Touring in support of their album, All Over You, which is out now on Merge Records, indie pop quartet Imperial Teen headlined a late night show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, NY on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Joining them on this tour and performing promptly at 10PM was Chicago, IL’s Gay Meat.

Imperial Teen started their set about an hour later, with Will Schwartz declaring “this set time is not our fault” before beginning the title track of their latest record. The band performed songs across their catalog including favorites from their debut Seasick from 1996, 1998’s What Is Not To Love and 2002’s On.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, Heavens To Betsy wrapped up their first east coast US show in over three decades with a show at Bowery Ballroom in NYC. They were joined by Calamity Jane, who were also performing in NYC for the first time in a very long time. The joint tour also featured Menopunks, who sold merchandise and their founder, Alicia J. Rose, performed two covers with Calamity Jane, and showed a trailer for their documentary that will be released in 2027 (and they are fundraising for its completion).

I covered the show for Impose Magazine and the full gallery can be found on their website. I first discovered Heavens To Betsy in college, and never thought I would ever see them live so being able to document this show was quite special.

Benjamin Franklin famously stated that there are only two certainties in life, which are death and taxes. I can also propose a third, which would be no two Les Savy Fav performances are ever the same. The NYC band headlined Music Hall of Williamsburg for the very last time* on Friday, October 30, 2026, were joined by Jersey City, NJ’s Rye Coalition and made Mischief Night an extremely memorable one.

Concertgoers were told on social media by Les Savy Fav to avoid wearing nice clothing and that there would be a zombie makeup station on site. All five members of LSF appeared on stage dressed as undead police officers and began their set with “Guzzle Blood” from their 2024 album, OUI, LSF, which seemed quite fitting. Tim Harrington’s dismembered arm and hand were eventually thrown separately into the audience.

It would be an impossible for me to recount all the mischievous antics that took place during their set but Tim would leave the stage numerous times, disappear into a sea of people, only to return by the next song wearing something he wasn’t wearing when he left. It seems as if he confiscated hats, wigs and other accessories from audience members while singing in the crowd. Harrington applied fake blood to people’s faces and clothing, hence the warning of not wearing anything nice. During “Dirty Knails” numerous rolls of toilet paper descended from the venue’s balcony onto the main floor. After that song, someone helped wrap Tim’s head with toilet paper for him to briefly become a mummy. He also crawled under a small table on the side of the stage, and while he was over there, he somehow removed part of the black curtain from the stage, and then wore that fabric like a cape. An audience member near me dressed in costume as Buckethead, and eventually that person’s mask and KFC bucket were donned by Tim. Oh, he also used a brown wig as a merkin during their encore. The final song of the night was “Let’s Get Out of Here” from Root for Ruin which was a perfect way to send us out; a room full of people in unison declaring, “let’s get out of here.”

When I arrived at Music Hall last night, I realized that I’ve been attending Les Savy Fav shows for over two decades. I last saw LSF perform at MHOW in 2011, where the venue was celebrating their fourth anniversary and at that concert, Tim climbed upon a ladder and was held up by the crowd. An image of that moment was on display outside of the venue last night, and I’m so happy I got to see a band that I love so much perform in this space one final time.

*Music Hall of Williamsburg will close their doors at the end of December. If you attend any of their remaining concerts, they have images from their house photographers on various walls and outside the box office of previous performances.

**My friend Tiffany recommended their music to me and stated that I had to see them live, so I did, and have been every performance I could attend since then. For more Les Savy Fav photos, I have more available via their tag on this site and on Flickr.

On Friday, October 16, 2026, Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal concluded their tour in support of their joint album, DOOMED, at The Sultan Room in Brooklyn, NY.

I caught the very end of their set (due to me being at another show beforehand), but so very glad I got to see them both and get my record signed after their performance.

On Friday, October 16, 2026, Sugar headlined Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY with support from J. Robbins, who performed a solo set. Sugar’s set was mostly material from their first album, Copper Blue, which Bob Mould revealed was written in a loft on Richardson Street nearby the venue. The show also fell on Mould’s 62nd birthday.

Photos in the above gallery were created for Bowery Presents.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Be Your Own Pet headlined Zone One at Elsewhere to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their album, Be Your Own Pet, which they played in its entirety in track order. The group from Nashville was supported by NYC’s Josephine Network and Austin’s Farmer’s Wife for opening sets.

Josephine Network started the show at 7PM with a high energy set that concluded with a cover of The Supremes’ “Nothing But Heartaches.” Farmer’s Wife next, with the five year old band showcasing their moody songs for the audience. Just before 9PM, Be Your Own Pet came on stage to perform their first album front to back, and supplementing the rest of their set with songs from the Get Damaged EP, their 2023 record, Mommy, and a new song from an album they are working on currently. Unfortunately during their song “Bog,” Jemina hurt her ankle but somehow managed to power through the rest of the set, even remarking that Jonas, John, and Nathan played a song at a slower speed because of her foot and encouraged them to do it again faster.

Despite Jemina injuring herself stage and pushing through it, it was truly wonderful to see Be Your Own Pet perform again, twenty years after the release of their debut album. I saw the band live for the first time two decades ago at Knitting Factory, and again at Mercury Lounge in 2008. I covered their reunion show at Heaven Can Wait for BrooklynVegan, and hopefully I’ll see them again after the release of their forthcoming record. I’m also wishing Jemina a speedy recovery as well. The band finishes their east coast tour tonight at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia.

On Friday, October 9th, Kelela headlined two consecutive nights at Brooklyn Paramount in Downtown Brooklyn. The shows were done in support of her third album, new avatar, that was released by Warp Records on July 10th. During the first night, Kelela was joined by special guests Shygirl and Fousheé, and both shows were sold out.

