Can you make the Arsenal crest out of retired aircraft materials? Emirates Engineering just answered! It all started with an idea. Then it became an icon of a 20-year historic partnership.

Created in 34 days by a team of 15 engineers, designers, mechanics and technicians and painters, the project brings together the precision of aviation engineering with the discipline and skill of elite sport.

At the centre of the installation, Arsenal’s famous cannon has been reconstructed using components from an Emirates Airbus A380. A main landing gear wheel hub forms the centre of the cannon wheel, while a section of titanium bleed air duct has been cut and reshaped to create its barrel. Lightweight composite floor panels have been built up to form the cannon’s three-dimensional body.

Sheets of Boeing 777 aluminium fuselage skin create the face of the shield, with aircraft cargo tracks adapted to form its outer edge and internal structure. Cargo floor panels and roller components have also been repurposed throughout the installation.

The Arsenal lettering has been individually shaped from aircraft windows and fitted with integrated warm white lighting. Further lighting beneath the plinth illuminates the sculpture and its specially constructed black tile base.

– 18 August 2026: Following last week’s unveiling of the Aircrafted Arsenal Crest, Emirates is taking viewers behind the scenes to showcase the engineering expertise, craftsmanship and precision that went into the creation of the 2.4-meter illuminated sculpture. Designed and built entirely in-house by Emirates Engineering teams, the Crest was brought to life by a team of 15 experts in just 34 days. Watch how the team clean, cut, curve, machine, rivet, assemble and paint aviation materials into one of the most recognisable emblems in football.

Once built, the sculpture began its final journey to Emirates Stadium. Carefully packaged in a custom-built, protective crate, the Aircrafted Arsenal Crest was handed over to the experts at Emirates SkyCargo, to be loaded into a freighter departing Dubai for London Stansted. With decades of experience in handling everything from specialised technology through to ancient artifacts, the airline’s cargo arm ensured this one-of-a-kind installation was handled with care at every touchpoint.

Beyond transporting the Crest, aircraft components from cargo operations were used in the build itself, including cargo tracks, floor panels and roller components to help structure and shape the iconic emblem.

The Making Of video captures the people, processes and aviation expertise behind this project, and offers a closer look at how Emirates brought together expertise across its operations to create this tribute to one of its longest-standing partnerships.

The Emirates and Arsenal partnership first began in 2006, and has recently been extended through to 2033. As the partners enter the next chapter of their partnership, Emirates will continue as Arsenal’s front-of-shirt, training kit and stadium naming rights partner.

When dreaming up a Sonderwunsch vehicle inspired by sports car greats, it’s easy to fall back into familiar patterns. The owner of the Flachbau RS set out to break them all.

Taking the 911 GT2 RS from their own collection as a base for their new Sonderwunsch car, every detail was rethought – but keeping the same legendary engine. The goal was not to make a decorative special edition or simply spruce up an existing model using a few historic details. Instead it was to build a unique car focused on performance and one reflecting the customer’s personality.

The Flachbau RS had to combine the best of all worlds: lightweight construction, outstanding track performance, a heritage silhouette, an interior that was comfortable to take to the road in and an exterior paint job to fall in love with.

The result of those demanding specifications – the Flachbau RS – manages it all, and more. With a body inspired by the historic 935/78 “Moby Dick”, a rear wing similar to that of the 911 GT3 R rennsport (992) and performance optimised with Manthey-based aerodynamic elements as well as extensive lightweight measures inside the cabin and luggage compartment, it is a sports car unlike any other.

What is the Porsche Flachbau RS?
The German word ‘Flachbau’ translates into English as ‘slantnose’ – it’s a name that comes with an illustrious motorsport history. The first of its kind was the 1976 Porsche 935 – based on the 911 and developed for the Group 5 racing category, when racing regulations began to allow for wider bumpers. For the 1977 version of the model, a twin-turbo engine was added. The variant of the 935 that’s perhaps the most famous of all is the 935/78 “Moby Dick”, a Le Mans contender that won the 6 Hours of Silverstone in 1978 with a seven-lap lead, driven by Porsche motorsport legends Jochen Mass and Jacky Ickx.

It’s standout shape attracted plenty of attention and, soon enough, Porsche customers began asking if it could become available as a road-going car. As a result, the first Sonderwunsch 911 Flachbau was created in the 1980s, available as a re-build of the flagship 911 Turbo. More than 900 of them were sold to eager customers.

However, the reference point most closely used by the owner of the Flachbau RS was the Porsche 935 from 2018. Built to commemorate the Rennsport Reunion motorsport event at Laguna Seca Raceway in California, the 2018 Porsche 935 boasted a huge 700 PS and was itself inspired by the very same “Moby Dick” that garnered such acclaim in 1978.

The exterior details of the Flachbau RS
The original 911 GT2 RS (991) has an aggressive front end, but it still carries the recognisable 911 face. The Flachbau RS changes that completely.

To accommodate the trademark slantnose front end, a new cascading lighting concept was developed which replaces the round eyes of the 911 with flat lamps, five on each side. Additionally, new louvres and fenders were added, as well as several key Manthey kit parts, such as the flics (otherwise known as dive planes, canards or aero flaps), diffuser, rear wheel covers and a new chassis including a lift system. The rear wing shape is inspired by the 911 GT3 R rennsport (992).

To round off the motorsport look, the exterior paint job follows a two-tone concept – Grand Prix White and matte black – combined with visible carbon parts for contrast. The brake callipers are high-gloss black.

One thoughtful detail is that the stripe colours are inverted compared to the series 911 GT2 RS. Where the original boasted outer visible carbon stripes and had the middle stripe painted, the Flachbau RS features the middle stripe in carbon and has the outer stripes painted instead.

The engine belongs to the base car – the 911 GT2 RS – in the form of a 3.8-litre, six-cylinder unit that produces 700 PS.

The lightweight construction of the Flachbau RS
While the flattened nose gives the Flachbau RS its distinctive look, its hyper lightweight construction gives it an edge. The engineering team managed to shave off 31.6 kg from the standard car weight, including interior improvements. For example the removal of some interior carpeting and noise insulation, the rear side panels and the sound system.

The trunk area was similarly stripped, producing a bare metal look. The sections of metal that were now visible on the inside were painted the same Grand Prix White as the exterior.

The interior of the Flachbau RS
Despite all the weight-reduction measures of the car, the interior has kept its charm. New carbon side panels were added, with bezels placed to cover visible mechanics. The floor mats have been personalised, as has the headrest, which has been stitched with an individual design. The seatbelt outlets were painted white, while the roll cage remained as it was on the original version of the car. Last but not least, visible cables were wrapped or finished depending on their position and function.

- Is it me or is everyone now copying daily japanese vehicles and old japanese vehicles (aka it looks like a 2011 Nissan GTR front bolted on a 911)? Think you guys need to rethink either your design strategy or your moto.

- Porsche, about a year ago I saw an exposé video from one of your customers. Well, after watching that video, I completely lost any desire to buy one of your cars (passenger cars, of course). When I was a kid, I once saw the taillights of a Porsche 911 and simply fell in love with that beauty. And the more time passed, the more I longed to one day own one of these masterpieces. However, the exposé video proved that you sell cars in the most repulsive way imaginable. It reminded me of a criminal gang. Therefore, I’ve already crossed buying a Porsche off my list of dreams. alas

- There is something very FISHY going on this AUGUST for 7 car companies to release vehicles within days of each other. Keep your eyes open, something big and most likely devastating is happening or about to take place. The powers that be want to distract us from our reality. Though I appreciate the cars released, especially from McLaren.

- 2019 GT2 RS still bombing the tracks, i hope they used e turbos from new gt3rs to preserve that old gt3 rs sound rather powered by belt/chain fully instead of waste gasses, kinda hybrid combo of supercharged system to electrtify and e-turbo to…. Well turbocharge…. And use latest gt3 rs chasis and handling tricks up its sleeve…

- I would recommend no one buy a Chevy. In my Chevy equinox Chevrolet decided to keep using a part in the breaking system that they knew had a history of failure and they had actually recalled from other vehicles. My daughter was driving my equinox during rush-hour traffic when this part broke, making her brakes almost as hard as a rock, and she barely avoided a collision with a full gasoline, tanker truck, who knows how many lives could’ve ended because of this brake failure. The broken parts then made their way into my engine, completely ruining my engine and making my car in operable. I tried contacting Chevy, but they have shown me that they do not care about my situation or apparently the safety of their customers. There has even been a new class action lawsuit filed because of all the damage Chevrolet choosing to use this part has caused.

