paytm parent One97 Communications worth $200 million through a block deal on Thursday, according to media reports.

BofA Securities is the banker for the deal, and the price range for the sale has been set at Rs 555-601. The lower end of the price band is a 7.7% discount to Wednesday’s close price of Rs 601.45 on the National Stock Exchange.

As of September 30, SoftBank held a 17.45% stake in the fintech firm through SVF India Holdings (Cayman) post the sale on Thursday -- its stake is likely to fall to 12.9%, reports said.

SoftBank had invested $1.6 billion in Paytm and had sold a partial stake worth $220-250 million in the initial public offering last year.

One the largest shareholders of paytm is SoftBank and it is the one which has done a large transaction in fact sources suggests that SoftBank has sold down with this large trade 25 percent of its overall holding in paytm and that leaves it with around 13 stake and sold is around four and a half percent stake at the moment.

so 561 rupees per share is the average price around. About 555 to 561 is the price at which SoftBank has sold down the shares of paytm as soon as the pre-ipo investors lock-in period ended. This is one year after the IPO has ended.

Investments and one important aspect that I gauged is that the stock listed one year back at a 20 billion dollar valuation and now it is at four billion dollar valuation. so the new investors have come in at a huge discount to the IPO price and they may see some value and especially when they are long only fund but most of the investors have said that it's not an investment in the company but on the promoter of the company and his ability for execution is what the new investors have coming for.

simon would use these fabricated identities to carry out his many scams and make quite a lot of the money he would use to fund his lavish lifestyle. so what was this faux billionaire lifestyle of his really like many of us would like to own private jets and supercars, buy designer clothes and have a beautiful model in our arms or at least that's what we tend to associate with incredibly wealthy people and that is exactly the kind of aesthetic simon leviev was quick to appropriate.

Simon leviev would flaunt his luxurious lifestyle on instagram, driving a lamborghini, posing in a private jet and relaxing on a yacht on a beautiful summer day. simon's instagram account was popping off as well the 31 year old had over 258 000 followers and acted like the billionaire he wanted you to think he was and it wasn't just on instagram either simon also joined the popular dating app tinder where he would continue to show off this luxurious lifestyle.

Simon also claimed on his tinder profile that he was a diamond merchant who has traveled the world which does have an element of truth to it he did travel all over the world. you've got to do that when you're wanted in israel, england, denmark, germany, sweden and norway. some of his recent instagram posts show him proudly sitting behind the wheel of a red lamborghini aventador spider or at the back of a chauffeur-driven limo. he also shared photos from private jets having expensive first-class cuisines. it's really not that hard to understand why people might fall for the con.

Simon would routinely post pictures of him enjoying the good life, showing himself, sitting pretty inside several private jets including a g650er with its refined beige leather seats and spacious cabin or flying in a private bell 206b jet, ranger 3 helicopter. he's also shown pictures of himself driving a bentley continental gt and a ferrari 458 spider or in the back seat of a rolls royce.

All this apparent wealth has led people to estimate his net worth to be somewhere between 1 million dollars to 5 million. simon is certainly not the son of any billionaires but he's got to be paying for all this somehow he is constantly seen posing in designer clothes on his social media posts. he's clearly spending extravagant amounts of money on luxury hotels and first class travel around the world partying and having the time of his life not only that he's not humble about it either simon doesn't just enjoy the more luxurious things in life. he enjoys bragging about it too after posting pictures of himself dressed in designer clothes from brands like fendi and gucci. he'll be sure to let you know that not only is he eating at incredibly expensive and exclusive restaurants. he's gonna be feeding that same food to his dog as well.

Simon Leviev went to Prison

In december 2019, simon leviev was sentenced to 15 months in prison after being convicted of fraud theft and forgery his imprisonment was eventually reduced to five months. the apparent reasons behind his early release were his good behavior and the need to reduce the prison population to avoid an outbreak of covet 19. following his release simon was seen pricing a ferrari and posting multiple pictures of himself with a new bentley he's also been spotted hanging out with french montana. he's pretty much back to enjoying the good life along with his model girlfriend kate conlon.

Simon leviev has managed to continue his luxurious lifestyle with sheer amount of money he has made swindling different women around the world.
One of these women was london-based norwegian cecilia fjelhai. they had initially met on tinder for months she believed simon and her were in a relationship. she knew him as incredibly wealthy, simon levith son of an israeli billionaire and simon played the role very well. After a few months of their whirlwind romance simon would pull a fast one on her and pretend like his life was in danger and he needed her help. Cecilia would eventually take out loans from ten banks and end up with two hundred thousand dollars in debt and she would never see any of that money ever again. that was just one of simon's many victims.

along with cecilia he would also scam purnila huelholm and eileen charlotte leaving them financially ruined and forced to start a gofundme campaign to recoup some of their losses from the swindle.

Adoption of a Fake Name

If it was that easy to pass yourself off as a fake billionaire, i think there would be a lot more simons running around. well for starters he pretended to be a leviath the son of a billionaire russian israeli diamond magnet lev leviev. hence the name change when asked about his fraudulent adoption of a fake name and identity, he said that he had the right to call himself whatever he wants but he's not fooling anyone. lev leviev is a businessman philanthropist and investor worth about 1.5 billion dollars. big surprise he picked that last name lev even made a statement calling out simon making it clear that he is in no way affiliated with the leviah family and reporting him to the police and made it abundantly clear simon is simply a con man.

Simon would continue to use his false identity to trick women on tinder, convince them he was a wealthy heir working in the perilous diamond trade and started long-distance relationships well that is before tinder banned him.

How did Simon leviev pull off con?

So how on earth did simon manage to pull off such a successful swindle.
After the release of the netflix documentary, it's going to be quite a bit harder to convince anyone these days but back then simon would pull out all the stops to make his story seem credible.

He hired employees like his faithful bodyguard and got his friends to help him by pretending to be business associates. simon would also use the money he had defrauded from other women to dazzle his latest mark with gifts and luxury trips. after all you have to be making some amount of money to sweep people off their feet as simon did chauffeur-driven limo dates and trips on private jets were his openers, his closers were a lot more nefarious.

after dating his mark for a while simon would send videos of his bodyguard bleeding and claim that his enemies were after his life. if not for his trusty brick house of a bodyguard that is all simon needed to ensure his safety was some financial support. Big surprise.. surely a billionaire's son wouldn't be strapped for cash but of course simon would explain all that away he would tell his mark that he needed to use a credit card in someone else's name so he couldn't be monitored to throw his enemies off his scent. these unfortunate women sent credit cards took out loans and lines of credit and even flew suitcases of cash to him.

obviously with the assurance he would pay them back he's supposed to be a billionaire after all he was the prince of diamonds. he flew private everywhere slept in the most opulent hotels and always dressed in designer clothes unfortunately for them it was all an elaborate scam simon never actually did repay them giving them rejected checks, bogus fake watches and bank transactions that never went through.

Simon Leviev was a scammer after all and he's had years to hone his craft now that simon's swindling business has been exposed.He is trying in different areas like coaching, bussiness adviser , acting career.

There are only 3 ways of starting Plyamorous Relationship or poly relationship.

You are single at this time. you haven't yet got into a relationship and you're looking to get into one that has these rules and this is easier to do but tend to be scarier before we deal with it.

Monogamous vs Polyamorous

I often tell people if you have two pets would you be happier. do you just love them both equally? what about if you have two children? most of us are polyamorous. That isn't to say that there aren't people in the world that want to be monogamous and if you do want to be monogamous then you should be monogamous and find a partner that wants to be monogamous and have a wonderful monogamous life and I wish that for you because there is nothing wrong with identifying the relationship you want and going for it.