I covered the show for Warp Records, alongside Spencer Sisselman and some of my work can be found in the above gallery.

There are some photos in this Instagram post by Warp Records, and a joint post by Vibe and Rolling Stone here.

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Rocket from the Crypt performed the first show of a two night NYC stand of their tour in support of their latest release, Scream, Frankenstein, Scream, which was recently pressed to vinyl after the masters of the recordings of the album that would become the Scream, Dracula, Scream album were located and restored. The San Diego band was joined by Alabama’s Man or Astro-man? for an opening set.

I covered the fun show for Impose Magazine and the full gallery can be found on their website.

On Friday, October 2, 2026, the second evening in conjunction with Ronen Givony’s book, Us v. Them: The Age of Indie Music and a Decade in New York (2004-2014) took place at Roulette Intermedium in Brooklyn, NY. The event featured performances by The Fiery Furnaces, Oneida, and Skeletons Big Band, with all three acts calling New York City home in the decade discussed in Givony’s book. After the event, I realized that my first Fiery Furnaces set took place at Bowery Ballroom two decades prior and it was wonderful to experience another live set by the band (Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger were joined by Brian Betancourt on bass and Noah Hecht on drums), where all their songs have different arrangements live compared to the recorded versions.

If you missed their set earlier this month, The Fiery Furnaces have two more live performances taking place at Union Pool in December.

Photos from the previous night on October 1st, Us v. Them: Celebrating Silent Barn are available here. Both events were presented by Wordless Music and BrooklynVegan, and infinite thanks to Ronen Givony for having me shoot both nights.

On Thursday, October 1, 2026, the first event in a two night series took place in celebration of Ronen Givony’s book, Us v. Them: The Age of Indie Music and a Decade in New York (2004-2014). The first night focused on the collective Silent Barn, who closed their venue at the end of April 2018. The music came from artists who had a special connection to Silent Barn: David Longstreth (of Dirty Projectors; who performed a solo set), Strawberry Hands (the project of Jacob Brunner, of Philadelphia who filled in for Mal Devisa who was ill that night), Mutual Benefit (né Jordan Lee who was accompanied by the Wordless Music Orchestra), and Haley Fohr (a.k.a. Circuit des Yeux) who was also joined by the Wordless Music Orchestra plus Alan Sparhawk (of Low). After Fohr’s set, which followed introductions by Matt Mehlan of Roulette and writer Ronen Givony, there was a panel discussing Silent Barn that featured musician Carlos Hernandez (Ava Luna, Carlos Truly), Yatta Zoker (who performs as YATTA and performed the final night at their 603 Bushwick Avenue location), plus collective members Jordan Michael Iannucci and Neon Mashurov that was moderated by Givony. Before the panel began, Ronen Givony read two chapters from his book to the audience.

Photos of the first night appears in the above gallery, with a separate gallery for the second night that’s available here. Many thanks to Ronen for having me document this special and memorable night, which served as a benefit for Roulette and was presented by Wordless Music and BrooklynVegan.

Before Silent Barn closed in 2018, I made portraits of members of the collective around the space that can be found here.

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, The Linda Lindas returned to Brooklyn Steel in support of their newest album, Gotta Get Out, which was released in late August. The group added an additional musician, Adan Diaz, to the band for the new material, and were joined by Deux Visages and NYC’s Um, Jennifer? on the bill.

Photos of The Linda Lindas are now available on Bowery Presents’ “The House List,” and photos of the two opening acts can be found below.

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, a stacked bill took place at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. There was a headlining set by NYC’s Unsane, with opening sets from fellow NYC act, Vaz, and Pennsylvania’s Pissed Jeans.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Korean hip-hop group EPIK HIGH began their 2026 North American tour at Terminal 5 in New York, NY. The sold-out show was a delight with fans bringing the group’s signature light sticks, asking questions to Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz via post it notes, and high energy.

I covered the concert last night for Bowery Presents’ The House List and the full gallery is now available on their website.

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, Philadelphia’s Mannequin Pussy returned to perform at Music Hall of Williamsburg one last time before the venue closes at the end of the year. Tickets for this concert sold out pretty much immediately with numerous fans enjoying the intimate show.

I covered the extremely fun show as a house photographer for Bowery Presents and the full gallery is now available on “The House List.”

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, Brighton, UK punk band Lambrini Girls performed at the amphitheater in Herbert Von King Park in Brooklyn. The free concert was presented by Show Brain and was initially announced via social media last week, with the location being announced hours before the event took place. Lambrini Girls took the stage at 5PM and Phoebe Lunny encouraged fans who were sitting down to move closer to the stage. The band put on a ferocious set including songs both old (“Bad Apple,” “Company Culture,” “Help Me, I’m Gay,” “God’s Country,” “Lads Lads Lads,” “Mr. Lovebomb,” “You're Not from Around Here,” and “Love,”) and new (“Cult of Celebrity,” and “White Man's World,”).

Lambrini Girls will perform again during a sold out show with Bikini Kill tomorrow night (Friday, September 25, 2026) at Brooklyn Steel, and their sophomore album titled No Refunds will be released by City Slang Records in January 2027.

On Monday, September 7, 2026, West Indian American Day Carnival Association’s 59th annual West Indian Day took place in Brooklyn, NY on a day with perfect weather. Both Tami Hart and Crickets performed new songs for the all ages crowd. All three sets began on the hour (at 3PM, 4PM, and 5PM, respectively) and photos from all three acts can be found in the above gallery.
