Packing the BEST Disney park bag

What you bring into the park on your next Disney adventure will make or break your trip! Being a season park hopper, your girl is about to deliver the do's and don'ts of what to put in your bag.

Let's start with picking a backpack! Of course, you'll want to pick something cute and "Insta worthy" but let's be real.. Florida is hot. Having the cutest backpack might not be ideal when you've got to carry this on your back all day in the heat! My go to pick is something light weight and has supporting straps so your back doesn't break mid trip!

Now that you've got your light weight backpack picked out.. let's start packing it! The key is to pack light. The lighter the better really. Remember, it's hot. Something that I always have on me, is hand sanitizer! Now, without taking up space inside your bag, get a portable hand sanitizer holder to stick on one of your straps. Ideally Disney theme, duh!

Since we are on the subject of being clean.. you'll most definitely need wipes. I like to keep on hand a pack of Wet Ones just in case! Now I know since we have hand sanitizer already strapped to our backs.. there are just some messes that wipes will handle better. Just imagine you're sitting on the curb of Main Street U.S.A eating your Mickey head shaped ice cream and don don don, it starts dripping! Ya'll these Wet Ones will be your BFF!

Now, before I move onto anything else.. to help make more room in your bag, ziplock baggies will also be your BFF! Separating your items by specific needs in ziplock bags will help not only create more space in your bag, but help keep you organized.

Okay, moving on! Ya'll know I can't go anywhere without my tissues.. So I most definitely throw about two small packs into my bag. Adding to that make sure you pack some chapstick, sunscreen, deodorant, Advil, TUMS (or Pepto!) and hair scrunchies. You can easily find these in small sizes in the travel section of your local grocery store.

So fun fact, Disney has water stations for you to fill up your bottles. So starting right now, you will never need to spend $4.00 on a water bottle again! Now you're probably thinking your water bottle will be super heavy for your bag right? Wrong! Ya'll these collapsible water bottles are brilliant. They are light weight and when you're done with them, squish them up and toss it in your bag!

Now, the very last thing that is a Disney bag must.. a charger! I don't know about ya'll but I take SO many pictures while I'm in Disney. You can't ever have enough pictures of Cinderella's castle!

I always keep this little guy in my bag just in case your phone decides it's over the heat! It's so small that you can fit it really anywhere in your backpack.

Style Three Way Red Skirt

Happy Tuesday friends! I had such a lazy day off and it was much needed. I caught up on laundry.. yet again. Does anyone else feel like all they do is "catch up" on laundry? I'm only one person and I collect so much of it! The adult thing for me to do is to designate certain days to doing it, but let's be real.. I'm still learning how to adult. (lol)

I recently purchased the cutest red skirt from J.Crew Factory, and let me tell you.. it's a statement! I wasn't totally sure how to go about styling this because it's totally out of my comfort zone but I went for the challenge!

First look is how to style it casually.

I paired it with a super cute chambray top with a v-neck sweater tank underneath.

Second look is a total date night look!

I loved this one, mainly because of the pop of cheetah print at the bottom.

The third look I would recommend wearing to work..

also perfect outfit for those days where mother nature doesn't know what to do with herself!

As you can see, the possibilities are endless! I was super surprised to see what I had in my closet that would make this skirt a staple piece in my closet. Even though I had more to wear with it than I thought, I did return it. Whomp, whomp. As much as I loved the skirt, it was totally out of my comfort zone and deep down I knew it would be one of those items that would sit in my closet forever with the tag on (I know I'm not the only one!) However, if they come out with a darker color of this skirt, I will be first in line because the silhouette is gorgeous!

Zippin' Up The Latest Trend!

Hey friends!

You know what the most difficult thing about making a new post is? Figuring out how to start it! If you've been following me for a while, you know my first sentence is always "Sorry it's been a while since I last posted". I'll try my best to think of something more creative next time..

Any who, if you haven't picked up on the latest trend, backpacks are in! I was totally hesitant about hopping on the bandwagon because the first thing I thought to myself was "Do I look like I'm back in school?!" Well, 1. I kind of wish I was! and 2. Yes, I totally look like a school kid. But you know what? I look like a totally fashionable school kid!