- I see that they brought back the heartbeat of America slogan from the 90s but not the like a rock song that people have requested,the people who buy their trucks. - i think you need to use a thicker clear coat and a real Allision transmission in your trucks before anyone informed of your post-pandemic behavior can ascribe any level of seriousness to your claims. Your trucks are a joke due to all the corners you cut and you even lie to your customers in the process.

- Allow me to share my story, then decide if you want to buy GM. I have a 2020 Chevy Bolt. GM installed battery monitoring software on the vehicle. The software detected a battery fault. According to the safety recall the battery is supposed to be replaced free if the software flags a problem. GM is refusing to replace the battery under the recall. So the software shut the car down, it will not move or charge, and GM is refusing to replace the battery under the recall.

It’s all plastic crap now anyway , Take out all those bs electronics , don’t need gps , tv screens rear sensors ect… Pick up with vynl seats rubber mats and Manuel transmission , roll up windows , give me a radio that has blue tooth so my friends can listen to thier music, and a real spare tire , standard keys , don’t need all that anti theft and tracking crap , …But a $20 g vehicle would destroy that industry, no more $2500 commissions for dealers , no more $40 hr for the auto workers , no more money for the banks and finance company’s , no more 7 year loans at 12-16%, but all I see are people wanting more and more like this life of excess and luxury is just the standard,

- I always drove cheap beaters once I got my license. When I turned 30, I thought I would treat myself and buy a nicer used vehicle, so I picked up a 2011 Chevy Avalanche with just under 100k miles on it for 15 grand. Originally I was thrilled with it, but it almost immediately started giving me issues, and before I gave up and got rid of it, I had put more into engine repairs than I had spent on all of my previous beaters combined. I didn't even get 25k miles out of it. I ditched it and picked up a 2006 Honda CR-V with a quarter million miles on it for $1500, and it has served me very well over the past decade or so. Haven't had to do a gd thing to it except change the oil and replace brake pads and tires.

(Midyear convertible, Squarebody, Colorado and a Mercruiser/Chevy powered Baja!) - All that was left out was my vintage Chevy P30 Classic Airstream motorhome. I have road tripped through all but one of the states, but THIS heart beats in CANADA!

- I remember the Chevy slogan "Baseball Apple Pies and Chevrolets" slogan used to advertise their station wagons back in the early 1970's too. My Father remembered their slogan from the 1950's too. It was, "See The USA today in a Chevrolet." Our family owned several of them. I have owned nine of them myself and would buy another one in a heartbeat.

- The fact that a Rogue has more room is telling. The Murano is just a carryover of one of the worst Nissans available. I own a 2024. Miniscule cubby space, center console is a joke, and the tech was really out dated. Now it's updated, just worse. The inline 4 is horrible....god awful behavior. Sluggish, perky at the wrong spots, etc. Why????

I had a Cadillac 2025 xt5 v6 engine and although the Cadillac was faster I still have to say that I enjoy driving my Murano. If you have a need for speed then this is not it. But don’t sleep on it it still has good speed for a 4 cylinder turbo

- I drive a 2025 Murano Platinum. The “lurch” she talks about is real BUT went away at around 1,000 miles. I was worried at first especially since my prior car was a Maxima that I absolutely loved driving. Now that it’s broken in the Murano picks up speed quickly and smoothly. It went from something I worried about to a really enjoyable driving experience. She’s not making it up but it goes away. At least that’s my experience. The seats are the most comfortable I’ve ever sat in. I got it way below the $50,000 too so don’t worry about the sticker shock.

Even so, my first instinct was to claim it looks a bit too "clean" and soulless but that might just be some prejudice I think I have against American cars, for their perceived lack in supercar heritage. there are so many billionaires these days that the demand for a hyper car thats worth 4 mil is overwhelming, all of these companies from Apollo to Zenvo to Pagani and the likes are producing these awesome machines in which only these super rich will enjoy, before it was only Ferrari and Lambo but now there are so many brands that want a piece of the pie.

The new Aston Martin Valen has been unveiled at The Quail as part of the 2026 Monterey Car Week. With 838bhp it is the most powerful front-engined Aston Martin ever, beating the current Vanquish by 14bhp. The Valen is also 242lb (110kg) lighter than the Vanquish and more aggressive in both its pared-back styling and focussed driving dynamics. Aston is building just 150 Valens to follow in the tyre tracks of other limited edition V12s like the Vulcan, One-77, Valour and Valiant.

Under the bonnet is the faithful 5.2-litre, twin-turbo twelve cylinder but thanks to a new, quad exit, titanium exhaust system Aston Martin says the Valen has been give a bolder voice that is more visceral. The 0-60mph time is down to just 3.0 seconds while top speed is still limited to 214mph. As well as 21-inch magnesium wheels, a 37lb (16.9kg) weight saving comes from an optional lightweight pack that includes suspension arms and knuckles machined from billet aluminium and titanium chassis bolts. The Bilstein DTX dampers have been retuned for the Valen, but of perhaps even more interest are the tyres. The Pirellis are bespoke AML items but are also Cyber Tyres with micro sensors in them that communicate with the Valen's Bosch ECUs to adjust things such as ABS, ESC and traction control in real time with relation to tyre temperature, load, tread wear and pressure. Clever stuff.

The Valen's carbon fibre bodywork is resplendent in Satin Andromeda Red paint which seems to take on every shade from purple to green to gold. Aerodynamic aspects such as the rear diffuser and the slashed side sills are highlighted in silver. There is no rear window, which adds to the mean look of the rear but there is a hatch that lifts up to reveal some luggage space. Later in the video Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's Chief Creative Officer, talks Henry Catchpole through some of these design decisions.

At Pebble Beach, I got a first look at the Aston Martin Valen, the most track-focused, front-engined road car Aston Martin has ever built.
Road-legal, but everything about it comes from the track: a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 paired with a manual transmission, exposed gear linkages, magnesium wheels, carbon-fiber aero covers, a quad titanium exhaust, a half-cage, race-bred dampers, and motorsport-grade lightweighting throughout.
It blends the raw, stripped-back feel of 1970s race cars with modern pit-lane technology and materials. The project began as a personal commission from Fernando Alonso, who wanted a car built purely around the thrill of driving with no compromise.

Aston Martin has unveiled the new Valen, a limited-production V12 supercar billed as the world’s most powerful front-engined production car. Created by Q by Aston Martin with support from the company’s Special Vehicle Operations division, the Aston Martin Valen combines 850 PS, extensive weight reduction and a dramatic full carbon-fibre body.

Power comes from Aston Martin’s 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12, tuned to produce 850 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. A sharper-shifting eight-speed ZF automatic transmission uses strategies derived from the Vantage GT4 racing programme, helping the Valen accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.0 seconds before reaching an electronically limited 214 mph top speed.

Weight reduction has been another major focus. Aston Martin says the Valen can be up to 110 kg lighter than its core V12 platform through extensive use of carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium and magnesium. Standard magnesium wheels reduce unsprung mass, while an optional lightweight package adds machined aluminium suspension components and titanium chassis bolts for a further 16.9 kg saving.

The Aston Martin Valen also receives model-specific chassis tuning, Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers, revised steering calibration and large 410 mm front and 360 mm rear carbon-ceramic brakes. Drivers can select Sport, Sport+ and Track modes, each featuring dedicated throttle and chassis settings.

A bespoke titanium exhaust system gives the V12 a more aggressive soundtrack while reducing weight. Four exhaust outlets include 3D-printed titanium finishers, with two permanently open upper pipes and valved lower outlets that change according to the selected driving mode.

Visually, the Valen represents a more extreme interpretation of Aston Martin’s front-engined supercar formula. Its full carbon-fibre bodywork features slim headlights, a heavily sculpted bonnet, aggressive aerodynamic surfaces and a distinctive full-width rear light bar. Customers can even specify a fully exposed carbon-fibre exterior with bespoke tinted finishes through Q by Aston Martin.

Production of the Aston Martin Valen will be limited to just 150 cars worldwide, with first customer deliveries scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.

- I get it, I love the Aston brand, but this thing has too much Japanese Anime influence. The front and rear forms in that particular paint scheme are totally disjointed. Angled chaos, but that is just my personal bias. Hard to visually beat a DB4 GT Zagato.

'This is about enjoying your on-road driving experience.' I hope I'm wrong but none of the 150 Valens will be enjoyed on a day-to-day onroad basis given their production numbers (and likely price) aimed squarely at someone who will own far more vehicles than they can enjoy.

The Vantage would be that true road-going driving enjoyment car, despite it not having a V12.

- Disappointing. Love Henry's videos and take on things, but a walkaround without a drive feels like I've been had, and ends up coming across as more of a corporate puff piece.