How to start polyamorous Relationship

1. Open relationship into Poly Relationship

you're in a relationship that is currently open where you have multiple partners and you want to bring somebody else in. It seems to be the one that most people want to do.

First thing to do is if you're in a open relationship, it's very simple to just talk to your partner about idea of poly relationship. what you want and how you define poly relationship. it will be easy since you are already with someone who believe in open relationship.

Just say to them that i want to be polyamorous and then you talk about meeting other people and again through communication.

2. Start new Poly Relationship

You are single and if you want polyamory, if you want to be able have multiple partners just start by stating that you are polyamorous and just get into a relationship. you don't have to get into a relationship where it's agreed that you guys are gonna have multiple partners. you just need to get into relationship and explain that you're polyamorous then your partner will say when you start dating what does that mean and you know it means that right now we're dating and I'm polyamorous.

Then they can ask to you ,does this mean you're gonna see other people? and you say at some point I might and you're welcome to as well. in this situation at no point were they confused about what was going on. they saw clearly what happened. they can break up with you at that point and say you know what this isn't why one they can have that conversation with you be open to the conversation with them rather than saying this is the relationship I want just stay this is who I am and then move forward with your relationships as normal.

There's no need to set rules or boundaries on relationship and one of the problems in life is that often people will identify themselves as their relationship rules. In fact it gets so bad that some people only identify themselves in in a connection to their partner. so they might go up to somebody to say oh yeah I'm this person's husband or I'm this person's wife as if you don't have an identity of your own.

The only time this gets difficult is if two people meet each other under the guise of being monogamous and they set up a monogamous relationship and now they want to open it essentially. They're taking the foundation of everything their relationship was built on and hitting it with a sledgehammer until it is complete gravel and then trying to build something new. it can be done but you have to build it from the foundation of the relationship you have to go back to what the relationship means and start again.

There are many ways of dipping your toe into the water of polyamory from a relationship.The way I would strongly suggest you do it is with your partner's consent and by going through some hypothetical scenarios together when no one does anything.

So for example, maybe late at night talk about it and describe what it would look like and at each point have your partner describe at what point are uncomfortable, maybe they're only comfortable if you're going to coffee with people, so go to coffee with people be willing to have to lose those people and get rid of them and find somebody new.

That's part of it until your partner has found what they are comfort with and what they're not comfortable with. they might want you to have an intimate relationship only with them but you can have a loving caring friend relationship with somebody else they might want you only to have a physically intimate relationship with somebody else but no emotional connection either way discuss it and find out.

Idea here is to breaking down step by step what is okay and isn't okay. it's going to be a lot easier if your partner accept this change in the relationship.

In most relationships communication is the key to success when you add more people, you need more communication you absolutely have to have that you need more people talking because that's what makes this better. so everybody needs to describe what they need and what they want to be happy. once you've ascertained what everybody needs then it's simply a goal of working out how you're gonna get into the relationship in the first place.

final part about multiple relationships remember that you only have seven days in a week and the key to successful multiple relationships is to divide those days up they don't have to be divided equally but you have to stick to the structure so if you give somebody say Monday and Thursday every single week they have Monday and Thursday. if you suddenly claim them back because you want to give them to somebody new that causes problems because once again the foundation is every Monday and Thursday is yours and then when we claw them back, we're pulling away the foundation of the relationship.

so your goal is to maintain consistency because human beings if nothing else love consistency. we want to know the rules, we'll know the boundaries, we want to be able to follow them and stick to them. so if you want to have a successful relationship with multiple people find your rules, find your boundaries and stick to them like glue and as long as you do that and add some great communication, you actually gonna have successful poly relationship.

In this blog I'm going to talk about 8 things that I think people should know about polyamory.
My intent with this blog is to explain to people who are either unfamiliar with polyamory or have perhaps limited exposure, limited understanding about polyamory, and/or anyone who is familiar with polyamory but maybe wants a blog, a resource to be able to send to friends and loved ones if they start asking questions about polyamory.

There are some common concepts that often come up in early discussions about polyamory that I thought maybe this might help clarify.

So what is polyamory?

Well, the easiest and quickest way to define it would be having or being open to having more than one committed romantic relationship at the same time. It has to be with the full consent and knowledge of everyone involved.

"Polyamory is just an excuse to cheat"

So if you are cheating on your partner, you're going behind their back, you are being deceptive, that isn't polyamory. I would say this is the number-one misconception about polyamory, that it's just an excuse to cheat. But if everyone, again, is happy with the situation, then how is it cheating?

Polyamory vs. open relationship

There are a few other concepts that get conflated with polyamory as well. One of those is "open relationship." Now polyamory can sometimes be a manifestation of an open relationship, but let's talk about what an open relationship is in order to distinguish the difference.

So an open relationship, this phrase, it describes a specific relationship, right? So you might have two people in a relationship, or three people or more, and those people are engaging in an open relationship. And what that means is that one or more of the people involved is free to go seek out additional romantic or sexual relationships. If you think about a relationship being a building, a home perhaps, and there being a front door, in open relationships that front door is open. People can come and go from the actual relationship itself.

If a relationship is closed, you know, you close that front door, no new additional people can enter that relationship. So neither person involved, or none of the people involved, are going to seek out or be receptive to additional romantic or sexual connections. A closed relationship can happen in polyamory.

So this is why open relationship and polyamory aren't always the same thing and don't always go hand-in-hand. A closed relationship in polyamory could easily look like three people being in a relationship together or more than three, but we'll say three and those three people are polyamorous because there's more than two people involved in that relationship. But, for the sake of this example, that relationships is nevertheless closed because those three people have made a commitment to that relationship between the three of them and all of them have agreed not to pursue or be receptive to any other romantic or sexual connections.

Polyamory vs. swinging

Another concept that's frequently conflated with polyamory is swinging.

So, swinging is when you have a--usually a couple, but any relationship, where the relationship is open, and specifically it's open to playing with additional physical intimacy, you know, seeking out other sexual partners. It's not where you seek out additional romantic partners.

Versus, you know, playing with people outside of the relationship in a sexual capacity or other physical capacity. That, specifically, is swinging. And while polyamory can involve having physical intimacy with people outside of any given relationship, it isn't just about physical intimacy, whereas swinging typically is. I'm going to talk a little bit more about that later in this blog.

Polyamory vs. polygamy

The one term that I want to cover that gets conflated with polyamory is polygamy. A lot of people are familiar with the term or the concept of polygamy because there are religions or religious sects that practice polygamy, and that's most commonly where it's found, is in religions.

And usually it means there's one man and he has multiple wives. An argument could certainly be made that polygamy is a form of polyamory, and I wouldn't really disagree with that. But if you meet someone and the say they're polyamorous, that in no way suggests that they are polygamous.

Polyamory is for anyone, any type of person.

The next thing that I want to convey about polyamory is that polyamory is for anyone. And that might be obvious, but I say that because of course, like with anything else, there are stereotypes and common things that people associate with polyamory that may or may not be applicable to any given polyamorous person.

You can practice polyamory if you're straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, or any other orientation. You can practice polyamory no matter what your background is, no matter what kind of family you come from, no matter what your political leanings might be.

I know that there's certainly the assumption that people who practice polyamory, given it's not a mainstream practice, would be left-leaning. And it certainly is true that most people that I've personally met in polyamory are left-leaning, if not very far left-leaning. However, I have also met people who lean just a little bit right of center or who are quite far on the right-hand side of things. And, of course, anything in-between.

The point being, if you learn that someone is polyamorous, you haven't necessarily learned much else about them other than the fact that they are polyamorous. I don't think it's safe to assume where they fall on the political spectrum, or what kind of background they have or what their interests are, or their religion. There's a lot of tongue-in-cheek joking within the polyamorous community about the bisexual, kinky, polyamorous, pagan, gamer. And that's because it is common to find this sort of constellation of traits in a given person within polyamory. But there are plenty of people who fall well outside any one of those traits.

