As we bid farewell to 2024, we take a moment to reflect on the remarkable lives and legacies of 40 entertainment icons who left us this year. Their contributions to film, television, music, and sports have shaped popular culture, leaving an indelible mark on audiences around the world. From legendary actors and musicians to sports stars who transcended their fields, these stars inspired generations with their talent, creativity, and passion. Here, we pay tribute to the cultural giants who helped shape entertainment as we know it.

Biggest icons in Hollywood that passed away in 2024

Remembering the Icons of Film and Television

The film and television industry mourned the loss of several legendary figures in 2024. Among them was Dame Maggie Smith, whose illustrious career spanned over six decades, with iconic roles in films like The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Harry Potter, as well as her beloved portrayal of the Dowager Countess in Downton Abbey. Her ability to bring depth and wit to her characters made her a cherished figure in British cinema.

We also said goodbye to Donald Sutherland, a versatile actor whose performances in films like MASH, Ordinary People, and The Hunger Games captivated audiences. Sutherland’s career, marked by over 200 credits, showcased his ability to embody a wide range of characters, making him one of the most respected actors of his generation.

James Earl Jones, the iconic voice behind Darth Vader and Mufasa, also passed away in 2024. His deep, resonant voice became synonymous with authority and wisdom, and his contributions to stage and screen earned him numerous accolades throughout his career.

The comedy world also faced a significant loss with the passing of Bob Newhart, whose unique deadpan delivery and comedic timing made him a household name. His shows, The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart, remain beloved classics.

Music Legends Who Made History

The music world lost several influential figures who revolutionized their respective genres. Quincy Jones, a legendary music producer, composer, and arranger, passed away, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy. His collaborations with artists like Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra produced some of the most iconic albums of all time. Jones’s influence on jazz, pop, and R&B is immeasurable.

Another devastating loss was Kris Kristofferson, a country music legend known for his songwriting and soulful performances. His hits, including “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” resonated with fans worldwide, and his acting career added another dimension to his influence in entertainment.

The world of rock and roll also mourned Dickey Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. Betts’s pioneering work in Southern rock continues to inspire musicians today.

Sports Stars Who Transcended Their Fields

Several athletes who became cultural icons were also lost in 2024. Willie Mays, one of the greatest baseball players of all time, was known not only for his athletic prowess but also for his charismatic personality. His legacy in Major League Baseball is legendary, with highlights like his iconic over-the-shoulder catch.

In basketball, the loss of Jerry West was deeply felt. Known as “The Logo” due to his silhouette being featured in the NBA’s logo, West’s influence on the sport extended beyond his playing career, as he became a successful executive and mentor.

Dikembe Mutombo, a towering presence both on and off the court, was remembered not only for his shot-blocking skills but also for his humanitarian work. His efforts to improve healthcare and education in his native Democratic Republic of the Congo earned him global respect.

A Legacy That Lives On

The passing of these 40 entertainment icons leaves a void that will be felt for years to come. Their contributions to film, television, music, and sports shaped the cultural landscape and inspired countless individuals to dream big and pursue their passions.

While we mourn their loss, we also celebrate their legacies. Their work lives on in the films we watch, the music we listen to, and the sports we love. These stars may have left us, but their influence will continue to shine brightly in the world of entertainment for generations to come.

Liam’s career began on the stage of The X Factor in 2010, where he captivated judges and audiences with his talent. Although initially eliminated, fate brought him back to join forces with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik to form One Direction. Together, they became a global sensation, producing chart-topping hits like “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Story of My Life,” and “Drag Me Down.” With his vocal strength and dedication, Liam quickly became a fan favorite, helping the band secure their place in pop music history.

After the group went on hiatus in 2016, Liam embarked on a solo career, showcasing his artistic versatility. His debut single, “Strip That Down,” became an international hit, proving that he could thrive independently. Over the years, Liam experimented with different genres, blending pop, R&B, and dance music to create a unique sound that reflected his personal growth.

Beyond his musical achievements, Liam was known for his openness about his struggles with mental health. His candor about the challenges he faced resonated with fans and inspired many to prioritize their well-being. Liam also used his platform to support various causes, demonstrating a deep compassion for others and a commitment to making a positive impact.

As we reflect on Liam’s life, we remember not only his talent but also his kindness, humility, and ability to connect with people. His music, whether with One Direction or as a solo artist, became the soundtrack to countless memories for fans around the world.