- Based on the evidence here the Scania N series double decker busses operated by Nottingham City Transport are more capable because at least they can actually be seen to move.

Pushing the limits of design and engineering to achieve a supercar of unique drama and capability, Valen is clad in a full-carbon fibre body and powered by the brand's most powerful version of its 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine with 850PS and 1000Nm of torque from just 2500rpm. Combined with targeted hardware and extensive software calibration to steering, suspension and braking systems, Valen delivers a driver-focused configuration to match its raw performance.

Bestowed with an assertive design and character, Valen required a name with equal gravitas and meaning. Derived from the Latin word 'valens', with the etymology referencing "strong," or "powerful", Valen was the perfect name for Aston Martin's most powerful front engined V12, continuing the long-standing dynasty of 'V' names.

The project, the latest special from Aston Martin's bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin who previously gave us Valour, Valiant and DBR22 to name a few was realised thanks to the unique scope and expertise of Aston Martin's newly formed Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Department.

ENGINEERING
Reinforcing Valen's position as the most powerful front-engined supercar, is a sharper-shifting 8-speed ZF transmission, which uses race-proven shift strategies developed for Aston Martin's Vantage GT4 race programme, with crisper and more engaging shifts in all drive modes, which has reduced Valen's 0-60mph time to just 3.0 seconds*. Top speed is electronically limited to 214mph.

For Aston Martin Director of Vehicle Performance, Simon Newton, shaping Valen's performance character was especially satisfying:

“When your basis for a project is the world's most powerful front-engined production car you know you're going to have fun. To bring out the best from the V12 powertrain, Valen adopts a performance drive mode philosophy; Sport, Sport+ and Track modes to create a true feeling of urgency and focus befitting supercar levels of performance and dynamics.

Careful attention has also been paid to Valen's throttle mapping, which changes according to drive mode. For spirited road driving in Sport and Sport+ modes the throttle pedal uses a shorter map to deliver more throttle earlier in its travel, while Track mode trades that urgency for a longer and more progressive delivery when on-limit precision is the priority.

Valen's commitment to performance extends to a significant weight saving of up to 110kg over the core V12 platform – a central focus of the programme. This is achieved through use of a variety of lightweight motorsport inspired materials including carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium and magnesium. An optional lightweight pack featuring machined-from-solid aluminium suspension arms, knuckles and titanium chassis bolts makes a 16.9kg weight saving alone through meticulous manufacturing and extreme attention to detail.

New lightweight magnesium wheels are fitted as standard, minimising unsprung mass to further improve steering response and bring added polish to Valen's wheel control and ride refinement. These wheels are shod with Aston Martin tuned Pirelli P Zero R (275/35 ZR21 front, 325/30 ZR21 rear) and or P Zero Winter 2 tyres (275/35 R21 front, 325/30 R21 rear) developed specifically for Valen to ensure an optimal balance between everyday usability and dynamic track capability. These high-performance, bespoke tyres deliver superior lateral and longitudinal grip that are tuned to maintain a level of approachability and control to the driver, giving the ultimate bandwidth in performance. Valen also adopts Pirelli's latest Cyber™ Tyre technology**, the only hardware and software technology able to share real time tyre data with the vehicle's dynamic control systems. Developed in conjunction with Bosch Engineering the system is fully integrated into the car's digital architecture, allowing the ESP, ABS and traction control systems to continuously adapt their thresholds optimising control and safety.

A combination of significant hardware changes and targeted software calibration adjustments to the ESP, dampers, steering, cambers and braking system delivers a marked character shift to give Valen a unique dynamic signature. One with the bandwidth to sharpen response, precision and control without sacrificing the necessary compliance and refinement required in a car owners will want to take on proper journeys over long distances.

Focused front and rear lateral stiffness delivers precise response and confident direction changes. Reduced roll and pitch motions to driver inputs increases agility feel over the core V12 platform while preserving a playful handling balance for maximum enjoyment.

Intense development focus has been spent on the steering, tuned to deliver feel, connection and system stiffness through the chassis and software tuning. Steering efforts have been tuned for response, allowing Valen to behave like a shorter and lighter car.

Valen also employs a solid mounted rear subframe together with model-specific springs, helper springs and Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers. Steering calibration maximises the feeling of agility and exploits the front-end's limits of grip, but with meticulous care taken to ensure this rotational energy is matched by high levels of traction for a feeling of confident unity and connection front-to-rear.

To ensure all points of contact between car and driver have cohesive feel and response, Valen's brake booster maintains a firm pedal for exceptional precision and complete driver confidence, allowing precise modulation of the 410mm front and 360mm rear carbon ceramic brakes from high and low speeds.

Through its new lightweight titanium exhaust system, Valen has a soundtrack to match its performance. The system has been developed specifically for Valen and features new micro mufflers ensuring compliance with homologation regulations; while saving weight and enhancing the sound quality that's such an essential part of enjoying a V12-engined car to the full. It's a key part of the strategy to ramp-up emotion to create a car of unmistakable visual, dynamic and aural character. Valen's quad exhaust system evokes the design language of a mid-engine hypercar, moulded into the form of a front mid-engined supercar, with four tailpipes split between two upper and two lower. These tailpipe finishers are formed with 3D printed titanium with the focus on lightweighting and material craftsmanship. The upper exhaust exits are always open, with the lower exits valved, opening depending on drive mode for the ultimate emotive soundtrack.

Valen's roar has been carefully tuned to deliver a more performance focused audible experience, reducing lower frequencies while amplifying higher tones. Optimised system dimensions enhance the progression to a dramatic crescendo, while the upper exhaust outlets are tuned akin to organ pipes to generate resonance at higher engine speeds, resulting in a significant increase in character and presence.

DESIGN
Valen presents a re-interpretation of Aston Martin's iconic front-engined formula. Speaking of the creative impetus behind Valen's design, Aston Martin EVP & Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman said: “Valen gave us the opportunity to explore and express more extreme emotions through a new form language and surface treatment. As such, Valen is a significant departure from what has gone before; sharply sculpted lines to reflect the aggressive dynamics, an attacking stance that emphasises the front-engine rear-drive layout and a bespoke interior design that creates a more sporting cockpit environment. Valen is a provocative front-engined supercar exuding increased potency and sporting intent, yet still celebrating the elevated luxury, meticulous detailing and unmistakable design signatures expected of a flagship Aston Martin.”

Valen's dramatic frontal treatment is characterised by deeply recessed slimline headlamp units which are hooded beneath the sharp leading edge of the plunging bonnet line. Together with the more angular treatment of the radiator aperture, bold geometric mesh grille and acutely angled front splitter create a distinctive character

The bonnet itself features a single top vent with perforations at the trailing edge. On each side the traditional side strake has been sharpened and elongated and is now fully incorporated into a large functional vent which extracts air from the wheel arch and guides it down the rounded flanks. The strake feature extends almost the full length of the door before the swollen rear haunches widen to cover the rear wheels.

The lower section of each side is dominated by a stepped sill, which creates a tightly cinched waistline that emphasises the muscular front and rear fender sections. Sharp saw-tooth vortex generators positioned on the trailing edge of the sills pull highspeed airflow from beneath the car to reducing lift and generate downforce. New side-glass quarter windows add to Valen's profile and demonstrate commitment to creating a car with a unique identity.

Valen's rear-design treatment is equally bold. Instead of a fixed rear window and trunk lid both features have been replaced by a solid tailgate. Featuring an aerodynamic wing in its upper section, the tailgate opens onto a sizeable trunk (170 litres) which is available with an optional bespoke luggage set (Touring Pack) to make the most of the available space. A soft, tailored cover can be unfolded to protect the paintwork when lifting cases in and out.

A bespoke full-width light bar sits beneath the large upswept tail, which acts as a Gurney flap to generate downforce while incurring minimal drag and avoiding the need for motorsport-style wings. Below the vivid strip of light is a perforated panel to extract hot air from around the exhaust, which features a pair of high-set tailpipes mounted above the top of the rising rear diffuser and emits a soundtrack befitting of a V12 supercar.

The show car is specified in a Q Ultra developed paint colour, Satin Andromeda Red. The satin top-coat accentuates the assertive lines in the design with the colour shift from the Andromeda Red remaining highly impactful. Andromeda Red blends deep red, copper and rich golden highlights, which shift dynamically to intense undertones of blue. Innovating timeless colour through ultra-luxury pigments, blended through with Chromaflair technology pigments. A commanding range of shifting hues, achievable even in low light environments, bringing new perspectives with an indulgent movement of colour.