Polyamory isn’t innately about physical gratification.

The third thing is that polyamory isn't innately about physical gratification. This is an extremely common misconception about polyamory, that anyone who would engage in polyamory is really only looking to sate some sort of sexual appetite. That can certainly happen, don't get me wrong; I've met plenty of people who are primarily in it for that. But there are many, many others who aren't.

Polyamory is differentiated from swinging, as I mentioned before, by the fact that it is mostly focused on developing deep and meaningful romantic relationships, not just dalliances. Not that there's anything wrong with that between consenting adults, but it is important to understand that just because someone might tell you they're polyamorous doesn't mean that they're extremely active sexually, that they're always looking for new physical intimacy partners, or that that's why they became polyamorous. It's not really safe to assume any of these things. Frankly about anyone, but certainly not because they've shared with you what their relationship structure is.

Asexual and celibate people can practice polyamory, too.

That includes understanding that asexual people and celibate people exist and do have romantic relationships, and because they can and do have romantic relationships, some of those romantic relationships could easily be polyamorous. Asexual people and celibate people practice polyamory.

Now, if you're wondering how you can have a romantic relationship without sexual activity, that's a little bit beyond the scope of this video and I can certainly make a video on that at some point, but in short, just think for a moment about any romantic relationship that you might've had over the course of your life. Is there anything other than sexuality that differentiates those relationships from your friends? Maybe for you there really isn't, and that's fine.

But for many, many people, including people who are sexually active, the sexual component of a romantic relationship isn't the one and only thing that makes it romantic. So yes, don't assume anything about a polyamorous person just because they are polyamorous. Get to know them as an individual just as you would anyone else.

Just because someone is polyamorous doesn’t mean they’re available.

Just because someone is polyamorous doesn't mean they're available. Much like "open relationship" and polyamory aren't the same thing, any given individual being open to new relationships, new romantic or sexual connections, is not the same thing as being polyamorous.

Maybe you are, at any given moment, what people call "polysaturated," which means that you have the maximum number of partners that you can personally pay attention to, nourish, really reasonably grow and attend to at that point in your life. And of course, that number is different for everyone. Some people are saturated at one partner and that is more or less why they are functionally monogamous even if they're in theory okay with polyamory I think I kind of fall into that category. Other people polysaturate at two partners or three, and it often depends on how much involvement is involved in each relationship.

Of course, a polyamorous person may not be available for dating and new relationships for any number of reasons. Maybe they just don't feel like going through all of that right now. Perhaps their job is really demanding right now, or they know they're about to move out of state in the next six months and they don't really want to do short-term. There're so many reasons why someone might not be available.

No two polyamorous situations are the same.

This one might be obvious, but I still feel that it's worth mentioning. Which is that no two polyamorous situations are the same. Maybe at some point you've run into someone who's polyamorous, you've gotten to know them, and their polyamory looks a particular way. And then you walk away from that conversation thinking, "Okay, that's how polyamory works." I would discourage you from doing that though because polyamory works however the people involved decide that it's going to work. And maybe one set of polyamorous people, it's extremely dysfunctional and they're miserable, and they don't talk to each other with much kindness, and then the next set of polyamorous people that you meet are are in a flourishing situation, everyone is pursuing their dreams and has healthy relationships.

Clearly, it can go many different directions. As well as the structure itself. Maybe one set of polyamorous people is in a closed triad like I've mentioned, and maybe another one is sort of this loosely-connected network of relationship anarchists. This is also where I want to point out that no matter how many polyamorous people you've met, if most of them or all of them have been miserable, or most of them or all of them have been very happy, that in no way suggests that polyamory is innately responsible for making people miserable or happy.

After all, if you've known many monogamous couples who are miserable or who went through horrible, abusive breakups, I assume you probably don't blame monogamy for that because they were monogamous. And similarly, I would encourage you not to automatically blame polyamory for whatever dysfunction you might witness in polyamorous people that you might meet. It's possible that polyamory could aggravate issues that people have. Issues in communication, issues in empathy and compassion. But it isn't innately a quality of polyamory that people are going to be dysfunctional.

Just like if you meet some monogamous people who have extremely dysfunctional relationships, presumably you don't blame monogamy. Once again, always think about individual situations on their own. But a little caveat here: It is absolutely true that if you for yourself against your better judgment to engage in polyamory or to engage in monogamy, that decision can lead to unhappiness because you're not listening to yourself and your own needs. But once again, that would happen with any decision that isn't listening to your own needs. Anything that you're doing purely because you've been pressured into it and not because it's something that you want that does stand a high chance of leading to unhappiness no matter what kind of thing we're talking about.

Polyamory often involves sacrifice.

The next one is that polyamory often involves sacrifice. It's common to hear polyamorous people say that the potential for love is infinite but time and energy are not. And it's said frequently because it's extremely relevant to polyamory.

Fundamentally, time and energy are finite resources and you have to decide how you want to allocate those. Maybe you have a full life and you have a partner that you're really happy with, you have hobbies and interests that light you up, friends that you adore, and a job that is fulfilling, and you know, pretty much every day you wake up and you have plenty to do from dawn to dusk. And then you decide you want to practice polyamory. Well, I would ask you:

Where are you going to get the time and energy that you're going to pour into these new relationships? I certainly don't say that to discourage anyone, but I do think it's a very, very important consideration before delving into polyamory.

Or even if you have already been polyamorous, I think it's important to consider before delving into a new relationship.

Are that time and energy going to come from your job?

Are you going to cut back hours?

Are you going to engage in your hobbies and interests less?

Are you going to engage in self-care a little less, like you're not going to work out as much, you won't meditate as much, maybe you don't go to church as many days of the week as you have been, maybe you're not going to see your friends as often.

Any one of these decisions is entirely up to you, but often when people are face with the reality of making so much space in their life for a new person, they realize that something has to give and they don't necessarily want to give up any of the things that are already in their life. It can be a bit of a conundrum. So I would encourage you to really consider this and reflect on it when deciding whether to engage in polyamory and/or when deciding whether to add another partner to your life.

Jealousy and compersion are common, but neither is ubiquitous.

Jealousy and compersion are both common in polyamory, but neither is ubiquitous. So, the first question most people ask polyamorous people when they learn that they're polyamorous is, "Don't you get jealous?" or, "What about jealousy?" And personally, I think that question isn't really the important question. I think it's more important to consider what emotional turmoil might come up for a person, whether it's jealousy or something completely different. And specifically, how does that person and how do the people involved navigate that emotional turmoil?

That's really the more important question. But I do think that most people ask polyamorous people about jealousy mostly out of curiosity, because perhaps for them the thought of polyamory makes them automatically jealous at the thought of their partner being with someone else. So it's natural that they would then want to hear some insights from someone else on whether they even feel jealous and if they do, how they manage it. Jealousy isn't universal.

Not everyone who practices polyamory feels jealous or is inclined toward jealousy. Typically these people also aren't terribly jealous in other areas of their life either. They don't typically get very professionally jealous, they don't typically get possessive of their friends. Things like that. However, jealousy is common within polyamory because it's common within human beings. And if you've ever been kind of jealous that your friend seems to be spending more time with their new friend that they met at work than they're spending with you, then there ya go. That is the kind of jealousy that might come up in polyamory very, very easily. But any given individual is different from the next, so really it's not a question of whether polyamorous people get jealous, but maybe that person does or doesn't.

Similarly, compersion is common but not universal. And compersion, for those who don't know what that is, is basically just feeling happy feelings when you are aware of or you witness your partner being happy with someone else or interacting with someone else. Specifically a romantic partner. So if I see my partner holding the hand of their other partner and I feel warm and fuzzy inside when I see it, that's compersion. The thing about compersion is it's really not required to be happy in polyamory.