September 2024 was a somber month for the world of sports, as we said goodbye to some of the most revered athletes across different disciplines. Each of these individuals left a lasting legacy, both on and off the field, and our latest “In Memoriam” video pays tribute to their incredible contributions. This month, we honor the lives of Dikembe Mutombo, Salvatore Schillaci, Mercury Morris, Pete Rose, and Allen Aldridge, whose impact in their respective sports will be remembered for generations to come.

Dikembe Mutombo was more than just an iconic figure in basketball; he was a humanitarian and a symbol of excellence. Known for his incredible shot-blocking ability, Mutombo was a defensive force in the NBA. His finger-wagging gesture after a blocked shot became one of the most recognizable in the league’s history. However, his influence extended far beyond the court, as he dedicated much of his post-basketball life to improving healthcare and education in his native Congo. His passing leaves a profound impact on both the sports and philanthropic communities.

Salvatore Schillaci, often remembered for his unforgettable performance during the 1990 FIFA World Cup, was a hero in the world of Italian football. Nicknamed “Totò,” Schillaci’s stunning goals helped propel Italy to the semifinals, and his Golden Boot-winning performance remains a cherished memory for football fans worldwide. His career inspired many, and his legacy in Italian football is secure.

Mercury Morris, a key part of the Miami Dolphins’ legendary 1972 undefeated team, was a trailblazer in American football. As a dynamic running back, Morris helped the Dolphins achieve a perfect season, a feat that has yet to be repeated in the NFL. His speed, skill, and contributions to the game are etched into football history.

Pete Rose, one of the most controversial figures in baseball, also passed away in September. While his career was not without its controversies, Rose remains Major League Baseball’s all-time hits leader. His relentless style of play, often referred to as “Charlie Hustle,” made him a fan favorite and earned him a place among baseball’s greats, despite the debates surrounding his legacy.

Lastly, Allen Aldridge, a respected NFL linebacker, spent nearly a decade on the gridiron. Known for his determination and sportsmanship, Aldridge was admired by teammates and fans alike for his dedication to the game.

These athletes not only left their mark in the world of sports, but they also inspired countless fans and future athletes. Our “In Memoriam” video is a tribute to their incredible careers and lasting legacies. Though they may no longer be with us, their contributions to sports history will never be forgotten.

In September 2024, the world of Film and TV bid farewell to some of its most beloved icons. These stars not only defined eras with their talent but also left lasting impressions on audiences worldwide. Our latest “In Memoriam” video pays tribute to the legends who passed away during this month, including the incomparable Dame Maggie Smith, the versatile Kris Kristofferson, and the iconic James Earl Jones.

Dame Maggie Smith, a true titan of the acting world, graced stage and screen for over seven decades. Known for her impeccable performances in “Downton Abbey” and the “Harry Potter” series, Smith’s ability to inhabit characters with grace, wit, and depth earned her numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards. Her loss leaves a profound void in the world of drama, and her body of work will continue to inspire generations to come.

Kris Kristofferson was a multi-talented force whose career spanned music, film, and songwriting. While his rugged charm lit up the screen in films like “A Star is Born” and “Blade,” it was his songwriting that cemented his status as a legend. Songs like “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night” have become anthems of American music history. As we reflect on Kristofferson’s life, we remember not just an actor but a storyteller whose words resonated with millions.

James Earl Jones, whose resonant voice remains iconic, brought gravitas to every role he played. From his unforgettable portrayal of Darth Vader in “Star Wars” to his heartwarming performance as Mufasa in “The Lion King,” Jones had a presence that transcended the screen. His work spanned decades, breaking barriers and setting new standards for voice acting and on-screen performances. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence, paving the way for future generations of actors.

These extraordinary individuals enriched the world of Film and TV with their unparalleled talent. Our “In Memoriam” video offers a heartfelt tribute to their contributions, ensuring that their legacies continue to shine bright. As we look back on their unforgettable careers, we invite you to join us in celebrating their lives and the timeless joy they brought to the screen. Though they may no longer be with us, their work will live on, immortalized in the hearts of fans and the history of entertainment.

Watching blockbusters at home has never been more magical, with 4K Ultra HD readily available in everyone’s living room. Both new and old releases are getting the 4K release/remaster treatment, but some movies are more worthy of others. If you’re looking for a true marvel to enjoy at home in 4K, you’ve come to the right place.

Dune

Hitting theaters back in December 2021, the highly anticipated Dune remake is a visual masterpiece. The movie was shot in 4.5K and given a 4K finish, which makes it look spectacular on a UHD-capable screen. The combining of Dolby Vision and HDR10 ensures all colors are contrasted excellently and everything is vibrant. If you’re a true movie buff, the only part of the shooting you’ll pick apart is the aspect ratio, which remains in widescreen throughout all IMAX scenes.