It took me a while to figure out what type of backpack I wanted to invest in, and naturally I went straight to Kate Spade first. Made the mistake of not going to the outlet, and going right to the full price store.. whamp whamp! Ya girl was totally not spending $300 on something I'll be throwing around on the floor 99% of the time. Plus, I wanted to share something more affordable and in everyone's price range!

However.. If you're in the market to splurge a little, I did find something super similar to the bag I got at Target. I haven't done one of these in forever.. but here is a Target vs. Madewell Splurge and Save! I absolutely love doing these, and I am currently in the works on doing another one! Finding dupes are my favorite, it's so fun to see how you can get the same thing (or similar) in such a significantly different price range.

Girlfriend Jeans 3 Different Ways

Happy Friday ya'll! If you missed my most recent Instagram story, I finally caved and made myself some business cards! Since I view this blog as a "small business" it was time to start investing in it. I am so excited to give my cards out to companies in the DFW area and start collaborating!

Our topic of the day is all about the Girlfriend jeans! At work the most common statement I get is "I can't wear girlfriend jeans", "They don't fit me right". Well, I'm here to tell you, YOU can wear them! I was literally in that same boat. Even when I was working out, and in really good shape, I still struggled to find a good pair of girlfriend jeans. I tried pretty much every brand I could get myself into, and was totally not loving any of it. Finally, at work we received a box of shipment and behold.. GF jeans! You bet I pulled my sized and tried them on right away! I currently am a size 10/12 and I purchased a 10 in these. They have a ton of stretch and they fall right below the belly button. I am totally self cautious of my thighs with light color denim, but these are the perfect shade. (You'll rarely ever see me in light denim)

Now, another big statement that I get a lot is.. "How do I wear them? They're so casual!" Yup, you're totally right! They definitely are more casual then your dark denim, and a little bit more challenging to style! But don't worry, I styled them three different ways for you so on your next outing you totally know what to pair them with!

First look: Work

Since working at Ann Taylor Factory, I pretty much can give you a run down of what women are wearing in the corporate world, and many companies are going casual! That means jeans on casual Fridays! For your work look, I paired the jeans with a mint blazer, a classic but chic pattern button up and a pair of nude heels. Wearing the heels will help elevate your work look.

Second look: Casual

Running errands? Don't worry I got you covered so you can still look good walking through the aisle's at Target! For this look, I paired it with a great versatile (light weight) kimono from Loft Outlet. Underneath I have a lavender knot tee to give it some extra detail. My shoes are last season Steve Madden sandals but I found an identical pair! To transition this look, I would add the nude heels to elevate it for going out.

Third look: Brunch

I just bought this striped jacket last week and while it's out of my comfort zone, I am totally all about it! I am cookin' up how to wear this three different ways as well, so stay tuned! I have a basic pink tank underneath with some pointed flats from J.Crew Factory to help pull the look together. I picked these items for going out to brunch because of how cute the jacket is! Fan of peplum? Look no further! A striped jacket can carry you season to season as well.

I am absolutely loving all three looks y'all! They all have my personality in them which is the most important thing, but I still deliver three different styles! What a fun challenge this was, I totally want to continue doing more! What else would you like to see me do three different ways?

Feb. Wrap Up!

Hey ya'll! So I have decided (as of yesterday) to start doing a monthly wrap up. What's that you might ask? Well.. a little bit of everything! I'll basically be giving you a rundown of how February went, my current loves and what's to come! So let's get started!

Life: So, if you recently started following me within the month you know I started February as a "no spend month." Yup, that lasted all of two weeks. However, looking on the bright side, that's two weeks better than last month! Phew, that was really hard ya'll let me tell you. Working in retail is a nightmare when you're trying to watch what you spend! I actually was doing really well until I had to buy items to travel to florida with. I've gained a lot of weight since last time I went back to the sunny state (lol life) and I needed a little refresh with summery items.. off to the Loft I went! I'll try harder this month (as I'm already prepping what I want to buy in my next floorset at work)

Clothing: So you're probably asking.. what did you buy?! Well.. Here's a little sneak peak of a few things!