Compersion can make thing a little easier depending on the situation, but it's also perfectly fine to actually not really be able to feel compersion or not be inclined to feel it. You can feel just sort of neutral about your partner's other relationships. Maybe you're, you know, you're happy that they're happy but you don't necessarily get a bunch of butterflies and happy feelings when you see them together. You're just fine with it, and that's really as far as it goes. That's okay. It doesn't all need to be sparkles and fireworks 24/7. I want to make it super clear that if you don't experience compersion but you wish you did, just know there's nothing wrong with you. You're not failing at polyamory. You're not lacking something. It's just fine. It's fine if you don't experience it. Don't beat yourself up.

Polyamory is neither more nor less enlightened than monogamy.

Finally, polyamory is neither more nor less enlightened than monogamy. It is extremely common to hear people kind of admire polyamorous people like, "Wow, you've risen above all these petty human jealousies!" "Humans are meant to be polyamorous." "Wow, that's so amazing." And that's very kind, but I respectfully disagree. I think that polyamory is just a way to structure your relationships. It's not a path to enlightenment or awakening. It's just, yeah, it's just a way to structure your relationships. It's not loftier than monogamy, nor is it beneath monogamy.

It's just a choice that you might make for yourself and for your life. After all, this is why on my blog I'm always encouraging people to just reflect on questions, consider concepts, to come to their own conclusions about what they want for themselves and for their relationships. I am not invested in you or anyone else being polyamorous.

I want you and everyone to just find what makes you feel fulfilled. What ignites your soul. What makes you feel like you can look back on your life and see a life well-lived. If polyamory is part of that, okay. If monogamy is part of that, okay. These are just choices. They're not more or less enlightened than anything else you might do in your life that involves structuring your life a particular way.

1. You have always felt limited

The first sign is that you have always felt limited and confined in conventional relationships. It's not the person you're with that's making you feel confined, it's the situation. Have you ever felt like you're no longer acting as an individual but always thinking about being faithful to your partner and you can't help but think; does this come from a place of love, freedom and security or does it come from a place of ownership, jealousy and fear?

2. You learn through others

Sign number two is that you learn so much about yourself through others. Relationships are fun, yes, but they're also incredible opportunities to learn and explore different aspects of yourself. Each person is a universe and both negative and positive experiences that we venture in with them are a journey to learning and growing individually as a person. If you are limited to only one relationship, there may be aspects of yourself you are neglecting.

Sign number three is that you are the kind of person who feels energized by other people. Does diving into experience with people outside of your primary relationship, nurture, energize and refresh you? Do you feel energized and refreshed after you have an innocent yet perhaps a little flirtatious coffee with someone from the opposite sex whilst in a relationship? This does not have to imply any physical engagement; an innocent lunch date is enough. Sign four is that you like to constantly challenge yourself in order to grow. The most common reason for people rejecting an open relationship is jealousy. They would rather not deal with the intensity of jealous feelings they would get with the very imagination of their partner engaging with someone else. But what if polyamory will teach you to be less jealous and to love with complete freedom, would this not be like taking an entire weight off of your shoulders? This experience, while still being a very difficult one will teach you to love someone. Fear, jealousy and possession are not things that come from a place of love. Consider it a love boot camp.

Sign number five is that communication and honesty are very important things for you. You can't stand lying about anything and let's be honest, most people feel safer not admitting to their partners that they may be interested in or attracted to someone else. They may also not feel safe about telling their partner about certain friendships for fear of jealousy. You are the kind of person who would rather be open about these difficult topics and feel safe in approaching them with your partner. You think it's best and healthier to tackle the situation and finding a compromise that makes you both happy. If there is something forbidden to us, we will only want it more. If we feel free to be with somebody else, then the initial excitement of that forbidden fruit is gone.

Sign number six is that you don't like living life by society's rules and tend to question everything. You are not one to follow social constructs of what should and should not be. You don't think that seeing someone else could possibly take away from your love and devotion to your partner. If anything, it might even strengthen your appreciation for them. If the connection you have is authentic, then it is really hard for that to just go away with the introduction of someone new. Sometimes we just enjoy someone new in our lives but that does not mean we want them to ever replace our partner. polyamorous relationship means trust.

8. You can love more than one person

And finally, sign number eight is that you are aware that we can love more than one person and feel attracted to more than one person. If we learn to accept that one person cannot fulfill every desire that we have, then we will immediately resent our partner less and appreciate them more. If we decide to allow ourselves and our partners to fulfill things we can't through someone else, we are making them happy and that my friend is love.

Polyamorous - The 4 Types of Polyamorous Relationship

Are you a polyamorous? or are you in a polyamorous relationship?

Polyamorous people have multiple loving, intentional, and intimate relationships at the same time.
Today I'm going to be talking about the four major types of polyamorous relationship or Poly relationship.

So, first I have a little disclaimer because I'm going to make a lot of generalizations in this blog. If I didn't, this would probably turn into a documentary and that's not why any of us are here so I'm going to keep it brief.

There's a lot of overlap between the four different polyamorous relationship types that I plan to discuss. Suffice it to say, everyone who practices poly relationship or polyamorous relationship, does it in their own way, their interpersonal connections are going to be as unique as the people in them. That said, I decided to narrow everything down to,

Four major polyamorous relationship types

1. 'Primary partner plus others' approach
2. 'Group approach'
3. 'Egalitarian network' approach
4. 'solo' approach.

1. Primary partner plus others - polyamorous relationship type

In the primary partner plus others type, you are in one main relationship and then you have other connections beyond that central relationship.

For example, Let's say that Olivia and Kanna are married. They're primary partners. They own a house together. When holidays roll around, it's just a given that they're going to spend them together, most likely with their families of origin. Olivia and Kanna probably link to each other on social media, and it's just a given that, of course, they would link to each other and not their other partners, because they're primaries. And, of course, if one of them took a job in another location they would just move together. There's not really any question about that. Olivia and Kanna have built a life together 'their lives are entwined' and they don't have any plans or any intention of ever doing that with anyone else.

In this example, Olivia's also dating Rosa. And they really like each other. They might even be on the path to falling in love. Every week they go on a date together. That day is set aside just for them and they have so much fun. They're happy with where their relationship is, and it's not just that, it's kind of by design. Olivia and Kanna are primary partners, so Olivia and Rosa don't do those primary partner things. They don't automatically spend their family holidays together. They wouldn't automatically move together if someone took a job in another location. That doesn't mean they don't care about each other, it's just a different kind of relationship.

In this example, Kanna also has a girlfriend named Eva. They've been together for three years, they are totally in love, they're so cute together, everyone sees them lasting for the long haul. But they're still not primary partners. They aren't getting married either. They're not gonna live together. They're not gonna have kids together. They're not gonna do any of the things that Olivia and Kanna have committed to doing with each other.

2. Group approach in polyamorous relationship types

In the group approach, a person might be engaged in a relationship with multiple people in the same relationship.

for example, Olivia and Kanna might be in a relationship together with Rosa. Now, to be clear, in this example, there are actually four relationships within this triad. the relationship between each individual person with each other individual person, as well as the group dynamic or the group relationship. A lot of the time, when people hear the word, "polyamory" they think of these group relationships. Personally, I've actually never had or pursued a relationship like this, but they definitely happen.

3. Egalitarian network approach in polyamorous relationship types

In the egalitarian network approach, No one relationship is centered as the main relationship in a person's life. That doesn't mean that none of the relationships reach the same level of commitment and involvement as, say, like a primary partnership, because they definitely do. It just means that no one relationship is considered the "main" one. The best way I've found to describe this kind of polyamory to people who aren't familiar with it is to compare it to platonic friendship.

