<p><a href="https://www.epiphan.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Epiphan Video</a> has introduced the EC20 PTZ Camera, the latest addition to its cloud-managed <a href="https://www.epiphan.com/edge/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Edge ecosystem.</a> <a href="https://www.epiphan.com/products/ec20/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The EC20</a> is the only camera on the market to offer native, out-of-the-box fleet management, says the Palo Alto, Calif.-based, provider of capture and streaming solutions. Designed for higher education and enterprise environments, the EC20 aims to simplify large-scale camera deployment and operation.</p>
<p>When integrated with Epiphan Edge, the EC20 enables centralized management of camera fleets, transforming standalone devices into a unified, always-visible system. This approach reduces downtime, streamlines installations and simplifies ongoing operations, Epiphan says.</p>
<p>Cloud-managed EC20 cameras deliver instant, centralized visibility across entire deployments through a single Epiphan Edge dashboard. Teams can quickly identify which cameras are online or offline, view video thumbnails and audio meters, and access essential device details including IP address, serial number, MAC address, and firmware version.</p>
<p>“Epiphan’s EC20 Camera was designed from day one to be part of a cloud-managed fleet,” says Yusupha Touray, vice president of product at Epiphan. “Instead of guessing or logging into cameras one by one, customers get continuous, lightweight visibility that enables proactive problem-solving at real-world scale.”</p>
<p>Beyond visibility, EC20 and Edge reduce support effort through secure remote access to camera controls. From anywhere, teams can access the camera’s web UI to adjust image settings, refine framing with presets, reboot or power-cycle devices, and perform firmware updates, including batch updates across the entire fleet. This remote capability helps resolve issues faster while minimizing disruption to live spaces.</p>
<p>Deployment speed is another key advantage of the EC20. The camera is engineered to move from unboxing to capture-ready in minutes through Epiphan Edge. Installers avoid time-consuming in-room configuration, while IT teams maintain consistent settings across every camera. The result is faster rollouts, fewer repeat site visits and the ability to scale deployments without increasing headcount, whether across dozens of enterprise meeting spaces or hundreds of classrooms.</p>
<p>By combining Epiphan hardware, camera firmware, and cloud infrastructure, EC20 completes the industry’s first end-to-end managed PTZ camera ecosystem, designed to integrate seamlessly with Epiphan Pearl capture appliances and cloud services.</p>
<p>“Managing cameras at scale has traditionally been painful. Manual setup, no central visibility, drifting image settings, and time-consuming updates,” says Touray. “EC20 changes that model entirely. It’s not just a camera. It’s a new way to deploy and operate video infrastructure, built for the scale our Pro AV customers actually need.”</p>

The IntelliMix Bar Pro also integrates patented Shure Microflex Advance array microphones with high output, premium stereo loudspeakers to deliver superior audio for meeting experiences.</p>
<p>The company adds that the onboard IntelliMix processing enhances audio clarity by reducing background noise and isolating voices. This further supports precise transcriptions for AI tools like Copilot in Microsoft Teams and ensures audio clarity to boost productivity.</p>

<p>Built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP), the IntelliMix Bar Pro also prioritizes a foundation of security and long-term stability for enterprises. <p>As a new year begins, it’s natural to take stock of overarching industry trends that shape integrators and clients’ product choices and, thus, manufacturers’ product design choices. Although many might cite “AI” as the buzzword of our era, I’d suggest a different one: “frictionless.” With the line between AV and IT blurring to the point of nonexistence and integrators increasingly working shoulder to shoulder with corporate and education IT departments, the appetite for speed and simplicity — completely frictionless technology usage — has never been greater. And it’s very clear that BenQ has taken notice.</p>
<h2><strong>Hands-On Testing of BenQ InstaShow WDC15</strong></h2>
<p>Recently, I had the opportunity to conduct hands-on testing of BenQ’s InstaShow WDC15 <a href="https://www.benq.com/en-us/business/wireless-presentation/wdc15.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wireless presentation system</a>, a screen-mirroring solution that the company released to considerable acclaim late this past summer. Being much more a journalist than a technologist, I tend to begin product reviews with a bit of trepidation, not knowing how easily I’ll be able to manage hardware setup, software downloads and UX navigation. With the InstaShow WDC15, however, unboxing to screen mirroring took all of five minutes!</p>