As you can tell, I stuck to a very basic minimalistic look this time around! I can't wait to share with ya'll the looks I put together with all of these!

Beauty: Okay, okay, you know I am totally NOT a beauty guru, and I am totally lucky if I remember to put on make up in the morning but.. I found an under-eye oil that I am currently obsessed with! I have terrible dark circles under my eyes (lack of sleep & not drinking enough) and somehow I miraculously remember to put this on when I wake up and before I go to bed! Wishful thinking is it'll cure my bags lol. I picked this tiny gem in (believe it or not) TJ Maxx! So far, I have noticed it has hydrated under my eyes, and made my skin smoother! I'll give ya'll another update in March to see how its working! It's from SkinLab, and I searched for a good half hour on the web trying to find it.. It was available at one point on Amazon, but like I said, I came across it at TJ Maxx!

Travels: For Valentine's day, I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to New York City! He's never been before, and ya'll know if I won the lottery I'd be on the next flight to Laguardia looking for an apartment in the Upper East Side. We'll be staying at the Standard hotel along the High Line. I can't wait to blog about our experience there! We'll be heading there in July, and in April we will be heading to Disney! I recently did a poll on my Insta story and ya'll said I should do a Disney post.. so it's currently in the works! So excited to share it with everyone, so stay tuned!

Welcome to my apartment..

Hey ya'll! This post has been a work in progress, but it's finally here! I am so excited to share with you my apartment. I have been living here since October 2017, and renewed it for another year because I love it so much! When I tell people I live in Frisco, and I commute to Grapevine they say "you're crazy!" But living here makes my crazy traffic commute SO worth it.

One of the reasons I picked this apartment was because of the amazing natural light I get during the day. I have always been a sucker for ceiling to floor windows, and this was the closest I could find! (And if you're wondering, I was totally watching the Ted Bundy tapes on Netflix)

My coffee table you see is from Wayfair, unfortunately I couldn't find the exact match but I found one super similar to it! If you can see the hanging light bulb in the corner, I purchased that from West Elm! Mine is a clear head, but the one still available has a solid head. I was so nervous at first when I put the lamp up because it hangs a little lower than I had expected, but putting in the corner was the right decision because it sits out of the way of where people sit.

(luckily no one hits their head, that often)

My original idea was to do a navy couch and make my apartment very nautical theme, BUT then I saw this couch in Nebraska Home Furniture and I was like I need this in my life.. I love 1960-70's home decor, but I wanted a little bit of a modern twist to it.

So I felt like the couch was such a good compromise.

I recently just created this little space in the corner by the window after the holidays. During christmas, this is where my tree actually goes! When I took it down I was SO upset and needed to fill in that empty space asap! So I found this cute little ladder from Target and threw a blanket over it my best friend made for me. The basket I believe I also got from Target!

And of course, living in Texas I had to get a cactus.

I found this 1940's type writer at a local flea market when I was living in Florida. I believe I purchased it for only $140! As you can tell, I really like throw back pieces!

My "bar" cart originally had a whole bunch of wine bottles on it. But, I am not really much of a drinker so they were kind of just collecting dust. You know what I do drink a lot of though? Coffee. So that's what I turned it into! I placed my coffee maker and my french press on the top and

created a little coffee spot!

I absolutely love the way it came out.

If I had room, I would add a little chair next to it to make a cute cozy hang out spot! I purchased the bar cart from World Market and it's currently still in stock, which is so awesome because it's way to cute to pass up!

Next up is my favorite spot. I had this random wall here and I was super unsure how to decorate it. I think some people might actually have their couches along this wall, but my couch is just a little to long.. so I went with a very basic table that I can store my records on! I believe I originally purchased this from Grandin Road, but World Market has one super similar to it without the bottom shelf. My rug believe it or not is from Target. I felt like the area was a little naked, but I didn't want another big rug, so I found this little guy and it fits perfectly in that spot. Luckily, that is still available online as well.