With a coach-built carbon fibre body, Valen is available with the option of a stunning fully exposed carbon fibre exterior. This exquisite example of material craftsmanship shows meticulous detail with the herringbone in the carbon weave running down the centre of the car. In addition, the exposed carbon fibre can be tinted in a variety of colours, in both Satin and Gloss finish, with even the possibility of customers working with the Q by Aston Martin team to curate and develop their own bespoke tint.

The interior of Valen has been developed around a clear principle of visual lightness, reflecting the significant mass reduction engineered throughout the car. Central to this is a slim centre console, enabled by advanced 3D-printed components and incorporating the performance-focused switchpack introduced on Valhalla. A new hierarchy of interior trim levels simplifies the selection process without limiting scope for individual choice. Customers first choose between a combination of Semi-Aniline Leather and Alcantara or full Semi-Aniline Leather, before choosing from five material splits (Monotone, Duotone, Light Duotone, Tritone and Driver Focused). Using the new upholstery quilting treatment developed for Valen as an example, the areas where this quilting is applied extends incrementally with each trim level, from door panels, doors and seats, to doors, seats and headlining in the top tier specification. The additional choice of a driver-focussed option (which highlights the driver's seat), and an accent pack which adds contrast colour detailing ensures a near-limitless choice of combinations.

Elsewhere, 3D-printed elements are used throughout the cabin, echoing the approach with previous limited-edition specials, such as Valkyrie and DBS Zagato. These perforated sections reference the exterior cooling vents, adding visual intrigue and contributing to an increased sense of lightness and simplicity. The centre console is also new, with elements taken from the Valhalla. The central touchscreen is reclined at more of an angle to better integrate within the sleek geometry of the pared-back interior design.

Functional items such as the air vents have been changed to further reduce visual clutter and a new palette of anodising colours has been developed, expanding the scope for embellishment and personalisation offered via Q by Aston Martin.

The Nissan Murano has always been one of the more interesting vehicles in Nissan’s boring line up, and I’ll be completely honest, I’ve always liked as it always stood out and had great design, especially the Cross Cabrio ;)

The newest, 4th generation is no different, maybe be a little bit more conservative, however it is still a pretty attractive vehicle.

As a 2-row mid-size SUV, the Murano uses a modified, front wheel drive platform from the Pathfinder. We have a strut front suspension, multilink in the back combined with frequency sensitive dampers, which aren’t adaptive per say, you cannot adjust the damping power, but they change their characteristic based on the driving conditions, so they can have better damping when you hit potholes, or improve body control when you enter corners.

Nissan also put a good amount of effort to reduce NVH, we have lots of isolators and deadening materials, laminated side windows, and I can already tell you, the ride comfort is pretty high in this thing.

Another big change in the Murano is the powertrain. First of all, the naturally aspirated V6 also the infamous CVT are gone.

We have a 241-hp 2-liter turbo-4, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, with AWD as standard starting in 2026, 2025s were FWD standard, and AWD was an option.

So the terrible CVT is gone and and you may think it’s a change for better. Well, yes and no.

I’m happy to see a conventional, 9-speed automatic, but the engine is a variable compression turbo unit, something Nissan has been pushing in their vehicles for the past few years.

When you need more power and torque, the compression ratio is lowered, allowing for more boost from the turbocharger, and when you drive normally, the compression ratio will be higher for better fuel economy.

It sounds like a good idea, but doesn’t really work. The tuning is far from perfect and if you expect some crazy MPG numbers, you’ll be disappointed. I averaged around 20 MPG in the city, 28 MPG on a highway and 22-23 MPG combined, so far from perfect for a “groundbreaking” technology.

We start with an SV for $41,000, then we have an SL for around $47,000, which seems like the sweet spot, and in case of our tester, a top of the line Platinum we’re looking at around $55,000.

- Interestingly, I went to buy another vehicle for my wife. I already have a 2018 Murano Platinum, so I was looking at the 25 Platinum. I drove all 3 trims, and was sorely disappointed. I agree with your complete assessment of the cars shortcomings. The engine and transmission are a horrible experience. My 2018 V6 with the hated CVT is smooth as glass. This was horrible.

Then there are three controls. Dreadful is being kind. I had to stop at the rest area on the interstate to figure out how to get the cruise control to work. Then I figured out it didn't have ProPilot Assist 2.1. I always test cars to see if I could get 4 full sized golf bags in the trunk...fail! The rear seats also don't recline.

So, after a couple hours of driving the 25 Murano, 25 Pathfinder (another horrible driving experience and too big of a vehicle for my wife), and the 25 Rogue Platinum, I ended up with the Rogue Platinum for $14,000 less than the Murano. It has a much better cargo area and similar passenger space. Also, ProPilot Assist 2.1. I gave up ventilated seats, and a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, but not much else. It suits my purpose just fine.

- Kudos to Nissan for not enabling that rear seat occupancy reminder horn by default. CR: not everyone has kids. I’d lose my mind if that was the default behavior. Nissan makes it a standard feature, thereby giving owners the option to enable it if their family situation would benefit from it. Nissan should get the score credit. Stop forcing driver aids that are not universally applicable on us CR.

- When it comes to touching buttons or screens, do auto engineers ever realize that drivers and passengers actually need to use them as the vehicle is bouncing along going down the road? And having buttons that are small or difficult to see only makes it more likely to hit the wrong damn button!

- I've mentioned my car before in Sarah's reviews, but I'm still amused by how similar the Miata is to my Yaris iA, which is a re-badged Mazda2. The iA weighs about the same, has a smaller engine, and uses lesser-quality material for things like the seats. And it's a 4-door sedan. But looks quite similar on the inside, and has the same driving characteristics (within the limits of the smaller engine amd torsion beam), and is quite wonderful for a cheap sub-compact. Mine is up to 185,000 miles and still runs great, and car forums have several mentions from people withover 200,000 miles on theirs. I would expect the Miata, with better components, to have a similar, or better, lifespan.

- I am lucky enough to have a few 'fun' cars including a couple from Italy. However, if it ever came to the point that it was decried that "Thou shalt only have one fun car", I would keep my NB Miata over all of them. After all, it is so much more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. 😁

And it's normal on car with that age and kms to be needing some replacement parts for it. It sits now at 280k+ kms still a joy to ride. It's my daily car and next to my bike it's kind of a 2nd vehicle too. I am looking around if I need to replace it go with another Mazda 3 but probably newer since these are not that common or completely rusted or in need of massive maintance. Miata would be cool too but not great for bigger stuff to load in. Solid cars though definitely wouldn't mind owning one of them.

BLACKBIRD DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Blackbird is engineered as a driver’s car: fast, engaging, comfortable, and rewarding over hundreds of miles. It is designed for great roads rather than lap times, placing the driver at the center through mechanical interaction, natural response, and a distraction-free cockpit.

The six-speed gated manual is the clearest expression of that approach. Its exposed linkage, physical gate, and deliberate shift action make every gear change part of the experience, not a background function.

The naturally aspirated V8 reinforces the character, targeting more than 9,000 rpm with linear response and an intentional focus on achieving an emotional sound. The absence of turbochargers and hybrid assistance is a deliberate choice to protect immediacy and interaction.

The cabin removes visual and cognitive clutter: no visible infotainment screens, no digital displays, and no steering-wheel buttons. A large central tachometer, physical key, and analog controls make the interface feel permanent rather than transient.

Touring ability broadens the engagement. Adaptive suspension, traction control, ABS, low NVH targets, and considered ergonomics support long days and special roads without diluting the analog character. POWERTRAIN & PERFORMANCE
Blackbird is powered by an all-new naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 developed with Ilmor Engineering. Hennessey is targeting around 800-850 hp, and more than 9,000 rpm, with the engine expected to be both the highest-revving and most powerful naturally aspirated road-car V8.

The numbers matter, but character matters more. The engine is intended to deliver immediate throttle response, linear power, and emotional sound – mechanical, unfiltered, and directly connected to the driver. The emphasis on beauty and attention to detail extends to the engine itself, with its visibility through the rear glass engine cover as significant as its unique sound signature. Performance targets include 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph. Those figures place Blackbird firmly in hypercar territory, but its purpose is usable, memorable performance rather than simply pursuit of a number.

An all-new bespoke Hennessey full-carbon tub, carbon-fiber bodywork, and inboard suspension architecture provide the foundation. Adaptive suspension supports both comfortable cruising and spirited driving, with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires standard and two unique Hennessey wheel options available.

Rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual are the only drivetrain configuration offered, ensuring every Blackbird shares the same core character: involving, confidence-inspiring, and precise rather than remote. BLACKBIRD INTERIOR
The Blackbird interior is built around maximum man-machine connection, rejecting screen-led complexity in favor of physical interfaces, timeless design cues, and a cabin intended to feel special for decades.