Most likely, even if you have one or two really close friendships already, you're able to go out and meet new people and develop really close, long-term friendships with those new people as well. The fact that there are pre-existing close friendships doesn't preclude that with new people.

So, for people who approach polyamory in this egalitarian network way approach romantic relationships no differently than the way I just described platonic friendship. So, you could have an entire life built with someone and that doesn't mean that you can't also have that with someone else.

Using the people from our examples, Olivia and Kanna are in a long-term, serious relationship. Then Olivia is also in a long-term, serious relationship with Rosa. And then Kanna is in a long-term, serious relationship with Eva. Maybe Eva is in long-term, serious relationships with other people as well, and so on. Now, that doesn't mean that every single relationship in a network of relationships is exactly the same and has the exact same level of intimacy and commitment. That never happens. But it does mean that any relationship you have could reach that level, if you guys decide that that's what you want.

This is actually the approach to polyamory that I take and I've often said that it wouldn't make sense for me to say that I'm in "a" polyamorous relationship, because I don't have one central relationship that determines whether or not I am polyamorous. I'm the one who has decided that I am going to approach relationships polyamorously, and I find partners who feel the same way about themselves. Every single person in my network of romantic relationships has chosen polyamory for themselves.

In this approach, it's really not uncommon to find people building their lives with multiple people. So this could look a lot of different ways. It could look like a multi-adult household with an entire polyamorous network living in one house. It could look like an individual deciding with their partners that they want to build a life with each of their partners, but none of their partners want to live with each other, so they end up building a home with multiple different people. Obviously, these various approaches aren't for everyone, which is why there are so many different ways to approach polyamory.

4. Solo approach in polyamorous relationship types

The last approach I'm going to talk about is the solo approach. And on the surface, it looks a lot like the egalitarian network approach, specifically in the sense that each individual person decides how to engage in their relationships with other people and no one central relationship determines the shape of other relationships.

That said, most people who practice solo polyamory approach it from the angle of never coupling up. So, they don't couple up with one central relationship like in a primary relationship or in one central group relationship but neither do they couple up with many different people. They are in relationships, but they maintain the identity of a solo individual.

That may mean that they actively identify as single even if they're in multiple romantic relationships, or it might just mean that the way they structure their lives and the way they approach talking about their lives is more centered on the individual rather than centering couplehood or family. Most people who practice solo polyamory choose to never marry--legally or otherwise-- and they never choose to live with anyone. This is actually becoming pretty common even with monogamy and can sometimes be called "living apart together."

Again, I really can't emphasize enough that I've way oversimplified all of these approaches, being polyamorous and polyamory in general. All people are complex, all relationships are complex, and in reality, most people end up with a combination of these different approaches in their lives. And frankly, people grow, people change, people get older, The way they approach relationships of any kind, polyamorous or monogamous, can change over time as well.

I've chosen the egalitarian network approach for myself because one of the best parts of relationships for me is building a life with other people and building a home together but that's definitely not true for everyone. There are some people who find that whole process exhausting and really unappealing whether it's with one people or multiple people, they just don't want any part of it.

And that's fine!

There are ways to approach relationships that are as diverse as the people involved in them. The best approach to relationships, whether they're polyamorous or monogamous, is the approach that leads to the well-being and happiness of everyone involved. That's never going to be the same across any set of people.

If so you are in the right place, as today I'm going to share five tips with you, that you can follow to increase your LinkedIn connections.

Today we're going to talk about connections on LinkedIn, how they differ from followers and what you can do to get more connections on your account. Make sure you read this blog until the very end, because i will show you how to get 500 Linkedin connections fast in 2022.

Some people believe that you should only accept connection requests from people you've met in person. Now I disagree with that. Let's think about this, why are you on LinkedIn? If you still see LinkedIn as a place where you just put up your CV and forget about it, then by all means just connect to people you know personally.

However, if you are on LinkedIn to get more leads, grow your business, or to land that dream role of yours, you need to be as connected as possible. It's just that straightforward. The more first degree connections you will have, and these end up people already in your network, the more second degree connections you will have access to, and these are the people your connections are connected with.

In just a moment, I'm going to share five Tips with you, that you can follow to increase LinkedIn connections.

How to get 500 LinkedIn connections fast

let's dive into the five strategies you can follow to get 500 LinkedIn connections fast on your profile.

1. LinkedIn search

LinkedIn has very strong search capabilities, that not many people are deploying to the fullest. So let's say your target market is the CEOs. What you should do now is go to LinkedIn search and type in CEOs in the search bar. This brings up 8.7 million profiles that are already have a keyword, a CEO, somewhere in them. You can refine the search even further by selecting the locations that are relevant to you and pick the industry that you want these people to be in. Another awesome trick that not many people know about, is that you can do multiple keyword searches at the same time.

There are two binding keywords I need you to remember, and these are AND and OR. Let's say I want it to find all CEOs, directors, and founders on LinkedIn. In that case, I would structure my search like this. LinkedIn will bring back all people who are either CEOs or directors or founders. And this has gotten us 42 million results. This works the other way around as well. Let's say, I want you to find all CEOs who are also hiring. In this case, I would structure my keywords to be ceo AND hiring, and LinkedIn would bring back all the people who have both of these keywords somewhere in their profile.

Now, the only thing I want to remind you, is that you want to connect to people who are active on LinkedIn. There is honestly no point connecting with someone, who only logs in once a year. So what you want to do, is go to their activity section and check out if they have shared their own content lately, or they have been engaging with other people's posts.

2. Hashtags and Conversations

Another awesome way to connect with people in your industry, is by using hashtags that are relevant to your field. If you don't want to know how hashtags the LinkedIn work or how to find the best hashtags for your niche, definitely check out my video on hashtags after this one. Assuming that you are very familiar with hashtags in your field, I want you to go ahead and search for them in the search bar and find posts that are generating a lot of conversation.

Now, I want you to pay close attention to the comments section and engage with people who are commenting. Reference their point of view, share your opinion and ask the question. Whenever you do this, that person will receive a notification, that you have left to comment for them. And they will definitely want to get back to you or at least check out your profile. From here, you should send out a connection request saying that you really enjoyed the perspective they were sharing, and that you would love to stay connected with people, sharing cool ideas in the field.

Now another thing that works really well, if you reference people who are very well known in your industry, is by taking a look at the likes their posts have gotten. You can identify which people seem interesting here and send them a connection request that go something along the lines of. Hey Carey, I noticed that you're also a fan of Gary Vee. I would really love to stay connected and keep up with your work, because I really enjoyed the tips you shared on X, Y, and Z. They were really cool. Chat soon, Vendy.

3. Groups

Now I'm sure many of you are part of so many different groups on Facebook. What I want you to do is to take the time to find those people on LinkedIn and send them a connection request, saying something like, I noticed that we are both a part of this Facebook group for marketing. I just really wanted to find out, how did you fell into the field? And of course, this doesn't just relate to groups and Facebook, you should absolutely explore the relevant groups on LinkedIn as well, and connect with people, referencing something that they maybe shared in a group ,that you found interesting or something else that you found on your profile.

4. Create Content

Now you've heard me say this before, but if you are serious about growing on LinkedIn, you have to create content. This is how you get discovered by people outside your network. Answer to get more engagement on LinkedIn, is that if I post something and you like or comment on my post, now people in your network will also be able to see my content. So the more first degree connections you have, the more second degree connections will be exposed to your content. I promise that as you start releasing content more consistently, you will see many new connection requests coming your way. And this is because people will appreciate the value you're providing and they just want to see more of it, so they want to stay connected.

