The psalmist declares, “God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble. Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas” (Psalm 46:1–2). No matter what collapses around us, God’s kingdom stands unshaken. Hebrews 12:28 reminds us, “Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful.” And Paul points us forward in Colossians 3:1–4, calling us to set our minds on things above because our life is hidden with Christ in God.

When fear rises and despair looms, God calls us back to perspective. We belong to a kingdom that is eternal. Our citizenship is secure. Our hope is anchored in the promise that Christ will appear, and we will appear with Him in glory.

So let’s lift our eyes above the noise. Let’s speak the truth of God’s Word into a weary world. And let’s keep building people up, reminding one another that Christ reigns, His promises are sure, and His kingdom will never fall.

I was asked this question yesterday while sitting with one our writers here at Spiritbuilding Publishers. I appreciated his question. As I thought of how to answer, my mind went to what someone else said earlier in the day as they stopped to talk to me a few minutes after walking onto the Florida College campus. The Restoration Movement: Speaking as the Oracles of God goes back over 200 years and discusses the early restoration movement and notable figures like Barton W. Stone, Alexander Campbell, Walter Scott, and others. Brother Stauffer covers history all the way up to the late 1970's. With brother Stauffer's permission we asked Steve Wolfgang to write an appendix that summarizes restoration history from the 1970's to present day. This is a great book to add to your personal library and would be great for small groups, etc.

We are thankful to slow down a little after a very busy summer filled with travel all over the Midwest and Southeast. I began traveling to Colombia in 2011 and immediately fell in love with the coffee. In 2017, I got to visit the farm owned by Antonio Restrepo, who affectionally calls it The House of the Wind. In 2021 he established Cafe Ventu and has chosen me as his exclusive vendor for North America. Spiritbuilding is excited to add Ventu Coffee to its product lineup.

Grown at over 5500 feet in central Colombia's coffee belt, a portion of each purchase of our Ventu Roasted Coffee will go to support the coffee farmers who live there.