The Batman

Despite being prematurely slated by critics and social media warriors, Robert Pattinson smashed the role of Gotham’s defender, which saw The Batman become one of the year’s highest-grossing movies. As you can imagine, the movie is packed with dark scenes, which may leave you thinking 4K isn’t worth it here. However, thanks to The Batman’s native 4K shooting, every detail in the film pops – from the stitching of his cowl to the edges of his suit.

This movie won’t show off the color range of your TV, but if you’ve got a computer with a quality graphics card, you’re all set for a post-work film. You can read more at lenovo.com about 4K-capable graphics.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Regardless of your thoughts on Warner Brothers’ handling of the DC Universe, there’s no denying that the “Snyder Cut” was a true masterpiece – we’re talking about everything from character development to picture quality. Zack Snyder’s Justice League overhauled Joss Whedon’s release, with Snyder himself stating he refused to use a single frame from the initial release. When you watch the film, you will notice that all of the colors are toned down, which creates a much more atmospheric environment. Where bright colors are used, they stand out so much more, which means 4K is the perfect output for home viewing.

Alita: Battle Angel

Released in 2019, Alita: Battle Angel managed to bring in a worldwide box office of $405 million, which was more than double the production costs. Although this doesn’t break any ground and the movie still doesn’t have a sequel announced, despite its huge cult following, Robert Rodriguez’s work deserves to be watched in 4K. Although the film has only been translated for 2K intermediate, the 4K re-release does extremely well. Everything in this science fiction world is crystal clear, to the point that we’re confident you won’t find a cyborg with as much detail anywhere else.

Whether you’re just looking for a decent flick or you want to show off that beautiful UHD TV in your living room, the films above are perfect for the occasion. Once you’ve experienced movies at 4K, you’ll never want to go back.

Iptv stands for Internet Protocol television. It is the latest addition in the line of innovations experienced by the television industry. The interesting thing which makes this new thing unique is that it provides television services via internet. The traditional sources of internet services like cable or satellite are becoming obsolete by this latest inclusion. Here IP networks are used to deliver live TV programs. Moreover, it also contains the feature of on-demand video content.

Photo by Lisa Photios – https://www.pexels.com/es-es/@fotios-photos/

The subscriber-based model is the most popular in iptv services although there are other models too like private networks which are not so common. The reason is their complexity and scaling issues. Moreover, with subscriber-based model, the costumer is at a benefit.

So, through iptv you can get access to multiple channels by using your internet connection. The number of channels is in thousands which touches every domain of human interest. In addition to movie channels, a number of stored movies are also provided to the subscriber. With the option of on-demand video, there is little that will be left out. Sport events gets the most traffic on iptv, as in addition to sports channels, you get to see live matches of football, cricket, tennis and others.

The video on demand service is one of the major causes of success of iptv. It includes

Disney+

Amazon Prime

Netflix

Hulu

The live content is broadcasted over the internet which is made exclusively available to iptv subscribers. You can get access to more than 5000 channels from all over the world by getting subscription of IPTV in UK. The option of free trail is also given by some providers to help you make an informed decision.

Iptv is quite affordable given the vast quantities of its services provided. Some are free services too but they will have a commercial angle to them like ads. For commercial free content you will have to pay which is not so much and is quite cheap in contrast of traditional cable services.

You can consider iptv as a type of live television. The interesting thing is, you don’t miss a program like you do in live television. Here you can replay anything that was broadcasted some time ago. You can also choose to play the whole program from the start in case you missed anything.

The system is not like casual streaming on web, here customer premises equipment is set up to enable high speed access to end users. Not just for individual user, iptv is being used for corporate networks and other private networks for media delivery. Residential usage of iptv is quite substantial with is surpassing commercial and corporate combined. The iptv networks are still developing around the world and is rapidly increasing in users as more and more people are finding it useful to get benefit from this multi-beneficial service.

In a nutshell, iptv has surpassed the limitations of traditional sources of television like satellite, cable et cetera. With vastness of content and sophisticated delivery, iptv seems destined to become the next standard use across the planet.

The world has changed since the pandemic, disrupting the way we live our lives, but also taking a lot of people with it.

I know that there are thousands upon thousands who should be honored, and especially those in the front lines of the fight against this virus, like first responders, doctors, nurses, and essencial service workers. However, it would be impossible for me to find pics and make a video about them. So, by honoring those who are notable, let me add that I intend to honor everyone who passed away, and send out my thoughts to them, and may they rest in peace.

Now, without further ado, this video honoring those who died because of Coronavirus, or COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021.