A large central tachometer gives the cabin its focal point. In a high-revving, naturally aspirated, manual–transmission hypercar, engine speed matters emotionally as much as technically, so it receives visual priority.

The six-speed gated manual, exposed shift linkage, physical ignition key, simplified controls, and absence of steering-wheel buttons focus attention on the act of driving. Technology is present where useful, but never allowed to dominate.

Connectivity is handled through a hidden-technology strategy. Premium speakers provide excellent audio, while navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto run through the driver’s device – securely held in a bespoke Hennessey holster – preserving functionality without a conventional infotainment screen.

Aviation cues continue inside, including a dash-mounted whiskey compass as standard with an optional time piece, while the broader cockpit architecture prioritizes visibility, clarity, and permanence. The new Hennessey Blackbird is resolutely analogue, with a six-speed manual gearbox, a naturally aspirated engine and no screens in the cabin. Even better, the hypercar’s design has taken inspiration from the iconic Blackbird aeroplanes from which it gets its name. Henry Catchpole looks round the new car and then takes a 2013bhp Hennessey Venom F5 Stealth on a road trip to the Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Center to see the only SR-71B in existence.

You might expect a new car from John Hennessey to be all about maximum power and top speed, but while the Blackbird (a name now trademarked for automotive use by Hennessey) will be both powerful with 800-850bhp and fast with a v-max of 220mph, that isn’t the focus. Instead it is all about the feel and the sound. As such you won’t find any turbos here, just the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in a production car. This new 6.2-litre engine will be made by legendary Indycar supplier Ilmor and, unlike the pushrod V8 in the F5, it will be an overhead cam engine that will rev to more than 9000rpm.

The Blackbird’s design is the work of Nathan Malinick and he has taken clear inspiration from the legendary aeroplane that came from Kelly Johnson’s Skunk Works at Lockheed in the 1960s. In particular the Hennessey’s active vertical stabilisers on its tail are a beautiful interpretation of the aeroplane’s rudders, while the rear lights mimic J58 afterburners. The distinctive diamond pattern of the exhaust (which is repeated in the headlights and cupholders) actually comes from the Bell X-1, the first plane to go supersonic.

Each of the 71 Blackbirds that Hennessey Special Vehicles intends to build will cost from $2.5million and we should see them on the road in a couple of years. For now, we still have the mighty Venom F5 and Henry Catchpole experiences what 2031bhp and 1445lb ft of torque feels like on the road as he drives to Kalamazoo. Safe to say it’s a vivid experience and 0-200mph in 10.3 seconds feels very believable.

The 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata is small, lightweight and built around one thing: making driving fun.

In this full tour, I’m showing you the interior, technology, trunk space, convertible top and the performance features on this MX-5 Miata Club. Then, we’ll take it for a drive and talk about the engine, manual transmission and what makes the Miata feel so different from most new cars.
Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, although an automatic transmission is also available on select versions.
This Club model is also equipped with performance-focused features including Brembo front brakes, BBS wheels, Recaro sport seats and Alcantara interior trim.

- My ND2 is the third Miata I’ve owned (an NB and an NC preceded it). It’s certainly conceivable to daily one - and I see people in the comments that do - but it’s not advisable.
I’ve owned these three cars (in aggregate for 12+ years) and they’re terrific 2nd cars.
Think his prior car was a better all around fun car (GRC). A 2025 premium + w a manual is my daily to go with the Miata.
Also - the RF is good looking - but totally on team soft top. Don’t want wind buffeting, limiting my already limited visibility, and having a targa experience (vs a convertible experience) when the roof goes down.
- ust the usual stuff, Clutches x2 (last one because I had a front seal leak, so I did the clutch too) , Slave Master Cylinder x2, PVC Valve. I'm do for shocks, but my pocket book hasn't decided on Koni Sports or CoilOvers. My Heart wants Coilovers, by my wallet says differently lol.. I also stiffen the body suspension by repalcing Front and Rear Swaybars from Good-win Racing and upsized the tires to 215/45-17 (Way Better Handling) Had put on 225/45-17 but the unsprung weight was just too much, didn't like the feel driving in the city. HWY, no issue. But LOVE the 215's

- I bought my 2025 mx5 rf gt 6mt in december. i drove a 1994 jeep wrangler (cj sport?) - doors off, soft top down 10 months out of the year - for 24 years and obviously loved it. Zero bells and whistles duh, but what a fun drive if you like it that way (face it most people either love em or hate em). Then the dealership f*d it up and I didn't trust it, so I traded in on a 2020 corolla 6MT (had to have a manual) that i hated to drive. 5 years later with only 4200 miles, I traded in for this mx-5, practically on impulse/whim ($21k trade-in!). For all those years in the wrangler i swore i would never have a tiny little deathtrap car. but i wanted something i would want to drive, not dread getting in and out of the garage in my building.
This car is all that! Reviewers always hype the Club as the trim to go for (thanks Realisstick for the best GT and RF reviews!), but why? Sure you get a little extra 'performance' but not enough for track and none of the bells and whistles that make the GT so great. The leather seats are great. The dimming mirrors. The automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers. The automatic lights that swivel into a turn. The climate control. Programmable garage door opener (I can't use it)... NONE of that with the more expensive Club. For 'daily' or just plain city driving, the comfort beats the modest performance by far.
As for the RF vs softtop - I think it just looks much better. Soft top makes you look like you're sitting in a bucket. RF is sexy af! It's quieter. More secure. I have no issues with road or wind noise - sure it's there, but I can play music on the Bose system and hear just fine windows down and top open. Highway, just put the windows up, not that loud. Of course I'm 5'7" so my head isn't sticking way up in the air, and, well, i drove that wrangler for 24 years so lol what wind noise?!
Yes full front PPF and ceramic coat, tint - quality independent installation ran $3.5k (with generous tip, they did it right before xmas). I use ONR wash and opti-coat on the interior and glass. One spray bottle of ONR solution and 3-4 small microfiber towels does the whole car inside and out start to finish in under 30 minutes. No bucket needed. No one ever talks about that. (I do park it in a garage, so aside from what I pick up driving, doesn't get much but some old building ceiling dust.)
Yeah it's cramped, there's no cabin storage at all. Anything and everything will get thrown around - your phone, your water bottle, your clip on door opener, ... Tip: get some sticky mat (they sell a small 2-pack on amzn), cut to fit the cubby and your phone will stay there. Use a piece for anything you clip to the visor. Get a coozie to hold your water bottle in the holder... I keep a small backpack on the passenger floor with the usual stuff you would stuff into door pockets and so on. Not the best, but face it, how often do you have a passenger in this car?
About that, no one talks about the load limit - it's about 375 lbs. that's you, your stuff in the cabin/trunk, your passenger. So yeah, it's made for one person, two small people like me at most. Gives you the perfect excuse not to be able to give someone a ride. More than that you lose handling and performance and, well, exceed the rated load of the vehicle.
ATL summer heat/humidity - sure, the AC blasts and you can windows up top open drive but the sun will beat you down, so I wait for dusk or get out early for joyrides. For city traffic driving, close it up and crank the AC, it's still a blast to drive. Even w/ windshield heat reflective tint, it gets hot af parked in the sun very long. I got a snap shade windshield shade, makes a huge difference. Tho even without, the cabin is so small the AC will cool it down pretty fast.
I used to make every excuse not to drive the sad corolla stick. I look forward to any excuse to get behind the wheel of this car, and if I'm out and it's not rush hour, I find a way to take a 30 min 'detour' on random roads ;-)
As for issues: the only problem i've had so far is recurring key fob failures. Doesn't detect it in the car, so won't start until I fiddle around with it. Won't lock or unlock the doors, doesn't autolock when I walk away. Totally random, most of the time it works fine. I replaced the battery. Still happens at usually the worst possible time. So next service I will order a replacement.
Bottom line it is a blast to drive, esp on the twisted hilly roads when traffic is light. Yeah watch out for SUVs. I'm only 2000 miles in and still get an adrenaline spike when i rev it up and zoom around, feeling like your doing 90 when you're only doing 40. zoom zoom

- The 36 or 30 MPG confuses me. I'm from Sweden where we don't use that, we use liters per 100km instead. If the search gives me the correct answer, 36 MPG is the same as about 6.5 liters per 100 km. And 30 MPG would be 7.8 liters. That sounds really strange, since my ND2 (2021) with the big engine usually averages 6.2 L, sometimes even less if it's mostly highway or country roads. Does anyone know why this is? Is the fuel different in North American and Europe? But that would be weird since it would indicate less petrol in the US fuel, whereas with carbon EU rules I would expect it to be the opposite if anything...