<p>The InstaShow WDC15 comes in a small, relatively lightweight package, reflecting the streamlined, unfussy nature of the solution. The box contains the receiver unit, one button unit with built-in USB-C connector (additional button units are purchasable separately), a cradle capable of holding up to two buttons, an HDMI cable and various other separately packaged accessories. These include a power adapter that offers U.S. and European plug options and twin antennae for the receiver unit, as well as basic mounting components. Mounting options for the WDC15 include pole mount and wall/ceiling mount.</p>
<p>Most pleasing to me was that, unlike some competitive devices, which might include a hefty instruction manual, the WDC15 includes (and requires only) a simple quick start guide.</p>
<h2><strong>Plug and Go</strong></h2>
<p>Upon unboxing, I plugged the button unit into my laptop via USB-C; immediately, I heard a chime indicating that a new device was detected; in less than 10 seconds, the button shone green to indicate readiness to mirror. There was no automatic redirect to a website to download software and no prompt to initiate an app. How refreshing to see “plug and play” really mean plug and play!</p>
<p>Next, I screwed the two antennae onto the receiver unit, attached and plugged in the power adapter, and connected the receiver unit to a 4K flatscreen LCD via the included HDMI cable. Within seconds, the corresponding circle on the receiver turned green, indicating readiness to pair. After turning on the TV, I tapped the button unit and, in two seconds, the 4K TV mirrored my laptop, showing all the fine details and content nuances that business collaborators and students alike expect these days.</p>
<p>In my tests, I found latency to be quite minimal, with only a slight delay when scrolling up or down in a Word or Excel document; there were no distracting sync issues when streaming videos from YouTube.</p>

Up to 16 simultaneous connections are possible, and no login is required.</p>
<h2><strong>For Technology Managers, There’s Much to Like</strong></h2>

In short, IT managers whose technology estate includes the WDC15 can rest easily, secure in the knowledge it doesn’t create vulnerabilities.</p>
<p>The InstaShow WDC15 is equally compelling for end users and guests, from teachers to corporate meeting participants. They can screen mirror in minutes, with zero training required, without having to download software or bother with an app, while benefiting from the full 4K capabilities of the display they’re mirroring onto. Unlike some competitors whose screen mirroring is limited to 1080p or even lower resolution, the WDC15 offers 30fps video at 4K resolution. This ensures that classroom and meeting room displays are utilized to their full potential, with the screen mirroring not imposing any limitations.</p>
<h2><strong>BenQ InstaShow WDC15: It&#8217;s About </strong><strong>Value, Not Price</strong></h2>
<p>Admittedly, the InstaShow WDC15 ($799) isn’t the cheapest wireless presentation system on the market. However, its ease and quickness of use, 4K friendliness, AES128 encryption and CVSS 4.0 certification, and lack of subscription cost with no software to use or app to download makes its value high and its total cost of ownership surprisingly low.</p>
<p>It seems certain that the BenQ InstaShow WDC15 will be a foundational part of consultants and integrators’ arsenal when they’re designing and spec’ing for classrooms, meeting rooms and other collaborative spaces.</p>