Next up is my pride and joy of the whole apartment. My circle mirror. 100% sure this was and still is the most expensive thing in my apartment. Every season, I put fairy lights on it that matches the current holiday. For valentine's day, I found this adorable pom pom garland from Target. But honestly, I might just keep this up from now on! I love the look of it, and it pretty much matches everything else. And if you are wondering, what are those little creatures that keep popping up in the pictures.. they are Annalee's! They are hand crafted little critters that you can find at HomeGoods, TJMaxx, Macy's and now Amazon! Back in the day, they used to be super expense (still kind of are) But if you are lucky, you can score a sweet deal when you go to a third party vendor!

And lastly, my apartment tour wouldn't be complete without a fresh bouquet of flowers! I try and keep fresh flowers weekly, all year long. You know what my favorite time of the year is though? Peony season! I absolutely love peonies.. most of the time I find them in either Trader Joe's or Whole Foods! They are super costly off season though, but so worth it! I recently started purchasing hydrangea's because they last a while and they create such a beautiful full look with only three actual flowers.

BFF Gift Guide

We are officially a few days into February! Who else thought January went by slower than ever?! Luckily, February is only a few short weeks so March here we come! I am ready to start wearing my open toe heels again. Boots season, I love you but my toes are ready to break free!

Now, just because you're single doesn't mean Valentine's Day has to be tough! I think it's a great day to celebrate the ones you surround yourself with, significant other or not. LOFT try on session

Hey ya'll! It's that time of day to show you my most recent try on's from the LOFT!

First we'll start with the denim jacket! I got a size Large for reference. It was a little big but the medium would have been really snug around my back. I'm in the middle with sizes quite often here, so my tip for you is to always go a little bigger!
You can always shrink things, you can't make things bigger. Underneath, I have the cutest long sleeve turtle neck! I tried on a size medium, but most definitely needed the large.

Below, is a striped soft open cardigan. I tried on a size medium, and underneath is the piped mixed media shell. I have a large on, highly recommend sizing down! It runs very big.

I absolutely adored this next item, the polka dot kimono! It comes in two sizes, xs/s & m/l. I have on the M/L for reference! The material is SO light weight, most defiantly the perfect layering piece for hot weather states. This is such a transition piece from season to season.

Next up is this adorable emerald green dress. I was super hesitant about trying on a dress since I carry most of my weight in my lower stomach, and most of the time the dresses always fall in an awkward spot. But, this one was SO flattering on! I have on a size 10 for reference. I am 5'7 and the dress hit right above the knees. I could totally wear this with flats or heels!

Lastly, the camo pants! I have had my eyes on these since they were released and I finally got my hands on them! Every time I went into one of my local LOFT's they were sold out in my size. I have on a size 10 for reference here. They are a little low rising, but other than that they fit perfectly everywhere! They are currently available online in all sizes.

This post was so much fun to do. I love sharing my try-ons with ya'll, it show's a different perspective on a different body & I think that's so important! What other stores would you like to see me do?

Taking Back Our $$$

Happiest of Tuesday y'all! If you caught my most recent Insta story you know I took off my NextGen nails and let me tell you.. it is SO hard to type. My nails keep bending and I'm pretty much typing with my finger tips at this point LOL. I decided to take the nails off and let my natural nails grow. I've always had issues with my nails.. they are always thin & brittle. I used to be so anti-getting my nails done (I used to think it was so "girly") but then it made me realize that it looked more professional at work because I wasn't dealing with cracked nail polish or out grown nails. So I took the plunge a year ago to start doing the NextGen and I loved it! But, putting in nearly 90 bucks in just getting my nails done every other week was becoming financially irresponsible, especially since I'm trying to save (sos someone help me!)

