Well, I am back at it – coming back doing another episode. It’s only been a few months (literally!) since the previous one. In this episode, I go over New Warriors (Volume One) – Issues 21, 22 and 23 – which begins the Nothing But The Truth story. I figured, I typically do three issues each episode – and next would be 24 and 25 – and 25 is a bit of a double size, with a lot to unpack. So I figured 25 would count as two issues, and I’d save that for the next one I do.

In the meantime, you can download this latest episode. It should be available on iTunes, within a few days of posting it. I am not sure what other services this podcast appears on.

What’s going on? Another episode of the podcast, you ask yourself? “But it’s not been a four year gap!” you decry. Well, you’re right. It’s not. I’ve been wanting to get back to this for awhile – and since my other podcast (Comic Relief Podcast) seems to be on hold; this has freed up time to return to this. While it’s odd just being a one person podcast and having no one to banter off of – I’ve gotten used to it and been enjoying it.

In this issue, I go over New Warriors Volume One – issues #18, 19 and 20 and stop there – because 20 onward leads into a big storyline that I figured I would cover in my next podcast.

So sit back and enjoy a very short episode of The Crashpod.

Sure, sure. Maybe the last time there was a podcast for this was… you know, somewhere, roughly (maybe exactly) around July 12…. um, 2017. And sure, yeah – that was like, well, just over five years ago… So why?

Why is there a notification that tells me there’s a new episode of this show I clearly thought was dead and gone? you might be asking yourself. (Now is the title of this episode more clear?)

Why? I mean. That’s a really great question, really. And honestly, I can’t say for certain. There’s a lot of stuff going on in my life right now – and I needed an escape. And I remember in my youth, taking great comfort in the pages of The New Warriors when it had debuted. Yes, I was drawn to it because Namorita was in it (those who know me know the uh… joke of my unnatural obsession with Namorita)… and because I recognized Firestar and Nova … and because the team debuted in a book I loved (Thor)… but the actual series, and what Fabian did with these … really “nobody” characters… and made them so life like. Gave them real problems that they couldn’t just punch and resolve. But they struggled. And together, relied on one another, and overcame. Together. I think this is why I came back and did this again. I needed that escape. That comfort. And took great pleasure reading through the next set of issues I would cover – which is, from Volume 1 – New Warriors #14, 15, 16 and 17. Issue #14 was pretty much a stand alone issue (Namorita vs Sea Urchin), which would have been really short to cover. But 15 through 17 cover the Terrax story.

So if you’re so inclined – check out the newest one – as always I do some trivia questions in the beginning related to the issues I am covering – so feel free to get those #2 pencils (or if you have a pen!) ready to write down some answers.

Thanks to Insomnia (my best friend) and the epic battle we had – I finally raised my hands in defeat and said, “Fine! I can’t sleep! I will do something!” So I sat in my room and talked to myself. Not like a crazy person. Well… not any crazier than I already am… but I mean, I talked to myself, as in doing the next New Warriors podcast for The Crashpod. So you’re probably wondering, “Wait, the last issue of the Crashpod was back in September… of 2014? I thought I read on the forum that the Podcast was over?” It was. Is. However, the podcast came to an end, because it was difficult to schedule a time between myself, Corey and Doug – to all be able to sit down for an hour and record. So while I was working on the site, I got it in my head that I would revive the podcast – but do it as a solo project. I may have Corey, Doug, or even other guests on in the future – but currently what I want to do is discuss whatever New Warriors related new there might be; and then progressively do a synopsis of all the issues of The New Warriors, the solo series the characters have been in, and such. It may be boring, because it is just me talking about the New Warriors. I don’t know. But I figured I’d give it a shot. This podcast begins with discussing all the characters who have ever been a member of the New Warriors, and what I’ve liked and disliked about them.

Once again, after the forgetful Tawmis (blame the old age!) finally remembered to record (having forgotten two previously scheduled sessions!), Corey, Doug, and Tawmis finally got a synchronized schedule that allowed the three of them to finally sit down for a moment and talk about The New Warriors, as well as Nova. In this issue of the podcast, they cover issues #6, 7, and 8 of the new series. They also cover issues 18, 19 and 20 of the new Nova series! In between all of that discussion there a lot of additional, well, discussion, of all things New Warriors! They discuss the writing, the characters, the personalities, likes and dislikes! All of it! This is what you have been waiting for! And this time – the dynamic trio (that’s not going work!) even disagree on some things (about characters, and story arcs!) This issue of the podcast was plagued with problems! (As previously noted with Tawmis’ attention span and memory of a gnat, we also encountered some recording issues with Doug’s mic – so you will hear bursts of static near the end!) Oh! And one thing.