So simply put, if you want high quality connections, you have to produce high quality content. This is exactly how you establish yourself as a thought leader in your field. People will start perceiving you as an authority on your subject matter, and they will want to work with you more, because they will see that, you know what you're talking about. So make sure you watch this video to understand how the LinkedIn algorithm works and how you can structure your content for maximum engagement.

5. Connect with people who are engaging with you

Now that you're providing value through your content, make sure you're connecting with people who are liking and commenting on your posts. If people are engaging with your content, it means that they are enjoying what you're producing and you should connect with them and nurture that relationship even further. Another thing you will notice, is that once you start producing content, more and more people will start visiting your profile. Unfortunately, you can only see your profile visits, if you were paying for LinkedIn premium, but if you do have this feature, I want you to be connecting with people who are visiting your profile. Because again, there must have been something that made them want to look you up.

why LinkedIn is important

Why don't we take Walt Disney as an example. Let's say I wanted to work in that company, or I wanted them to buy my product. An amazing thing unique to LinkedIn, is that I can look up people who work in that company. If I'm fairly connected, then I will be able to find the exact people I should be reaching out to. So this could be either HR or Sales, because I can see everyone's roles and I can identify who are the key people I should be talking to, to achieve my outcome. So I can see all these people because I already have a good base of first degree connections.

However, if I wasn't that well connected, the search results would look a lot more unclear, where most people would appear as LinkedIn members and I could see what their roles are, but I would have no idea of knowing their names or connection with them. Unless of course I upgraded to LinkedIn premium, which would give me a bit more visibility. But unless you want to pay for this, you should be as connected in your industry as possible and take it upon yourself, making this happen.

LinkedIn do and don't 2022

You should have known that LinkedIn allows you to have up to 30,000 connections in total, and anyone from that point onwards can only become your follower. Whenever you connect with someone new, you automatically start following them. And what this means is that the content they're sharing is now going to appear in your news feed too. If for some reason you were no longer enjoying the content they were sharing, you could unfollow them. And what this would do is that you would no longer see their content within your newsfeed, but you would still be connected, meaning that you could still send them a direct message.

So following someone means seeing their content and being connected with someone means being able to message them directly. Another thing you should remember is that by default, you can only send out 5,000 connection requests in your lifetime. However, having said that, typically, if you reach out to LinkedIn customer support team, they will grant you another 500 to a 1,000 connection requests per month, as long as you haven't been marked as being a spammer or breached any rules.

Too many newbies send a lot of connection in single day and LinkedIn suspend their account for a couple of hours or days, not allowing you to connect to any more people. So rule of thumb, do not look like a bot and you will be ok. Now that you appreciate how powerful it is to be well connected on LinkedIn.

1. The fake profile pic

The fake profile pic. we all want to look our best in our online photos but did you notice those guys who just look a little bit too good. it's incredibly easy for a guy to go online to grab a photo of some male model or some other you know good looking guy and just upload it as his own profile pic. in lots of cases it's obviously a fake maybe the the height or the weight that the guy is claiming in his profile, they just don't match the picture at all but here's another trick that you can try use my reverse image search trick.

it's really simple you just download the profile pic to your computer and then you go to images.google.com in your web browser and you click the little camera icon you'll have the option to upload that photo and perform a search across the entire internet and you can learn right away who's really in the photo. it'll compare that photo across the internet see if it's in any other places and tell you about it. so you might see that same photo popping up on a lot of different websites under different names and then you know right away that the guy posted a fake picture and he's a scammer.

2. The sudden emergency

Lots of women are hoping to meet mr.right online. well here's something i know about mr.right, he doesn't hit you up for money especially when he doesn't know you that well. now this is actually a pretty common scam in online dating. in fact, i hear it way too often on my coaching calls. so you'll meet a guy who claims to be falling for you really quickly and he'll try to escalate the relationship as fast as he can and then boom a sudden emergency is going to pop up maybe he needs a car repair or he's got some family crisis like a family member in the hospital and while he'll claim to be embarrassed, he'll still ask you for some fast cash now you're a good person and you want to help but don't do it never send money to someone that you don't really know. play the odds and the odds are this is a scam

3. The reverse generosity

Now some online scammers have figured out that you'll be suspicious, if they ask for money too soon so they've created a modified trick that i call reverse generosity. In this scenario, they'll actually send you money or pretend to. here's an example - a woman celia who is swindled out of two hundred thousand dollars by this reverse generosity scam. this is so horrible, celia says scammer told her, he was an israeli millionaire with a nickname the prince of diamonds but he wasn't who he said he was. According to celia their brief romance turned into a real-life nightmare celia alleges simon defrauded her out of 200 000 leaving her spiraling into debt suicidal and fearing for her safety you need to be on the lookout especially if a guy starts giving you gifts and sending you cash early on in a relationship remember money does not equate to trust.

4. The guy who never wants to meet

This con artist is getting harder to spot thanks to quarantines. a lot of dates are happening virtually right now but beware of the guy who always seems to make an excuse for why he can't meet in person or if you're supposed to meet over skype or zoom. he always seems to have technology problems or he can't turn his camera on these are major red flags and there's a very good chance that this guy is not who he claims to be.

if you're having doubts that the guy is legit trust or not, you should meet him in person before you invest too much time and certainly never invest any money

5. The chat mover

most reputable online dating sites have rules for behavior and moderators to hunt down potential scammers. so some guys may suggest that you move your communication to another app or even just email or phone and they'll make that suggestion quickly perhaps claiming that their membership on the dating site is almost expired.
the reality is these scammers are always just two seconds away from getting banned from the dating site itself. so especially early on handle all of your communications through the dating site and if someone seems a little bit too eager to move your conversation somewhere else your alarm bell should be going off.

A bit of Advice

we want to enter our new relationship with an open and trusting heart but early on trust must be earned so as you're out there. you're interacting with different people keep your own safety, your physical, your financial and your emotional safety at the top of your mind.

Trust comes from feeling safe over time and many different experiences. some men are very very good at just pulling at your emotional heart string. so make sure that you know that you're treating yourself in the same way that you would treat the woman that you love most in this world with safety with security and with awareness.

Today we're going to be talking about a stat that i saw on the web. This has kind of been circulating for a while. I've seen this before and that's most women think that 80% of men or more than 80% of men are unattractive.

Okcupid study 80/20

In fact, i'm gonna go into the study right now. so it's actually gets even worse if you look at the data it says some women may be operating on a very different scale. some pictures of men who are fine looking, some might even say cute but the women have rated them as significantly less attractive than the so-called average.

So they're actually saying that 80% of men are unattractive. they're below whatever like medium attractiveness is. Most women are saying this and data taken from okcupid by the way. Right so a lot of men and a lot of people will look at this and say - no wonder all single women are single because you know their expectations are too high.

Why Women find 80% of men unattractive?

I am going to tell you in this blog. You're going to understand why this is happening and my goal for you is to not be like oh.. women suck, they're too picky or whatever.

you're gonna understand why they're making this and why it's not that big of a deal all right As long as you understand what's going on.

Okay so i first discovered this when i was younger when i was like uh you know my early 20s or whatever. i would talk to women about this and that we would play that whole celebrity game where like you pick which celebrities you you'd be down to have sex with or whatever.

So we're doing this game and i would bring up a celebrity like brad pitt or hugh jackman or just someone that's like i know is a really good looking guy and a lot of times like more than half of the female friends that i had that were i was doing this with they would say they wouldn't do it with like a brad pitt or a hugh jackman or something like that.

A lot of them wouldn't and i'd be like are you crazy like these guys like obviously they're an incredibly good looking man why is it you wouldn't be down for that kind of thing and most of the time they would give all these different answers.

Differences between men and women

The reason why a lot of guys get you know angry when they hear certain things like this is because they're not understanding it from a woman's perspective. so i'm gonna kind of talk about the differences between men and women a little bit here okay.