If you look at sales data, Crossover SUVs are becoming increasingly popular compared to B-segment hatchbacks because they cost the same but you’re getting more space and better ground clearance, which means that the SUV will go to places where a hatchback can’t. 💯

Most South Africans don’t need extreme off-roading vehicles but they do need decent ground clearance to be able to go on a bush getaway occasionally or visit home in the villages. Thanks man. 👊

- Shape is a bit oblong and only the dark Grey gives it a little street cred. The grand vitara looks a little more beefier. They should of kept the same with this car. Maybe taken the rear of the fronx and slightly sharper lines would of made it look a lot more aggressive and premium

- I have the GL Manual and it's a great drive. I had to be realistic about power expectations, having traded my SX4 2.0L in for this. However, having driven it around town a lot, plus a round trip between Knysna and Cape Town, I can report that it's really easy to drive if you're prepared to use the gear box. There are hills where you might want more power but I haven't regretted this purchase. The features and comfort are so worth it. If you're worried about power, get the MT as the auto gearbox is definitely set for economy over response. I'm getting around 5.7L/100km average on the computer, which is probably a little lower than actual but it's very fuel efficient and the stop/start is smooth as anything. If this is around your budget, go on and spoil yourself with comfort and reliability!

After months of speculation and rumors and waiting, Ford finally revealed their latest mustang, and the overall response was... not good.
The dark horse SC is like if ford took the Dark Horse, the GTD and the GT500, took away all the qualities we love about these 3 cars, and then just crammed what was left over into 1 car.
We love the dark horse because it has a naturally aspirated engine and a manual transmission, we love the GTD because of it's over the top aerodynamics. hypercar technology and otherworldly exhaust note, and we love the GT500, because of Ford and Shelby's rich heritage and racing history, and because of the badging and stripes and symbols. And ford took all of that away and gave us the Dark Horse SC.
Now after reading all the comments about the SC, it's clear that most everyone shares the same frustrations, and the first one, is the name. I figure it's just a name what difference does it make, but as it turns out, people really like driving cars called the Cobra and the Boss and the GT500, and if you think about it, those names have been big sellers for over 60 years, the name dark horse, not so much. And I'm not sure how much Ford would have had to pay to use the GT500 and Cobra names, but they should have done it, because this is the response they've been getting.

And in response to the uproar about ditching Shelby on this car, Ford gave us a weak ass excuse about doing it because they wanted to advance the Ford Racing brand.
The next biggest frustration amongst mustang fans is one that I completely agree with, and that is the lack of a manual transmission. And this pissed a lot of people off, I mean it really pissed a whole bunch of people off.
The front end of the car has also proven to be a sore spot for Mustang fans. And if you look at this thing and see a Chevy camaro, you're not alone.
And that rotary dial that Ford added to the interior hasn't been winning over many people either.

And Ford even pissed off non- mustang fans with the Dark Horse SC, because about two months before the Ford racing reveal event, Ford said they would be revealing, and I quote, a new road legal sports car*. Now the term road legal sports car implies that a car is so high performance, it's essentially a race car that had to be toned down so it could be driven on the street without being impounded. *No one in their right mind would ever use the term "road legal sports car" to describe a Mustang. Hell, most people wouldn't even use the term sports car to describe a mustang.

So when Ford said this, people were expecting something more along the lines of a new GT, or something that was specifically built to take on the Corvette ZR1, and a lot of these people eagerly awaited the big reveal. So when everyone who was expecting something more like *this*, ended up getting *this*, it didn't go over well.

But if you think people are mad about the Dark Horse SC now, wait till they see the price.

Ford has gone out of their way to keep the price a secret, and there's a reason for that. Much like the GTD, the dark horse SC was not designed for the Mustang fanbase. And we know this because Ford is offering the new mustang with several high dollar options that were made specifically for the exotic car crowd, like the Carbon Fibre package, the Teal accent package, and the Track Package Special Edition. These are the kind of things that Bently and Lamborghini people are excited to spend money on, not Mustang people. Mustang people want lots of horsepower and manual transmissions, not teal accents. Seriously Ford, a teal accent package!? Plus, this car is covered in carbon fiber and features 3D printed interior components. This is lamborghini shit, not Ford Mustang shit. So we know this car is not aimed at people looking to spend 60 or 70 or even 90 thousand dollars on a car.

At minimum the base price plus dealership markups will be 1 hundred and 25 thousand dollars, at minimum. But here's the thing, the dealerships won't be looking to sell this car to the people who just want to pay the 125k and be done with it, because the dark horse SC was designed specifically for the premium market, where people feel like they need to purchase a car fully optioned, I'm talking about people who feel embarrassed to show up to an event in a car that isn't specced with the most expensive options, the kind of people who are afraid of being judged for not getting the 10 thousand dollar carbon fibre aerodynamics package, even though they'll never track their car. And these people are willing to spend well into the 6 figures on a car, and that is who Ford is targeting with the dark horse SC. So the dealerships aren't going to waste their time selling this limited edition car to someone who wants to spend 1 hundred and 25 thousand dollars on it, when they know that exotic car owners out there are willing to pay twice that.

Tablets everywhere electric parking break recalls and a it was slower than the 2019 gt pp1 i bought for 43,000.and worst of all cars sitting on lots for 500 days... I'm 30 i drove a regular dark horse with the track pak 10speed and it was nowhere near as fast or fun as the 2019 pp1 so instead I bought a used roush with 9,000 mi for 48,000$ from a non Ford dealer. I was going to buy a expedition but now no and I will probably sell the roush and get something you don't make like a alfa or a Toyota at least thay try. doesn't matter your not going to respond anyway.. oh look another hundred thousand dollar mustang i will just get a corvette.

The Recon uses a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive layout producing 650 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque. A 100 kWh battery and a rear locking differential comes standard. All trims besides the Moab get a range of 250 miles, the Moab gets a range of 230 miles. The battery of the Recon uses nickel manganese cobalt chemistry. It also uses a 400-volt architecture

Moab-exclusive features
The Moab trim has an electronic locking differential at the rear with 15:1 final drive ratio. The front differential is still an open differential. The locker is activated by a switch on the dashboard. Jeep's Selec-Terrain management system has a Rock mode exclusive to the Moab

Moab trim
The Moab trim uses most design elements used by the regular Recon. However it comes with wider fender flares, available rock rails, and Jeep badges with topographical etching.

Design and features
The exterior uses an illuminated seven-slot grille, Wrangler-like square protruding taillights, bumpers with prominent tow hooks, and a swing-out tailgate carrying a standard full-size spare. Standard equipment is projected to include removable doors and a dual-pane power-opening sunroof, with an available Sky One-Touch Power Top. The Recon uses a frame-like design for the tiered center console and prominent grab handles with exposed rivets. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 14.5-inch central touchscreen are standard with on-screen climate controls complemented by volume and tuning knobs.

Production and release
The Recon is scheduled for production at the Toluca Car Assembly plant in Toluca, Mexico, with manufacturing commencing in 2026 ahead of its arrival at North American dealerships on June 26, 2026,to be followed by other regions. Although Auto Express reported later that month that the Recon and Wagoneer S would no longer be sold in Europe as planned, Jeep later confirmed its plans to bring the Recon to Europe in 2027.

The Jeep Recon is a battery electric mid-size SUV that entered the market in early 2026. Presented in a set of images in September 2022 alongside two other Jeep models, it is an off-road-oriented SUV that is heavily inspired by the Wrangler, and will be sold alongside it. A Wrangler variant was previously marketed as the Recon.

The Recon is based on Stellantis' STLA Large platform, with fully independent suspension. The vehicle will have removable doors, retractable roof, electronic locking differentials, Selec-Terrain traction management functions, skid plates, tow hooks, off-road-rated tires, and underbody protection. It will be produced in North America and will be available for the global market.

- It looks like a mashup of a Wrangler and a Compass. Not that appealing. I think they were going for a small hummer, but it feels kind of confused. Also, why would you bother designing all those capabilities like approach and departure angle, only to give it church bus wheels and tires? Weak sauce. - Well Sir......Why was the extended cab Gladiator dropped? Not everyone wanted or needed a dam 4dr. A little more bed, a little less cab was a real Jeep first. So I just walked away from my favorite brand because "somebody" wasn't interested. I sold Jeep in 1973 to 1977. Sold a ton and folks loved them....and it wasn't priced like an entry level Ferrari. - put an engine in it and I will want a blue one like the press release in 2025 in the woods with all terrain tires and top and doors off. I love it. id even like it with the new grand cherokee 4 cylinder in it. I cant afford one anyways. id have to wait ten years to get a used one. a 1989 yj was $8995 new with 7 year warranty now the 4 door rubicon wrangler I like is ten times that price.