Fast forward to 2025, and the public cloud is far from retreating – it is now playing a central role in more complex, resilient IT strategies. But how companies are using the cloud is evolving. New <a href="https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.parallels.com%2Fproducts%2Fras%2Fall-resources%2Freports%2Fcloud-survey-2025%2Freport%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7Calyssa.borelli%40emeraldx.com%7Cf4ccdfb0a80e4c4e5cae08ddc60ab4db%7C661c8d9be19e4330b41275dce2d26154%7C0%7C0%7C638884471494618547%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=CYb5fwomfLj097%2Be7waKA26WiD81iwEkSgWThS6tvZ0%3D&amp;reserved=0">survey data from Parallels</a> reveals that IT professionals at midsize companies are not abandoning their cloud strategies, they’re further optimizing them – embracing hybrid and multi-cloud models that examine flexibility, performance and security. They are reexamining the cost and benefits of SaaS, VDI, DaaS and other cloud solutions.</p>
<p>For midsize companies, this shift reflects a more strategic, value-conscious approach to the cloud. They often lack the expansive budgets or large IT teams of enterprise organizations, so their cloud decisions are being made with tighter cost controls, simplified management and stronger ROI in mind. Cloud choices are more intentional – and often more innovative – as these businesses try to balance agility and security with operational efficiency.</p>
<p>This mindset is fueling a growing interest in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, in fact, 47% of the respondents are now operating in multi-cloud environments, while 35% are currently using hybrid cloud setups – with another 25% planning to adopt a hybrid cloud model soon – clear signs that midsize companies are diversifying their cloud strategies and getting smarter about how and where they deploy workloads, public cloud included.</p>
<h2><strong>Drivers of Change: Cost, Security and Complexity</strong></h2>
<p>Several powerful forces are shaping this shift, including cost efficiency, close examination of current SaaS, DaaS and VDI engagements, and heightened awareness of cyberattacks and vulnerabilities. For mid-market companies, in particular, budget management and risk mitigation are priorities. That’s why many are combining public cloud with on-premises infrastructure to extend its benefits while controlling costs and exposure.</p>
<p>Larger enterprises have similar drivers but have the advantage of more resources to devote to cyber defense and the increasing complexity of application workloads. These organizations are investing further in public cloud scalability while augmenting it with hybrid options for data control, compliance, or latency-sensitive workloads.</p>
<h2><strong>DaaS and VDI: Under Review, Not Rejected</strong></h2>
<p>Remote work has exponentially driven up the use of the cloud, and use of VDI and workload delivery systems like DaaS. However, IT leaders are now taking a hard look at how they deliver virtual desktops, not whether they belong in the cloud. According to survey data, IT flags “too many resources,&#8221; “lack of centralized control,&#8221; and “too expensive” as the top DaaS/VDI issues. Not far behind are concerns with performance and reliability.</p>
<p>These findings signal the need for better DaaS/VDI implementations and more flexible vendor agreements.  Companies, particularly those in the budget-conscious mid-market, are looking for shorter-term agreements, scalable pricing, and improved service levels to make DaaS and VDI work within their broader cloud strategy.</p>
<h2><strong>Securing the Hybrid Remote Environment</strong></h2>
<p>Security remains top of mind, with 35% of respondents from midsize companies reporting their company had experienced a security breach in the last year. Fear of <a href="/tag/malware">malware</a> and <a href="/tag/ransomware">ransomware attacks</a> and cloud vulnerabilities are the top two concerns. Midsize companies are willing to invest more in security: 90% are planning to significantly or moderately increase the budget this year. But this investment isn’t a signal that hybrid environments are inherently insecure, it’s a recognition that endpoint and browser-based threats are the new battlegrounds, especially as remote workers desire fast, no-fuss access to whatever data they need, on any device.</p>
<p>SaaS has been the go-to-choice for application delivery to remote workers. Since so many workers use SaaS applications, it is fertile ground for a security breach. IT professionals, as a result, are starting to look at browser isolation solutions to basically separate and lock down a worker’s browser session in the cloud. It prevents a cybercriminal from accessing the data, thereby containing any threat. If the web content a worker is viewing might be destructive, an isolation tool will also stop any possible threat to the larger network. Currently 40% of respondents at midsize companies have web browser isolation, still relying predominantly on traditional tools with firewalls, VPNs and anti-virus software, the top deployed threat defense solutions. Cloud-based isolation solutions themselves reinforce the continued relevance of the public cloud as a defense layer, not just a workload host.</p>
<p>Besides web browser isolation, which is definitely gaining traction, companies recognize the need for improved monitoring of device and application use that can signal a threat before it becomes a breach event. Mindful of budget and staff limitations, companies can look for remote application delivery solutions that support multiple cloud providers and can also integrate with monitoring and remediation tools.</p>
<h2><strong>Looking Ahead: Public Cloud at the Core of Hybrid Success</strong></h2>
<p>What the survey data ultimately show is that the public cloud is actually maturing. Companies, notably the mid-market, are embracing hybrid and multi-cloud setups. Public cloud remains at the heart of scalable IT strategy.</p>
<p>What’s changing is how it is combined with on-premises infrastructure, edge computing, and private cloud services to meet the unique needs of different workloads, users and security profiles.</p>
<p>With ease of platform integration, flexibility in workload placement, and improved security tooling, hybrid cloud strategies are enabling companies to get the best of both worlds, while keeping the public cloud as a vital, growing piece of their puzzle.</p>

The new model is being unveiled at ISTELive 2025 in booth #3524 at the Henry B. González Convention Center.</p>
<p>Designed specifically for school districts with unique IT, security or student safety requirements, the new models offer the full interactive display experience without a preloaded OS. It allows integration with a district’s existing infrastructure, including LG’s own Chromebox.</p>
<p>“Some school districts need to manage their own security protocols or educational ecosystems,” says Victoria Sanville, education director at LG Electronics USA. “With LG CreateBoard Core, they can now enjoy the power of the LG CreateBoard on their own terms.”</p>