So let's look let's take two environments,

Let's take like you can see this at a female strip club where women are stripping okay this is where guys go. so this is supposed to be appealing to men what are they wearing there, almost nothing lingerie you know bikini whatever the thong they're wearing almost nothing.

Now go to a male strip club where the guys are stripping and if you notice what are they wearing there sometimes you'll see them in like a firefighter's outfit maybe a military outfit, police uniform. they're wearing something to indicate that they have a job a career or something.

They are just some guys who are wearing something to show that they have a job or a career. They're showing something else besides their looks even in those environments women need to know that the man that they're with is doing something.

What Women want?

Women need to know what kind of guy he is and that's a big difference between men and women because when a woman sees a photo online on a dating app like okay cupid, she needs to know what kind of guy he is almost always.

She's going to read his profile almost always. she's going to try and figure it out and sometimes he'll like kind of look like her ex or someone that they've dated in the past that they're attracted to and so they'll kind of fill in the gaps with whatever's in their head which you know isn't very healthy but it happens a lot and so that is called their type.

Their type is this person that they've kind of imbued these characteristics. it could have even been that they they saw this kind of person in a movie and you know now they think they have those characteristics and that's appealing to them. so you know this is this is what's happening when you're their type it works but when you're not they a lot of times women will think that you're unattractive.

Okay and by the way this is not all, even the study says this is most women. so i'm not talking about all of them but i'm saying that this is in the majority of what's happening. you'll see this on dating apps women won't swipe right on many guys but guys will swipe right on a lot more women.

You know even if you're i guess the medium looking woman you're going to get a ton more matches than a guy in the same place. Like several times more more match and the reason why is because sex is not a scarce resource for women. A lot of women when you ask them how many sexual partners would you like to have this next year a lot of them will say one. now not all of them will only have one but that's kind of their preference for men.

for women it's not like that now if you were only gonna have one sexual partner in the year you know you'd be a little bit more careful about who you pick, she start to think if they get into long-term.

They want to know what kind of guy he is. what he does. what it's going to be like to spend time with him and so for that reason if you just show a picture and just bring up somebody that they've only seen in a magazine or something like that, that's why they're going to have those judgments.

20% of men get 80% of women

so what does this tell you why is this important? why am i breaking this down?

I'm doing this so you can understand number one female nature and number two you can understand that when you first walk up to somebody and start talking to them. it's okay if they're not attracted to you right then and there but if you're patient and she sees you again and again sees what kind of guy you are, your chances will go up.

The more she learns about you, the more familiar she gets with you the more time she spends with you, your chances will go up. so a lot of times guys are too tempted oh she's not texting me, and then men quickly give it up.

Okay and it's good to give things up when you're not getting the respect that you deserve but i find that the guys who aren't judging themselves too harshly about initial interactions or initial impressions that are more patient that look at the long game in general, they tend to do a lot better because more women will see what kind of guy they are and if you're that guy you're going to be a lot more successful with women and these studies and these things that you hear online are not going to bother you as much.

How to be attractive

So anyway that's what i was going to say about this i mean like 80%, it sounds really harsh but what they're not looking at is they're not looking at why this is happening or maybe the people are there they're just data nerds and they're not really attempting to break it down but this is my job, this is what i do and you know over time i've learned exactly why this is happening and i think that number's even higher.

It's probably going to be most women think maybe like higher than 80% are unattractive. but if you've ever been around women long enough or you've had enough female friends, you know that even if they say they don't like a guy at first a lot of times they'll end up dating that exact same guy that they said they would never date and it's because they spent time with them, they know what kind of guy he is.

You know it like, you shouldn't just dismiss things right off of first impressions and if people get enough chance your chances will go up.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced massive layoffs

Meta (Facebook) just cut 13% of its workforce, or more than 11,000 employees, marking the first major round of layoffs in the company’s history 🤯 It probably won't be the last one. Let's take a look.

Meta hired more than 27,000 people during the two pandemic years and 15,000 more this year alone. Hence, its headcount is barely back to what it was 10 months ago. Wild! 😳

To get back to 2019 employee levels (before the monetary policy bubble & massive growth in remote work), the social media giant would have to lay off almost half the company.

Given the current trends continue, it seems more like WHEN and not IF. But I honestly hope that I'm wrong here.

Looking at the bigger picture, it’s now clear that the amount of over hiring the Big Tech companies have done in the last 2-3 years is just striking.

Meta has 87,000 employees; the layoffs will affect all teams.

Reason for Meta Layoff

The timing of the investment into the Metaverse has coincided with a number of other factors
Like advertising revenues drop-offs and a few scandals & disputes.

Given the nature of the scandals surrounding Facebook data manipulation, algorithms promoting bad news and Meta knowing social media negatively impacts mental health but doing nothing about it.

But, if there’s a silver-lining to be found in this downturn, it’s a renewed interest in character and a drive towards personal accountability.

Zuckerberg’s admission of guilt for poor decision-making, over-hiring and spending is the first small step in a very long road to recovery for this brand.

First date can be an exciting, anxious, exhilarating and nerve-wracking experience for you and you definitely want to make a great first impression with proper planning.

make sure you take control of planning the date. here's the thing when you're first getting to know each other, you might not know what you want to do, asking her what she wants to do and her asking you what you want to do that is the worst thing that can happen.

it will make you appear indecisive which is a big turn-off for girls. so grab the bull by the horns and you plan the day after you've done a little recognizance through a couple of conversations. whether settled on an activity that you both will enjoy and it will make for easier conversation and with that in mind two things i don't suggest a movie or loud concert.

this is the first time spending time with the young lady. you want it to be quiet enough that you can hear each other talking. so pick a place and environment or an activity that will give you enough distraction that you have something to talk about.

is along those same lines when planning the date, don't be cheap if you can't afford to go somewhere reasonably nice wait to the next paycheck and save up a little bit. i'm not telling you need to go all out on some fancy extravagant dinner but please no penny-pinching and coupons on the first date.

The three-digit score represents how likely a person is to pay his or her bills, and it impacts almost every aspect of an American's financial life. It's like your passport into everything that you need to do as an adult. And it affects so many things, not just access to credit, so your ability to get a credit card, a mortgage, a reasonable car loan. Landlords use credit reports and credit scores, so it'll affect your ability to get an apartment. Insurance companies use them. Having a low or no credit score can have severe financial consequences. 42% of Americans said that their credit scores prevented them from accessing financial products like credit cards or loans.

Life can become more expensive and more difficult as your credit score falls. But some credit experts argue that the current credit reporting and scoring systems have major issues. The current credit scoring system as it stands is flawed. And this error of being fundamentally misaligned has huge ramifications across the system for millions of Americans. Others say many of these criticisms are misguided. The reality is that the credit reporting system that we have here in the United States is sort of like the crown jewel of the world. A lot of the criticisms are based on some fundamental misunderstanding of how credit scores are calculated and how they're used. If you take a moment to not be knee-jerk angry about financial services for a minute, then I think a reasonable person would have to conclude that these are actually good for consumers relative to a world without credit scores and what that would mean to our bottom lines.

So how do credit scores work in America and do they help or hurt consumers? A credit score usually refers to a number between 300 and 850, which represents the holder's financial stability and creditworthiness. The higher the number, the better a consumer looks to potential lenders. Credit scores in the 500s are considered to be very bad. Credit scores in the 600s, we're starting to use terms like subprime, near-prime, getting close to average. But you really need to get yourself into the 700s before you actually hit the national average, which is between 710 and 720. And then start working your way into the elite level scores, which are well into the 700s and certainly into the 800s. Credit scores and reports are two separate things. Reports refer to statements containing information about your credit situation, while scores are calculated based on that information from the report.

The credit report is like the test you took. The credit score is the grade you got on the test. One is influential over the other, but they're not the same thing.