1. Start your journey at home.

like some sort of mad science experiment. But regenerative braking-sometimes shortened to just "regen braking"-is a simple, intuitive process in electrified vehicles that allows them to recharge their batteries as they're driven by harnessing the energy from stopping. It's a key piece of EV technology and helps extend an EV's driving range. How does that work, you ask? Let us explain it to you.

So, What Exactly Is Regenerative Braking?
A regenerative braking system takes the stopping power from your brakes and turns it into electric energy. This results in regenerative braking efficiency by harnessing the natural power of stopping rather than letting it get wasted as heat. Think of it like wind turbines, or a treadmill that turns on when you run on it, or a mouse running on a wheel that powers your blender. You have one of those, right?

How Regenerative Braking Works in EVs and Hybrids
Scientifically, regenerative braking is a simple three-step process:
Your brakes create kinetic energy when you stop.

IF someone is "all sweaty and covered in sunblock," chances are they're gonna AT LEAST wipe their hands off good with a rag before getting in and touching all over their BRAND NEW, $65,000+ vehicle... Screens are also cheaper and easier to replace than a bunch of buttons. They're cheaper and easier to program and customize for each vehicle as well. Instead of having to make 4 different molds for a defrost button for 4 different vehicles. They just use a screen. It saves MASSIVE amounts of money. The issue is that those savings just aren't passed on to the consumer. You wanna be mad about that. I fully support you.

- Gen X here doing mental gymnastics: He forgot to mention the two points that made me avoid a Tesla when shopping for our electric car: distraction (with a knob on my car I can adjust the fan speed and temperature without taking my eyes off the road ), and control when bouncing on rough pavement. I can't accurately hit the small icon on a smooth shiny glass screen to change the Sirius XM channel when I'm bouncing on a potholed road, imagine trying to do that when off-roading in a Jeep. Oops! I meant to turn down the AC but instead I turned on my seat heater to high? Yeah, shiny touchscreens already suck for normal driving, and they'd suck twice as much in a vehicle on rough/rugged terrain. It's like the designers at Jeep never drive off-road?

- well at least you're honest that you're doing the mental gymnastics thing. Y'all act like you're driving down the road CONSTANTLY adjusting your ac or something and that if you aren't able to adjust something right when you want to. You'll die instantly. I promise. You won't. You set the ac to one temp and forget it 90% of the time. For that 10%, idk why people reach for things when it's bumpy anyways. Buttons or not, you can still hit something you didn't mean to hit. Radio stations are easy, set your favorites and bam. Still only takes one press. If you OWN the vehicle. Chances are you'll rather quickly build muscle memory to where the things are on the screen JUST LIKE you would with regular buttons. Going from a button to a screen doesn't change how muscle memory works. So yes. You are doing mental gymnastics.

- The most disappointing aspect of the new Jeep Recon is not its anemic mileage but the fact that it is owned and manufactured by Stellantis. Until a solid, viable manufacturer can acquire the Jeep brand and bring some long-term reliability and dependability at a reasonable price, it will continue to spiral downward until it disappears altogether.

- Everybody loves their Wranglers until their first "Death Wobble" experience (avoidable with attentive maintenance), then they want something with more "Modern" suspension and will sacrifice some off-roading ability for day-to-day comfort. This fits the bill nicely, but the cost and logistics of EV lifestyle is going to be a tough sell to "true" Jeep fans. The European Jeep Avenger is a more compelling solution - smaller, sportier and more Wrangler-esque for the weekend adventure set (Subaru owners would be very interested in that model).

- It is perhaps going to be more expensive than the R2 - but hard to say as frankly the version of the R2 that will compare will cost around $60k (the cheap version of the R2 likely will take 6 months or so before it hits the market. I do like the Scout a bit better from the videos I have seen, but we will need to see it in person, and that is going to be 2028 when it hits the market. Generally speaking Jeep did a great job in the design - I hope it drives well and has significantly less glitches / problems than STellantis' other electric vehicles (if it doesn't then it is clearly the case of lots of cool lipstick on a pig of a vehicle - hopefully that isn't the case as I think this offers a unique option for buyers to consider (if they have the coin)).

- It’s clearly an attempt at a direct hit on the Bronco. Couple of things - must have a gas engine. Must have factory 33s and a factory lift. Then you may erode some of the surging Bronco sales numbers.

- Firstly this a great design, and the idea of an EV Jeep in the mold generally of the wrangler & renegade is quite tempting but the elephant in the room needs to be addressed before they proceed to release this upon the US Market.
Stellantis' marketing department is really is not applying critical thinking skills to the U.S. market if they thought it would be good optics to release this vehicle while dealing with the 4th recall for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.
Owners have to park them outside and away from parking structures but they think that the same market would have any interest in a fully electric SUV from the same brand??
This will also be an SUV that will land on average around the 60k range which in the EV market will drive people right into the waiting arms of the Rivian R2.
At this point it's either delusion or intentional malfeasance to destroy the brand, because this really lacks any real logic.
Jeep deserves better & hopefully this battery architecture isn't related to the horrid systems used in other stellantis/jeep vehicles.Firstly this a great design, and the idea of an EV Jeep in the mold generally of the wrangler & renegade is quite tempting but the elephant in the room needs to be addressed before they proceed to release this upon the US Market.

- Rivian R2 and R3 will crush this. The low range is what will kill it. Jeep enthusiasts will stick with combustion engines for off roading, EV people are more interested in range so they will look to Rivian. They missed on this one.

- As someone who works in sales at a Jeep store, this is another miss from Stellantis. Hardly anyone comes to my store asking for an Ev/ hybrid vehicle especially now that the tax credit is gone. We need AFFORDABLE, gas vehicles to actually compete. This design is beautiful, but full EV to start is a miss.

- It's not a bad concept. I actually like the jeep. however, the range of the vehicle is laughable. Also I think it's a big mistake going fully EV on this particular model for what it is. They should have done a hybrid or with an option V6 for those who want to use this to travel and off-road. If the range was at LEAST 300mi then I'll consider it. Till then, no. Im keeping my 2018 grand Cherokee overland.

- The car is amazing BUT THE RANGE.... what are you doing Stellantis?? By the time someone get out of the city they won't have the range to enjoy and come back. To sell a car like this with less than 320 mile range is a huge huge miss. Under 250 is a deal breaker non-negotiable. but the design team and interior team did a great job. The powertrain team screwed up big time. Nobody asked for 600+ hp - big miss by making it more inefficient

Designed at the Acura Design California studio in Los Angeles under the guidance of Yasutake Tsuchida, the new Acura Creative Director and Vice President of Auto Design, the NEXERA Vision will influence the styling of future Acura models, beginning with the 4th-generation RDX Hybrid arriving in the coming years.

Acura NEXERA Vision Exterior Design Delivers Visual Exhilaration
Demonstrating Acura's commitment to performance, the NEXERA Vision combines timeless design and proportion to deliver visual exhilaration with dramatic dual-hinge butterfly doors, active aerodynamics and a distinctive new lighting signature. Finished in Matte Titanium, a sleek exterior color with arresting metallic depth, the NEXERA Vision has a striking profile defined by its wide, powerful stance, long dash-to-axle ratio and one-motion cabin.

The Acura NEXERA Vision exudes confidence and high-performance capability through sculpted muscular surfaces and an aero-channel fascia. An active rear spoiler manages airflow across the rear decklid to enhance aerodynamic efficiency, high-speed stability and braking performance. The coupe's dual-hinge butterfly doors create a bold, dramatic entry, expressing Acura performance DNA from the first interaction.

- Since it's designed by Tsuchida, formerly of Mazda, the surface design and the placement of the tires and cabin definitely have a Mazda feel to them. It's probably impossible because of their capital alliance with Toyota, but I'd love to see a Mazda version of this.

- It's a nice design language. Quite organic looking. Let's see how this will translate into a crossover or SUV, since this actually is the only thing we can expect from Acura these days.

- I've always said that Acura needed to change its lame name, its lame clothespin-like logo, and its lame design, and that it should be announced by a chief designer with great fanfare, like Toyota and Lexus. I'm glad that at least the design has finally been revamped.

I hope they'll get serious about it like Lexus. The concept of Phantom Lighting is fantastic. Toyota has made the Century an independent brand, but Honda could create a third brand too.

