Shindig is the latest magazine to have a Alice Cooper front cover but this one is a little different as it focuses on ‘Love It To Death’, although ‘Revenge…’ is, of course, mentioned with quotes from all the original band and Bob Ezrin.

Ex-Alice guitarist Orianthi has announced what I think is her first ever full UK headline tour. She will be playing 6 shows in the UK next January/February and the dates are below. Both normal and VIP tickets are available now.

While Alice was in Brazil a couple of weeks ago he and Shep Gordon took part in a joint interview/press event and you can watch it all now on YouTube. The important bits are all in English.

“I have just received some terrible news which was verified by Monica Lauer: Our friend Dick Christian passed away on Monday.
For those of you who didn’t know who Dick was, he was the Spiders, Nazz and Alice Cooper’s Business manager, Road manager, Record producer, Booking agent, chauffeur, psychologist, cook and most important of all, friend. He was one unique individual. He was part of the glue that held the bands together. The Spiders always had a knack for picking good people to take along with them on their journey, and he was one of the best.
He will be missed.”

Dennis Dunaway posted the following:
“Dick Christian urged the band to push the boundaries. He was always focused on the future of the band and of the world. Whenever we were brainstorming ideas, Dick would write everything down and then we would all decide if the ideas were practical and affordable, which most were not. He was a valuable friend and will be missed.”

However there appears to be a different version available which features the same issue of the magazine, with an Alice Cooper cover, and the addition of the "smart poster" that came out last month. The Goon Squad (Roxie, Chuck, Tommy and Glen) will play a club show at Major Seven in Athens on July 9th, two days before Alice plays the Rockwave Festival.
Before that the Greek Alice Cooper Fan Club are hosting a ‘pre-show party’ tomorrow, June 21st, at the Xrysostomio Rock Bar in Athens. Admission is free and the event begins at 9pm. Expect Alice Cooper DJ sets, prizes and good company.

Legendary guitarist Rick Derringer, who played on the ‘Killer’ album including the solo on ‘Under My Wheels’, has passed away on May 27th at the age of 77. As a member of the McCoys, he achieved fame with hits like ‘Hang On Sloopy’ and went on to work with a number of artists including Steely Dan, Kiss, Weird Al, Cyndi Lauper, and Barabra Streisand, as well as writing hits like ‘Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo’ and ‘Real American’.

Dennis Dunaway joined Alice and the band for ‘School’s Out’ at the Mohegan Sun Arena show on May 23rd. As Dennis lives in the area this is far from the first time this has happened. You can see video here.

Dennis was also on ‘The Silver Screen‘ podcast last week talking about the band and the new group album ‘The Revenge of Alice Cooper’.

Alice Cooper has been nominated for the Museum of Broadcast Communications ‘Hall of Fame’ for his work on radio including his current show ‘Alice’s Attic’. Voting runs between May 27th and June 16th and is voted on by nearly 1000 industry members, The results should be announced in late June.