Today, scores calculated by Fair Isaac Corp or FICO have become the industry standard, used by 90% of top lenders. They're calculated using five main categories: 35% from payment history, 30% from the amount owed, 15% from the length of credit history, and 10% for new credit and the types of credit you have. It's based on an analytic algorithm. So we look at actual data patterns to say what helps us predict whether you're going to pay credit in the future. One of the main benefits of having a credit score is that it provides a quick and empirically sound method of measuring creditworthiness. Americans are borrowing today more than ever, with household debt topping $16 trillion during the second quarter of 2022, making credit scores crucial to many businesses.

It allows lenders to make very, very precise decisions and have a very deep understanding of the likelihood of someone paying you back. Experts say that such a streamlined process is also the reason why Americans have been able to enjoy low-interest rates for so many years. The credit scoring system allows the industry to quickly and cheaply make decisions about whether or not you're going to have credit. The cheaper it is for the lender to decide whether or not they're going to give you credit, n the aggregate, the lower the cost is for the lender and hopefully that gets passed along to the consumers in a more efficient system.

Without this system, lenders are going to do what lenders do, which is they're going to mitigate their risk. What that means in practical terms is higher interest rates because that's how lenders mitigate risk - they charge everybody more to subsidize the risk that's posed by everyone. Or more declinations - it's easier to say no to an applicant than to book an applicant who you know is going to default on a loan. Representing a person's creditworthiness using numbers also allegedly helped prevent lending discrimination. Lenders often relied on more subjective methods of evaluation prior to the invention of credit scores. Credit scoring when it was first developed was an advancement. It is better than having some banker sit across from you and judge you and read the information in your credit score because they bring a lot of their subjective analysis and their own life experience into the analysis. And if their life is different than your life, frankly, if it's some white guy sitting across from some woman of color, that analysis can be flawed.

If the information is not on a credit report, it is systemically impossible for your credit score to be influenced by it. What is not on your credit report? Things like your gender, your sexual orientation, your politics, your level of education, how much money you make, the socioeconomic makeup of your neighborhood, your level of education. So we're able to assess credit risk looking only at the past behavior that is on the credit report and only to the extent that it predicts future credit risk. Yet, despite its good intentions, experts say that the credit scoring system still suffers from discrimination.

A survey of 5,000 US adults found that more than half of black Americans reported having a low or no credit score, compared to 41% for Hispanics, 37% for whites, and 18% for Asian Americans. Credit scores are based on past performance. So you're going backward in history to make a judgment about the future. The further we go backward in history, the deeper the structural racism in the United States was. Intentional Racism that happened decades ago gets baked into the cake, into the system, into the institutions and policies of our society. And that kind of structural racism requires no animus and no intent, but it still hurts black and brown consumers.

If your parent put your name on a bill because they had bad credit and then they were delinquent, you can turn 18 and inherit derogatory information on your credit report through nothing that you did. If you're a new immigrant in this country, your prior credit history doesn't travel with you. These credit bureaus are mostly domestic, so you show up with nothing. And by the way, a blank slate is a bad place to be in credit scoring. It means that you're un-scored and your information starts off low and poor. 19% of American adults have no credit history or are considered unscorable by existing systems. Sadly, what the scores do is they sort of amplify those inequalities because they go in and they say, 'Okay, you're already disadvantaged. Now you can be doubly disadvantaged' because the score then sort of objectifies that you are somehow not worthy of being given a chance, that you are somehow deserving of much higher fines and fees than everyone else. Errors in credit reports can also often lead to miscalculated scores.

A survey in 2021 found that more than a third of those polled found errors in their credit reports. Of more than 700,000 credit or consumer reporting complaints received in 2021, more than half pertain to incorrect information on their report. For me, it was a different person named Aaron Klein who didn't pay their cell phone bill in New Jersey. I also happen to live in New Jersey for graduate school, and this stuck with me for a year. One in 20 have an error so serious it could cost them either the ability to get credit or a job or an apartment. However, those within the industry argue otherwise. When we look at our data, it is astronomically reliable. So we're constantly auditing and evaluating our data. Our regulators are examining us on a regular ongoing basis. So they're looking at all of our systems around data integrity, data reliability, how we engage with consumers, etc,. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, credit bureaus are responsible for correcting any inaccurate information on their reports. But research has suggested that many consumers find errors difficult to get fixed. Credit bureaus are like a judge that always rules for the defendant.

So if your mortgage servicer says you're late, even though you really were never late and you have documentation that you were never late, it will still show up as late. Fixing mistakes is expensive and time-consuming for the credit reporting and credit scoring industry. They are not incentivized to have accuracy, particularly if the mistakes are symmetric and even out. Our entire role in the consumer credit ecosystem is to provide reliable, accurate information. If we were unable to do that, nobody would have any interest in engaging with us whatsoever. Our position is that the system only works and we can only succeed if our data is incredibly reliable and accurate. And that means engaging with consumers continually to try to make sure that they're able to effectively managing their credit and that they're able to effectively feel as though they can interface with us about any concerns that they have.

Another main concern is the lack of regulation and oversight that can ensure fairness and transparency within the industry. You know, I think the idea that the industry is unregulated is a fiction. And we operate in one of the most highly regulated spaces possible. You have a 50-year-old federal statute called the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which essentially mandates everything having to do with credit reports from our rights to challenge information, our rights to freeze our credit reports, our rights to get copies of our credit reports. You have the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which regulates credit bureaus vis a vis credit report accuracy. You have the Federal Trade Commission that shares that regulatory responsibility.

I must say that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which took over oversight of this industry about ten years ago, they've done a really good job of trying to reform the credit bureaus. But I would go further than more regulation or even more laws. Over the years, credit reporting and scoring agencies have made several changes in response to the criticisms against the industry. Perhaps the biggest change comes from the use of alternative data to improve accuracy and inclusion. They've started trying to incorporate other, quote-unquote, nontraditional information. For example, if you pay your mortgage on time every month, your credit score is going to increase. But if you pay your rent on time every month, nothing happens because that information isn't reported. We've innovated with scores like the FICO score XD and the ultra FICO score. They augment traditional credit data with rich alternative data, such as how you pay your telco, utilities, as well as information that's in your checking and savings account. The point of these new scores is to allow consumers to find other ways besides the historical credit to demonstrate their ability to repay credit. More regulatory changes could also be coming.

Two bills, the Protecting Your Credit Score Act and the Comprehensive Credit Act, were both passed by the House in 2020, aimed at overhauling the credit scoring system with more oversight and provisions aimed at protecting consumer credit. They have yet to be put on a vote by the Senate. One of the initiatives that we're championing because we really think the solution to a lot of these concerns around how do you help consumers access financial products is an alternative data piece of legislation called the Credit Access and Inclusion Act, which would really encourage the reporting of rental data, utility data, bring new data into the system that would allow literally millions of Americans to access financial products and services. But ultimately, credit in its current state is dependent on the consumer's financial decisions. I'll tell you the two things that you need to do, and it will be impossible for you not to have a good score. Number one, never, ever miss a payment on anything, ever.

That's easy. It's writing a check at the end of the month and paying your minimum payment, right? Number two, you've got to stay out of credit card debt. And I'm not saying don't use credit cards, I'm saying don't max out your credit cards. Don't use th as a supplement to your income or to keep up with the Joneses or to impress somebody. Pay your bills on time, stay out of excessive credit card debt, lather, rinse, repeat, and you're going to have fantastic credit scores. You know, 'how you manage your credit is a sign of responsibility.' It's not. A lot of people have negative items on their credit report because they were the victim of bad luck, not because they're bad people. So they got sick, they lost their job and now they can't pay their bills and their credit report is going to stop them from getting a new one. That's crazy.