Speaking of saving, I recently downloaded an app called "Twine". The app connects with your bank account and once a month it takes out however much you want it too, and you can organize it into categories! I currently have a "rainy day" fund open where I put in $300 every month. So, by the time 2020 comes around, I'll save up to $10,000! 2019 is the year I stop being such a shopaholic & start becoming responsible with my money! I also have a "No spend February" challenge I am currently in the middle of working on.. who wants to join me?! #NoSpendFSS (No spend February Sarahstyled) that way we can see what everyone is up too the whole month and hold each other accountable. Dressing Up & Dressing Down

Hey ya'll! One of my goals for this upcoming year on the blog is to show you how to wear the same items different ways. I personally love the fact that most of the items in my closet are very versatile, so I can dress it up when I need to, and then wear it casual whenever! Now you're probably thinking.. How do I get started? Well, with the basics! My biggest tip for you is to fill your closet with easy pieces. Denim, black pants, chambray button up, something cheetah (a must!) plain striped tee, you name it! Just items that can easily transition you season to season.

For today's look, I picked my favorite tank from the Loft and a pair of denim jeans from Target. Believe it or not, Target has great clothes! They are high waisted which I l o v e.

This could be worn to work, or date night! Instead of flats, throw some heels on to elevate the look! I got a size 8 for reference on the blazer. It's a knit fabric so it fits so comfortable and it's not to heavy.

Running around doing errands, keeping it casual look!

I paired it with a comfy cozy coatigan and my favorite vans.

Super easy transition right? If you have a ton of running around to do and have plants at night this is a great way for you to save time and money! Why change your whole outfit? Just change a few things and you're ready to go!

We've made it! We are officially halfway through the week!

Phew.. Let's hope the rest of the week goes by just as productive!

I recently purchased a few items from J.Crew factory because they were having such a great sale I couldn't pass up! First, the scalloped sweater was adorable! It fit's comfortably, and I can easily layer under it. I got a size large for reference because JC tends to run small. The sweater comes in 4 different colors, so you can easily mix and match however you want! The flats, which I have been really eyeing forever & they are such a good staple piece to have (it's all about the basics!) I got in a size 9. I normally am a size 9.5 but I needed them to be a little smaller in the heel area. Down below, I showed you two different ways to wear the sweater! Which one is your favorite?!

Happy rainy Tuesday y'all! Day three of my staycation, and let me tell you.. it's going by way to fast! I finally got all my Christmas tree down (phew) and it's time to start putting up the Valentines day decorations! I took a trip to the Container store today & purchased a few items to help me get my apartment more organized. I'd like to start off by saying this post is not sponsored by Target but a girl can dream, right?! Unfortunately for me, my apartment is conveniently located within walking distance from a Target (my poor wallet). I get anything from my groceries, home decor and yes even my accessories! I never really noticed Target's clothing product much in the past, mainly because when I was in Florida my local Target wasn't the best. Hashtag first world problems..

Lately, I have been getting into wearing a lot more accessories with my outfits, something that I never really did before. Statement earrings are such a big thing right now and when you have a slight obsession you want more bang for your buck. Self Care

I've seen a lot of people speaking out about having a "self care day" and for the life of me, I can't remember when I had one for myself! Today, is the first time in a long time I had no plans, not hanging out with anyone, no work, nothing! And let me tell you it feels good. Lately, I have been on the go and haven't found the time to really stop and let myself breathe. I have this problem when I have nothing to do I almost feel guilty about it. Weird, right? I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem though!

What is a "Self Care Day" anyways? Everyones is different, let's just start with that. For me, I woke up this morning, had a cup of coffee and watched one episode of Orange Is The New Black (new season is on Netflix finally!). Afterwards, I put on my sneakers and took a nice 2 mile walk. On my way back to my apartment I stopped at my favorite coffee place The Nest and got (another) cup of coffee. My phone was in my pocket the whole time, not once did I look at it. I had my head phones in listening to my music and just was in tune with my music and taking in whatever was around me.

I got in from my walk, cleaned up a bit and went to get a mani/pedi. I am a firm believer when your nails are done and look nice, you feel 100% better. Afterwards, I went grocery shopping. I don't know about you, but grocery shopping is actually really therapeutic for me! Maybe because Whole Foods is just a lovely place, but who knows.

