Father's Day 2016

It has been a long time. Life tends to throw a curve ball or two, but we are back. Today's episode is geared for fathers.

Fathers, we are to set the example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Not only in private in our homes, but also in public. The world is crying out for examples. Let's give the world what they are asking for. Let's show them how REAL fathers are.

God set the finest example for how REAL fathers are supposed to conduct themselves in many areas. Read the Bible, and look at all the examples of godly men that were fathers. They all stumbled somewhere, but they got back up. David was a man after God's own heart, but he tripped up when he took another man's wife. Did he stop there when he fell? NO! He eventually got back up. He paid for his sins, that is for sure; however, he got back up. We as human fathers will miss the mark, but if we don't shoot for something we will miss everything.

I hope today's episode will encourage you to make a decision to, from this point forward, set an example that becomes a godly family legacy.

Mother's Day 2016

It's finally here!!! Mother's Day. Today's episode is special in more ways than one. We are focusing on mothers in this episode. Jennifer invited a special guest to co-host. We were honored to have Pastor Christie Stratton in the studio with us to discuss moms.

Moms are not just the person that carried you for 9 months and raised you, but there are spiritual moms out there. Moms that have been there for you on your journey in Christ. Make sure that today, you let your mom and/or spiritual mom know how much you love them and appreciate all that they have done for you.

I know that you all have been waiting for the next episode on love... Well, wait no longer!!!! It is here. This is our final episode on love. We look at John 21:15-17 and the "Reinstatement" of Peter. We cover the two Greek words that are translated to English love. We find out that there are two different words here and why that is important.
Yes, I was intentional on skipping Part 3 because this is Part 3 and 4 combined. I pray that this episode makes you think, and hope that it challenges you to review how you see love.

Love - Part 2

Back again... In this episode, Jennifer and I talk about one of the Greek words for love. Eros is the origin for the term "erotic". Eros is the romantic, sensual love that is between a husband and his wife.

Today, society's understanding of love as seen on TV or heard in music is eros focused. Our goal is to shine a different light on the eros love. The love between a man and his wife is depicted in the Song of Songs. It is a tender, close, romantic love.

It's time to stop seeing this type of love as "dirty". We need to know that this type of love between a husband and wife is the type of love that God created from the very beginning for a man and his wife. It's not always about sensuality and sex. It is the emotional, spiritual, and physical bonding between a man and his wife.

What is Love????

What is love? With Valentine's Day around the corner, we want to start looking at what exactly love is. Tina Turner asked the question in the 80's, What's Love Got to do with it. In the 90's, Haddaway had a song that asked, What is Love. Jen and I have different music tastes from different time periods. I thought I would hit both time periods. Little did I know, she had no clue about the Haddaway song from the 90's... My bad.

Love is a complex and misunderstood word. In this episode, we take a look at what the dictionary says love is. What we have found, is that love is more than the dictionary definition. In the old Greek culture, they had several different words to describe love.

Hang on to your hats, we are about to embark on a journey over the next few weeks to try to understand love better. Hopefully, we will inspire you to look at love a little differently. Let's learn about love, walk in love, speak in love, and act in love.

Most Dangerous Weapon

In this episode we discuss the most dangerous weapon... The human tongue. That's right with the tongue we speak words, and those words have power. We can not only destroy ourselves with our words... We can also destroy others. It is a slow destruction from the inside out, but it can be deadly just the same as any physical weapon known to man.