- I know this will get hate, but I gotta say it...the headlight/tail light shapes are cool and ownable, but everything else feels derivative (Tesla side, Dodge/Ferrari nose inlet, Nissan Z shape and size). Not sure A C U R A and H O N D A spelled out now give a ton of differentiation between brands. If A C U R A can actually make luxury and performance a notch above Honda, then maybe it'll be lasting. This just feels like an Acura 300ZX. It's a concept probably to get investors and the market hopeful for the brand, but only time will tell.

- Better not be $250k. By building an attainable mid-engine sports car, Corvette literally destroyed the previous NSX using Acura/Honda's own business model from the first gen NSX. The business brilliance of the Corvette is providing customers multiple variants, from simple straight-forward inexpensive to ultra-high-end high-margin versions. Acura could have done the same thing with the second gen NSX and mind-boggingly just allowed Corvette to steal their market share. Why on earth didn't you provide a $100k version with a VTEC V6 and rear-drive?? You better get it right this time! The Acura/Honda brand is now an SUV brand selling baby buggies. No one is going to pay even $130k for an Acura just because you think it's great. You have to earn back the good will with the serious enthusiasts.

Now the foul language starts because you have to correct what you didn't mean select and/or hit the back button. How does this trend continue to grow with the loss of even more buttons on subsequent updates, when I haven't actually heard ANYONE say they prefer stabbing a screen and hope for the best.

- Expensive, with outdated EV technology, from a company who's currently line of EVs are prone to fires, not only are they prone to fire, there is a chance it can catch on fire if simple maintenance isn't done properly 😂

- Not trying to be a hater but.....Whoever designed this and approved this needs their employment evaluated.
1. It's not "cool" looking at all (But that's subjective)
2. Range is not good
3. Those door brackets WILL 100% catch/contact something on a trail (Think trees, bushes, or rocks) So say goodbye to having a door on any single one that takes damage
4. 6,000 lbs. on a trail should be interesting. Especially coming down an obstacle or mud.
5. Looks like Wrangler is the only true "off roader" in their lineup.

- No, physical controls are NOT "just better." Boomers, Gen X, and early Millennials will do the MOST mental gymnastics to try to justify why they think buttons are better. IF someone is "all sweaty and covered in sunblock," chances are they're gonna AT LEAST wipe their hands off good with a rag before getting in and touching all over their BRAND NEW, $65,000+ vehicle... Screens are also cheaper and easier to replace than a bunch of buttons. They're cheaper and easier to program and customize for each vehicle as well. Instead of having to make 4 different molds for a defrost button for 4 different vehicles. They just use a screen. It saves MASSIVE amounts of money. The issue is that those savings just aren't passed on to the consumer. You wanna be mad about that. I fully support you.

- Gen X here doing mental gymnastics: He forgot to mention the two points that made me avoid a Tesla when shopping for our electric car: distraction (with a knob on my car I can adjust the fan speed and temperature without taking my eyes off the road ), and control when bouncing on rough pavement. I can't accurately hit the small icon on a smooth shiny glass screen to change the Sirius XM channel when I'm bouncing on a potholed road, imagine trying to do that when off-roading in a Jeep. Oops! I meant to turn down the AC but instead I turned on my seat heater to high? Yeah, shiny touchscreens already suck for normal driving, and they'd suck twice as much in a vehicle on rough/rugged terrain. It's like the designers at Jeep never drive off-road?

- well at least you're honest that you're doing the mental gymnastics thing. Y'all act like you're driving down the road CONSTANTLY adjusting your ac or something and that if you aren't able to adjust something right when you want to. You'll die instantly. I promise. You won't. You set the ac to one temp and forget it 90% of the time. For that 10%, idk why people reach for things when it's bumpy anyways. Buttons or not, you can still hit something you didn't mean to hit. Radio stations are easy, set your favorites and bam. Still only takes one press. If you OWN the vehicle. Chances are you'll rather quickly build muscle memory to where the things are on the screen JUST LIKE you would with regular buttons. Going from a button to a screen doesn't change how muscle memory works. So yes. You are doing mental gymnastics.

- The screen is a full touch screen on Apple Car Play. On the GT is wireless, on the others is wired Apple Car Play. There’s also more storage cubbyholes behind the seats.

- Bought the RF Club in 2023 in SWPM. Best car I've ever owned, the most fun, I love it more every single day. 10/10 would buy again!

- I have a 2024 MT soft top GT and love this car. The infotainment screen is a touchscreen when you are using Apple CarPlay or android auto. Also, the GT has the same Bilstein shocks and LSD as the Club so the Club is only more track focused with the $5k BBS wheel, Recaro, front only Brembo package. And you lose a crap ton of equipment if you don’t buy the GT; therefore, don’t be stupid and buy anything other than the GT.

While the Urus is a track-focused weapon and the Cullinan is a literal palace on wheels, the Bentayga Speed tries to occupy the sweet spot in the middle. But does it offer enough for you to choose it over its rivals? Let's take a closer look...

At first glance, you might think not much has changed because it shares the same iconic body, grille, and bonnet as the previous model. However, the Speed hallmarks appear upon closer inspection. To differentiate it from the standard V8, Bentley has swapped out the traditional chrome for a sleek, blacked-out trim across the exterior. This model also marks the first time you can spec massive 23” alloy wheels that fill the arches perfectly. Our test car even features the optional carbon fibre side skirts, a chunky roof spoiler, and a vocal Akrapovič exhaust system!

Bentley continues to set the bar for cabin quality, and every single element you touch feels expensive - we couldn't even find any wonky stitching! The cabin is a masterclass in textures, blending high-end Leather and Alcantara with stunning wood trim. While the digital dials look great and modern, Bentley has wisely kept physical dials for the climate control, making it far easier to use on the move than its touch-screen-only rivals. The infotainment system is also intuitive enough to ensure the tech never gets in the way of the luxury.

The biggest news for the new Bentayga Speed is under the bonnet, where the legendary 6-litre W12 has been replaced by a downsized 4-litre V8. Interestingly, Bentley has avoided adding any hybrid power here, keeping it as a pure internal combustion engine producing 650hp and 850Nm of torque. Even though it has lost four cylinders, it has not lost its punch. It is now lighter over the front end, making it feel more agile than ever, while the Akrapovič exhaust ensures it sounds just as mean as the old twelve-cylinder.

All of this luxury comes with a high price tag. While the standard Bentayga starts at £172,600, the Speed model featured in this video comes in at a cool £290,295 thanks to a staggering £70,000 worth of options! But is it the smart choice over its close rivals? Stick around and see for yourself!

- Looking through the latest Bentley SUV videos to see what was being tested out of the factory in Crewe yesterday afternoon it wasn’t a Bentayga size but closer to a Porsche Macan ? Guess it’ll become clearer later once they take it out of camo mode

- Basically the same as the Cayenne GT. I guess those who want a luxe GT SUV will go for the Bentayga, but those more sportily inclined, will go for the Cayenne GT. And save themselves nearly 100,000 pounds.

- Again the 1% get to murder the planet for fun, while the 99% plebs get told they're evil for murdering the planet and told they have to drive electric and hybrid shit shows. Nice, thanks for reminding us of where we belong.

- Never had a second thought about Bentley until one parked next to me at BM of all places. Not usually where Bentayga’s frequent. Without being stereotypical, the couple that got out looked like characters from Snatch. I had a quick look through the side window and was blown away by the interior. I really did take a fancy to it. Maybe one day, with a couple of dags in the back.

- I know we can be happy to see automakers still making awesome-sounding V8 performance cars, but Bentley's luxury SUV would be actually better suited to be fully electric or just ordinary, not an overpowered plug-in hybrid for wafting along the roads! Call me crazy but what happened to the days manufacturers used to actually make their own cars and not just sell reskinned models from the parent group. Hold on to your pitchforks a minute folks let me finish I know very well just as you do the benefits of such a business model and platform sharing to the car world and how it is enabling company A to fund crazy projects and company B to keep making big engine cars and company C to keep the lights on etc etc but a long time ago there was a bit of competition yunno a bit of individuality……..now we’re ending up with 3/4/5 rebadged retuned reskinned examples of the same car…..I’m not complaining but I’m just sad that car manufactures have stopped being forced to push innovation and creativity to the highest level due to wanting to beat the completion resulting in some mind blowing cars in the past to now where everything just feels almost the same partly because 50% of it is and yes I do think this Bentley is very nice

- It’s wonderful how they get to convince and provide normal daily workers / employees Hybrids and EVs while the riches get v8-w16, private jets, (I know minority are rich) still not fair to blame it on people who made them rich in the first place! Well done humanity 🥂