I came home and cooked myself a nice dinner and meal prepped for work this week. I worked on cleaning up my apartment, did about 2 loads of laundry and changed my sheets. A nice clean environment really sets the mood for the upcoming week.

Now, I know what you're thinking.. what I did was pretty basic every day activities but I carved time today just for myself and no one else. I am truly an introvert at heart and I need time to myself to recuperate from interacting with people 10 hours a day. Who would have thought interacting with people is exhausting?!

At this point you're probably thinking "What's the purpose of having a Self Care day?" I know for me, it's a big stress check. My job requires long hours on my feet, constant lifting, planning ahead and just always putting my best foot forward. But how can I put my best foot forward if I'm not able to put myself first mentally and physically? Having a day where I can just take care of myself allows me to destress, let my worries go and then I am able to really put people first 6/7 days a week.

Shop Your Closet Day 2

Alright ya'll.. it's day two of shop your closet August. I've officially made it my mission to (try) and not spend (so) much on clothing this month. As a store manager of a clothing store I am forever being exposed to new product that I pretty much need.. So my wallet for sure gets hit hard every month! I've got such great pieces hiding in my closet so why not show you. Ps. I'd love some great tips and tricks to help stop the spending.. so comment away down below!! (thanks in advance)

Today's outfit consists of a blazer the Loft Outlet sold about a year ago! If you haven't noticed, my go to signature look is a pair of jeans and a blazer for sure. The fact that I can have it with a nice pair of heels for work, and some fashion forward sneakers for going out is my kind of outfit! Two for one, am I right?!

Let's be real, ever since I decided leggings were an acceptable form of pants I totally have ditched jeans. But now that I am well into 25 it's time to say see ya to the comfort of black leggings that make us feel a little slimmer on our fat days. I've always struggled with finding the right fit, and finding something that was comfortable. I am all about comfort and hate to be sucked into a stiff pair of pants for 8 hours. Not entirely sure how some women do it but more power to you.. seriously I give you major props.

While we are well on our way into the summer season, retailers have started to release their fall collection and it seems that detailed jeans are all the rage.

I recently purchased these jeans from the Loft Outlet. Like I've stated before, finding the right fit has always been a challenge!! When it comes to shopping, believe it or not I kind of just wing it. Meaning I eye ball it and just buy the item! Working in retail through the years has taught me how to figure out someones fit and shape easily.

Nordstrom Sale Picks

It's every blogger/Influencers favorite time of the year! That's right, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale has arrived and it's blowing up everyones news feed. I feel like I'm pretty open about what I have to say on this blog.. and let's just say this sale gives me agita. At first I was really excited about this sale, but after seeing ALL of the big bloggers talk non stop about the sale I was kind of turned off. As a blogger, I never want to influence or pressure anyone into buying something they don't need. First off, the items they released will come back into stock after the sale. So don't sweat the small stuff. The super cute camo jacket (which i'll admit I totally love) will come back, I promise! Another thing is, all the big influencers were showing the same items 10 times a day. I know for me, I always want to be versatile in what I show my audience.

Now let's talk about walking into Nordstrom today. HECTIC. I mentally prepared myself prior to this chaos. But, it was another level. It was busy, which is totally fine I work in retail I know how weekends are.. but I was unsure what as exactly on sale. They had yellow frames where all the Anniversary items where located. But I wish as a client, they put all the anniversary stuff in the same area as each other to make it easy for us to shop it.

I wound up purchasing only two items today because I was kind of over battling the crowds. I also couldn't tell what was part of the Anniversary sale and what wasn't. So I went the untraditional route and bought some flats for work and a nice blazer to wear with my jeans (my go to outfit).

Prior to the event going to the public I created a wish list of time that would go great in my closet! Unfortunately, some items are totally sold out (Oops!) But like I said they will be back in stock after the Anniversary sale is over aka August 6th. So take a peak down below to see if anything is left in your size!
