It’s the offseason for the WHL, but it’s almost Christmas for scout Cody Nickolet (@dubfromabove), who put together an astoundingly detailed scouting report for WHL players who are eligible for the upcoming NHL draft, which takes place June 26 and 27. Cody and Scott (@ssepich) discuss the prospects from the WHL’s U.S. Division who are most likely to be drafted, and look at some guys on the outside looking in who could become pro prospects in the future.

Special episode: WHL commissioner Ron Robison

With the WHL final approaching this weekend, the league had a media session today (Friday, May 2) that included players and coaches for both teams as well as WHL commissioner Ron Robison. I spoke with Robison, along with local media members Ron Callan and Molly Blue. This short podcast is just the audio of that mini-press conference, as most of what was discussed is of interest to fans in Portland and in the U.S. Division.

I wasn’t able to do a preview podcast for the series, but I hope to do something early next week recapping the weekend games here in Portland.