<p>Available in 86-, 75-, and 65-inch models, LG CreateBoard Core features an Ultra HD IPS display, 40-point multi-touch support and two 16-watt built-in speakers. With a PC connection, users can access LG CreateBoard Share wireless collaboration, and with an internet connection, education customers have complimentary access to LG ConnectedCare for remote device monitoring and management.</p>
<p>Sanville adds that the new models retains the reliability and flexibility that have made the LG CreateBoard a leading choice in education. Educators can expect robust connectivity, compatibility with ChromeOS and Windows, and optional features such as OPS slot integration.</p>
<p>The full LG CreateBoard line continues to include Google certified EDLA Android with LG&#8217;s full suite of software including LG CreateBoard Prep, LG CreateBoard Share for wireless collaboration, and LG ConnectedCare for remote device management, backed by a five-year warranty.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Research from <a href="https://onediversified.com/">Diversified</a>, the global technology solutions provider, reveals that companies are underinvesting in workforce technologies such as <a href="/tag/videoconferencing">videoconferencing</a> tools, collaboration platforms and production and broadcast solutions – putting productivity and employee well-being at risk.</p>
<p>The Diversified Technology Maturity Survey of more than 1,600 U.S. employees found 89% of workers use their own devices or apps for work due to better ease of use compared to company-provided options, creating cyber and compliance risks. Nearly as many (88%) say their company’s tech limits creativity and problem solving – also a massive liability for businesses.</p>
<p>With globally dispersed teams relying on collaboration tools, technologies and broadcast events, 77% of survey respondents said they work for companies offering hybrid work options. The vast majority (92%) split their work weeks between the office and remote locations — something most prefer.</p>
<p>A strong majority said workplace flexibility is critical, with 86% considering it when job hunting, and 49% willing to sacrifice pay for hybrid work. Even more (69%) leaders would do the same.</p>
<p>The Diversified survey also uncovered a desire to reinvent workspaces to boost creativity, security, productivity and retention. Notably, 73% of CEOs seek ways to repurpose office space, while 83% of leaders are interested in adding public-use areas.</p>
<p>“People naturally seek in-person connection, but requiring work from an isolated cube or room offers no more collaboration than working from home. Mandating office returns erodes trust and loyalty,” says Diversified CEO Eric Hutto. &#8220;Organizations should instead create engaging spaces and a gradual and flexible increase of purposeful in-office time.”</p>
<h2><strong>Rethinking Workplace Tech: Balancing Productivity &amp; Human Experience</strong></h2>
<p>Since the arrival of generative <a href="/tag/AI">AI</a>, most workplace technology conversations have focused on productivity. But workplace technology is also deeply connected to the human experience.</p>
<p>Sixty percent of survey respondents said technology integration issues adversely affect their work-life balance, 76% feel that they must be online at all times and 24% of those working late said it’s because their tech causes delays. That has important implications for productivity and employee satisfaction and retention. An estimated 27% of U.S. employees quit in 2023, according to the <a href="https://www.shrm.org/topics-tools/news/talent-acquisition/workers-are-quitting-because-work-life-balance-career-development">Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)</a>; lack of work-life balance was among the top three reasons why.</p>
<p>Modern audiovisual solutions and collaboration technologies amplify voices and enable flexible work, expanding opportunities for a broader talent pool. Notably, the Department of Labor reports that the number of disabled adults participating in the labor market has doubled over the last five years due to hybrid work. Nearly all (92%) of workers said they feel stronger connections with their children when working from home, better supporting their emotional and educational needs.</p>
<h2><strong>Diversified Survey: Embracing Fit-for-Purpose Workplaces</strong></h2>
<p>“The culture of work is changing, and workplace technology is a big driver of this change,” says Jason Kornweiss, senior vice president of advisory services for Diversified. “Now, workplace structures must be fit-for-purpose and workplace technology needs to power experience, satisfaction and productivity – regardless of where people work.”</p>
<p>Hutto adds, “The necessity for remote and hybrid work over the last 5 years rewrote the employee-employer contract. Now people have different expectations, technology continues to evolve, and it’s time to embrace fit-for-purpose structures and new tech-enabled experiences that bring people together – whomever and wherever they are – and keep them coming back.”</p>
<p>This research reminds organizations that business practices must evolve with technology, culture and people.</p>
