If we are sick, we need to use the tools which will get us well. This would likely include conventional and alternative medicine and prayer. For each person it will be different. It’s possible that someone could heal themselves of a serious illness solely through prayer/divine connection, but we have to acknowledge that this is very rare as someone would need to believe 100% with every fiber of their being that they could do this - few people can believe with that degree of certainty. But as we acknowledge that we have a serious illness and need to take varied steps to address it, we must also not accept that this is the way it has to be (a paradox). Regardless of the temporary illness that is affecting our physical body, we are whole, perfect, and complete as part of God. Often, what we think we need and want is actually not what we need. The Universe will “withhold” what we think we need until we have learned the lessons of surrender and trust. Trust that we will be provided what we actually need that is in our highest good. This is a hard lesson for most people as it involves humility and a knocking down of the ego self. For when we are younger, our time is usually occupied with work and family. So if we have cancer or a serious illness, we can make a decision on treatment from one end of the spectrum to the other - fully conventional medical treatment to healing ourselves. If you get fifty people in a room, you will have fifty versions of what is considered perfection. Since there is no universal definition of perfection, maybe perfection is just where you are at. We just have to recognize it. Everything in this world is an appearance. But behind all appearances is God, is perfection.
