A Big Change

I received word in late August that Typepad (my blog platform) would be shutting down effective September 30, 2025. What does that mean? After the 30th this blog will not exist.

I am working on getting a new blog started but am not sure how long it will take before it is up and running. At first, there will not be any of my past blog posts. I do plan to get them uploaded at some point but am not sure when and if it will go smoothly or not.

I won’t be posting here except to give you my new blog address providing I have it before 9/30. I am continuing to post on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/astheinkdries). Be sure to follow me there for stamping ideas and inspiration. I will also be posting there when my new blog is live.

Thank you for all the support you have shown me. I hope you will continue to stay in touch.

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Stamping Friends Challenge. This week it is a Sketch Challenge.

I followed the sketch pretty closely except I changed the orientation of the card to make it a landscape card.

The Jolly Delivery Suite is so cute. I couldn't resist it and I don't even have a cat or a dog.

Very Vanilla CS layer embossed with the Peaceful Greenery 3D Embossing folder.

Real Red Shiny Ribbon tied with a double know around the sentiment panel. This ribbon ties beautifully and has subtle shine. I am so happy to have a Real Red ribbon!
Garden Green CS circle cut using the Spotlight on Nature die.
Sitting on the circle is one of the pre-cut designs from the orth Pole Delivery Specialty DSP. There are 2 sheets of pre-cut designs. One sheet is animals, envelopes, and presents. The other sheet as buildings, cars, and mailboxes. The pre-cut designs are adorable.

DIY Calendar Blog Hop: September

It is the first of the month which means it is time for the DIY Calendar blog hop! On the first of every month we get together and share our calendar page for the month. When you think of September, what comes to mind? I think about the days getting shorter and the start of cooler weather.

September 22nd marks the start of Autumn.

Country Woods DSP 1-3/4" x 3-3/8".
Country Woods DSP 1-5/8" x 3-1/4".
Garden Green CS inked in Garden Green ink with a stamp from Tractor & Co and die cut with the coordinating die.
Daffodil Delight CS inked in Crushed Curry ink with the corn image from Tractor & Co. Until very recently I thought it was Christmas lights and not corn.

Pumpkin Pie CS inked in Pumpkin Pie ink with the pumpkin stampr from Tractor & Co and die cut with the coordinating die.
I did "wipe" off the Pumpkin Pie ink from the pumpkin stems and used an Early Espresso Stampin' Write marker to color it. Now that we do not carry Early Espresso Stampin' Write markers I would use a Blender pen swiped in Early Espresso ink to color the stems.
The Autumn was cut using a die set coming in the 2025 Sept-Dec Mini catalog called Words for the Season.

Rustic Celebrations Just A Note

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Stamping Friends Challenge. This week it is a color challenge.

I have to credit this color challenge for my new appreciation of the color Basic Beige. Yes, I wasn't a fan of the color. Now after playing with Basic Beige I have used it many times. It is a light enough color to write on and use as an inside layer and it looks so good with the colors of Fall.

Yes, I used one of my go-to stamp sets, Rustic Celebrations.

Pecan Pie CS card base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".
Early Espresso card base - 4" x 5-1/4".
Woven Textures DSP - 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".
Early Espresso CS cut using the Everyday Arches dies ( #7 - #1 being the smallest die).
Basic Beige CS cut using the Everyday Arches dies (#6 - #1 being the smallest die).
Sentiment from Simply Said inked in Early Espresso ink.

Blender pen used to color the log containers.
Image colored using Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends and Basic Beige ink with a Blender pen.
Layer the Basic Beige arch and the Early Espresso Arch.

Attach the arches to the card base with Stampin' Dimensinals.

Perfectly Pears Birthday

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Stamping Friends Challenge. This week it is a sketch challenge.

I do not often make slimline cards. I recently found some retired Stampin' Up! envelopes that would fit a slimline card so I made my card to fit the envelope.

Petal Pink CS card base 6-3/4" x 6-5/8" scored at 3-3/8".
Basic White CS 3-1/8" x 6-3/8" embossed using the Damask Designs EF.
Painterly Pears DSP cut using the Party Banners dies (#2 with 1 being the smallest banner), cut 3 banners.
3 flower bunches cut using the Perfectly Pears dies with Muted Palette dot centers.
Pear from the Perfectly Pears stamp set inked in Mossy Meadow ink and colored with Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink ink.
Leaves stamped in Mossy Meadow ink and colored with Mossy Meadow ink. and Pecan Pie Marker.
Sentiment from the Sweet Jar stamp set inked in Mossy Meadow ink.
Sentiment die cut using the Perfectly Pears dies.

Simple Sunday- Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper

Need some quick and easy cards? Today's Simple Sunday projects are just that.

The Thoughtful Journey DSP is a beautiful pack of paper. I love the dreamy scenes and colors but I have not used it very much. I decided it was time to figure it out. I realized that the paper is so pretty that you really do not need to do very much.

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Stamping Friends Challenge. This week it is a color challenge.

I will be honest with you, when I first saw this combination I was stumped and wondered how I was going to use all three of these colors together. I soon realized that they really do work and I especially like Coastal Cabana with Timid Tiger.

Coastal Cabana CS card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".
Basic White CS layer 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".
Timid Tiger CS layer 3-3/4" x 5" embossed with the Glass & Garden Embossing folder.
Circle cut on the Timid Tiger CS using the Stylish Shapes dies.
Tie a double knot with the Faux Linen Timid Tiger ribbon.
Adhere the Timid Tiger CS layer to the Basic White CS layer.
Jar (Sweet Jar) stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and punched out with the Sweet Jar Builder punch.
Jar lid inked in Coastal Cabana ink and punched out using the Sweet Jar Builder punch.
Adhere the lid to the jar and attach the jar with Stampin' Dimensionals in the circle.
Flowers from the Extraordinary Flora set inked in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
Flowers colored using Stampin' Blends in Petunia Pop and Timid Tiger.
Leaves colored using a Blender pen and Coastal Cabana ink.

Perfectly Pears Hello

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Stamping Friends Challenge. This week we are back with a sketch challenge.

Love this sketch and I immediately thought about the Perfectly Pears bundle and the Painterly Pears DSP.

I scored the front of the card base to create the fold down piece. I added the Petal Pink layer and the Painterly Pears DSP. The front of the card is also a piece of the DSP. I stamped and colored the pear using Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pecan Pie and Petal Pink inks. The pear sits on a Petal Pink Stylish Shapes circle. The pear looked a little lonely so I added some flowers from the Perfectly Pears set. The center of the flowers are Low Profile Dots in Petal Pink. The sentiment in the upper corner is also from the Perfectly Pears set and inked in Old Olive.

The Painterly Pears DSP is part of the In Color sale and is currently 15% off . I will say that right now this is my favorite DSP.
